Hi ladies. Just a very quick one - I'm VERY tired!! My second little princess was born at 5.10 am this morning and thank God, we managed to be home by 3.30 pm this afternoon. I hate hospitals!! Thanks Dan for the announcement
Anyway, her name is Elena Claire (we think!) and so far she's basically slept since birth with four breastfeeds thrown in. Labour was incredibly quick - 3.5 hours all up and completely drug free. Not what the plan was but will fill you in over the next day or so once I've had some sleep!
Tan - yay for your great scan and news of a little man cooking away in there. Huge congratulations on having a loving pidgeon pair!

Tan & Sangie - Thanks for the birthday wishes for me and Livvy.
So far we have had a fantastic day. Livvy woke up at 5am with a dirty nappy but quickly snuggled into our bed and slept until 7am when we both got spoilt with pressies. Livvy got a Trike and I got a sewing machine and an Willow tree angel. Dave is so upset today because he bought the trike in Melbourne and when we opened it today it only has two wheels. He is so upset and feels like he has ruined Livvy's birthday because he should have taken it back and asked for another one which didn't look like it was open. I would hate to be the store person who answers his call. I've tried to tell him that Livvy doesn't mind and she can ride her trike when we get another one. Thank god Dave has training in Melbourne next Tuesday/Wednesday or otherwise we would be well and truely scr@wed. Anyway after opening our pressie livvy fell back asleep until 11am - what a pressie for mummy that was :D. We have just gotten home from a great lunch with Dave so it has been just fantastic.
Well I better go and get some jobs done for Livvy's party tomorrow. i can't wait til her (well our) party.

Well I'm sick as a dog, damn flu :( Just hit me overnight and absolutely floored me, but I trudged along at work.
Blake has been diagnosed with sleep apnoea, recurrent ear infections and enlarged tonsils, so on 26 May he is off to get gromets, tonsils and adenoids taken out. It's $1000 out of pocket as an intermediate patient (I'm definitely not waiting 6 months plus publicly) and Scott said he will not contribute....seriously, that guy has rocks in his head I swear.
Guess what?!?!?!?! I GOT MY OWN PLACE AND IM MOVING TOMORROW!!! It's a 3 bedroom townhouse, secure complex,2 toilets, seperate lounge and dining, large covered courtyard, seperate laundry and a lock up garage! I am so enthralled by it all, I've never lived on my own so I am extremely excited.
Oh, and Dave and I worked things out LOL Thing might just be getting a little brighter after all. OH and even better, Scott and his new girlfriend broke up hahaahaha serves him right.
Sorry to be a selfish pig but I'm getting a little dizzy so I better run!

Things are slowly falling into place here. Izzy is NOT happy with her new sister. She is very whingy and is throwing some serious tantrums. She also gets very upset when Elena cries. I'm hoping it will all sort itself out very soon. Having said that, I've had some incredibly beautiful moments when I've been feeding Elena and Iz will come and sit against me and just stare at Elena and stroke her hands. Unfortunately we haven't been able to get any on camera yet but I'm still hoping. I'm a bit terrified as to what will happen on Monday when DH goes "back to work". Yeah ok, he's only upstairs but I need to manage on my own with these two and I'm not sure how to do it. At the moment it seems that the second Elena goes on the boob (OMG I'd forgotten just how often it is with a newborn!) Izzy either wakes from a nap, or needs a bottle or a nappy change or just plain cracks it. I think my Mum is going to be getting a lot of "help me" phone calls over the next few weeks. Still, I have to admit that for all my negativity during pregnancy about having a second baby I am totally in love with my new girl.

A quick one from me, we had Ethyn hair cut today for the first time, he was great, just sat there moved a little bit but was too interested in perving on himself in the mirror!!! He looks more like a little boy now than my precious little prince :(

Lulu - i can just picture Izzy stroking Elena's hand, that is such a beautiful image (sigh). It must make all the hard work worth it to see the two of them. I'm sure Izzy will adjust, she must be finding it strange to be sharing your attention. In a few months time, she'll love having Elena following her around :) i can only imagine how hard it is juggling the two of them at the same time. I'm sure your mum would love to help until you get back on your feet again. It sounds like you are doing SO WELL, I doubt I'd be as positive as you just after giving birth, Good on you :)

I am going for a job interview tomorrow for a one day a week job in HR admin for a government department. I hope I get it, but at the same time it will be a change. I am craving something else to think about than nappies, feeding etc etc and seeing other people and not feeling so isolated at home but at the same time I am sure I will miss Julian if that makes sense. We'll see how it goes...it feels like a big step.

Ok. I take it all back. Things are crap! I woke up this morning and literally couldn't lift my head off the pillow - scared the hell out of me. Tried to get up and couldn't do it without falling over and throwing up. After rounds of the hospital, my OB and GP it turns out I have a form of viral vertigo which will last for 6 weeks. Fortunately my mum came over this morning and will be back again tomorrow. Feeling very sorry for myself today . . .
Oh no Lulu.......I don't know what viral vertigo is but it doesn't sound too good, and the timing sucks! Wish I was closer so I could help you with your girls.........thank god for your mum hey? Look after yourself hun :hug:

Mine was not that great, DH didn't even think to get me anything nor did he make any effort whatsoever to make my day special........I am probably just being a sook but it would have been nice to be acknowledged for everything I do for just one day. I think he felt kind of bad that both my mum and MIL gave me a little gift and reminded me of what a great mummy I am. Ok sorry, whinge is now over.........but DH still in bad books until further notice lol.
Lulu- firstly :hug::hug::hug: I hope it clears sooner then 6wks!!!! Lucky 4 mummies, u'll have 2 do it 4 ur girls one day ;) Will all this affect ur milk? Prob not an important question im just curious :redface: GET BETTER SOON!!!! :hug:

I have been feeling dizzy, faint and really sick too and someone mentioned vertigo to me as well so I think I will take Iz and I off to the Dr's today, although my GP isn't in today so I don't know if I should just leave it til tomorrow so i can see him instead of someone I don't know at the clinic. I told DH that he needed to stay home today and look after us, as I can barely look after myself but he went to work with the 'you will be fine" on his way out the door. Men. Honestly.
Tan- Go to the Dr today, you dont want to be in a state where you cant even leave the bed! Even if it's not ur Dr they're going to be able to diagnose (SP) you. Men :rolleyes: but when it's them who have a COLD they're DYING! :lol:
Lulu - That's all you need right now you poor thing. I hope it clears up before the 6 weeks. Vertigo is awful, my mum has had it on and off for 20 years so I know how scary it can feel. Try getting some rest, I know not easy with a newborn, but let your Dh and mum take care of things for a little while.
Tan - I hope you feel better soon too. My DH does that ALL the time, isn't it frustrating!!
Lis - last year on mothers day it was a total disaster! Julian was only a couple of weeks old and my DH took off to get my present ON mothers day as he had gone into the city to some day spa to get it then returned 4 hours later when we had to leave to go to his mums for lunch. I was in near tears in getting myself and Julian ready and wondering where the hell he was! He copped so much crap for last year that this year was much better thankfully and he got a stern warning before this years to be present for all of mothers day! I think DH's can be abit thick in the mothers day department and need a prod. Thankfully your mum and MIL acknowledged what a great mum you are. Don't ease up on your DH, make him feel really bad!!
Unfortunately I didn't get the job, it was filled internally. I'm really disappointed but I'll keep looking. Are there many 1-2 day jobs out there do you think?
