It's been so quiet in here lately!
Rails, is your finger better now?
Dee, how's the car going?
Kynan had a bit of a naughty food day yesterday. We went to a chocolate festival and he had a hot chip, quarter of a choc coated marshmallow, and a few licks of ice cream. I felt a bit guilty but it was his very first try of each of those things and he's not likely to get them again for a while so we haven't done too badly LOL.
-
hey everyone
Hope all is well with you Dee, you have been quiet, but i am sure you are busy getting ready, not long at all now!!
Havent been up too much, all is good here, plenty of movement going on and all the other kids are well
-
Alex had his first hair cut today thanks to Kimberley she nicely cut it for him. Now i have to work out if i take him to get the rest cut he will look so strange with really short hair but if i get it done they will have to shave his hair.
-
Ah at the first hair cut experience Michelle, glad that there was no blood involved!!
If his hair grows quick and it can be wet and fixed up i would just leave it and let it grow out, and really when you tell ppl i think they wont be too worried about how it looks
Also cant believe its not that long for your scan and to be over the first trimester, thats great news :)
-
Well best of luck with the move going smoothly Shannon :)
And does Corey have work lined up for up here as yet, and where did you decide to move too out of interest?
-
Great to hear everyone's well.
Michelle, LOL @ Alex's first haircut! Kimberley the aspiring hair dresser.
Shannon, good luck with the move. Kynan isn't walking either, he can't even take steps by himself yet although he can walk (and run!) if he's holding on to my hands or his little push walker thingy.
We went to visit a friend from my MG today, she just had another bub 8 days ago. He's so tiny! You forget how small newborns are! Funny thing is that he was 8lb 6oz at birth... Kynan was only 6lb 10oz so he must have been even smaller LOL.
Oh we also went to the CHN and Kynan's finally over the 10kg mark - 10.2kg!
-
Angel - yeah, you do forget how small a newborn is don't you .... when my SIL had the bub in Feb my Jesse looked like a giant LOL..... Jesse hasn't hit the 10kg mark yet ... soon i think ... now he is on the cows milk he seems sooooo much heavier.
Michelle - Oh no .... with Alex new hair do ... i would have died LOL ... Jesse's hair took so long to grow ... is still baby short....at least there was no blood involved, lucky !
Shannon - good to here from you ... all the best with the move, hope you have a smooth transition.
Belinda - how's your brood going ... nephew being a good boy.
Jesse is doing well.....think the top molars are spuking .. Jesse has been a bit off his food & with mushy poos ... looks like the teeth are causing it. He has been sleeping well though at least. Put Jesse in his first proper flannell pj's last night ... he looked sooooo cute !
My finger is mending slowly .... very slowly .... is still very painfull ... have to go get the dressing changed every second day ... every time they do it i nearly faint (what the??) ... i think because it is so painful, makes me feel very very sick & fainty ! ... will be glad when it is better, am over it.
-
Oooh you poor thing, Rails! Sounds like you must have sliced quite a decent bit off your finger. Ouchies! Sending lots of quick healing vibes.
Hope Jesse's teeth don't cause him too much trouble & he keeps sleeping through. Awww @ the PJs. Kynan still wears wondersuits as pyjamas... I actually like them cos he looks like he's still a little baby when he's in them LOL.
We had one of the coldest nights in about 2 weeks last night. And then I woke up at 3am to find that the room was freezing - wouldn't you know it, we had a blackout! It dropped to about 10 degrees in the bedroom and it was even colder in the rest of the house. Must've gotten down to around 0 outside. I ended up putting 3 blankets on Kynan. They didn't get the power back on until 5:30am and when Kynan woke up his little hands were so cold (and to make things worse he kept grabbing at my boobs when I fed him... brrr!). At least the rest of him was nice and warm though!
-
Angel i was having a good look at Kynan's website yesterday and i think them video clips you have of him are just so cute. He sounds like Alex does when he is pushing his toy around.
