I just wanted to say Blake had his first suckle today! He latched like a pro (thanks to the Tomee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles), there is obviously nothing there yet, but I had a pressure feeling in the back of my boobs where I guess my ducts are, so maybe something is brewing. Just wanted to share, I was really excited!!!
-
WHooooooooo hoooooooo Ash - so happy for you hun! Keep up the great work!
-
yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how exciting Ash! I cant wait to see you guys next week. Hopefully by then you will be back to feeding!
Seriously start pumping as often as you get a minute spare. :D
-
hi all,
im new to this site but used to frequent essential baby.is it ok 2 join forum with u guys? My DS was born 28th April this year.

Hi All!
Just a quickie! Sarah, I know how you feel! Angus's was quite swollen and the end was obviously bigger from the plastibell, it was also red and I was worried because there wasn't much of his doodie hanging out the end to wee out of iykwim!!!! I have to say his didn't bleed at all so I would keep an eye on it. My only advice is use heaps of vaseline with every nappy change. I used almost 2 large bottles over the course of 2 months, it also helps when the ring falls off. The only thing the paed surgeon said to me was watch that it didn't slip down the shaft at all and for excessive swelling. Although it does get really red when the ring is about to fall off! I was paranoid like you and kept getting my sister to check it cause she had 2 boys who were done also. Was totally new to me with only having had girls!!! Anyway, good luck!
Yay Ash!!! Congrats, hope it all continues to go well!!
I have to say I am very excited because after 2 weeks of Angus waking 3 hourly during the night, he is still in bed now, asleep!! I fed him about 9.30 and put him to bed at about 10pm so I think that made the difference. Normally he is in bed at 7pm and when he stirs I just give him the dummy. So last night I got him up when he woke at 8pm and played and fed him and he has slept all night wooo hooo!! I just hope it continues. Although I now have two very huge full BB's!!
Take Care everyone!!

Thanks Michelle, the Doc didn't say anything about the Vaseline, do you just put it on the end? I am so frustrated because Noah has already had his 4 doses of Panadol in 24hrs he isn't in as much pain but if I pick him up or move him he is, I guess I just want to give it to him so he can get some more sleep. Congrats on the more sleep with Angus, playing is a good idea to tucker them out isn't it
Welcome HubbaBubba!
Way to go Ashlee!!! You will be lactating in no time by the sounds of it!
I am going to try to go back to sleep, I am stuffed, I was up every hour last night and got about 3 hours sleep in total I was so worried for my little man. Will try to catch up later!
-
Welcome hubba_bubba of course you can join us!! The more the merrier!
Quick one again here!! Sarah - :hugs: to both you and Noah - heres hoping he recovers really quickly hun and isnt in too much pain.
Michelle - Yay for ANgus - fingers crossed that he stays in a bit of a routine for you hun!!
Hi everyone else!!!
Well since being sick Izzys sleep pattern at night is all over the place :( I know Im lucky to have had it as good as Ive had though. Last night she went to bed at 730, woke at 1230, and 6 and is sill asleep now. Im hoping once she gets better she will go back to dropping the middle of the night feed, poor thing.
Gotta go get Fathers Day pressies for my dad, FIL, Al and BIL birthday today and its soo windy in Melbourne. Will have to rug Iz up and have the wind cover on her pram for sure.
Better fly - catch you all soon - have a super day!

HELLO EVERYONE!!!
Firstly, sincere apologies for being out of action for such a long time. I won't make excuses for myself other than to say I hope everyone is doing famously, and I will try my very best to do personals after I've spent a little bit of time reading up and seeing how everyone is doing!
I must say first off the bat though... CONGRATULATIONS LULU!! What amazing news and I am so pleased that a new miracle has decided to bless your lives so quickly!! I am so happy for you sweetheart and I think it's wonderful wonderful news!! I can't even bring myself to DTD since have Mia let alone fall pregnant, so you're way ahead of me!!! DTD is the last thing from my mind... I'm so exhausted each and every day that even thinking about s*x tires me out! LOL
Steph and Hubba Bubba - welcome to BB!! Lovely to have you in our group.
Sarah - how are things going with your invites hon?? Is everything coming along well? Sorry to hear you had such a bad day with getting Noah cir'd but I'm sure you've made the right decision for him - huge cuddles to the both of you.
Dan - how are you chicken?? I miss your smiling face - you're not planning on another Melbourne trip anytime soon are you?! Tan and I were saying the other day how we should organise another Melb May meetup! Olivia is such a clever girl, I'm so proud of her!
