shellbelle: Bella only has 5mins a feed thats it (as in 2 boobs within 5mins) she eats 3hourly. And is hopeless now in public also she is such a stickybeak i though it was a girl thing obviously not. Dont worry Bella eats during the night also thats y if she is fussy during the day im not stressing coz i know shes eating at night, i get reminded of this every morning i look in the mirror and c bags under my eye's....hehe. Its a stage that there obviously both going through everything is more important then booby! Just hang in there and as i said Bella has about 2.5mins on each boob and thats it 4 the feed.
-
Hey ladies, a bit busy around here so a very quick one!
Ash - what Lulu said. ;) I know it must be so hard for you but her advice sounds great and I hope you get it all sorted soon honey. Yay for good kissing - mmmm those were the days! Al and I have been together for 11 years this year!
Shell- Good on you for TTC! As someone said in your other post -surely 4 cant be that much harder than 3??!!!! Considering I only have Iz Im basing that on my exceptional experience as you can tell!! ;) I can understand your reservations about car, house etc - but I guess its all stuff that you can work on and once you have that new little one it will be all worth it!! How has work been for you lately? - sorry if you have posted already baby brain hitting hard.
Kass - Your photos of Annabelle are just gorgeous! I love the one of her in her party dress and she definately has your eyes! You are right about them getting faster - Izzy feeds for about 5-10 and thats just one side- shes been a one side girl since she was born but I guess they just get more efficient at getting that booby juice out!
Lulu - how are you feeling lately? Has your ms all passed? Your neew bubby will be born this year- yay! How exciting! Have you gotten a little more used to the idea yet? I wanted to ask you too where you got Izzy's little pool floaty thing from? I know you are in WA but Id love to get one for Iz too even though our pool is pretty cool for her but on those 41 days we are about to have it might be fun to put her in it for a few minutes and then back into her shell!
Well since Sunday night and tough love again - we are back to Iz waking once in the night - whoo hoo! She wakes anywhere from 2-4 for a quick feed and back til 6-7. This morning it was 630 so I put her back thinking she would grizzle and want to get up but she slept til 9!! Im finding her day sleeps are long and its easy to get her to go down - maybe because her solids are going so well and also shes soooo active when awake....anyone else finding this? She is pulling herself up to standing on anything that is about 20cms off the floor so its only a matter of time til she realises that the coffee table and tv unit arent too far away!! Her crawling is still unco as but shes into everything and every room - I have a makeshift door to the kitchen but we will need to get a gate for that door and the stairs very soon.
I have mothers group tomorrow and I have to walk in 41 degree heat - ugh! Our car should be ready Friday - I think I mentioned that in my last post! Did I mention Im excited and after 3 days of Al being back at work Im well and truly ready to get my car back ????;) Thai fish cakes waiting - talk soon!!!
-
hey tan im happy 4 u that iz is sleeping better and the crawling is so scarey 4 me im going 2 have 2 do the child protacting the house also, good luck walking in the heat. Slip, slop and slap! I know what its like 2 have a car in the shop or DP taking it 2 work as his car is in the shop. Have a good day at mummys club.
This reminds me ladies if u have any ideas 4 me, im really needing 2 meet ppl with bubs that live in my town, like a mummys club but i cant find one i thought of making my own like starting up a website as theres not 1 4 the ballarat area that has a website. What do u ladies think?
-
Tan - yay for your car being ready this week. I'd be lost without mine - just knowing you can go anywhere, even if you don't want to IYKWIM. I've got the opposite sleeping that you have (yay for a huge improvement on your Iz's sleeping) - my Iz is fantastic through the night - goes down about 8pm and doesn't wake until between 7-9am (sorry girls ), but her day sleeps are no more than 40 minutes at a time, and she's only having 2 of them - makes it hard to get anything done during the day (like work!!) but at least I get a good night's sleep.