-
Awww thanks, Michelle! I'm glad those video clips work - our computer's really slow plus we're on dial up so I can never get them to load so I can check them LOL.
-
I`m here Girls :) just been busy, picked up our new car on Friday then off course we had to do a few test drives in it over the weekend then my Mum came up on Sunday and stayed until Wednesday, first time in 3 years.
Yay, Yay, Yay Matthew`s walking - it`s only taken 5 months from cruising to walking LOL AS Mark says when he was first taking steps at just under 12 months a lot of people most likely would have classed that as walking but I don`t, it wasn`t until he was walking all around the house from room to room without holding on or falling that I class as walking.
Angel - Sounds cold down your way, we had 2 very hot nights here on Tuesday and Wednesday night that I had to throw everything off and only have a sheet over me, the days have been beautiful too at 22/23 degrees, quite hot when your in full sun.
Shannon - GL with your move, hope everything goes well.
Hello to everyone else hope your doing well.
-
Woohoo for Matthew walking!! WTG! Sounds like the new car is going well too, Deeanne.
Poor Kynan isn't well at all. He woke up cranky and a bit warm from his nap yesterday. He didn't want to eat his lunch and was dribbling everywhere so I thought it was probably teething. I took him out to the park which distracted him for an hour or so but when we got home he was miserable again. He kept getting hotter and when I took his temp it was 39.5 deg. DH came home and said that he'd been feeling a bit sick too and thought he was getting a cold so now I don't know if it's that or teeth. We tried to give Kynan a dose of panadol after his bath last night but he spat it out and threw up. Twice. 3 changes of clothes later and we managed to get maybe .8ml to stay down but he was starting to get too upset to try anymore. He's been really upset most of today and I've only just managed to get a bit more panadol into him and he's now asleep in the HAB. Poor boy... he's radiating heat. Not sure what his temp is now but it'd be up there I think.
-
Angel - OMG ! .... 39.5 deg that is very high, keep your eye on him & maybe take him to the doc if it doesn't go down ... poor Kynan sounds like a bug.
Dee - WHOOHOO !!!! .... YAY for Matthew walking, it is so cute watching them, he will get better everyday, watch out for him falling forward into a wall or table.
Jesse is sick again too .... runny nose & coughing, temp was creeping up but not over @ 37.7 deg.....his top molars are definately coming thru ... he is soooo off his food, hardly eating at all .... managed to get dinner into him last night after only nibbling all day....he is quite miserable.

Hello everyone! I've been so slack on BB these last couple of months. My new job is pretty full-on (and restricted internet access at work!!), and the time I have at home with Tim and Hannah, I try to be sociable and spend time with them. I have been missing you all though!
I've managed to check in a couple of times, just to see how everyone is doing, but haven't had the time to post. I've been away on training in Townsville, Brisbane, Hervey Bay and Bribie Island these last couple of months, so it seems I've hardly been home anyhow! Luckily work is supportive of my desire to continue bf, and they've made arrangements for Hannah and Tim to travel with me for most of the time away. I didn't take her with me last week, however. That was so hard. She's at an age now where changes in routine really do upset her. Before she turned 1, I could take her anywhere and do pretty much anything with her and she coped like a champion, but I made the decision to leave her at home last week with Tim (who's doing a great job mind you, of being the primary carer!). I had intended to express during my 4 days away, but I couldn't get any out! So I think I may have dried up anyhow :( I made it to almost 14 months though. I guess I should be happy with that.
Anyhow.. Hannah's doing really well! She's 74 cm, 10.4kg, and has 7 toothie pegs. She's running (seriously sprinting!) around like a mad thing. Her favourite saying atm is "Good Girl!" but she says it to anyone who does something that impresses her (including Tim!). She has also developed a habit of picking everything up that she can lay her hands on and handing it to either Tim or I and saying "there you go". Very cute :)
It sounds like everyone else is doing really well! I will try to come in more often and reconnect with you all. It's been quite a journey we've all been on together (our pregancies, and babies first year!) and I don't want to lose contact!
