About to leave to go south so not sure when I will be back on. DH decided to leave when we pick Jess up from work at 8pm and drive tonight.
Evening ladies.
I started my weight loss challenge today. Took a pic of myself standing on
the scales and the reading. Urgh....
Just a quick question..... has anyone else's bubbas gone off their milk now that they realise there is more to milk to be consumed? I am luckly to get Kaitlyn to have three 120ml bottles a day these days, but she will drink at least one bottle (125ml) of water with a drop of ribena or cordial.
Nope Darcy's still very much a booby girl. She does however think she's entitled to everything I eat. I think she ate too much tonight because she's only just gone to sleep. Usually she's out like a light at 7.
I'm off to find a printoutable scale tomorrow....don't know that I really want to take a photo....must find my tape measure though.
Leanne, I've got the opposite problem. Shaun is drinking HEAPS. I would say 5-6 250ml bottles every day.
But I haven't thought about giving him water or juice or anything. I only thought about that today. I'm seeing the MCHN tomorrow, so I'll talk to her about it. I think I better start him on some water or he'll turn into a beach ball.
SO much for my diet. I just polished off half a bag of lolly bananas......
Ah there's always tomorrow.
Which reminds me, Jodie I have to go on the web site and properly register. It's pretty exciting in a way, but such hard work.....
Going to bed I am stuffffffffffed.
Morning! Well I've started my blog for the challenge, but that's about it....will get weighed today. Only problem is that there's a kilo of chocolate downstairs
I have a stupid stpuid question. How do you all organise babies clothes? I know that sounds dumb, but I can't seem to keep Darcy's neat. And that frustrates the OCD life out of me. Drawers must be neat! In keeping with my busy day yesterday Darcy's room is next.....
RE clothes.
I have four shelves in Katy's cupboard.
1. bibs and face washers.
2. tshirts and 'body suits' and shorts
3. longer pants, jeans and jumpers / jackets.
4. PJ.s and sleeping bags.
All linen etc are on the other side of the cupboard, and dresses etc are hung up. Socks and hair accessories are in a bedside table drawer. Hats and feather boa's on her hat stand. Shoes, just chucked in the bottom of the cupboard.
As soon as she grows out of something it goes into one of the $7 Bunnings clear storage containers (GOTTA LOVE BUNNINGS!!) and I label it with the size on the side.
I think that's it.
We just sat Kaitlyn on our scales and she's 9 kgs exactly. Our little girl sure is growing. That's triple her birth weight almost.
Off to get ready for my two hour driving lesson (and practice test).
BBL
Have a good morning mummas and bubbas.
Of course bunnings! I just got the poos cos I'm packing away all the old stuff for storage and ran out of boxes.....bunnings here I come!
LOL Kim :)
I got a heap of those vacuum space bags which are a great help too. So I try to sort them into sizes and put them away as Shaun grows out of them.
I got my hubby to put two shelves into the wardrobe so I have shaun's clothes folded into:
- short sleeve/short leg suits
- long sleeve/short leg suits
- long sleeve/long leg suits
- pants
- t-shirts - short sleeve
- t-shirts - long sleeve
- bibs
- jackets, overalls and 'good clothes' are hanging
Then there are 4 draws underneath which have socks & shoes... and the rest is stuff I don't use much (bunny rugs etc).
I might check out Bunnings for boxes because his toy collection is growing every day - and I want one for the living room...
I just got back from Maternal Health and Shaun has increased his weight to 8.24kg, height is 68.5cm and his tiny little head is 42.2cm. His weight & height are close to the 50th percentile - but his head is like the 4th percentile. She said I shouldn't worry about his pin-head.. especially as there's nothing I can do about it. She said he's really advanced with everything as he's crawling and pulling himself up to a stand.
But now he's discovered how to pull himself up - he refuses to lie down to sleep. He's driving me nuts! I lay him down... he stands up. I lay him down... he stands up. I lay him down - he starts screaming... and I mean SCREAMING!!! Boy, he's just discovered his lungs!
