Ladies I think we all need a huge .
Olivia is asleep so let's see how I go with some personals.

Lis - hang in there petal. These first few weeks are the hardest and just do whatever you can to survive and worry about everything else in a few weeks when everything has settled down.

Tan - I've got everything crossed for your sleep school today. Praying that you and your mum find something that works for Izzy. There is a magazine called "Your Baby" which is released yearly and it has 30 tips from mum's on what they used to settle their babies. Might give you some ideas to try out for Izzy. Let us know how you go.

Ash - Hope everything is settling down with you and your AD's are working.

Sez - Did you manage to get your little man down to sleep? I absolutely love your ticker photo. He looks so adorable with his huge hat. Makes me smile everytime I see it.

Tara - You are a supermum having kids and a baby. I don't know how you do it. Don't even worry about the housework. If people have a problem tell them to bugger off or do it for you. I was told to always have the vacuum out because 9 out of 10 visitors will vacuum for you when they visit if it's out. So far it's been working for me. Best of luck with your D&C. What do you do about b/f? Does the anaethestic affect your milk?

Lulu - I completely agree with Tara (voice of experience) and when you feel like that order takeaway. I did that last Thursday after a terrible day and being so incredibly exhausted that I got fish and chips and went to bed. We can always cope better with a little bit of sleep under our belts. Did Izzy sleep for you last night?

Danni - What a naughty boy not smiling at mummy. Isn't it weird how we are the one's that spend the majority of our time with them and they behave better and give other people the rewards like smiles. Little terrors aren't they? Do you go out to the shops everyday? Is that the only way you can get some peace during the day?

Jan - Great to hear from you. Glad that you made it out to the dinner. Going out makes you feel like you still have some kind of life apart from being a milk production machine. YAY for mum's!!!! It's fantastic that you have the option of going and staying with your mum for a few days. Hope Julian gives you some rest today and everyday.

Ashley & Sarah - You two must be proud mumma's with such gorgeous little men. I love their photos. I really must do an album but it is unfortunately something that has been added to my to-do-list. Hopefully I'll get to it before she is 18.

Sarah - How is Noah's cast. Is he getting some sleep or is it still hurting the little man?

Alex - So great to hear that one baby is behaving themselves and sleeping for their mummy. Do you get a rest during the day when both your boys are asleep at the same time?

Okay I know that I have missed a few mummies but my computer won't let me go back any further. I'm sorry. But a huge hello and I hope that you are travelling along okay and your baby is letting you sleep.

Last night I had a melt down and layed on the couch and bawled when Olivia settled perfectly for daddy (of course, definetely daddy's girl) and he put her down and then half an hour later when she was in her deep sleep he got her out and gave her to me to hug. I had a mini fit that he got her up because it would ruin all the hard work we've been doing trying to make her settle herself but he said he didn't care if he didn't sleep for the next week because me having a nice cuddle and bonding time with Olivia that didn't involve feeding her was more important than anything. DH is just amazing at times it still surprises me. But that hug was exactly what I needed and she stayed asleep. YAY!!

Well I'm off to grab a quick cat nap before Olivia's next feed. Have a great day ladies and I'm sending out heaps and heaps of
    BABY SLEEP VIBES

    Catch up later,

    Luv Dan and Olivia

YAY!!!!!!!!! Tan that is fantastic news. Don't worry about your bb's not being rock hard it could just mean that your body is getting the hang of Izzy needs and your supply is meeting her needs and not oversupplying. Does that make sense?

Tan & Sarah - What birth announcement designs did you decide on?

Woohoo I made in here for the second day in a row! Elena has been asleep for 30mins now, a record for day time. Here's hoping she's down for a little while.

Tan my bb's aren't getting rock hard anymore either and I was worried that my milk was running out. But Dan is right and apparently it just means that your body is getting the hang of it and not oversupplying.

Dan your DH sounds fantastic! Isn't it frustrating when these cheeky bubs don't settle with mum but will for anyone else...gggrrr enjoy your nap before the next feed!

Tara you are a super mum, I don't know how you do it but I take my hat off to you! Glad to hear that you are doing ok and I have my fingers crossed that you can avoid the D&C. Were you affected by that nasty weather again, I saw something about it on the news yesterday?