-

-
Juliette - good to hear from you ... !! .... sounds like you have been very busy with your new job & well done on bf to 14mths ... you may have read i weaned Jesse because i am sure there wasn't alot left in there he was only feeding from one side the other side had dried up - i got to 14mths also. He is doing well now. Hannah sounds like she booming along .... can't wait till Jesse starts talking a bit ... he is a bit of a mumbler, no sense can be make of his ramblings LOL !
Lesley - good to hear from you too ... !... good luck with weaning the bed bottle - stay strong LOL ... i'm sure she will adjust well, i was the same with getting Jesse to bed without the bf ... he is doing excellent now. Jesse hardly crawls as well - why crawl when you can walk hey, much better on the knees !
Belinda - happy to hear the nephew has settled well, can imagine must of been hard to adjust. congrats on 25wks !! .... don't wish it away lol .... it goes too quick as it is remember, feels like yesterday we all just had the bubbies !!
All is good here, Jesse is sleeping well again - his left top molar has cut, now for the other side probably in the next week or so (sigh) .... hopefully then we get a break. My finger is mending nicely, she said yesterday that i won't need to come back in can change the dressings myself now ... whoohoo !!!
My sister is schedualled to have her second baby next Thursday for an induction, so that will be exciting, she has asked me & our other sister to be there with her for the labour, so looking forward to that ( i think lol!) .... she will be 38 weeks, needs to have the baby early because of the medication she is on (injections for blood clot).
-
Hey guys,
Kynan's doing better now. His temp took 24 hours to come down. I didn't really like to give him panadol too often as he hates it so much that he vomits! He has been quite unsettled since but is slowly getting better. Perhaps it was teeth.
We have had a lot going on as you can see by my signature :D
Lesley & Juliette, glad to see you both around again.
Rails, great to hear your finger is on the mend finally and Jesse is sleeping better now! Good luck to your sister!
-
-
First of all Congratulations Angel on your pregnancy. Sending you lots of sticky vibes.
Juliette, Hannah, Lesley and Chloe it's great to see you gusy back.
Alex has satrted screaming at night and it takes us ages to get him back to seelp. I've had Kimberley down with a virus for a week now and she is still not well. Other than that not much going on with us.
-
Great news Angel, congrats to you and your family :)
-
Congratulations Angel !!!!!! ..... great news to be adding a new little addition to your family , very happy for you all :) xx
-
WooHoo Congratulations Angel - I`m so happy for you, DH and Kynan.
Michelle - Sorry to hear your having problems with Alex at night and poor Kimberley I hope she`s feeling better soon.
Belinda - OMG @ you already being 25 weeks along.
Juliette - GLad all is going well with you although your a bit busy, I`m so glad that Tim is doing a great job being at home with Hannah, that`s wonderful. How are your mini horses going?
Lesley - GL with weaning the bottle.
Rails - How`s Jesse now?
I`ve been sick with gastro since early Saturday morning, it just knocked me off my feet, feeling slightly better but I have told baby boy to stay where he isfor now, I`m not well enough for labour as I don`t have the energy.
Matthew`s doing well, it`s amazing the things they learn, everyday he does something which amazes me, he hardly crawls anymore and only falls on his bottom occasionally probably because he`s been up on his feet for 5.5 months he`s very steady on them and confident plus as I said it wasn`t until he walked the lewngth of the house that I classed him as walking LOL
Hope your all well.
Take Care
Dee
-
Wow at 8 days to go Dee, best of luck with your labour going as you want it too :)
-
congratulations on your pregnancy angel :)
-
Thanks Belinda :)
I`m finally feeling better today, it`s taken over a week to finally feel more like myself and the first time in over a week I`ve had more to eat then just liquids.
Nothing much going on here except for me and lots of pain that I never had with Matthew, it feels like baby boys head is just right there under the skin in the pubic area, not sleeping well at all.
Matthew is now saying lots of new words (perhaps I had already told you that, I don`t know). Still very much Daddy`s boy at times and wants to be picked up by Daddy often.