Tan - sweet, so glad to see you on Facebook too! I spread myself far too thin these days to keep up with everyone! Izzy is looking more adorable every day, cute litte thing! If you have MCN questions, ask away! They are all I use! As for sickies, I know how you feel! Mia has been so sick with a cold this last week/10 days and has been so miserable. Her whole feeding/sleeping routines are out of whack and she's just generally feeling sorry for herself. The only thing that's helped is Fess and some Vicks Baby balsam.
Michelle - as I mentioned to Tan, if you have any MCN questions - ask away!! And what FANTASTIC news about Angus sleeping! That's so wonderful!!
Ash - wowie!! Blakes a biggun' but I'm sure it's all love in there!! You're doing such a great job with him! Have fun with the meetup with Danni and Mason! And congrats on Blake starting to suckle - you'll be BFing in no time!!
Danni - how are you sweet?? How is Mason going since the plane trip and his illness? Are things settling down for you a bit now?
As for our update.... we're going well! I am absolutely so in love with my little girl and she makes me smile more and more every day.
She's been a bit sick lately, and has bad reflux which we're still trying to battle through. She's on Zantec 3 times a day and she's still crying during her feeds, which makes me upset. She's now refusing the bottle as well so even if I wanted to top her up with EBM, she refuses to take it so I'm getting a bit worried (especially if we ever want to go out again etc, and I can't BF - I'm petrified in fact!)
For the girls that are asking about MCNs, I'm a full time clothie mum and will be happy to help out if you have any questions.
Have been dabbling with a bit of photography at home too with some new photos of Mia - trying to decide if I should start to get a bit more experience under my belt and do something as a hobby/part time for little kiddies. It's so much fun!! Some new pics are on her homepage too.
As for me personally, I'm generally well! Had a couple of heart scares so I'm now hooked up to a heart monitor and have wires going EVERYWHERE (makes BFing all the more interesting!) so they can try and see what's going on... damn ticker!!
Hope everyone is wonderful and hi to anyone I've missed!!
xxx
-
Kristen - so great to hear from you. I hope your heart scares are nothing serious and the Drs can get to the bottom of it very quickly. Poor Mia with reflux. Its heartbreaking seeing them so unhappy isn't it. I hope things improve sooner rather than later. As for DTD, I'm blaming this baby on DH's birthday - after making the poor guy wait throughout my entire pregnancy with Izzy, I thought he deserved a quickie on his bday!!!!! I'm with you though on being too tired to even think about it. I've got the perfect excuse again now :p
Ash - that is fabulous news. I'm so happy for you that your first try at BFing again has gone so well. Crossing my fingers it continues to go well and in no time at all Blake is a booby baby again.
Sarah - you poor love. Its never nice to see our little ones in pain. I hope Noah's little boy bits heal quickly.
HubbaBubba - welcome to our little group.
Tan - sorry to hear Izzy's sleep pattern has been thrown. Its hard to readjust when you're used to sleeping right through the night isn't it? My Izzy woke at 3am this morning. She never does that anymore - goes down about 7pm and never wakes before 6am so it was a real shock to the system. Good luck with all your pressie hunting.
Michelle - I hope Angus' increased night sleeps only get better for you. Amazing how you can feel like a new woman with that bit more sleep.
Hi to Dan, Danni and anyone else I've missed (sorry!!).
I'm starting to feel pretty awful now - back to 24 hour "morning" sickness!! To top it off, I've got a constant headache which is occasionally becoming a migraine. I didn't get headaches at all and only migraines for a few weeks in my 2nd trimester with Izzy so I hope its not a sign that they're here to stay this time. Oh well. Such is life. Oh, and I already have a belly!!! How did that happen?? After being a size smaller than I was when I fell pregnant with Izzy only a couple of weeks ago I'm now looking at my maternity clothes again.
-
Hi!
Sorry will be back later for personals! Just wanted to quickly tell you Sarah that the vaseline is very important, the paed surgeon that I went to said that after every nappy change put heaps of vaseline all over the end of the doodie and around the ring because it can adhere. Also helps them not hurt when they wee cause it is kinda raw skin where they have pulled the foreskin back (iykwim). He said that the vaseline should be used for 2 weeks even after ring falls off so that it doesn't adhere back down.
Anyway, be back later, have a BBQ to get to! See ya all!
*Michelle*

Hello!!