Oh Jodie, poor love. I have a screamer I sympathise. My screamer doesn't scream so much anymore though. His head looks fine in all his photos....
But she can crawl properly as of this morning. Woohoo - not! Guess we'll have to invest in a stair gate tomorrow.
i also have a screamer now!!! he never used too but Nick thinks it is funny to scream back at him so now thats just how he communicates oh the joy's
boys!......
where is everyone ??
Morning.
Had a discussion with DH has night about DTD. Says that I am not in the mood until it's time to go to sleep. Does not understand that its hard to get in the 'mood' while cooking dinner, feeding bathing and getting to sleep an 8 month old.
Looks like Katy might become an only child!
BBL.
Leanne why does your ticker say Katy's 5months old??? Ha we have that conversation regularly....there's a simple answer but until they get that they have to help out equally then I will be tired.....
We went on a 'date' last night. Dropped the Dragon off at mum's and went out for dinner and a movie. It was nice, except Cam went to sleep in the movie. Happy Feet's a bit scary I have to tell you.....of course then she was awake all the way home and wouldn't go to sleep until about 2 grrrrr
oh yeah the ticker does to , will have to go fix it! he he he
gees I make good waffles....guess I'll start tomorrow.....
I've got to go shopping tonight. I tried yesterday, but it's impossible with a pram when you have to get lots of stuff. And I could do online shopping but that seems so silly when the supermarket is just up the road. But it might be an idea! Might look into that. It will control my impulse shopping. Does anyone grocery shop online? Do they have all the items that are on the shelves?
I found out something interesting yesterday... I was in need of nappies... and we've been using Huggies & I buy them in the box of 90 crawlers. I once had them delivered from a nappy store and they were 'asian' huggies and quite cheap. Then Safeway (woolies) had boxes on special for $30 so I bought three boxes. But now I was checking prices and online they ranged from $42 to $46. The supermarkets & K-mart had them for $45 +/-. But Big W were selling them - regular price - for less then $39. They sell formula cheaper at Big W too. And I was tempted to get a baby gate from there. They had them on special from $90 down to $70. We've got a wooden one, which is a bit annoying to climb over. But DH didn't want to pay $70 for one you walk through. There's a few on eBay so I'll keep my eye on them.
Because I've got no bread or milk in the house... and I'm trying to be good... I remember I've got some crumpets in the freezer.... so thats on the menu now!
Since ours is at the top of the stairs we just paid for one you walk through at Babies Galore. I never thought of BigW (our huggies are $36.98), but I got a good deal anyway. One shop had a protacot we wanted for $79 and the gate for $109, but had no gates, so I asked if they price matched at BG and they matched the price on the cot (which was $20 less than their on sale price) and gave me 10% off the gate.
As for online groceries, I think they're pretty expensive comparatively. I tried and it just takes too long, you can't buy the quantities that you want and the range is very small.
Will Shaun not sit in the trolley?
OMG... I feel so stupid. I didn't think to put shaun in a trolley seat!!!
I just automatically pull the jogger out of my car every time. D'oh!!!!
Sometimes if I can't be bothered getting the jogger out, I hire the prams in the shopping centre which are free.
I can't believe I'm so stupid. Now I can do some decent shopping. I've got this great hip seat that you strap to your waist and the baby sits on that - which is great to get around when you're not using a trolley/pram.
Thanks Kim. I must have had my blonde wig on for the last 6 months! (no offence to all the blondes !!).
Just went to my parents house... and my Stepmum made me a toasted ham sandwich but automatically coated both sides of the bread in butter... damn. I was trying to be really good. But I've not been bad. Two crumpets with vegemite only, and one ham toastie. Will be going to WW tonight, so I dread to see the scales.
Good luck Jodie. Thinking light thoughts for you chickie!
