Babies Born May 2007 #15

It totally frustrates me too that my DH can't figure out the most basic of things...what to feed him, what to wear etc etc!!! How hard is it!! I blew up at my DH today because Monday to Friday he doesn't do one thing for Julian or me. He gets up late for work in the mornings runs around and can't even spare 5 minutes for Julian. I'm probably being unreasonable but I'd had it this morning! At the party on the weekend, he was having lovely social chit chats while I was running around preparing and serving food, looking after kids, making sure everyone had a drink and keeping an eye on Julian, I could've killed him!!!

Not to mention dealing with his mother who was fussing too!!! She thought Julian was dehydrated and made a big deal of giving him water and going on an on about it with Pat nowhere to be seen!

Oh the joys of MILs and DHs. I think its hard for DHs to get into their heads that just because we're still around, they CAN take charge of their children for a while. I have to admit that my DH is great with Izzy but he definitely leaves the important things to me like feeding, dressing etc. He's had a bit of a kick up the pants though because over the last few weeks I've just been too tired/sick to run around after her so if he's around, he's in charge. I would kill for even half her energy! I'm sure Pat will survive the occasional blow up Jan and its a very good pressure release for you!

Lis - yay for Ellie's big walk. What a clever girl. LOL at the self congratulating afterwards. You almost need a video going full time don't you. Great news that she had a lovely day with her daddy.

My poor little girl is obviously having tooth issues. I didn't need to get up to her at all, but she had such a disturbed night's sleep and this morning she is so tired. Nasty teeth. I wish they'd all just come through together to get the pain over and done with.

hey guys, just a quick one for me. Frantically trying to get ready for masons party on saturday. Just bought the nibbly food and it cost $200! i couldnt believe it., I got the cheapest of everything too. Not to mention all the drinks, alcohol, party bags, cakes, fruit, decorations etc that ive already paid for. Thank god he is only 1 once!

Quick question. Do babies need to be able to stand on their own before they can walk? Sorry, this is prob a stupid question

Sorry I'm MIA a little bit at the moment but Livvy has got gastro and is really under the weather as you would expect. **TMI** I've never seen so much come out of such a little girl. She hasn't been able to keep anything down at all. One sip of water goes in and four comes out. I am completely out of clothes and bedding and am frantically trying to get some washed and dried for the poor little munchkin. Of course it's raining here :wall:. Dave and I have been up all night with Livvy and washing and drying clothes.
Not only that Livvy came home from childcare yesterday with another kids dental imprint in her check. Some little b!@tard kid pinned her down and bit her :angry:. I'm not a happy mummy. This is the fourth time she has been injured by this kid. I'm really sick of this kid hurting my princess. They say they are watching the kid but I want more done to keep the kid away from Livvy. I better stop as I'm starting to get all worked up again, GGGGRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I better go and chuck on another load of washing and grab a shower before Livvy gets up. Fingers crossed she is coming out the other side of it today and will be better in no time.

On another note, if it was me I would want to choke the little $hit at daycare. I would def be asking to see the director to sort it out, that is not on. You want to go to work knowing your baby is safe in someone elses care. I would be so worried.

We have had some bad news here, Al's Pa passed away this morning. :crying: I've taken the day off work today and we are going down to the country to see his mum and dad in the morning. It was expected - I think I posted a few weeks ago, but it is still a big shock when it actually happens.:(
Anyway will catch you all soon, I might be a bit awol as well over the weekend - will see how we go.

Dan - OMG. How are you not tearing the little sh*t's throat out (not to mention his mother's!!). I'm with Shell about demanding they do something about it. Not good enough if you can't leave your little girl knowing she's safe. I hope her gastro passes quickly.

Shell - you poor love. I hope you get some sleep soon. Not at all good that you're going days without, and definitely not good that you're turning into a mean mummy - nothing like that to make you feel even worse. As for a mean wife, hmmmm. I remember a certain fishing incident??? I'd let your DH deal with it for a while ;)

Tan - I'm so sorry about your DH's pa. Even when it is expected its still very sad. Big :hug: to you all.

