Danni, I hope Monster Mason went to sleep for you after you posted;) And yeah Wed the 11th is fine for me..
I'm a bit buggered too today cause Toby seems to be having a growth spurt and is back to 4 hourly feeds;) And he doesn't fit into his 000 wondersuits anymore!! No wonder!! He is such a guts atm..hehehe
Uh Oh I can hear the doggy door going again...BBL..
-
Wow Rae with little Tia sleeping 7hrs straight! What a champ! The most I can get out of Elena is 5 hours, better that it has been so I'm not complaining. Yay on her weight gain too! Do you still have to take her to see the doctor regularly?
Danni I hope Mason slept for you, cheeky man. I hate it when they play up the night before you have to go out, Elena has a talent for doing that too.
Alex sounds like Toby is having a growth spurt, gosh is he in 00 already? We are still using 0000 suits but they are getting a little short in the arms. I reckon we'll be in 000 in the next couple of weeks.
Aarrghh she's awake again after only being down for about 10mins! She's been really hard to settle the last couple of days and when she finally nods off she wakes up again after only 10-15mins so we have to start all over again. BBL I hope!
-
Wednesday is good for me ladies!!! Great to see Sarah and Danni today and of course Noah and Mason!!!
Does anyone elses angel not sleep during the day because they have to poo!! I swear she wont settle because of that - wakes up - poos then cries because she is tired !!
Gotta fly bbl....
-
hello everyone!
sorry i havent been around as much recently. Shayne was off with us for 4 weeks so we spend all our time together and I haven't really been on the computer much, any spare time we had we just spoke about the birth and our new roles!.
He went back to work on Monday and I had the worst day with Alexis since her birth it was awful.... I just couldn't settle her, she screamed so much that she was red and choking - plus she has a cold too poor little angel, thank god Monday is over. I still feel a little guilty as i actually swore at her :( I really can't complain tho as she sleeps from about midnight to 5am/6am each night, but it was just an extremely trying day.
Im glad to see that everyone is going along well and that our bubs are doing normal things that other bubs do! Its so nice to read your posts and sit here and nod my head and think *yep* I can relate... I would go nuts without you guys ;).
Its pouring here today and I am trying to get some towels done, so best be off.
I will be around a little more now, so will have time for personals and more chit chat in the coming weeks when we get used to being on our own!
Rae - We still have our preggy bellies on our Avators heheh Do you know how to change them? I forgot ....

What a day!!!!!! Dave is sick (and we all know how males get when they sick!) and Olivia is out of sorts after her needles this morning and a house full of visitors so I'm run off my feet and completely exhausted.
Rae - Thank you for the reassurance about Olivia. Fantastic routine your little girl is in.
Lulu - I hear you loud and clear. Feel free to vent away here. That's what we are here for.
Danni - Hope Mason has settled for you and slept soundly.
Tan - Olivia is copying Izzy. I swear she poos deliberately just so she can get up. She will not settle or have a dirty/wet nappy.
Beck - It is really hard when they have unsettled days when you're by yourself even with heaps of sleep. I've lost count of the amount of days I've watched the clock and counted the minutes until Dave is due home. To get a new avatar you need to email Kathryn and give her your details that you want included.
Lis - Did you manage to get bubby to sleep for you for longer than 10 mins.
Alex - I have to laugh at the thought and image of Jack climbing out the doggy door. It would be so cute looking out the window seeing him run around the backyard.
Mel - Isobelle is growing beautifully. Bugger about the sleeping though. Goodluck at the Osteopath I hope it helps sort out your back.
Sarah - Hope little mans cast and appt went well today.
Wednesday 11th is fantastic for me. I can't wait to meet everyone.
Gotta dash and sort out dinner for everyone. AARRGGHH!!!!!!
Luv Dan
(Sorry about the crappy personals. I'll do better next time)
-
Mel - so sorry about your back hun. How annoying. Hope the osteopath helps sort it out. Go Isobella on her growth!!!
Alex- I wouldn't be surprised if Tia was about to have a growth spurt too cause she's been wanting to feed heaps more over the last day or so. Toby sounds like he's going great guns too!
Beck - Yay to have you back!!! DOn't worry we all have those 'hell days' - actually i had about 4 hrs of it last night from about 8-12...Tia just wanted to cry, cry, cry and feed heaps too. I drank heaps of coffee during the day (which i don't normally do) and i'm pretty sure she got bad wind from it and was in a bit of pain. And of course Paul was out...i swear these twins of ours love to leave the 'joyous' moments for us alone. OH and as for the preg belly avatars we have to email Kathryn and let her know we want a change. I prob won't bother cause my platinum membership runs out next month anyway.
Lis - i haven't forgotten you and will email you through those sling details asap :)
Hi to everyone!!!
