i have been trying to get mason atleast on all fours but he cracks it. He just wants to sit up and bounce up and down lol
But he can say mum and dad now.
Another thing too which is soooooooo weird. We have the cot base up at the highest position, and the cot sides are always dropped. But mason NEVER even rolls or tries to get out.
When he wakes at night, he cries but lays completely still! weird hey
-
shellbelle: Im glad u found out what those dots were and that everyone will soon b on the mend!
Ashlee: I cant believe Blake has got 6 teeth!!! Bella hasn't got one yet, though im teething, my wisdom tooth is coming through. She had her very 1st vegemite on bread 2day and loved it.
Mmm's first: Hey there i havent met u b4, so hi
-
Ash - OMG at Blake, everything!!! He is growing so quickly and doing so much. How gorgeous. I can't believe your little man has popped through 6 teeth. Wouldn't mind betting another two aren't far away. Apparantely they pop through pairs close together.
Danni - Mason will do what he wants when he wants, LOL! See Olivia won't bounce at all. She doesn't get it but Mason does. And he's talking, that's huge! How is the sleeping coping?
Tan - Did you get your car back?? If so happy with the results?? It sounds like Iz is going the same crawl (if that's what we can call it, LOL!!) as Liv. It is just so gorgeous. I saw your post about Iz's cuddles. They are amazing aren't they? I adore my cuddles. Take a tip from me, don't worry about getting ready for work spend every available minute with your little girl. It's amazing how much you miss them.
Kass - I can't believe how much Annabelle is saying, it's amazing. Livvy isn't saying any words but makes lots of sounds and squeals. How are you going finding people to meet in personal in Ballarat? Glad your little girl enjoyed her vegemite. Livvy adores vegemite sandwich for lunch.
Lulu - How you feeling gorgeous?? Little Iz coping with heat ok?
Lee - Olivia car seat is still rear facing and it is going to be rear facing for as long as we can. The difference in the safety is huge so we have decided to keep her rear facing.
MMM - It's so good to hear from you and that everything is going so well. You'll have to let us know when your website is up and running so we an all have a sticky nose. You are going to be one busy lady running your business and doing the book work for both and let's not forget your most hectic job, being a mum.
Shell - Gee your house wouldn't be much fun at the moment with three sick kids. Did you get any sleep? Glad the kids are all on the mend though.
Liz - Welcome back darling. I promise you will not get any unsupportive posts in here. We are here to help and support each other through everything and not to judge each other. I'm so sorry someone made you feel so bad that you felt you had to leave BB.
Well we survived a week, just. Livvy has been quite unsettled when I work evenings and poor Dave has a screaming little babe for about two hours but we aren't sure if it the heat, teeth or the big changes in her life over the last week. We'll just have to ride it out and see how she goes. Last night was the worst, but thankfully I was home so we can both settle her. I was so upset and the mummy guilt was absolutely terrible. I bawled because I felt guilty for leaving her but I know I have to then I felt guilty because I spoilt her and wouldn't let anyone else do it for me so she is so used to only me settling her and that has caused more problems now for her. I was so miserable, crying and of course took it out on Dave, poor hubby. It's going to take a while for us all to adjust but we'll get there. I did enjoy work and it was great to be earning some money again so I don't feel like a sponge. But the fact that I enjoyed work made me feel even worse. It is most definitely a work in progress though.
Livvy is now offically crawling and getting into everything. It is so gorgeous. When she gets excited or when we are going to pull her away from something she isn't alowed to touch she is too excited to crawl so she crawls/commando crawls/crab crawls. It's amazing! Our babies are simply amazing!
We had Livvy at the MCHN today and she is great. Doing everything she should be and nothing she shouldn't so she's okay which is the most important thing. We had her weighed and wait for it ................. she's a whopping...........6690grams! She is just so teeny tiny. We are just hanging in the bottom of the green in her weight chart. What made us laugh is the nurse said that she is going to slow down on her weight gain now she is crawling. When did she start?!?!?!?
Anyway, I'm off to have lunch while Livvy is sleeping. How stinking hot is it??