Not sure where the pool float came from - it was a Christmas present from my folks, but will find out. If needs be, I'm happy to get one over here and post it to you. The pic is from Mum's pool and its in a big covered enclosure so its blo*dy freezing in there - even on a 46 degree day. We put Iz in the float and dragged her round a bit to get warm, and then she seemed happy enough to just bob around for about 10 minutes before she got a bit cool.
MS had disappeared but has come back with a vengeance unfortunately, but at least its better than with Iz as its only when something smells or looks bad. Back to calling DH whenever Iz has a pooey nappy so it can't be too bad to have morning sickness!! I guess I'm a bit more accepting of the idea of having a second baby now, but I still can't think of things except for Izzy's benefit - like which room is best for Iz, how long should I stay in hospital for Izzy's sake, how will I still get to Izzy's swimming classes? Hopefully it will change, or else this little bubby is going to be the most neglected child in the world
Kass - I think its a great idea to try to form a mother's group if there isn't one already. Have you called the local council or hospital to ask if there is anything?
-
No i havent luluHb thats a great idea, i knew one of u ladies would come up with something.
Also luluHb a man i know went 2 sleep school with his bub, the same age as Bella, and was told that bubs do 40mins sleep then start 2 stir and need 2 put themselves back 2 sleep so if shes sleeping all night maybe look at how light it is in her room during the day Bella is ok if its not pitch black but some bubs just like us adults cant sleep if its 2 light in the room......just a suggestion.
-
Shell-Yay for TTC#4. Wow, I'm flat out with one, let alone 4!!!
Tan-Yep if she is getting up on random items, she'll be up on bigger stuff in no time. I' sent Danni an MMS of Blakey walking around the furniture today, he see's me then gets really fast at the end lol Yay for Friday to get your car back!
Lulu-I didn't mean get legal advice form the net, I meant some phone numbers and contacts etc, maybe read up some general info if legal aid have a website (sitll haven't had a chance anyway mum is on the PC tonight). I really don't think the new bub will be neglected, all the priorities will shift to 50/50 once Ned comes along, I'm sure. At the moment you're just used to it being her, doesn't mean you're 1 child mentality can't rollover to 2. Just remember the adjustment from you and DH to you, Iz and DH :)
Kass-Yep it's called a sleep cycle, but some babies just won't resettle - mine is one of them, once he stirs he rolls over and crawls up the other end of his cot, and won't go back down!
Fingers crossed Blake has a good night tonight - I feel like such a nicer person after getting a decent night's sleep. I hate being a b!tch but when I'm tired, I can't help it :(
-
Well, all my 3 kiddies will be going to the dr today! I had the night form hell last night!! Angus went to bed about 7.30, I was still up on comp when he woke at 11pm screaming his head off. I bf him, then went to bed about 12ish, and then from then on he just about fed continuosly all night!! He is really snotty and I think he has sore ears and throat. He had a bit of a temp so gave him some panadol, but he just tossed and turned and screamed all night. THEN, to make matters worse, DD #2 woke up at 3am vomiting, was all in her bed and everywhere! SO I had to put her in the shower to clean her up, change the sheets and settle her. I looked in her throat cause she was in tears with pain, and she has all red dots down the back of her throat everywhere???? Not sure what that is???? So, anyway, will take them all to the dr to get checked, just have to wait for them to open at 8am to ring. And, it is still peesing down rain here, so I have a mammoth washing pile, and now spewy stuff to try and wash as well!! (Maybe I should have posted this in the boo hoo room!) Sorry gals, just had to get it off my chest!!!
Hope everyone has a nice day!!!
-
Awww  Shell- hope all the kidlets get better soon and you can all get some rest and sunshine hun.
-
shell thats horrible, red dots????? Let us know how u go and what those red dots r? Poor Angus.
-
Huggles Shell, I hope all is well and nothing sinister going on. Sounds like we both had a rough night but yours takes the cake.
-
Oh my lord you girls can TAAAAAAAAALK!!!
I will have to spend some time doing some personals later so a very quick update from us just to let you know how we're going.