Hope everyone`s well :)
Take Care
Dee
-
So you smsing someone when you have baby to post for you Dee???
Hope that you are :)
Well all is ok here, just cruising along with life
-
I hope Dee remembers to sms me when she has the baby :)
I can't wait so looking forward to finding out his name.
Belinda nearly down to double figures to go for you.
Alex is being a pain with his sleeping he's been waking up every night for the last week screaming and it takes ages to get him back to sleep one night something will work but teh next it won't. I've just gone and got him a pillow and duvet for his cot. I will let him sleep on the duvet as that has worked getting him back to sleep when i have used Kimberley's. Just glad Kmart had 30% off this week.
-
Hi Everybody.
I don't know if any of you will remember me but I was posting while we were all pregnant and have just started hanging around again... hope you don't mind me joining you guys so late...
I was just wanting to pick your brains and maybe get some tips from you guys. Harry has been unwell this week and has started having MASSIVE tantrums when we try to change his nappy or clothes, or give him a bath... He is so strong now that when we take his nappy off he just flips over and starts screaming - it's impossible to change him! Have any of you gone through this? If you have did you have any solutions?
It was really nice to look in here and see all the old familiar names again..
Once again, I hope you don't mind me joining in so late.
-
Thanks for the congrats everyone :)
Deeanne, how are you going now? I hope your energy levels have picked up again! Good luck for labour & birth!
Michelle, how is Alex's sleep now?
Karen, hi & welcome! Kynan only does little tantrums occasionally, mainly when he is tired or frustrated so I don't know if I can be of much help. When it comes to nappy changes etc though I do try and tell him ahead of time what I'm going to do (I figure I would like it too much if someone came up to me all of a sudden and took my clothes off for no apparent reason LOL). I also have everything ready and give him a toy to play with while I'm changing him. As well as that I sing incy wincy spider to him and he does the actions, and then I ask him where his nose/mouth/toes/fingers are and he points. Perhaps though with Harry it might be a side effect of being sick and will hopefully improve as he gets better? Has he had a temp and maybe doesn't like the cool air on his skin when taking his clothes/nappy off?
Not much going on with me & Kynan. Thankfully his sleeping patterns are starting to settle down again after he wasn't well the other week. Had my first scan on Thursday. Not a lot to be seen given that I was only 4w but bub's not ectopic which is great. OB sent me for bloods (HCG) so I have an appt to see him again tomorrow arvo.
-
Weclome back Karen.
alex has little tantrums but he is ok when he is having his nappy changed. Maybe do what Angels does with Kynan.
When do you have another scan Angel ?
Hopefully Kynan will start to sleep well for you again soon.
Alex slept all night last night it was the first time in over a week. Shame i didn't get to sleep well but you get that.
-
Woohoo for Alex sleeping through, Michelle! Sorry to hear you're not sleeping too well though. Is it a PG thing? It's annoying when bub sleeps well but you can't isn't it. I've been waking around 2am lately and not able to go back to sleep because I'm too busy stressing about the PG LOL.
Not too sure about the next scan. Don't know if the OB will do another tomorrow since I only had one a few days ago and it's still so early, but perhaps I'll have another scan next week. I'll probably be seeing him weekly for a while and he does a quick scan at every visit.
Kynan freaked when I had the scan on Thursday. I had him in his pram (1st time since he was 2w old) because DH was working. Kynan must have thought I was getting too far away from him. He wouldn't let me put him back in the pram after that and when I had the BT one of the nurses had to hold him but he still screamed. He was terrified poor thing. He was opening his mouth to cry but with no sound coming out. I have to arrange my appts for either early morning or late afternoon now so DH can come along and hold Kynan.