Sorry but its just a quick one from me once again - sorry!!! Just wanted to let you all know that we're still here, I just haven't had time to post, but I am keeping up with everything (as much as I can anyway, my brain just isn't functioning all that well right now).
Kristen - So great to hear from you, Luke's having trouble with reflux too and is also on Zantac, its just terrible. He's so up and down though, so I'm really quite confused about the whole thing.
Sarah - Big hugs to you - I hope Noah is doing ok!! We've been debating getting Luke circ'd aswell and still can't make up our minds. Looks like if we do decide to get it done, we'll wait until he can be put under!! Its such a tough decision.
Lulu - Sorry to hear the morning sickness is back for you - not nice!! I hope it doesn't hang around. When is your scan, can't wait to hear your due date??
Michelle - Hope you enjoyed the BBQ!
Tan - I hope Izzy is feeling better and returns to her great sleeping routine soon!! Luke is still waking twice during the night and I'm getting sooo sick of it!!! Can't complain though, he's been pretty good some nights.
Well I'm not having the best day today, so sorry, that's all the personals I can handle. Wow, this post has turned out to be a lot longer than I expected. I really should be in the shower while Luke is asleep - yep, haven't managed to get in there yet today. Might wait until DH is home though as I really want a nice long shower and I just know Luke will wake up as soon as I get in.
So Luke is still really up and down right now - he's been quite clingy and grumpy today so I hope he's not getting sick. He's hardly slept again though, so I haven't managed to get much done. Last night was a shocker too - not happy!! I think I'm VERY close to putting Luke on formula now, its just getting too much for me. He's really started screaming during feeds again and it really takes its toll on me. I'm also worried about stopping the bding though as I still have heaps of milk and am worried about mastitis again. I also don't want to my great boobs to disappear again - I've really loved having boobs for once - they're hot!!! LOL. So vein!!
Anyway better go, have HEAPS to do!
Kelly xxx
-
hey kelly, have you tried andything for colic? thats prob what it is if he is screaming during feeds. Have you heard of the miracle mixture from padbury pharmacy? that stuff realllllllllllllllllllllllllllly works!!
-
Danni - Mia screams during her feeds from reflux because she's bringing her food back up again as she feeds, so I suspect it's the same for Luke :(
-
A quick one for me tonight...
Kelly - I know how you feel about waiting until 6 months for the general, I would have rather that or have done it shortly after birth, it is such a hard thing to do but something I feel is important. I hope you have a better day tomorrow with lots of sleep tonight! Have you had Luke looked at for an ear infection? One of the girls in MG had the same problem and then found out it was an ear infection, worth a shot anyway.
Michelle - Thanks for the Vaseline tip, we are slathering it on now. I can't believe his little willy is so swollen :( The nurse said it would be gone in the AM and I called today and they said it is normal. It doesn't seem to be bothering him anyway.
Lulu - How terrible you are feeling so sick! I hope the morning sickness at least starts to ease off for you soon.
Kristen - The invites are going well, I made a few more tonight, the link can be found in my profile for my site. Hopefully next week I can pay for Market Place Membership so I can advertise in my signature. There are more things to come and I need to do some tidying up around the site but it is well on its way. I love the new pics, Mia is gorgeous! Photography is a fantastic idea! I hope everything turns out alright with your heart
Tan - How did you go with your shopping? I got Juz 3 pairs of socks and a chocolate bar  I did make him a bookmark with photos of him and Noah on it as well so I don't feel so bad. I hope Izzy sleeps good for you tonight!
So much for a short one  Not a lot from me, just busy making designs for my website, starting to get a head cold but pumping the Vit C. Noah is doing a bit better, can't wait for the ring to fall off and the swelling to be gone. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!!
-
Kristen and Kelly, you might want to have a read of THIS THREAD
-
This is gonna be a long one - I started writing this at 745am!!
Sarah - Hope Noah is feeling better hun.. has his plastic thingy fallen off? Will it be better once its off? Love your designs you clever girl - the birthday bubbles one is adorable!! Where are you gtting photos from to use for them- they are so cute! Yay for Marketplace Membership too - gottta love Belly Belly!!
Kelly - :lol:at your boobs!! you can have some of mine - I want to lose just one cup size thanks very much but now that they have pretty much settled down I cant see that happening  Poor Luke andthe reflux, I cant imagine how hard that must be for you hun, and I understand you feeling like you might start with formula. Could you do both for a bit and see how you go? Might give you a break from bfing without giving up completely? Have you called the ABA to get some advice babe?? They have some guidlelines for weaning and so do a few of the books that Ive got here- if you want any info just pm me and I can email you although im sure you probably have the same stuff I do! Good luck - its the hardest job isnt it - just when you think things are settling down - something disrupts the pattern :(
Michelle - How has Angus been sleeping for you the last few nights?? and how are your gorgeous girls going??! Hope the bbq was fun that you went to!