Ash hun how are you feeling? Do you have anyone to help you out with Blakey during the day?

Danni how cheeky of Mason to not smile for him mum, don't worry he's probably saving the biggest grins for you!

Sez hope you managed to get your little munchkin down for a sleep. Sending you some bubba sleep vibes!

Lulu your pics are just so gorgeous! Isn't bath time great, these bubs just seem to love it. Good news that your OB appointment went well too.

Alex what very well behaved little boys you have! I have days when I can't get out of my PJs too and I only have one bub to take care of.

Jan lucky you getting to stay with your mum, I hope that means you manage to get some rest. Julians sleep patterns sound a lot like Elena's - cheeky bubs, lets hope for both our sakes that they start to sleep longer soon!

Ok I'm going to go and get dressed and eat something while I still can!
Hello to everyone I've missed and I'll try to catch up with you lovelies soon!

Lis-Nope, no one. I had mum for 2 weeks when she took some holiday time, and god did I love having help with washing, and having time to sleep. Now that I don't have anyone, it's proving to be really difficult. Just a couple of hours a week would really help out, so I could get housework done, but I've got no one

Lis - yay on Elena going down for a sleep. I hope you got a bit longer out of her so you could have some time to yourself.

Ash - so sorry you don't have any backup. I'm guessing your mum doesn't live close by? Hang in there. It has to get better - doesn't it!?!?!

Tan - how's sleep school going? I hope you and your mum are finding some answers.

Dan - that's lovely of your DH to give you a cuddle with your beautiful sleeping girl. Sometimes they do surprise us with their sensitivity don't they! I hope you're getting some more special time with Olivia today.

Tara - I hope Leo is giving your poor BBs a break today. Those growth spurts are murder on us mummies aren't they. Pleased to hear the ABs are working and you're feeling better.

Gotta go - Izzy has been asleep on her own for a whole 2 minutes and is now screaming. Knew it couldn't last. Definitely spoke to soon when I said her reflux and colic were settling down. She hasn't had more than an hour's break from screaming her lungs out.

Ash don't worry about the housework hun, just take care of yourself and Blake. Hang in there, everyone keeps telling me that it will get better as bubs gets bigger. I hope Blake behaves himself today and has a sleep so that you can too!

Lulu have you given Izzy anything for her colic/reflux? Elena still has it as well and its such a battle to settle them isn't it? I hope it settles down soon for both our little girls.

Ok here we go again, guess I was dreaming when I thought that Elena would go down again this afternoon after she slept for 1.5hrs this morning. BBL I hope!

OMG - I can't believe I've finally found a spare second to jump on here!! I'm so sorry I haven't been keeping up again.

Typical, I spoke too soon. Luke is screaming - hopefully I can get him back to sleep as I really need to talk to you guys - we've been having a rough time lately.

Will try and pop back on in a minute and fill you in on the details.

    Take care.

Operation sleep school has been sucessful - in a nutshell I think i was keeping Izzy up too long and she was sooooo over tired, been in somewhat of a routine today- Kristen, very similar to the save our sleep one actually!!

Well I think she is hungry, will try to jump on later tonight- hope you have all had a great day today!!

Sez- so glad you had a good day - makes you feel sooo good doesnt it!! What a little champ Nicholas is!!

Kelly - hugs to you babe - hope you can get online and vent all you like soon.

Lis and Lulu - I hope your angels settled down a bit for you both today and gave you a bit of a rest.

Ash - you poor thing - I wish you lived in Melbourne - actually with this weather let me rephrase..I wish I was in Brisbane so I could give you a real hug, take you out for coffee and just chat - so heres a virtual one anyway....:hugs: Hope you are ok.

Dan - Ive put my birth announcement on my site if you want to check it out- I had done a few others and found it hard to choose but DH liked this one the best. I just did them myself and printed them on our colour printer!! I use a free program i found online called Page Plus Se 1.0 and just copied cards I found online! If you want me to email my other ones to you just let me know!
Thanks for the advice re: my bbs!! Feels strange to have milk there but not feel full after such a long time. Im just now getting real let down feelings too - thats weird as well - and at the strangest times! I might check out the mag you mentioned too.
Glad your little cuddle helped hun - its amazing how hours of screaming, tears (hers and ours) and feeling like we cant go on can be all washed away by a cuddle, or a gummy smile!!