Jodie you aren't stupid. and you will be fine at WW.
Good luck! Don't forget to wear your light clothes and squeeze as much pee out as possible just before you jump on the scales..... :) That's what I used to do. he he he
This may be TMI, but I've finally had my bikin line waxed for the first time since the week before Darcy was born! YAY! Well I couldn't go to swimming lessons like that!
hey all i'm still here got a bunch of sick kids so i may not be on ,much
Hugs to you Shazz.... hope the kids feel better soon.
WW was as I expected - I'm back to my 'starting weight' (last september)- 85.3kg.
I've been drinking heaps of water in the last few days... but I've also been binge eating prior to my weight loss challenge. So now I'm going to be really good. Went to the supermarket and bought lots of healthy stuff.
Good on you Kim for getting the wax. Makes you feel like a woman again doesn't it!
Which reminds me.... I want to get Shaun into swimming lessons.
Okay once again I've been a bit absent!!! Hopefully by next week it will all settle back down to normal!! I've spent the last few days cleaning my house and I'm not trying to catch up on the finances etc. I had a bit of a mummy meltdown and because of that I'm trying to get a routine happening with Em. So far so good and I'm feeling much more positive about things. I'm so grateful for the support network I've got though I have to admit that I don't utilize it enough! I still need to get Em weighed etc and have his shots done. I will organise that tomorrow I think! I am babysitting tomorrow so I will try and get my grocery shopping done with 2 kids LOL. That will be interesting!!
Jodie ~ Arghhh this has been my dilemma with Em. The whole standing up thing!! I have taken to wrapping him again so then he can't get up LOL. I had to laugh at you not thinking to put Shaun in the trolley baby seats!!
Kim ~ OMG at Darcy crawling!! That is fantastic!! She'll keep you on your toes now!! As for storage... well I have a toyboy and a set of cupboards inside the built in robe and stuff hanging. The kid has as many clothes as me  Whoo hoo for getting a wax as well!! I love getting waxed lol (I know I'm strange!!) I even waz my arms!!! Glad to hear that you had a night out alone as well. LOL @ Happy Feet being scary!!!
Shazz ~ Eeek at the screaming!! I don't know how I'd handle that!!
Leanne ~ I seriously think the only way to deal with men that complain about DTD is to just throw yourself at them constantly!! When they want to shower, watch TV - when they just want to rest... pester pester pester!! See how he feels then hehe
Good luck with to everyone trying to loose weight. I'm definitely not trying to loose weight - I won't mention what I weigh otherwise you might all throw stones at me LOL. But I am definitely trying to look after myself better this year - eat healthy and exercise!
Well I better get going. I tried to post the next theme for the PM Photography Competition and the computer froze and I lost it all - grrr  so I have to go and type it all out again LMAO!!
Nat. LMAO at the toy boy in the wardrobe..... Don't you mean tallboy!! LOL :)
BBL dd's up and crawling and it's quiet so probably need to save my curtains.... She loooves to pull at my curtains.
Hello everyone, hope all is well for you all.
Hehe yes I did mean tall boy... these darn late night posts
Is Cooper the only baby NOT crawling??? :crying:
I never use to worry about milestones, but he isnt crawling, he has no teeth and isnt talking....seems he is way behind...time to worry???
I would not worry Alison. Each baby develops in their own way and at their own pace. One day he'll wake up with toothy pegs saying da da and mum mummmmm and crawling from one end of the room to the other in a flash.
If you are concerned tho, speak with your clinic nurse.
I've just had a look at his web page - what a cutie pie!!
He's not way behind Allison! They are all TOTALLY different. Em could crawl when he was like a week old.....Darcy could stand up holding onto something by herself at 2 months, but then she's only just started with the other and she has no teeth. I'm actually horrified that she's crawling, I was kinda hoping she'd be slow at that....
There's a bub in Leanne and my mother's group who's about a month older than Cooper and he can't even sit up by himself yet.