Lulu - Hope the ms hasnt been too bad over the weekend and you got to enjoy your first fathers day together. Hopefully the migranes are not here to stay. Ive heard subsequent bubs pop out quicker because your body has been there before iykwim!
Kristen - Great to hear from you!!!! Not so great to hear about your heart problems hun, hope everything is ok, and I hoe Mia's reflux and feeding hasnt been too bad- poor thing. Your photos look great too - I looked into photographers jsut recently and some charge a fortune - so Id say it would be a lucrative part time business and you obvioulsy have a good eye for it! Go for it!! Yes yes yes to Melbourne May meet up!! As for MCN - I jsut cannot get my head around the amount of washing - as it is I do lots during the week but I feel like thats all i would be doing. Having said that Im having serious issues with sposies so I should try them i guess. What do you use? I recently bought BBHs covers for going out to stop the *up the back* poo leak in the car - seems to work!
Dan - how is the gorgeous Livvy going?? How is the dreamfeed working out - Im going to start too seeing as the days of our 11 hour sleep seem a distance dream in the past :cryinglaugh: !!
Danni - girl I know you are around on here - I wanna hear a nice juicy update about your beautiful boy and what you have been up to!!
Ash - how is the relactating going?? Hope Blake is doing well and helping his mummy out!
Aniejade and hubbabubba - hope you are keeping up with all our chatter - hope to hear from you soon!
To all Ive missed - hello!!
Well we had a busy but great weekend - lots of *us* time which was nice - we often plan things for the 2 of us and end up with other friends! We went to a hippy market up in St Andrews on Saturday - beautiful drive! and cam home via the wineries! We cant resist! Then a bit of shopping for Fathers day!
Sunday we went to my sisters cafe church for a Fathers Day brunch which was lovely and then to mum and dads in the arvo. Izzy got worse as the day went on and then I feel like a bad mum for taking her out for 2 days running - she seemed so fine on Saturday and by Sunday morning I thought - whoo ho the runny nose is pretty much gone. No such luck. Shes still snotty today - but happy as Larry again - go figure. No temp or any other symptoms just a mucousy nose (sorry) that isnt blocked but isnt clear either. Heres hoping it too will pass so we can go to MG this week:D
Onto nappies. Im so sick to death of leaking poo. OMG - I dont know if its her legs, the way Im putting them on or what but lately Ive had poo leaks at least once aday - through ALL clothes so hence the crazy amounts of washing. Teh BBH covers seem to help a bit in the car - but even if she is just playing on her back - there it goes. We use Huggies - I tried Baby Love and she got a rash, I use aromababy barrier balm which is amazing - no sign of nappy rash ever and Im scared to try snugglers or any other brand in case she spots up again, but having said that - something isnt right with these either. If I go to the next size up I think they will be too big in the leg - this morning the leak was in the leg.
Anyone have this problem - or have a solution?? Maybe I should go to MCH! Might put up a thread in the nappies area and see if anyone has any ideas there too!
Kristen - how often do you change with MCN?? Is it more frequent that with sposies?? I change Izzy after each nap and also when I can tell shes done something during the day - so thats every 2 1/2 hours I guess.
Right sleeping - Izzy is up once a night again - anywhere from 12-3ish - I think its because of her cold - she must have a sore throat or something. Anyway Im hoping she will go back to her lovely routine again - but I might try dreamfeeding her at 1030ish and see if that works - nothing to lose at this point in time!
RIghteo - we need a May Melbourne Meet up! Out of towners let us know when you can get to town and if we start organising now we could have something planned by November  JK!! So whose up????
Warned it was gonna be a long one - thanks for reading if you got this far and have an awesome day ladies!! Talk soon!
-
Heya Tan, yeah the plastic thingy is making its way off, it doesn't look pretty at all and I think I see a small patch of skin left behind but I have no idea what it is supposed to look like and there are no pics online to guide me, I just have to wait until Thurs when I see the Dr. I am sure all of it is normal but if I have a boy next time I am definitely going to get the traditional snip instead of the plastibell, less stress that way I think.