-
Hey girls,
Just on my way to bed...
Hope everyone had a good day and these bubbas let us have a good night too;)
Nick is taking Jack to The Wiggles tommorow!! I think he is more excited than Jack!!
Dan, yeah it is funny (not the extra washing though!!).. He goes to our sliding door first and says " ow side??" and I tell him "No, it's too cold and wet", but give him about 15 mins when I'm busy with Toby and he's out there!! Doesn't help that him and our dog are attatched at the hip!! They just adore each other!!hehehehe
Rae, Yeah, I can't wait till Toby's 8 week checkup to see what he weighs now!!
Ok gotta go...Talk 2moro ladies..:asleep::asleep:

Hi guys, hope everyone is well.
Just a quick one for me again before I go to bed; finally got Isobella to sleep. Had my appt today and the osteopath has told me that the reason my back keeps going is because my pelvis has rotated and we weren't able to fix it today as it is still to tender so I have another appt next thursday to try again and in the meantime I have some stretches to do to try and help it plus I have to work on my stomach muscles so that they can regain their strength to help take the pressure off my back.
Isobella has here immunisation tomorrow not looking forward to seeing her get a needle! :( plus (sorry if TMI) I was supposed to have a papsmear but AF has come to visit today even though I am fully bfeeding so I don't know if the doc will be able to do it after all.
Lee so glad to hear from you and to hear that baden is well - how did the needles go?
Sez how is Nicky going?? and you?? it must have been scary!
Dan sorry to hear that Olivia has a heart murmur - how are things going besides that?
Hope everyone else is well and that your bubbas aren't giving you too much grief (and that you aren't up atm and getting plenty of rest.
Sleep tight xx
-
Mel - I think I got AF yesterday.. How strange isn't it? I thought it didn't happen while bfing.
Not this soon anyway.. Good luck with Isobella's injections today!!
Alex - Sounds like you get a mini break today! Hopefully Toby lets you get ample rest!
Dan - Sorry to hear about Olivias heart murmur, I hope everything turns out alright. Noah's appt went well thank you!
Ugh Noah is screaming again, I don't know whats going on anymore, I will try to be back later!!!
-
Hi Everyone!
Wow you busy Mum's like to post a lot!! I thought I would read through and try and get grasps on everyone before I introduced myself, and everytime I log on there is another page of posts!!!
Anyway, my name is Michelle, I am 27 and have just had bub number 3 on the 25th May! My eldest DD is 8, next DD is 3 and then we have our little man who is 5 weeks! Little Angus was born at 38wks, but was a big boy at 4110gms or 9lb 1oz after an induced labour of 3 hours. It sounds like my boy has the same lack of wanting to sleep as all the other bubs at the moment. He won't go any longer than 3 hours between feeds even at night, hates his cot and will only settle in bed with DH and I, and during the day will only sleep when he is being carried or in his swing. But on the whole is a good baby, and when he smiles all is forgiven!! His sisters love him heaps, but have kindly shared a snotty nose with him at the moment, so he is a bit miserable, but only when he is trying to feed cause he can't breathe properly at the same time!!
Anyway, can't wait to get to know you all a bit better, wish I was in Melb, by the sounds of it you have a Mothers group happening down there!! Have to say the weather up here in Nth QLD is resembling Melb at the moment, is sooo cold and the sun has only just come out after 2 weeeks of rain!! Prob why Angus likes to snuggle in bed to try and stay warm!!
Anyway, take care!!
Michelle :D

Sarah- hope Noah is ok!? Is the plaster bothering him? So good to see you and Danni yesterday - cant wait til our next meeting!! With AF - I guess everyones different and thats why they say that using breastfeeding isnt really great contraception- hence why im going on the mini pill asap!!!
Mel - you poor thing with your back thats awful. Must be so hard for you hun - hope you have been getting some help and Isobella is helping out oo by letting you get some rest! Sounds like she is going great guns! I though Izzy was huge at nearly 5kgs! She has the cutest rolls of fat around her thighs and wrists - i cant stop kissing her!
Dan- yay for the 11th! I cant wait!!! Now we just need to decide where!! Arent men the worst when sick/hurt!? Al has been complaining of rib pain for nearly 2 weeks now - he got kicked in the side at soccer (someone asked ages ago - he plays for Glen Waverley - a new club and he is new at it too!!) and he wont go to the doctor -he cant cough or sneeze without grabbing his side. I told him its his own fault if he has a cracked rib poking into his kidney because he refuses to go the the Dr (B*** i am!!) Men ...pffft:rolleyes: Hope Olivia is going well too hun!
Beck - 4 weeks - lucky you - that would have been great! I was glad to have 2 with Al!
Poor Lexi with her cold - hope she is better now, dont worry about swearing/getting frustrated, we are only human hun and get annoyed/short tempered at times. You should hear my groans when I have to get up for feeds - terrible...