Danni - I lied when i saw you the other day ha ha - I thought I was feeling let down - clearly not because I REALLY felt it for the first time yesterday - and though WTF is going on and then realised!! Its happening at weird times too - like while washing dishes?? and when I get out of the shower - not even when I hear her cry or think about her!! Hope you are well hun and Mason is being a good boy for mum!

Sarah - you are a bit quiet today - hope all is ok with you and Noah hun.

Everyone else - apologies and hope you and bubs are all well!!

Well like I said -today was so good - my mum is great! I really just think that Ive been keeping Izzy up too long during the day and letting her get too worked up and crying before putting her to sleep and then she wouldnt sleep. So today my lovely mum helped me see the little signs Ive been missing that tell me she is tired, hungry etc and we have gone with that - also I think Ive been too scared to put her to bed unless she is already asleep from feeding but she actually settled really well with only a few grizzles.

I even got DH to put her to bed tonight while she was awake - up until now he has been cuddling her and pacing the house every night to get her to sleep - he was so cute though, when she started crying after her put her down - I asked if he wanted to go back and he was all panicked saying - i dont know what to do!! Ha ha - I just said neither do I so lets go together and work it out!!

Ive also put a dark sheet up over her window as the curtains are cream - so I think that helped during the day. So anyway - we had some sort of routine today and fingers crossed we can keep it up- poor exhausted girl!!

Getting my hair done tomorrow night - whoo hoo - looks terrible at the moment and Im feeling a bit down about my jelly belly... Ive lost all my baby weight - 15kgs! whoo hoo but still cant fit into my pre-preg jeans etc because of my belly, its gross. I really dont want to spend money on new clothes either becasue I know it will hopefully eventually go away once i can exercise properly....anyway enough of a whinge about superficial things from me...

Ive also got new pics up - Im putting a few up each day at the moment!!! Crazy snap happy mummy!!

    Have a great night ladies!
Babies - give your mummies a great nights sleep pretty please!!

hey everyone, sorry no time for personals as i need to jump into bed!

Check out my website for a pic of Mason in the hug-a-bub. its our new best friend! Yesterday and today he slept for 3 straight hours in it...i cannot believe it. There is no way he would have slept more than 20 mins without it.

I strongly suggest buying one guys. You can get them second hand too. OMG i wish I had have used it weeks ago!!

Oh btw, I messaged Lee today and made sure her and Baden were ok. She said she is doing well but busy and finding motherhood a bit challenging. I told her that all of us are having troubles in one way or another and to jump online soon.

    Hi Guys,

Sorry, haven't been able to get back on until now. Thankfully my Mum and Stepdad are here tonight helping me out as Ryann is out at a work dinner, then he's got a conference tomorrow and Friday, so I'm staying at Mum's tomorrow night, hoping to get a bit more rest.

So, have to be quick but just need to have a whinge - I've got mastitis AGAIN!! Yep, it's back with a vengence (sp?) in the same bloody problem right boob. I can't believe it, its been even worse this time. I've been really quick sick - very bad flu symptoms and the pain has been horrific. I'm on my second lot of antibiotics now. Just cleared up the last lot and felt like I was on top of all the feeding problems and bang, I get a kick in the face yet again!! The right nipple even cleared up and is looking better, although the last feed I did was getting painful again, so I think we've still got problem there too. I just don't know what to do anymore and have been really quite depressed and down in the dumps. Am feeling a bit better tonight but am starting to wonder whether we need to put Luke on formula. I really don't want to because I've got such a good milk supply and the left boob is just perfect. I'd hate to have to give it up. Luke is thriving on my milk but I can't take much more of this!

Anyway after lots of tears, I think the antibiotics have started working again, so lets pray this is the last of it.