Mia's been doing well - I've got her an amber teething necklace which I am hoping will sort out some of her grizzling issues which are just doing my head in at the moment. She's now taught herself to slowly stick her bum up in the air and move an inch backwards and then gets frustrated because she can't reach anything anymore LOL She'll get there...
Re: feeding, she's lovely anything that's got no lumps in it (hates yoghurt though) but every time I try and introduce chewing to her she gags and refuses to eat it. PRINCESS I tell you!!
As for me, great!!! SUPER high at the moment - had the most FANTASTIC photo session yesterday (photos are up on the blog already - I couldn't wait I was that excited! I literally screamed when I uploaded them to my computer for editing!) and have had heaps of enquiries come through which is great!! Hoping the momentum keep churning so I can stay busy, busy, busy :D
-
Oooh Kristen what a little heartbreaker!!! Shes adorable and Ive said it before but you have an amazing knack for capturing the spirit of the kids you photograph!! :D
-
oh kristan shes beautiful!!!!! what a little dolly. I wish we had some good photographers here (sorry if i spelt that wrong)
-
WOW Kristen, she is such a beautiful little girl!!!!!!!!!! You're fantastic, when you decide to come for a QLD holiday, I'll be booking in straight away lol
-
Just wanted to let you all know that Izzy pulled herself up on the couch today - OMG where have our tiny newborn babies gone.:( :) Its crazy - I look at her and think - I dont know you, you are meant to be a tiny bundle lying in my arms not a crawling walking eating laughing little girl!!! :cryinglaugh:
-
i know they grow really quick!!! Bella is starting 2 form her words really well and when i think shes 7.5months nearly it seriously only feels about 2months since i was in hospital. Uknow the funniest thing Tan Annabelle Marie was going 2 b Isabelle Jade. How did she go at the beach i really want 2 take Bella to the beach just unsure how'd she's go with the sun and sand and stuff.
Omg, shes over 7.5months..............im getting teary as i dont want her 2 grow 2 fast!
-
Thats funny Kass!! Annabelle Marie is a gorgeous name too!!! She was fine at the beach, I was a bit worried at first about the sand etc... but she just LOVED it! It wasnt too windy so there was no sand spraying up which I hate! She loved standing in the water and feeling the waves come up on her feet but it was too cold to in there so we put her in a little rockpool that was nice and warm and she sat in it for ages! She kept trying to pick up the sand too - so cute! I have pics in my sig - just go to Isabelle - January!
-
at 1st i thought she looked like ur DH but now i think she looks like u! Dont u love it when ppl say that.......hehehe.
Shes 2 cute with her lil hat on, what a beach babe, which car was urs the one on its roof or the other 1?
-
Whoo hoo go Izzy!!! Wow they are all growing up so fast, it's insane! Wonder who will be first to walk, I'm guessing Blake at this stage but your little girls are so very smart I wouldn't be surprised if either of the Izzy's go first. I don't want Blake walking, he is hard enough to chase around now as it is, I don't think he has the mental capacity to deal with walking IYKWIM?
-
ashlee i think Blake will b the 1st 2 walk, i know it wont b Bella shes only just crawling but i think we have a future talk show host on our hands, shes really starting 2 make her words make sense its scarey she'll b answering back in no time!
-
Heehee - Kass our car is the silver one - not the one upside down- crazy hey! No one had a scratch on them and yay fingers crossed I get it back tomorrow! Izzy coos and screeches but doesnt really talk - definately a mover not a talker which is weird with me for a mum! :D
Ash - I would say Blake for sure!
-
Can I come back pretty please? Some of you may remember me as Lis with bubs Elena????
Sorry I kind of disappeared and now I kind of feel stupid for doing so. Some of you may remember the hard time I had breastfeeding and with DDs reflux and I had to switch to formula. Anyway to cut a long story short a comment was made on BB which really upset me at the time (it wasn' t anybody on May baby buddies) and I was so upset that I just didn't come back until fairly recently. And then I was worried to come back to this thread cos I have been gone for so long and felt like I have been so rude to not even say why.........anyway sorry girls but I have been lurking a bit and hopefully you will all take me back lol!!!