As for the nappies, stick with the Huggies, anything else just is not worth it. Are you in Infants size? as soon as Noah was 6kg I moved him to the Crawlers although he started fitting them better when he got to 6.5kg, you have to make sure that the elastic at the back is level with the place where you attach the tabs, so perfectly in half otherwise, this will minimize the leaking out of the back unless Izzy is in a seated position, Noah will always leak out the back if he has a big poo while sitting or in his jolly jumper, there is nothing I can do about that. As for the leg leakage, I find I get that if I don't hike the nappy right up and pull the tabs tight that I will have a nice pooling of doo in whatever he is wearing. If you do all those and you still have leakage then I am afraid I have nothing else :S
I am totally up for the Melbourne meet up!! I will try to get there anyway. I really need to get my P's so I can drive. My options to get down there are limited to the bus and train which is a 7am leaving Horsham and 10pm arriving back in Horsham, so a very long day. The only other way is to do a weekend one and I talk to Juz nicely about coming down....
Well Noah is asleep and I might join him so I can knock down this terrible head cold, I feel like cr#p! Besides this dial up speed is a pain too
-
Sarah - The website looks lovely. Let me know if you need a hand with anything as I do a bit of website design myself (hence Mia's page etc). The designs are looking great too!! Hope you get a heap of business from it and get to be a WAHM forever (that's my goal! HA) How is Noah feeling now?
Danni - thanks for the link, I will take a look.
Tan - Yeah, I might give the photography thing a whirl.
Have to build up my portfolio a bit so may be on the hunt for some bubs soon for some free photo shoots so I can get a variety of pics going. It's a lot of fun!
Re: MCNs (sorry, it's long... but you asked!!)
Washing: I only do a load every 2 days and I am full time cloth. If I have room, I will hot wash Mia's normal clothes with them as well after I've done an initial rinse cycle - BF poo is completely water soluable and it's fine! So many people do this, it's fine. I dry pail - which means nappies go straight into my nappy bucket (BF poo and all) which is lined with a mesh liner bag (like a big delicates bag). When the bucket is full, I just pick up the liner bag at the top and pop it straight into the washing machine!
Type: We use mostly pockets as they are SO easy to use, and are quick drying etc. Also, all of my pockets (bar one brand) are one-sized which means Mia will wear them until she's TT'ed. My favourites at the moment are Green Kids and BumGenius! pockets (don't think I can post links, but you can Google them). I also have a couple of Blueberry one-size minky pockets from the US which are SO soft and cuddly.
I have a few BBHs are well - they are good, we used to use them overnight but the two-step system annoyed me (nappy and then cover) as well as the snaps. I am much better with applix/velcro - just like a disposable, and super easy to use.
I also have some AIOs (all-in-ones) that I use as well (Bubblebubs) but they take longer to dry and are sized, which is why I prefer my pockets!
Frequency - Mia's skin is SUPER sensitive (much better with the cloth than disposables though) and she breaks out in rashes all the time. They're only little ones now (when we used disposables when she was newborn, her rashes were HORRIBLE, but much better now). For that reason, I change her when she wakes up and then again before she goes down for a nap. I also change her as soon as she's pooped to minimise nappy rash probs. But, if she's not a heavy wetter, you could get away with changing her only when she wakes up and her skin isn't prone to nappy rash. But I'm changing generally every 2-3 hours or so. Much better for her bot bot!
If Izzy is leaking as much as she is, it could be a size problem (have you tried Aldi nappies?) or that sposies are just not working for her well. I would give something like the BumGenius pocket a go and see what you think - they fit well around the leg etc and she looks like she might suit them. I would buy one or two and have a go! You may be coverted and become a nappy nerd like me!! Muwahahahaaaa!!
Oh, and count me in for another meet up with the May mummies!! :D
-
Tan-I've never had a poo leakage problem (knocking on wood furiously) and I've used huggies, babylove and aldi. I found Aldi not to be as absorbent or as soft as huggies, and babylove were cutting into Blake's legs even at the correct size. Aldi's grip tabs are sensational though, the best grip of any sposie I've used. How much does Izzy weigh? I've had Blake in crawler since I changed to huggies from babylove infant (he was probably 5.5kg or so, but he is long hence them fitting). Maybe trying a small pack of crawlers would be an idea?
Relactating...hmmm not much progress yet but that's due to lack of funds to go out and get all the potions I need such as motilium, blessed thistle, aktavite etc. I'm sure Danni will kick me in the a$$ on Friday, maybe I'll just sleep and she can pump for me LOL I haven't had a go on the pump as I'm in a mad rush tidying for their arrival but I'm thinking I might give it a whirl after bubs is in bed tonight.