Catch up later guys,
Luv Dan

Shell-Can't wait till Blake says mum, he has sounded like he's said it but I'm not convinced. Good on him for gettig himself up to sit, too cute!! I've fogotten to but the side up too, only to find him climbing it, so don't stress we all do it in a sleep deprived haze I'm sure.
Danni-I don't think you need to worry about him falling out till he is rolling proficiently and pulling himself up. Does he ever sit in his cot though? If so you should either put the side up or lower it, JMO.
Kass-Ohh I should try Blake with some bread and vegemite I'm sure he'll like it. Don't worry those toothies will come soon, then watch out for biting!
Dan-His top pair and bottom pair came through in pairs but he has cut 2 rogues this time, not to worry I'm sure the other 2 will follow. I'm glad you survived your week at work if only just barely. Stop with the mummy guilt, I'm sooo happy you enjoyed work, you have such a great job and I'd die to have the smarts to do what you do, it must be so rewarding!
Well Blake gave in to being awake after almost 5 hours, naughty little brat hehe. I had a good sleep last night as did he (only 2 wakings and i was only up with him for 5 mins total) and he slept till 7:30, so I'm pretty chillaxed for once!
-
Oh Dan, hopefully Livvy is just upset with teeth or something, but I'm sure she will adjust to the changes. I think it is harder for you!! How did she go with bottles?? Are you still going to BF when you are home? Sorry to bombard you with questions, but my DH isn't happy at me doing one day a week, he wants me to go back a lot more. I think I will stay with my set shifts for now, and we are always busy anyway and there ar extra's always going, so i might just pick up shifts when I feel like ithaha (prob never!!) No, I might just squeeze one more in during the week or a few hours on a Sunday or something. He is just panicing asd this is an expensive time of year for us (car rego, insurance and rates) Oh, not to mention both the girls birthdays!! Yikes!!
She is petite isn't she!! I havent had Angus weighed since his 6mth needles and he was 8kgs then!! Must go back when everyone is feeling better round here! I can feel myself getting sick now, so am just hanging around the house doing....basically....NOTHING!!!!
Better go, I am starving, am trying to eat healthy and nothing healthy seems to fill me up iykwim!!
-
Ash, you keep posting when I do!! Glad Blake has been sleeping better for you! Makes life a whole let better hey!!! My girls were beautiful sleepers, sleeping through from 6 weeks. Not so lucky this time!! Oh well 2 out of 3 I spose!!
-
LMAO Shell, I hear boys are generally worse sleepers than girls. Meybe because girls are harder to deal with when they're teenagers? LOL
-
Great Ashlee thats just ignited my fears of having a girl again, i just got over them............lol
-
So i have been told!!! I have twin cousins girls who are about to turn 15, and OMG they give their Mum a hard time!! I so do not want my kids to grow up!! I want them to be my little babies forever!!!
-
Thanks guys for replies on car seats...interesting to hear what others do...like many of you I couldn't bear to imagine what might happen to their little necks if their was a car accident :(
-
Lee I think I'm the exception regarding carseats - Blake is forward facing, but he is way too long for his seat when he is rearward facing, which I feel is more of a risk.
-
nah Bella is facing foward now also, i was feeling really scared the way u guys r talking i thought id done the wrong thing but shes quite a tall bubs and wont fit the other way.
-
We are still rear facing as well but probably not for too much longer as she is getting quite tall.
OMG Ash 6 teeth!! We don't have any yet lol! Yay for the good night sleep. I feel so lucky as little Miss is a great sleeper, please don't slap me lol!
Dan I'm sure you guys will get yourselves into a good routine soon, sending you some cyber hugs though. First week was bound to be tough. I start work soon too and I'm in two minds about it. I'll miss Elena like crazy but I'm also looking forward to some adult company and getting to use my brain again lol!
Hi Kass, Elena doesn't have any teeth either yet. Although I can see her bottom two but they are taking ages to cut through. They have been just sitting there for weeks. BTW Bella is such a cutie!
MMM glad things are going so well, you will be one busy mumma!