-
Hi Karen - WElcome back, of course we don`t mind you joining us, the more the merrier :) As for the tantrums, about 4 weeks ago we went through the same thing with Matthew, he was throwing tantrums about anything and everything yes including nappy changing time, it is hard especially when one is heavily pregnant and you are struggling with a child who doesn`t want clean nappies on, we got through it, just tried lots of things, nothing seem to work then suddenly he was happy again, tantrums have all stopped only now and again he`ll now take off with something he`s not suppose to have like this morning he grabbed a pen and took off at fast walking speed then threw it, then picked it up before Mummy got there and threw a tiny tantrum when Mummy took it off him. Do you find that with your DH Harry can be a little angel? I`m finding that myself.
Angel - I have picked up a lot in the last few days, before then I was quite down in myself as well guess it can be expected when I was so sick at this stage of my pregnancy. Wow your first scan already, glad bubs isn`t ectopic, bet you can`t wait to see that wonderful HB flicking away, although I know you`ll be nervous about it. Poor Kynan being so scared.
Michelle - Yay for Alex sleeping through.
Girls, you will all know when baby boy is here, I will not keep you in suspence. Not sure if Mark is totally satisfied with the name, men!!!!!!
Had to get up to the toliet 5 times last night, I was getting really annoyed by myself. Baby boy is certainly a lot quieter then normal as well.
Just thought I`d pop on here while waiting for Matthew to go to sleep, I can`t hear any noise so guess I should go and do the housework, my boys make such a mess, it looks like a bomb has hit the place!!!!!
Take Care
Dee
-
Thanks for the input guys. Deejoy, I'm so happy to see somebody else has gone through the same thing and made it to the other side. Did you think you would go mad? i just seem to be on edge all the time, hoping whatever I am doing doesn't set him off! It's just he is usually the complete opposite to this - my little laid back boy is nowhere to be seen! I do hope it's part of him being sick. He's starting to feel better so hopefully as the days go by his tanties will dwindle off...
Angel, he has had a fever for a few days so it all ties in with that I think. I know that when I'm sick and I have to get changed I start shivering so he must be relating those feelings to getting changed, nappies and bath time as well. Poor little thing...
-
Karen - Sounds like the tantrums might be linked with Harry not being well, when I look back Matthew`s tantrums were happening when he came down with gastro (he had two different gastro bugs within 2 weeks). Yes I did think I`d go made with the tantrums, I was blaming myself that I was doing the wrong thing, like Harry Matthew is very laid back and placid most of the time.
It`s very quiet in here, I hope everyone`s okay and that your just busy.
Are any of you girls finding that when you say No, your being ignored, all Matthew does is smile at me or even growls at me  Yet if Mark says No to him and it doesn`t even have to be in a harsh tone Matthew brawls his eyes out, perhaps he knows he can get around me but not Daddy. He`s even starting to bite which isn`t nice.
Since we`re no longer Breastfeeding - boohoo I have found a wonderful time that Matthew and I can enjoy together, having a shower in the morning, Matthew thinks it`s great, this morning he was being quite bossy trying to get his pj`s off then he realised oh Mummy is still dressed so he tried to pull my ugg boots off, so cute :) So that`s our little our time for the moment.
Take Care
Dee
-
Karen, hope Harry is getting better now.
Deeanne, Kynan is the opposite. I say no to him and he often starts crying but if DH says no then he doesn't react. He knows that when I say it I mean it and he's in trouble though LOL. He seems to be very sensitive to my tone of voice but not so much to DH's. If Kynan goes to touch something that he shouldn't sometimes he will even look at me, remember that he's not supposed to touch (the oven for example) and he'll shake his head.
Ouch @ the biting! Although I suppose there's one bonus to not BF anymore LOL! Kynan hasn't done the biting thing yet but he will come up and rest his teeth on my leg or knee etc and gently nibble. It actually tickles and is kind of cute but I'm trying to discourage him from doing it so he doesn't think it's okay to chomp down LOL.
-
wow at how many sleeps are left for baby Dee, best of luck with it all and will be waiting to hear your good news :)
Well not much happening here, but realised i am not far off third trimester, its just gone so fast, i am kind of wanting it to go fast but at times not so fast lol, still doing the name game lol
What do you think of Tristan as a name?