Anyway little Miss calls.........BBL.
-
Awww Lis no need to apologise sweety and welcome back to you and Elena!!! How funny when I saw you had posted here after my post in the other thread - I thought to myself oooh yay she made it!!! :D Anyway welcome back and I cant wait to hear all about how your little princess is going hun!
ETA - Im off to mothers group in a sec so you wont have to keep reading my BILLIONTH post about me myself and I - :cryinglaugh: Can you tell Ive been housebound with no car for a week and every time somebody posts in here my reply is about .03 seconds behind it! I'll shuddup now and go!
-
Hey Lis - welcome back!!!! How is Elena going?? What is she doing these days??
Tan, I have been doing the same thing - I need to move from this computer!!!! I have just been watching all those montages that peope have made of their births, and it makes me really sad cause I don't have any photos of my second brith, very very quick labour and pushed as soon as I got to hosp so kinda forgot camera!! Then with Angus, we had videod it but it got wiped - long story, lotsa tears! I have photos of my first birth. Think I should put pen to paper and that will make me feel better about having records of each birth.
Anyway, going to try and do some washng while there is knda a little sunlight. Have dr's appt 1.30pm, will check back in and let ya know the spotty throat verdict!!!
-
Hello there May Mummies and bubbas!!
I just wanted to sneak into your thread and ask you a little question! Very insignificant really, just for my curiosity :)
Does anyone still have their car seat still rear facing?? After seeing that thread on BB a while ago I decided to keep my DD seat RF for as long as possible but I don't know anyone else IRL that still does it so just wondering if any of you guys still do or are all your bubs turned around by now?
Anyway..continue back to your regular posting now!!
Thanks!
-
hey sangie im only new and im glad ur back here so i can get 2 know u and learn about ur lil girl, tell me a lil about urself as i was not here when u were last time.
Lee: i only just turned my seat around coz mine says 8kg and over and i guessed she was 8kg, i was wronge she wasn't so i freaked and rang my health nurse, she said if they have full control of there neck there fine 2 b turned around.
-
Thanks for the welcome back girls.....gosh I have heaps to catch up on!
Anyway will update later as I'm just about to head out.....have a lovely afternoon, be back tonight!
-
YAAAAAAAAAY LISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Fianlly someone from my belly buddies is back hehe!
-
Hey Lis. Welcome back. I could strangle whoever made what was obviously a rude and insensitive comment. God knows I copped enough of them when I switched Iz to formula too. Some people!!! So glad to see you back. How is your gorgeous princess going? Has her reflux eased up now? Iz has been a kazillion times better so I hope Elena is too.
I hope Blake is the first to walk - please don't let it be my Iz!!! Her crawling is so good now am having to close doors to keep the little monster in! She chased the cat over about 40 metres yesterday - the cat was NOT impressed!! I think she'll probably pack up her little fur balls and leave home when Izzy learns to run after her.
Tan - enjoy your mother's group. I hope its not too hot for you and Iz out there. And YAY for Izzy pulling herself up. What a clever little poppet.
Lee - Izzy is still rear facing and will be until at least 12 months. It would be a lot easier if I can turn her around to face front when I need to have Ned's seat fitted, but if she's still so little I'll just have to deal with it - IMO its not worth risking their little heads and necks for a bit of added convenience.
Kass - like Ash said, Izzy has never ever re-settled during the day. It doesn't matter if her room is pitch black or bright sunshine - when she wakes from a day nap that's it. I'll sometimes get lucky and get a 2 or even 3 hour nap out of her, but they're pretty few and far between these days. Still, I'll take short day naps if it means I get the night sleeps I do!
Shell - so sorry you're dealing with a house full of sick kiddies. Hopefully its nothing too serious, and something that will be cleared up quickly so you can all get back to normal and get some sleep.
Had my OB check up this morning - still no weight gain after 10 weeks. YAYYYYYY! I've eaten at least 3 truck fulls of chocolate over the past few weeks so I should have put on about 20kgs. God I love that aspect of being pregnant!! Not so happy with the $1,850 bill I just got so off to Medicare . . .