Not much to report from me, Blake is so-so as far as being unsettled goes. He is nappy more in the day so I'm finally getting some things done, but he just wants my attention 100% of the time when he's awake or he screams. I hope Mason can teach him to be quiet lol
-
I haven't actually had a problem with leaky poo nappys (yet), but i was getting alot of leaking wet ones. I was having to wash all khai's sheets daily cos it would leak thru all his bedding.
I am so relieved that others are using crawlers already too...cos i've been getting some funny looks when i tell people hes in crawlers. But only of a night time tho, as he sleeps for longer periods of time so i don't change him as often. He's still in infants during the day.
I swear by huggies...i am not even game enough to try other nappies. I have never had an issue with huggies quality.
Ashlee - Good for you for trying to re-lactate. You talking about it has actually made me think seriously about giving it a go also. But im to be honest im too scared...i know how painfull and emotional it was at the start and i don't know if i could mentally go through it again with Khai, especially as he's used to the bottle. I tried the tommy tippee bottles you mentioned and they just didn't work for me at all. The teat was colapsing and he couldn't suck on them properly.
Tan - lol, i've been TRYING to keep up with you all :) It takes me a while to read thru it all, and by the time i do something needs doing and i don't have time to post! Lol.
Oooh, wish i was in melbourne so i could meet up with you all :( Maybe i'll fly down? Lol j/k.
Khai is doing really well. Only sleeping about 2hours in total during the whole day tho :-/ So i try to do most of the housework @ night.
-
Tan: yes im here ;) How did you guess? LOL. Ok my guess is that you have Izzy still in infant size nappies, am I right? You definitely need to be in crawler now. Are you making sure you flick out all the frills around the leg areas?
cant wait to see Ash & family on friday night. You better have pumped by then woman! Dont worry about the blessed thistle or aktavite, just get the mottilium and PUMP PUMP PUMP! Dont make me pump for you woman, im rough! :cryinglaugh:
had a huge day at the shops today. Left at 9am and got home at 6:30pm and so many things didnt get done! Mason played up a fair bit too.
But i got all my hair chopped off! My hair has been falling out so bad that i was so sick of it so now its gone. i love it :D
Ok good night everyone xx
-
Hey everyone, will catch up on personals when I am better but I am around reading! I have myself a fever and I don't know how I am going to manage looking after Noah with it. It all started off with a scratchy throat yesterday and today I got the sore muscles and migranes and tonight the temperature. Oh the joys!!!
I just wanted to pop on to say OMG Danni, send me a pic of the new do!!!!
-
aww sarah hope you feel better soon.
I just slept on it! Ill see what i can do later lol
-
What if I don't recognise you? Hmmm spose I'll see Mason and Dale LOL
-
hahaha you dag! i still look the same though
-
No you don't lol a) you're not pregnant b) you are the skinniest little minny now and c) you have darker shorter hair. It's going to be in the middle of the night remember, I'm not going to see you hahahah
-
hi guys. Just a quick one to Kelly . . .
Like Kristen said, when I was bf'ing Izzy during her really bad reflux time she was screaming and coming off the breast (taking my nipple with her!!!) because she was getting reflux while she was feeding - milk was hitting her tummy and acid was coming straight back up. I tried the Padbury Pharmacy medicine and it didn't work for me. I know the thread goes on about what a miracle it is, but its not for everyone. Having said that, I was happy to try anything and everything when Izzy was at her worst so its worth a shot. The guys there will post it to you if you ask them to given its a fair hike for you to get out there.
Colic is not reflux - they are completely different things (although you probably already know that). Reflux is gut issues with acid coming up. Colic is wind issues that go from the gut down. Some babies suffer from both, but just having one doesn't mean you also have the other.
The only thing I can suggest if you persevre with the bf'ing is that you try and keep Luke a little more upright while you're feeding him - I ended up with Izzy almost dangling between my legs so she was more upright and that seemed to help a little - sometimes!!! Good luck with it. Its so hard to deal with isn't it.
-
Lulu-When is your scan?!?!
-
Friday morning Ash. Can't wait!! I just hope this little guy is due a good 3 weeks before Izzy's birthday. I hate the idea of their birthdays being so close that they don't feel as if they each have their own special day.
-
Woot I'm so excited for you, be sure to pop in when you can to let us know!!!
-
Yay Lulu!!! Little guy??!! Fingers crossed!