Lis - Hope Elena is settling a bit better for you- so time consuming just getting them to sleep isnt it!
Rae- sounds like you are going really well with your gorgeous girls!! Luckily these cherubs are so cute hey especially when they are up all night crying and exhausting their mummies! How are you recovering from your c/s - hope you arent in too much pain.
Danni - hope you are going ok - hows Mason today?? Hope you are going to rest up after your mission yesterday!
Hi to all the other yummy mummys Ive missed!
We are going really well - no major issues really, but now that Im getting this day routine in place - (kind of a routine!) she is feeding earlier in the evening, and she wont nap in the late afternoon so is exhausted and eats and sleeps from between 5pm -630.When she has woken at 1030 for an extra feed (been thinking about giving her a dreamfeed anyway) she still wakes 4 hours later - how does she do that ? I swear it is EXACTLY 4 hours later to the minute. So although we have a 6-8 hour sleep - it starts at around 5-6pm- hopefully I will come up with some bright idea to get it to start at midnight til 6!!!
Well Im about to have a nap while miss Isabelle is down - (second nap this morning - whoo hoo) - we are going to school today to visit the kids and teachers!! Im a bit excited about two days in a row with adult interaction!!!
Quick question- anyone using grobags?? I want to start using ours but she sleeps so much better if her arms are swaddled down - any ideas?? Can i use a sheet or wrap for her arms and torso??? also - its sooo long- and according to sids they are down the end of the bed right - so what do you do with the excess bag near her feet??
Well better get this nap in ladies - hope you all had a restful night and peaceful day with your cherubs!:D
-
Hey Michelle- my post obviously took too long for me to write!!! Welcome and we are a bit chatty in here so dont stress if you cant keep up!! Sounds like you have your hands full and congrats on the birth of little Angus!
-
Hello!!
Sorry I haven't posted for a few days - once again, I've just been far too busy!! Now that I'm driving again, I've been out and about most days - it's crazy!! I'm getting a bit tired from it all so I really must slow down a little - it's just great to have a little bit of independence back again!!
Well, the feeding is still going really well, although my nipples are a little sensitive still but sooo much better than before!!! I'm just praying the mastitis stays away, it's freaking me out!!! I can't handle getting it again!!
Yesterday, I went and visited a family friend who has a one week old bub and my god, he was soooo tiny!! It made me realise just how big Luke is and there's only 5 weeks difference between them!! Luke is a big boofer though, he now weights 5.1kg!! No wonder my back hurts so much!! I'm having trouble holding him!!
Everything else is good - Luke is sleeping really well still at night - between 5 and 7 hours at a time, then he usually settles really well and goes back down for another 2 to 3 hours BUT during the day, it's really hard. Doesn't help that I'm out and about so much and we have absolutely no routine but we'll get there. I've got lunch to go to today as its my stepdads birthday, so that should be nice.
Will try and pop back in later for some personals.
Kelly xxx

Welcome Michelle!!
Kelly, YAY for driving again!! Makes you feel human again doesn't it...Hope Luke's day sleeps get better too..
Tan, I have just started using a grobag for Toby and I am yet to figure out if he likes his arms wrapped or not;) What size do you have?? I have the 0-6 months one and there is not too much at the bottom... Maybe you could tuck it back under?? And I think when SIDS say about putting them right down the bottom, I'm sure they mean when they are covered in blankets and sheets etc, cause with a grobag on, they can't slip down into it and be smothered..IYKWIM?? That's why they are so good!! And for when they get bigger and decide to roll and move about and kick their blankies off!!
Well Nick just called and said the Wiggles were excellent!! Jack was just so amazed and sat on his lap the whole time!! He never does that!! Now he's zonked in the car!!
-
Good afternoon ladies,
Welcome to our little group Michelle and congratulations on the birth of Angus. Can't wait to hear all about your little man and your girls.
Tan - I bought three grobags for Olivia and she absolutely hates them because I can't wrap her in them and she loves to be wrapt and tightly too. She bellows until I take it off and wrap her. Hopefully when she gets a bit bigger she will sleep in them. But I agree with Alex about not worrying about the space at the bottom. I hope you enjoyed visiting your kids and the teachers today. Isn't it the proudest moment showing off your little princess.
Sarah - Hope Noah has settled a bit for you and that his cast isn't annoying the brave little man. How is his sleep going? Do you co-sleep all the time or just overnight. I would love Olivia to cuddle in with me in the morning but she won't have a bar of it. Has Noah been co-sleeping since birth? I can't remember for the life of me.
Sez - Hope that little Nicky is recovering quickly from his little operation. How have you gone with increasing your supply?