-
Hi guys,
A majorily quick post. We have all survived my first week of work with a few tears but hey we made it. I'll be back later to catch up with the personals and fill you in on our first week but I am in desperate need of mummy and bubby time so BBL.
-
Shell- lots of tears here too and I know when I wrote Isabelle's birth debrief it made me feel a whole heap better so get that pen to paper honey. I hope the kids are all ok.
Lulu - yay for no weight gain!! thats great!! I cant believe you how fast its going!!
Lee - I'm keeping Izzy rearward facing for as long as I can. I had a chat to the girls at MG today too and they are all either the same age to 2 mths younger and they are all keeping them backwards for as long as they can. I think I said this in the post that you are talking about but in a serious crash I would rather her have problems with her legs than lose her life. IMO even though they have head and neck control its not enough in a serious crash. HtH!!! and you are welcome to stay and chat with us as long as you like!!! :D
Dan - So glad to hear work went well hun, enjoy your mummy bub time!!
Wasnt gone long was I?!! Off for a swim its so hot here and Ive just cooled down from our walk back by sitting in front of the a/c!
-
ok guys Bella isn't happy so cant write 2 much ill BBS once lil miss has decided when she wants 2 sleep just thought i should let u know there's MORE photos of Bella i know iv gone a lil crazey but i took some new ones 2day as we're bored coz its 2 hot 2 leave the house. so enjoy!
-
OK, firstly, Lee, yes our seat is still rearward also!! I watched that video also and it scared me!!! I will be leaving it that way for awhile as he still reg sleeps in the car anyway!
Well we went to the Dr, Eldest DD has throat infection and fluidy ears so has Ab's. Middle DD has SEVERE throat infection, chest infection and is generally feeling very crappy - ABs also!! Angus however has a bit of a red throat but Dr said he is pretth good, so not sure what all the screaming was about last night, but anyway he is the healthiest and for now doesn't need ab's, only to go back if he gets worse! What a day! I then had to get some groceries before we all starved!! I had to get veges for Angus, and have his dinner on now cooking.
Anyway, Dan, can't wait to hear all about work. I am so nervous abouyt going back, am curious to see how you went - and Livvy!!!
BBL again, have to put the rest of the groceries away before the kids eat everything!!!
-
Wow you girls have been busy!!!!!
Quick update from us
Ethyn has started to climb up on my leg and stand while I'm sitting on the lounge. Its quite scary, he tries it on his fold up sofa and ends up nearly falling over, the other day, he lent on the soft bit and hit his head on his toy box in the lounge, I laughed, hubby called me a "sadist" for laughing, but its such a great distraction for Ethyn, no tears, just a giggle!!
They told me this morning at CC that he is crawling, but not sure if its crawling or his usual movements, hope its not crawling, if it was I missed his first crawl :(
A big "hi" to everyone. Will try and catch up with personals over the weekend when I have a chance to read what everyone is up to
-
OMG where to start??? Warning this post will probably be very long and I probably won't get to everyone lol!
Firstly congrats Lulu on expecting another princess! I also think you are very brave lol! Have you got a name picked out yet or is it a secret? Oh and yes Elena's reflux has completely gone, she is such a happy little girl now.
Shell I hope your kiddies get well soon, poor little things. I don't know how you cope with all of them being sick. I hope you don't get it too hun :(
Tan wish I had a pool at the moment, isn't this melb weather crazy! How is Izzy going with the heat? I shouldn't complain too much though cos my ILs have a pool, in fact I have just come home from there. Elena loves the pool and splashes around and giggles!
Ash OMG at Blake walking around the furniture! Yikes sounds like you have your hands full. I'm so sorry that you are going through a hard time right now but sounds like you will be so much better off without ex DH. Oh and I reckon Blake will be the first to walk too ;)
Hi Kass nice to meet you, I'm going to check out your photos when I finish this post.