Quick one here - shouldnt even be on here ;) Izzy was soooo upset and grizzly from 3-7 last night gave her some more panadol so that seemed to help. Poor thing - but she slept for 11 hours again - woooot! I had her in her polar fleece sleeping bag because her grobags were all in the wash so I wonder if she has been a bit cold the last few nights because shes been sick - I know I like to be rugged up when not well - wish she could talk :)
Back later - Sarah  stay warm and lots of fluids hunny.
-
Hello!! Sorry, have to be quick again, Luke is on my lap and he's getting a little whingy already!!
Lulu - Thanks so much for the advice, its so difficult. I have no idea what I'm doing anymore. I've starting thinking that I'm trying to feed him when he's not quite ready to feed, causing some of the screaming. BUT, now I can't work out when he's hungry or tired. Its so confusing!!! He's been a bit grumpy lately too - I'm wondering if he's got a bit of hayfever - can babies even get hayfever. He's just sneezing a bit more than normal and his eyes water a lot. Both DH and I have had BAD hayfever this week, so who knows!!
Anyway must go! I'm really tired today, DH and I went out last night, it was his birthday and we had tickets to John Buttler Trio - it was GREAT but we were home far too late and I missed my little man like crazy!!!
Hmm, we have crying now, better go...

Hi guys,
Sorry I'm MIA at the moment but we are having a little bit of trouble with our little princess. She is going through her 4 month figety mood where she is testing us and changing her rountine every single day and night. She is still being an angel for us but at the same time giving me troubles. Does that make sense?
Father's day was brilliant and Dave had a great day. He got a spade and a lemon tree. Weird requests but hey he was happy. We then took our two dogs with us down the park for lunch. It was quick an adventure but brilliant at the same time.
Olivia had another check up with the MCHN and she has only put on 140g in two weeks. She is weighing 5379gm and is quite slow putting on the weight. We have one more month doing it our way before we have to try top-ups or start introducing solids. We'll see how we go. Olivia has her next set of needles on Monday. We have a huge weekend coming up. Dinner out Sunday night, Phantom of the Opera on Sunday and then needles on Monday. Olivia is going to one grumpy little girl Monday night. Might have to leave her with daddy while I have a sleep LOL!!
Lulu - Can't wait to hear all about your scan on Friday. How exciting seeing when your next little one is due and how he's growing. I love the scans. Enjoy seeing your little one. How is gorgeous Izzy going?
Kelly – Honey I’m so sorry that Luke is still screaming during his feeds. I couldn’t imagine how hard it is for you dealing with it every day. You are doing an amazing job. I’m so sorry but I have no suggestions for you but know that I’m sending you heaps of hugs and I’ve got everything crossed that you get it sorted out soon.
Sarah – How crappy being sick. I hate being sick and not being able to curl up under a doona and sook for a while. Hope you are feeling better. How is your little man going with his bell? Has it dropped off yet? I’ve been on your website looking for the link to your webpage but I can’t find it. Any tips?
Danni – Hi petal. Has Mason settled down again or is he still being figety? Does he have a bottle every night still with Dale? You’ll have to put a photo of your new haircut on the website so we can all have a sticky nose. I’d love to cut all my hair off but I’m too scared. Enjoy catching up with Ash on Friday and your trip away to Brissy. I’m jealous. I’d love to go away for the weekend but we are so booked up we don’t have a spare weekend for over a month and then of course Dave starts cricket. Oh well!!
Ash – I think it’s fantastic that you are trying to relactate. Have you been expressing? You better before Danni get there or she’ll do it for ya. LOL! Enjoy dinner with Danni, Dale and Mason. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Kirsten – Ok I’ve obviously missed something. What does MCN stand for? I’ve been looking into baby behind nappies but I’m scared that if they don’t work or I don’t like them I’ve wasted the money. Plus I’m really lazy when it comes to washing.
Tan – Hi possum. How is that gorgeous girl of yours sleeping? Is she back to sleeping for 11 hours? Or are you having to do dream feeds? I’m doing dream feeds wih Livvy and one night it works great and then next one it doesn’t. I’m sticking with it not only to try and get her to sleep through but hoping the extra feed will help her to gain some weight. I’m so jealous of Izzy sleeping 11 hours. I would love Olivia to do that. I’m trying snugglers at the moment and they seem to working well and holding quite a lot. Olivia was leaking poo all up her back and anywhere up to her nipples. It was getting quite gross. Snugglers are quite thin but seem to be doing the job.