We went up the coast today for fish and chips....was a bit peeved cos I hate batter and they didn't have grilled fish....my arm got so sunburnt driving back  I'm the sunscreen queen too?!?!?
Shazz, why do they always get sick in the holidays??? Not Ryans ears again?
Vic, you're a bit quiet, hows the holiday battle armour holding up??
Hey Jodie (or Nat) how do I stop that awful rash every time I wax??? Yeah Nat I'm a bit the same, but have fair hair on my arms so don't worry....Have been a bit nervous about the csec scar though.
pmsl @ that Kim!!!! :cryinglaugh: And hehe Kim now you're sunburn is gonna be uneven :nana: I'm not sure how to stop that rash. I do know that if you ex foliate regularly (but not straight after you get it done) that can help - also a really good moisturizer. I use Body Shops Body Butter... mmmmmm:
Em could crawl when he was like a week old.....
Alison ~ Em's cousin is 10 months old and not crawling yet! Its completely normal. They all develop at their own rates! Em has no teeth though he is talking a lot now after being the quietest baby I've ever known for months LOL!
I had a busy day babysitting today and we had lotsa fun. Em loves having other kids around!!! He went down for his last nap late so I'm just trying to wake him up but he keeps falling asleep on me LOL. He is very cute when he's all tired... in fact its the only time I can have him sitting still on my lap!! It makes me realise what an active child I have! He certainly is keeping me on my toes lately :whip:
Well I better go and wake him up properly otherwise there will be no sleeping tonight hehe!!
Vic ~ Ohhh darn it when you edit there are no posts below to read so now I have to remember what you posted about!! I'm glad your DH is off this week and you're having some nice family time. I know what you mean about banning yourself. I have kinda been doing that lately because I've just been so busy and Em's routine and the housework takes priority! It is 40 degrees here - great washing weather LOL. That's all I can remember SORRY!!!
Ange ~ I forgot to say Hi before!!!
Kim... tea tree lotion should help calm the rash and prevent ingrown hairs. Depends what the rash is... if it's heat rash or you've got sensitive skin - then a cold facecloth will help.
Alison - Shaun is crawling... but no sign of teeth (just the screaming pain from them) and no talking. A friend came over today with her 9.5mnth old... and he can't crawl... but he's got a mouthful of teeth.
DH just handed Shaun to me. He refuses to go to sleep. Too hot. Teeth hurting. At least he's quiet... not like the old days .
Jodie it's like millions of little pimples and really painful. I've been waxing for about 15 years and it happens EVERY time.....
ouchy's Kim
Hi Ange ~ beautiful photo of little Miss Katerina how have you been getting some sleep these days ?
hope Sara is ok and she gets rid of her trojan soon it is quiet in here
big hi to everyone else i don't have an ounce of energy ATM so no personals sorry
i am happy to say it is not EARS this time with master Ryan they have had some viral infection really really high temps sore throats just plain miserable but it looks like they are on the mend now thankfully i went and brought the kids school books todays and uniforms for DD she is starting high school OMG i should have taken out a personal loan ok i'm off to bed
i have had a migraine for the last 2 days i'm only starting to feel normal again myself i think AF is going to come and visit for the first time in years it feels like my face has had a complete break out yuck so not happy about that but i think it has a lot to do with me trying to eat healthier as well a bit of a detox
Kim... if you don't have really sensitive skin... I would suggest you buy something called "Ingrow Go" - normally from a chemist. It's a liquid that contains alcohol & asprin & some indredients like AHA's. It's fairly strong stuff... but could help to prevent the reaction - and reduce it after your waxing. Does your waxer use hot wax or strip wax? If using strip wax - ask for hot wax.... it will not react as much. And it doesn't hurt as much either.
Cooper started commando crawling tonight. I am so so so excited. I hope he remembers how to do it tomorrow morning. Yay!!