Luke is still great, although we've had a rough couple of days with him too - he's been really unsettled and I think he's getting overtired too. I'm having trouble getting him down during the day but at night he's pretty good - until about 3am!! Then he's been a right little bugger!!! Hopefully tonight will be better.

    Take care!

Tan - I am ok, I had a rough day with Noah yesterday because he wouldn't sleep but he slept during the night and now I am about to soak off his plaster in preparation for the new one today. I am not looking forward to getting up at 4 every Thursday. Well I better dash because I have 2 hours to get ready and it takes an hour to get the plaster off. Will try to catch up tonight or tomorrow!

My god Danni, you are so organised! I can't even bear to THINK about Christmas at this stage! Mind you, now that I think about it, having Christmas with our little man will be very special....maybe I'll actually look forward to the day this year! Don't get me wrong, I'm not a scrooge, I love the day, it's just the build up and the 35, yes 35! presents that I have to buy for our families. Have fun at toys r us!

Sarah, hope all goes well today, and that you're not too tired. It's a big day for you all isn't it? Looking forward to hearing from you when you get back

Oh Kelly, you poor thing What a nightmare, getting mastitis again! Could you try the LC again? I can hear how much you don't want to give up BFing, maybe it's a worth a shot to see if you can keep going for a while longer. Please don't stress if you decide to give Luke formula, he will continue to thrive. He needs a happy and well mummy, you need to do what's best for BOTH of you. I'm thinking of you. If you need to chat when you're on your own, just email me your number and I'll give you a call.

Nicholas is starting to stir, so no more personals form me! Mother's group today for the first time, I'm looking forward to it. Better go and start the long haul to get ready LOL!

    Love to all, Sez xoxo

Danni have a great time at Toys r us, hope you get some bargains! OMG you are one organised chickie thinking about xmas already! I'm so looking forward to my first xmas with Elena, he he can't wait to get her first pics with Santa. Yay on the hug a bub too, I was thinking of getting one as well. How much are they???

Sez have a great time at your mother's group!

Kelly you poor thing I pray that the mastitis clears up soon and stays away for good this time! Don't feel bad about using formula if you have to, your little one will continue to thrive and remember that you need to look after yourself too. I'm sure you'll make the right decision for the both of you.

Sarah I hope Noah has a more settled day today for you.

Tan yay for having some sort of routine with Izzy! I think Elena is also overtired and therefore grizzly but she just won't settle because of her colic. So frustrating for both of us! I hear you on the jelly belly, I feel so frumpy at the moment and I just can't seem to find enough time or energy to do any decent exercise. And I have my brother's engagement party in a few weeks and I'm worried about what to wear. Gonna have to go shopping I think! Yay for your hair appointment!

Well we had another sleepless night, Elena was so unsettled and just wanted to be cuddled and screamed every time I tried to put her in her bassinette. In the end I gave up and put her in our bed. Hope everyone else had a better night!

Okay, let's see how long this one lasts for!

Lis - I've given into the baby in the bed more times that I'd like to admit. Whatever gets you sleep I reckon. I actually got a rocking chair with the baby bonus and it's been worth it's weight in gold. It helps with the hours of screaming, you might not be able to put bubs down, but at least you can sit in a chair and rock. Thanks for asking, we did get the nasty weather which wasn't as bad as they thought it would be, just some really severe wind and as we are right on the beach we got it here pretty bad. DP was so worried about Leo sleeping on his own during it, that we had him in the bed for the night, in his little insert that's designed for safe sleeping in parents beds, but it has to go between our pillows and takes up a lot of room, and I have to sleep with my hand in it so Leo can snuggle with it, it's not that comfy LOL. We saw that ship on Monday too that got washed up up close, it's massive!

Sez - HOw was mother's group? You girls joining up mother's groups are so organized, I don't evne know if there is one in this area. Do you just sit around and talk about babies? Is it organized or more of a get together?

Danni - you are the HAB queen!!! Please let me know is the huge thing easy to tie? After my recent failure with the baba sling, I'm giong to buy another sling, but I'm stuck with what one (I want a soft sling, safe for his back). What's put my off the HAB is tying it, it looks severely complicated and the threads in the sling section on "HELP" about the HAB put me off. So how would you go if you had no one to show you how? YOu are doing so well hun, you've adjusted to motherhood so well, good on you

Sarah - I'm sorry I haven't caught up with you for ages, you've got your hands full with Noah's foot, but I'm so glad you got a specialist that is treating it. How long is the plaster on for all up?