-
Dee - Yes ... Yes ... being ignored is very much on the agenda around here at the moment .... Jesse is testing us BIG TIME .... we have the box for wood next to the conara which he knows he is NOT allowed to touch ... of course he has a toy that just happens to roll next to it, which he then just happens to drop inside the box, then he will look at me and reach into the box ... i say NO JESSE ! ... he stops then reaches again .... i will say NO again (little game for him i think) he forgets about the toy & goes for a bit of wood instead ... then i say "don't you make me get up !" LOL ! .... then when i stand up & he will then quickly move away - very cheeky ! .. Good luck for the labour , hope is all goes well for you, can't wait xx
Karen - Welcome back to our group .... :) ... in regards to the nappy changing struggle, Yes can relate too ....Jesse will always wiggle about & twist over - my solution is to give him something differnet to hold each nappy change, whether it be a toy or an empty wipes packet etc , also at the moment he seems to settle when i say "Poo Poo, stinky bum" ... & i smell him & hold my nose - he starts laughing & doesn't wiggle much LOL !
I have had this problem since he started turning around ... Yes, quite a few mths, ggggrrrr .... i think i have moved on from the 'gone mad' stage LOL !... at a different level now haha
Belinda - wow third tri already ..... i think Tristan is a great name.
Angel - good news on the scan result ... hope the blood test go well too ! Poor Kynan being upset when you were having the scan ... he probably didn't like these peole doing stuff to mummy ... Jesse got upset when i was at the dentist - he was in the pram watching me get my filling fixed, he didnt like it LOL !!
Michelle - hope you get a good nights sleep soon ... that was one of the parts of pg i hated ... not having a good sleep for 40wks ...gggrrrr
Well Jesse is better now ... no snots anymore ... YAY !! .... he has a very red cheek so the night wakes will be back soon i will predict & the snots too i'm sure .. boohoo !
He is starting to take notice in all the things i have been teaching him - whereas before he lost interest quickly - he has learned to touch his nose, mouth & ear ... he points to his foot when i ask where does the shoe go .. & when i ask where are his hands, he will hold a hand out, i then ask about his fingers , he gives them a wiggle ... so cute. Also, i have given him DH's old mobile phone ... he is walking around the house with it against his ear blubbering .... i think he said "LOW DADA" ... which sounds like he could have said Hello !!! ....he has just started doing this in the last week .... he would just ignore me when i asked him to point to stuff ... is sooooo cute !
My sister is going into hospital this afternoon & is going to have the gel tonight to begin the inducing process - then if she hasn't started labour by 7.30am tomorrow her OB will break her waters .... .... me, my other sis & mum are going in early tomorrow morning ... my SIL is coming here to look after Jesse, which was really nice of her to offer, so i didn't have to take him in to the hospital. So i will be an aunty again tomorrow !!
-
Hope everything goes well with your sister Rails.
It's great news to hear Jesse is much better and is learning so much.
I keep teaching Alex stuff and he doesn't copy me. Some things he will copy Kimberley with but most of that is naughty stuff. They have been fighting for the last few days and both screaming and crying at the same time. Alex is still waking at night always around the same time so now thinking it's a habit for him and he will stop it soon. Most nights he will get himself back to sleep. He's cut back on how much milk he is drinking also which i think is helping him eat more. Other than last night when he didn't want to eat his tea.
-
Deeanne, how are things going with you and your baby boy?
Belinda, wow @ almost being in the 3rd tri! I can't believe how quickly things have gone for both you & Dee!
Rails, awww Jesse sounds so cute pointing to everything! How did your sister go?
Michelle, PMSL @ Alex copying the naughty stuff that Kimberley does! That's great that Alex is able to resettle himself most nights.
I don't know what's going on with Kynan lately but he's been doing shocking poos the last 10 days or so. Really messy and smelly. So bad in fact that I had to stop halfway through cleaning a nappy this morning to have a vomit LOL. I thought maybe teething but his gums don't look any different and he's not chewing on things more than usual.