Well things going great with me. Elena is growing up so fast though and I wish sometimes that she would just stop lol! She is an eating/talking machine at the moment. She eats 3 huge meals a day plus still has 4 bottles! She also never stops talking. So its all about food and chatting lol just like her mummy :D She can now say dada, mama, baba (bottle!) and just started saying nana. She also gives very sloppy kisses on demand! She is not crawling and has no desire to do so.........she has been sitting up by herself since 5 months and is very happy doing that while she babbles all day! Although she does do a backwards like shuffle occassionally. She has no toothy pegs yet but a couple of big lumps on her bottom gum so hopefully they are not too far away.
I am going back to work on the 21st Jan, I got a new job for 2 days a week. I'm sad but also excited at having extra money! My mum will look after El one day and my MIL the other day. Dan I hope your return to work wasn't too stressful. I'm dreading the first week but keep telling myself that its only 2 days
I also have some recent photos. Gotta go, DH is kicking me off the computer......
-
Hi Guys started trying to catch up on what has been happening but it was hopeless! Things have been very busy on the home front here!! I feel like I am back at work. DH got offered a new job on Xmas Eve and which was for better money and it meant he would be off the tool. Instead of being a concreter his new role is a civils supervisor and he is actually working for the engineering company and not the concreting company. He still works 4 weeks away 1 at home thou :( The other thing was that he is a subbie again! and we couldn't use his business we needed to be a company. And I tell you now that it isn't easy at this time of the year to be doing that and organizing workers comp and public liability etc........oh and I have to start book work again...... was kind of enjoying not having to worry about gst etc
We also decided to sell DH's work truck and our ski boat before he went back to work. So I have been in charge of that as well.
Good ol' eBay! It is funny cause when replying to any questions that we get (which I have been bombaded with!!!) I have been adding 'cheers' to the end of the reply and they all think that they are talking to my hubby  So when they have asked to come and have a look at either the boat or the truck I told them to 'ring my wife' aka ME to organize a time
Oh and I also have registered my business name (finally!) Memories 4 Ever Photography. Was hoping to have had my website organized by now but the company setup took priority. And I think it is going to take another good month before I can start properly trading.
Well enough about me!
Ashlee it must have something to do with the name cause my Izzy is walking around everywhere along furniture and she holds on to my legs to go where I go!!! It is so cute we play peek a boo through my legs LOL Actually yesterday she stood on her own for about 4/5 seconds I freaked out!!!
Sangie don't worry I am in and out of here all the time am always so bl**dy busy that I don't get in here as often as I like. WELCOME BACK
Lee I still have th car seat RF I just haven't got around to getting it changed and she is happy that way still. We play games when we go out. I knock on the back window and she will giggle and wave.... I might do it in the next month but might have to go get her weighed first hmm better put that on the to do list
Lulu LOL feel sorry for your cat! Atleast the cat will be getting exercised! 40m is a good sprint
Alright have to go the fan in the office isn't working and I am working up a sweat
Sweet Dreams Everyone xx
-
I can't catch up at the moment LOL But YAY for all the development and that all bubbas seem to be progressing wonderfully. It's so funny that half are talkers and half are more physical...who'd have thought?
Blake said BUBUBUBUBUBUB for about 3 minutes this morning! YAY!!
-
Yeah and funny how mines a talker, surprise surprise not! LMAO! DH doesn't get a word in! Cheeky monkey pulled herself up in her cot this morning, wish I had seen it.
-
Yay on Elena pulling herself up sweetie...once they start they don't stop lol!
ETA: Toothy peg 6 today...insanity I tell ya! He now has 3 on top and 3 on bottom, a bit skewiff but that's my boy lol!
-
Yes i agree Ash. Angus is def a talker!! He says Mum, Dad, bub and babbles anything all the time!!! He is not prop crawling on hands and knees yet only commando. He has mastered though this last week the fine art of getting from belly to his bum. Very clever when I put him to bed and he sits up and screams!! He has pulled himself up on the rails in the cot once but I left the rail down (smack smack) and now leave them up and he cant grab it!