Shell glad to hear you are all on the mend. I agree just work the minimum you have to lol!
Tan I heard about your accident, yikes how scary.....hope your car is returned to you soon as good as new.
Danni Elena also cracks it on all fours and then just rolls over onto her back and sits up! I don't think she will ever crawls, she is just not interested.
Well we have added another word! Today Elena said ' wow wow wow' ha ha I say ' wow ' to her when she sees something fascinating and today she said it when she saw our dog run by.

Shell I am so incredibly lucky to work in a maternity ward where we have 8 breast pumps which I have full access to. I just take my own attachments (bits that touch my bb's) and use the pump at work. The girls I work with are amazing about my expressing. I get two lactation breaks a shift and the girls won't let me use my dinner breaks at all for it. They are so understanding and considerate it's great. The only problem is my bb's don't express well on a pump. I can only ever get what's stored in my bb's as I don't get let down. I only ever get a total of 100 - 150mls after two expresses. I don't think my milk is going to hang around for long. Livvy has been b/f for 8 months so if it does happen I'm okay with it.
Ash I absolutely love my job. I'm one of the lucky ones. You are giving me too much credit though. You don't need to be smart to be a midwife you need to want to do it. That make sense?
Thanks for your support with me going back to work and letting me getting all of my chest. You guys are just fantastic. THANKS!!!!
-
Girls guess who has had their babe, TESS!!!!!!!!!! Found this in the birth announcements.
Congratulations Tess and DH on the arrival of Keira Louise.
Arrived at 5.15am, 9 January 2008
2.8kg or 6lb 3oz
3 weeks early
I'm so happy for her I'm nearly bursting and crying at the same time.
-
Oh my lord - just quickly stepping in to say YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for Tess!!!!!!!!!!
Tears here tooo!!!!!! :D
-
OMG Congratulations Tess and DH........oh that is such wonderful news (teary eyed here too) can't wait to hear more!
Just a quick one from me tonight, had a busy day with people coming to look at the boat. Can you believe it I got sunburnt!!!!!!! I new it was hot but wasn't even thinking about the fact that each time I was going out that I might get burnt! - I look like Rudolph
Dan that is nice of work to let you have that time to express. You never know with expressing more often you might find that you will get more to fill the bottles with as the weeks go by. We can't forget how efficient our little ones have become. I don't think I can get more than 20mls these days, but even after a feed I can still get milk.
And can't remember who said but will let you know when I have the website done. Probably be done by mid next month. :crossfingers:
And Yes I will be one busy mumma! Especially since the company tax is going to be more involved than the business tax was. I have asked my mum to come and look after Izzy one day a week while I sit and do all the book work.
Well gotta go my face is burning :(
.........Oh and hi to everyone else
Chat later lovelies x
-
You guys are so chatty!!!
Way to go Tess!!! Congrats!!! :confetti:
No time for personals tonight, I have people over for drinkies tonight and I am printing out my brochures for my website, I am trying to get some local business so I can make enough money to pay off my credit card and have some money put aside for my trip home to Canada in May. I have 120 engagements to print up this weekend too!!!
Anyway better get back to my guests while I let the printer do its thang. Have a great weekend!!!
-
What are you lovely Melbourne ladies up to on Jan 28th? I am heading down for the day and night because Juz is going to BDO and I would love to catch up!!!
I will do a post in Vic meetups but let me know if you are interested!!!
-
Oh, lucky you Sarah!! Wish I was closer!!
Dan, It is great you get support to express!! Do you work at a public hosp?? I do, and we are the same, are entitled to 2 x 30mins expressing breaks per shift (8 hrs). I am in neonatal so we also have breast pumps so am lucky that way too. I am just so worried how Angus will go o/n without me. We are going to do a test run tomorrow night, I am going to be at home but "not", I will sleep in girls room so ANgus doesn't know I am here, and DH has to do all the feeding/settling etc. Fingers crossed, I am just hoping he doesn't scream!! Maybe I should wear ear plugs also haha!