Kelly - YAY on being able to drive again and that your feeding is finally going well for you. You have done so much better than I would have. I would have thrown in the towel after getting mastitis. You are doing so well and it's showing with Luke's awesome weight gain.
Mel - How did the immunisations go today? Fingers crossed that little Isobella isn't too upset today for you. That's good news that the osteopath knows how to fix your back for you and now it's only a couple of days until some relief. Look after yourself though.
Has anyone else started on the mini-pill? I have got it here but don't know if I want to take it. I by no means want another baby but don't know about the pill again and especially how strict you have to be with the timing. Guess apart from the pill condoms are our only options. I also thought that we wouldn't get AF when we were exclusively b/f. I guess we are back to not understanding our bodies again.
Well I have been incredibly spoilt the last two nights. Olivia has had her 8pm feed and bath, settled about 10 - 10.30 and has slept until 4am, back in bed asleep by 5am and then slept until 8.30 - 9am. I know it is too early to get excited but the sheer thought of her beginning to get into a routine herself is just too exciting. At 4am my boobs are so rock hard and throbbing they take the next two feeds to settle down. I don't care if she doesn't do it again tonight because I feel spoilt with these two nights. I actually have woken up feeling slightly human and normal again. I forgot how good a few hours of sleep feels and I'm even happy to have the rock hard boobies cause it's totally worth it :D.
Olivia had her injections yesterday. She was so brave and only cried for a few minutes. Mum on the other hand had to suck it up so I didn't cry infront of the other mums. She was in such a great mood and then started bellowing instantly. The poor little girl. I felt so bad but it had to be done.
With our get together I'm pretty easy pleased but it is going to have to be somewhere where this little country bumpkin can find. I do not know Melbourne at all. I'm hopeless . I'm a little bit nervous about being away with Olivia for a week and how she is going to go not being at home where she is used too. Only one way to find out I guess.
Have a great arvo and catch up later.
Luv Dan & Olivia

Hi everyone and welcome Michelle. Glad to read that everyone's bubbies seem to be sleeping and feeding pretty well on the whole.
Izzy is still not great but does seem a little better, although isn't sleeping longer than 2 hours in one go. I got the famous colic remedy that Caro has been going on about and it really is brilliant. Lis - if you want some for Elena let me know - I'm sure I can post it to you. It really does seem to help, and its almost immediate.
Well, Izzy had her 8 week community nurse check yesterday. She is putting on weight as she should be but seems light compared to a lot of your bubbies (especially Luke!) - she's 4.4kgs and is now 57.5cm long. Otherwise she's doing well with development and not concerns except the reflux. Her mummy on the other hand scored off the charts with the "how are you feeling/coping" multi choice thing they give you. Not surprising given how its been over the last couple of weeks but hopefully things will improve.
Hope to catch up with personals soon - sorry for being slack.

Hey there,
We are still here but have had the worse week.
Last Friday, my older son got sick with the flu, as in influenza not just a cold and poor kid was up alot at night unable to breathe very well. Then on Sunday, I got the flu and it hit me hard, I remember little of Sunday or Monday, I was in bed with Leo running high temps and was delerious.
Then on Tuesday, Leo got very sick very fast :( He caught the flu but went from fine in the morning to lethargic and running high temp at lunchtime and not feeding at all. I rushed him to the GP who sent us straight to the hospital which is an hour and a half away. I had to leave my other sick son and my daughter with someone.
The got him straight in and put a drip in his hand. It was the most awful thing I have seen happen to one of my children, they got one in his tiny hand after ages, and then the vein blew so they had to try again on the other hand. It took ages and he screamed so much and we had to hold him down and he looked at us like it was us putting him through that pain. I have had canuals and I know how much they hurt, so to see my tiny baby going through that was horrible.
They took blood and his temp was soaring, so they started pumping him full of antibiotics through the IV as well as fluids. Then they said they were worried that the fever was masking meningitis and talked about doing a lumbar puncture :( Thank God it didn't come to that.
He was admitted for two nights and we got home late yesterday. He is much better but still pretty sick. he's got to stay on AB's for another 2 weeks.
He stopped feeding though and my milk almost went away. During the hospital stay, I stayed in with him the whole time, it was hard because of my sick son at home and I was terribly torn. My kids were too far away to visit.
Now I have mastitis really bad because I am very run down from the flu which I still have, no sleep and the stress and then LEo not feeding. One quarter of my breast is bright red and the only way I can get out of bed is doping up on panadeine forte. I'm running a temp of over 39 constantly and I'm going to have to find a way to get to a doctor tomorrow.
I don't want to take Leo out, I'm too scared so it's really hard.
Been feeling cursed or something this week.
Take care of your little ones with all those bugs out there, the flu thing is going around Sydney pretty bad and lots of babies were sick in the JHH.
GTG, he crying now.