(typing 1 handed now, bubs awake)
Kelly - This is my third baby, and with my first baby DS1 I had 8 bouts of mastitis and still fed till he was 12 months old. The worst bout actually landed me in hospital as it had turned into an absess and had to be drained and I had to have IV antibiotics, DS was one month old. Mastitis is so so painful and your body feels like it's been bashed with a baseball bat, and it's a hard thing to think about facing again. I don't at all blame you for feeling horrid about it all, it's so painful, one of the most painful conditions I've heard. You need to do what's right for you, but I Thought I'd list a few things I did that enabled me to continue BFing. 1)find a good LC, they're job is to help women continue to bf and they treat it like a mission. 2) heat on the affected area is very important....shower on it, heat pack, all helps unblock it. 3)no matter how painfu, continue to feed as baby will drain lump. i put pressure on lump when baby feeds as it will help push it through. Antibiotics will take the infection away, but if yo don't drain out lump, when course of ab's are finished, it will get infected again. So even if u get better, you need to work on lump and get baby to drain it. Once you've had it in one spot, that spot is suseptible and you need to check it for lumps daily. IF it gets blocked again (if there is a lump there), you put pressure on it during feeding and drain it before it gets sore and infected. Now that you know your vulnerable spot, it will be easy for you to keep on top of and watch it before you get an infection. It took my 8 bouts of mastitis to learn this LOL. I have had it once this baby already, but now I'll be more vigilent. So Im watching this spot daily and just massaging out the lump when bubs feeds and I'm on ABs which have cleared the infection up, and have now finally gotten rid of the lump too. I hope that helps anyway, the best advice I can suggest is to definately see a LC and she will be able to show you some good lump-draining techniques too. Now that you've had two bouts of mastitis, you will be priority to see one. If you want to continue to BF it can be done easily, just need to watch your body lots more for those nasty lumps.

Tan - it sounds like you are going so well and congrats on getting your hair done! I have teh jelly belly thing too, especially because Leo was a big boy and my tummy was huge with him, it goes away, just takes a few months from memory. 15 kg is awesome, I'm jealous!

Lulu- I'm sorry to hear Izzy has colic and reflux...is she on meds? I'm sorry if this is old news, I haven't been able to read up as much as I'd like on here.

Ash - DO NOT WORRY ABOUT HOUSEWORK. If your DH has a problem with it, he can do it (that's what I say LOL). You have enough on your plate with sick bubs, and adjusting to the AD's which make you feel yuk for a bit. The ADs take around 6 weeks till you feel the full affects of them too, so dont' feel disheartened if you aren't feeling better yet. It will get better, I can promise you hun and then you'll feel more capable of getting housework done and other things. You should see my house, because I have two other kids, it looks terrible some days, my whole bed is covered in washing that needs to be folded, but if ou can't do it, you can't. My kids actually help out a lot and without them, I"m sure the dishwasher would never get stacked in the day or my floor would never get swept. I just can't put Leo down and I cant get anything done. Hang in there hun.

Dan - Your DH sounds like a gem, and he's very right. HOw lovely! HOw's your day shaping up today? It's very frustrating when they are good for daddy, I know. I am hoping I won't need a D&C but if I do, I am not express milk before anethetic and then express out afterward and then the next feed should be fine. They use a special one for BFing mums (well this is the way it was when I had one after DD over 6 years ago)

I"ve put Leo down so I can finish this and hes screaming at me. We bought a rocking chair which is a life saver, means I don't have to pace with him. I"m frustrated at not getting thigns done. ILs are coming tomorrow and I am stressed as I don't have the best relationship with MIL, they are staying a week. I am very worried about others touching my baby, so I don't know if I can handle it all without having a panic attack. ILs are older and unsteady and I"m scared theyu'll drop him.

I've got to go because he is screaming and I cANT type one handed anymore, too hard.