ANyway, I am thinking I should go to bed. Am just waiting for this stupid comp to do a virus scan and check, just downloading new one and it has to do complete system check, what a PITA!!
Take care lovelies!
-
Sars - I may be around then, I will know closer to the date, but I will pencil the date in!!!
-
-
Yay!!! I think I am booking in at the Nova Stargate even though Juz wants to get somewhere in Flemington. I think that it is fair that he travels and not me because I can't go to BDO  I hope we can have most of us there. Tan have a sickie if you are supposed to be working ;)
I hope everyone slept well!! I have just gotten up, I had too many drinkies last night and I am feeling sore. Still tired even though I went to bed at one or two. Time for bacon and eggs :D
-
 I'm not going to be able to make it :(
You'll have to take my cut out again.
-
Aw wish you could make it Dan :( I should be able to be there - my official first day back is the 29th.
Quick question - if I give Weet-Bix to Iz is cows milk ok - I read that some people do in other threads but just wanted to check here to see what you guys think! So hard to know! Also I wanna make oatmeal for her too - she loves the jarred one but I hate giving her that too regularly - any ideas on how to make it - I have no idea!
-
Yay Tess. Best news ever. I was reading your post Dan and ended up blubbering, not just crying. DH was just staring at me wondering what the hell was going on!!
Dan - Livvy is such a tiny girl isn't she. Still, and no offence her to the gorgeous boofs of our group, having a little one myself I do love the littlies. A friend of mine's 18 month old only weighs 9kgs - needless to say, that weight graph doesn't work for her!! Sorry Livvy's been unsettled the last few nights. I think it probably is something else like the heat or teething, but maybe compounded a little by her mummy not always being there. Iz had a couple of nights last week (week before?) where she just screamed - no new teeth, no temperature, just endless screaming. And of course, she's now at the stage where if something's wrong she wants her mummy, not her daddy!!!
Tan - my MCHN said cow's milk is ok for "normal" babies at this stage, just not my Iz cos of her lactose intolerance. I would probably try it but maybe do a half/half with water to start and see how her little tummy goes.
Sorry everyone - will catch up later with personals. Heading off for a walk with DH and Iz - going to check out the new cafe down at the local fresh provision market. If you never hear from me again its because I'm still there working my way through the little cakes and fudges!!
-
The milk issue is a tricky one. I can't give it to Livvy because of her excemza I have to be really careful introducing dairy foods but it really depends on the babe. Give it a try, wait a few days to see if she has any reaction and if all is ok go for it.
-
Tan I haven't given DD cows milk yet but like the other said maybe try a little bit and see what happens? I gave DD weetbix with a bit of formula and she just spat it all out! I've just started trying oats, I just bought the quick oats and made some up with formula. She seems to like it better than weetbix and this morning ate the whole lot with a bit of banana mixed into it woo hoo!
OOoohh Lulu enjoy the cakes, I'm jealous........:p
OMG DD is being a grizzle guts tonight, don't know what's wrong with her but she won't stop crying and of course only wants me. Gotta go...
-
Lis - do you cook the quick oats in any way, or just mix them up with formula and the fruit? I'm trying desperately to find something for Iz that she will eat for breakfast that isn't the jars of fruit and muesli - which she loves, but they're so sweet I'm worried I'm causing difficulties for myself down the track.
-
Lulu- Im having the same issues too with breakfast. She eats like a starved child in the morning, shoudl see it - hilarious, but I dont want to give her a jar each day even though she loves it. Ive been giving her the Apple Oatmeal, Oatmeal with sultana and fig, or the APricot delight and she eats the whole jar - plus I put fruit in with it. All that followed by a bit of toast that I started yesterday. I'd like to do oats or muesli with fruit but have no idea how to go about it. Dumb question but do you have to puree the muesli??!!!
-
hey Tan i gave Bella her 1st lot of weet bix 2day and i gave it 2 her with boiled water, i think cows milk starts later.............she's fussy but loved it, even if u add some cooked apple or something.
-
We give Ethyn the rafferty's porridge with banana and he loves it.