My poor little poppet is just not a happy girl. Whatever tooth it is that's coming through is giving her hell. Her little hand is shoved so far into her mouth I'm starting to wonder if maybe its a molar, but isn't it way too early for them? She was disturbed a few times during the night and at one point was just screaming. DH and I were lying on the spare bed upstairs with her sandwiched between us so she'd feel us both and it was the only thing that seemed to settle her. I kept telling her she had to be better for her birthday tomorrow - DH thinks I'm nuts! Had an OB check up this morning and he's happy to just let me wait it out - even said that if I'm still in one piece at next week's appointment when I'll be 10 days over he'll still let me go so long as nothing has changed with Ned. And who said OBs always pushed intervention!!

Gotta go lovely ladies - off to buy things for Izzy's birthday cake. Going to make her a green turtle with a big pink chocolate shell. Mum's worried Ned will come tomorrow so she'll have to make it!!

Julian's top side teeth are coming down and we had a rough night yesterday so I am exhausted today!! Playgroup the other day went really well. Julian played with the other babies and didn't look back to even see where I was!! He was quite eager, maybe too eager, too examine his fellow baby friends but I guess it's all part of it. Hopefully he calms down in the next couple of weeks. A big hi to everyone else.

Ok well nowadays Annabelle and i cant go anywhere quickly i cant even NIP in2 the store 4 milk without her having a convo with strangers! Hahhahahaha its really cute just n the last wk shes changed it just keeps getting better and better! We pick my sis up from the airport on Sunday! 1st meet 4 her and Annabelle!

O also Annabelle is talking sooooooo much some her own language but soooo many real words! Gunna b a chatter box like her mummy!

Thanks for all your lovely words. We went to see Al's parents yesterday and they are doing pretty well considering, now we are just planning and organising stuff for the funeral on Tuesday, plus Al's brother arrives from Canada this morning.

Shelle - Woohoo for Angus walking, know how you feel about a never ending pile of washing, hubby has been doing the washing since yesterday, think he has one load to go, mind you I have no idea why he is washing so much!!!

Tan - I am so happy you are having great support in wanting a VBAC, it would be the best thing to know you have that much support and have no-one putting you down for it. I am sorry to hear about Al's grandpa :hug:

Lis - I know what you mean about hubby not "knowing" thing, I asked hubby to get some dinner ready for Ethyn one night, he had to ask, what do I give him, how much, how warm, where's the paper towel!! I tell ya, makes you want to pull your hair out sometimes, but I guess you just have to bite your tongue and let them do it!!

Jan - so glad Julian party went well, we have finally sorted what we are doing for Ethyn, just have to buy things for it now

Dan - I would be fuming if Ethyn came home from child care with bites on him too, surely the centre can do something, have the parents been told that this is happening?

Ethyn has been good, he's not walking yet, but still walking around the furniture and walking when you hold him up assisted. We are taking him to a paediatrician on Tuesday, I am not happy with all the ear infections and snotty noses that he keeps having, the docs say nothing wrong, so I thought it was better to get a 2nd opinion.
Ok must go, dinner is nearly ready. Have a great rest of the weekend!!!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes ladies. Izzy had a lovely party for everyone else today but the birthday girl was a little overwhelmed by all the people. Its been a beautiful day here so we were out in the backyard but after about 20 minutes she kept trying to come back inside until we just gave up and DH, mum and I took it in turns to have her inside while everyone else enjoyed cake outside. She didn't seem to appreciate my artistic talents making her a lovely green and pink turtle cake either!! She got spoilt rotten (thanks Lis and Elena!) with her KK and everybody else - ponies, books, toys and a great princess sofa that folds out with a sleeping bag in it. She's going from one to the next to the next at the moment although the sofa seems to be a real winner.

Ned might be thinking about doing something. Had lots of trips to the loo today and have lost heaps of my mucus plug so crossing my fingers. Good of her to wait until her big sister had her birthday celebrations completed!

Lee - I'm not sure what I hope for you with the paed visit. While its never nice to hear something is wrong, sometimes its nice to at least have a reason for things that you feel shouldn't keep happening. Hopefully its nothing at all serious though and your little man is fine.

Tan - I hope the funeral goes as well as these things ever can for you and Al. Sending you big hugs.

Lulu I won't be at all surprised if you go in the next two - three days. I never thought you would go early as you wanted so badly to have Izzy's 1st birthday and I honestly believe that we have some control. I can't wait to hear all about Ned's safe and quick arrival. How's the name coming along?

I'm really tired so sorry for not getting to everybody! I went out today with a couple of girlfriends who I hadn't seen for a while and it was so much fun - just a casual day out for lunch and some shopping. Ellie spent some time with my sister today who has come to the realization that babies are a lot of hard work lol - hhhmmmm think I have sorted her out for contraception ha ha !

I've had enough of the waiting. DH and I are going to gold class this afternoon. I had a dream when I was a week off due with Izzy that my waters broke in gold class (we were going the next day) but they didn't, so I'm hoping I was just a year out. Nothing like booking expensive, non-refundable movie tickets to get the kid moving!

Hi to everyone else! Mason had his birthday party on Saturday and OH MY GOD, never ever again. We had 50 adults and 20 kids and it was so full on. it cost us around $600. And there was so much food wastage....grrr im so angry.

Anyway it went really well and he got spoilt but luckily didnt double up on anything and got reazlly practical things. Heaps of really fun books and educational toys. So im glad!

So my house looks like a bomb site with dirty washing, dishes etc from camping, and now we have to go out and leave a big mess!!!! Oh well! Still here. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. After such a sh*tty few weeks with pains I've had almost nothing for the last couple of nights. I'm starting to wonder if this baby is all in my mind and I've really just been eating waaaay too much! It was a good movie though - if anyone gets the chance go and see Iron Man. Sooooooo over this now. We came home from the movie last night and Izzy ran right past me to go to DH. Made me so sad. I know I'm not playing with her like I was, and DH is spending lots of time with her - gets her up in the morning and then baths her and puts her to bed at night. I know I should be happy she's not clingy anymore but it just makes me so sad. Getting a bit depressed . . .

I often feel the same lulu, I get rejected by Julian for nearly anyone - his grandparents, aunties, uncles and most especially DH. The clinic nurse told me it is a good thing, that they have a healthy attachment to us and it means they feel loved and secure and know we will always be there in the wings waiting for them. It still sucks when they run off to their dads though doesn't it!!

I hope Ned doesn't make you wait too much longer...maybe she is hanging out for Mothers day :) I can imagine you would rather be anywhere else that day, though it would be some mothers day present!

Lulu NED is hanging out to be bORN ON FRiday so she can have the same birthday as me and Livvy!!!! I have to say it is a fantastic day to be born :D.
I completely appreciate who upsetting it is when our little PRINCesses choose their dads over us. I hat it too and Livvy is a HUGE daddy's girl and doesn't mind showing it. Breaks my heart some days. But I agree with what Jan said, it is a sign of a well adjusted baby so congrats on doing such a great job with raising your princess!

Hi all, just back from the funeral and we are all exhausted. It was an absolutely beautiful day with some lovely memories of Pa, lots of tears but some laughter and overall it was a great tribute to a lovely man. Izzy was a little angel - fell asleep after a short walk with my mum during the service, and quietly chatting during the private cremation. Such a treasure and in some ways made our day a bit brighter.
Anyway I am waaaay too tired to post personals, have been reading though but have to say Lulu - hang in there hun, I know it's tough but not long to go - remind me of that won't you in a few months time!!!