-
I've heard heaps of great things about Rafferty's porridge. I can't wait for Livvy to be a bit older so I can give her some. We can only get the 10 months plus stuff here. Stupid country towns!! Where do you buy Ethyn's from Lee??
For brekky Livvy has farex with different fruits mixed in each day followed by toast fingers. I give her weetbix every now and then but she isn't overly keen on it.
-
Lee, do you mix the rafferty's with formula???
I am just so lazy and couldn't be bothered expressing to mix Angus' cereal. I used cow's milk and water this morning and he liked it, so as long as the milk sits ok I might just use that.
I feel like sh%t today, have caught the kids throat/head cold thing and think I might try and sneak back to bed. Angus finally slept a bit better last night, but still fed him ?3 times I think!!
-
I get the raffertys from our local woolies. I think I have seen it at coles, but not 100% sure.
Dan - if they can get the other raffertys stuff, they should be able to get the cereal range in. We took the food pouches away at Chrissie time, he just loved them!!
Shelle - I just mix it with cool boiled water, it says on the back to start with 4 tablespoon of cereal and add 120-160mls of water, I don't know how much I add, I just add it til I get the right consistency. Hope you are feeling better soon
Ethyn has a bit of a cold at the moment, took him to the docs yesterday and they have given him some amoxyl, not sure on how sick they have to be before they are not allowed to go to child care.
-
hey shellbelle: sorry 2 hear ur sick, get as much sleep as possible. Bella has been waking up also, screaming like someone is killing her, its horrible. Can bubs get bad dreams? It must b the hot weather we've had thats been knocking her around.
Also I give Bella the Hainz baby porriage it must b the same thing as the rafferty's as it also comes in Banana flavour, She had the mango and apple flavour 2day. I feed her a full breast feed then a bowl of that or weetbix with cooled boiled water and she loves it!
-
Lulu I just cook the oats in a bit of water on the stove so that they are a bit mushy and then add fruit/formula. Elena prefers this to weet bix. We also have yoghurt either by itself or mixed with fruit. I tried toast but she doesn't seem to eat much of it, mostly ends up all mushy and all over the high chair and floor! I find that the baby cereals clog her up as they have added iron so I have to avoid them unfortunately.
Shell hope you feel better soon, its awful when everybody in the house gets the same thing one after the other! Time for the kids to look after you lol!
Kass we have also had issues with bubs waking up screaming, wonder if they are having some bad dreams??
Lee hope Ethyn gets better soon, I hate it when they are sick :(
Well Elena has just gone down for her nap so I'm going to go and give my fridge a good clean out (party animal that I am lol!). Have a lovely Sunday arvo....:D
-
I forgot guys and only remember this morning cause I gave it to Livvy this morning. She absolutely loves crumpets. Much easier for them to eat than toast.
-
I LOVE Raffertys. It's the only commercial baby food I give to Mia - I adore it. Expensive, but the 4+ plus ones have absolutely nothing in them but vegies and fruit - not even added water!! BRILLIANT!
I give Mia porridge with full cream cow's milk and a cube of apple and banana every morning - she gobbles it down, and loves it.
I still am having no luck with finger foods though - she loves chewing on her rusk, but has no idea what to do when a piece breaks off in her mouth... same with toast!! I might try crumpets maybe?
-
I found the Raffertys cereal stuff at Safeway near my mums place! Our coles only stocks the lumpy stuff and sometimes the pureed stuff and thats it. She had the banana porridge this morning with a soft pear mooshed in and it was a hit! Kristen I have the same trouble with toast - it goes EVERYWHERE but her mouth - rusks are a hit though!
OMG!! My girlfriend who got married on Izzy's birthday had her baby this morning!!! Remember the one I was meant to be bridesmaid for !! Whooohoooooo!! A girl called Haydn and she is 8lb! Cant wait to go in and have cuddles! Her and Iz are gonna be almost like twins!!! Im so ridiculously excited for her!!! Im about to jump on the tram to Camberwell because I dont have the car and want to get her a nice gift - and all I have within walking distance is Kmart!!! First time on a tram - should be interesting!!
Have a great day all - will catch up properly soon!