Aniejade – I hear you about Khai only sleeping for two hours during the day. How is he sleeping overnight? Is he sleeping through? What is your little man weighing at the moment?
I’m just about positive that I’ve missed someone so if I have I’m so sorry. Sending heaps of hugs to everyone. Hope everyone had a fantastic father’s day and all our babies are behaving themselves and sleeping for their gorgeous mummies.
I’m scared to think how long this post has gotten because DH has just looked over my shoulder and ask what on earth I’m typing that is taking so long and is so big. If I wasn’t so lazy and did personals more often I wouldn’t take so long. I’m so lazy.
Have a great night everyone and we’ll catch up soon,
Luv Dan & Olivia.

Lulu - OMG, so soon!!! How exciting!! Best of luck sweet!
Tan - is Izzy feeling any better? Mia was just getting over her cold, and now she's sick again! Her nose started blocking up last night - poor cherub :(
Kelly - I have no suggestions for you hon, because if I did - I'd be trying them out too! Mia still screams sometimes during her feeds (not always though, but I can hear her swallowing etc just after she cries poor cherub so I know it's the heartburn) - I've stopped giving her the Zantac as I'm convinced it's not helping much and she hasn't had it for the last day and is still the same, so I will see how she goes.
Sarah - how are you feeling??
Danni/Ash - have fun! Danni, do we get to see some pics?
aniejade - Glad to hear Khai is doing so well. Does he normally sleep so little during the day?
Mia's getting a bit sick again - I hope it stays away though, as she was only just starting to get better.
I've also started working a couple of hours for 2 days a week at Darlings Downunder (heaven... nappies all day long!! ha!) which I started today, and I'm really loving it. Tania (who runs it) is lovely, and although I miss my Miss while I'm away, I can work when she's napping so hubby can just be there in case she wakes up.
Hope everyone is well!

Dan! (we posted at the same time!) Hi chicken!
MCN stands for Modern Cloth Nappies - for heaps of choices, have a look at Darlings Downunder (shameless plug now!). The BBHs are great nappies, but there are LOADS of choices out there if you aren't sure of what's right for you. Tania has a great starters pack that lets you try one of every kind so you can see what you like - it's a good option too!

Thanks for the website tip petal. I'm going to go net window shopping now. YAY!!

Hi Ladies!!! I am feeling a little better today, I had a fever on Monday night and it hit me again on Tuesday while out with MG which was really embarrassing, I did blog about it though if you really want to know
Dan, How good do the All in Ones look??? I might buy a couple now myself when I get the next FTB payment. I hope Olivia cheers up for you, Noah is going through a similar thing I reckon and it is so frustrating. About my website, I was only initially testing out this shopping cart so I didn't add a link from my main page. The link is in my public profile and soon to be in my sig when I get the green light about my MarketPlace Membership.
Kristen, Thanks for the shameless plug, lucky you to be working there!! I am feeling better thanks!!
Kelly, Lucky girl going to JBT! He seems to be down here a bit, must be something about us Canadians, you can't get us to leave Oz  Babies can indeed get hayfever, I would ask your health nurse for suggestions. Poor boy... Hope he is a bit better today.
Tan, Way to go on the 11hours!!! I am green ;) Fluids are being consumed, beer counts, right? ;) jk
Lulu, Can't wait to hear the results of the scan, how exciting!!!
Ok that is as far back as I can go for now, sorry to anyone I missed.. Good timing anyway, Noah just woke up after being asleep for all of 20mins, that is the total for the day  boys!!! Talk to you all later!!!
-
Dan - Nah, not sleeping through yet :( Lastnight he only woke once for a feed tho, at 12.30! But i don't want to get too excited and jinx it. But he still wakes 3-4times a night for a feed. He's weighing about 6.5kg at the momment, probabley a little bit more since i last weighed him. So Olivia only sleeps for a couple of hours a day?
Kristen - Yeah, he normally only sleeps that long :( his big sleep is around lunchtime and that's only for about 45mins! lol.
Has anyone started their baby on small solids yet? Im not sure when to start Khai...i don't really want to :( Lol, i don't want him to be big enough to have solids.
And teething...anyone getting signs of teething??
-
Steph - I feed Noah the Heinz organic rice cereal on occaision but more often Only Organics aplle custard, he seems to prefer a sweeter taste than the rice cereal gives. I have given him avocado as well and keep on meaning to give him banana but I don't want to see the stringy red poo yet. As for starting solids, the WHO says 6 months. I have read elsewhere that if a baby doubles its weight by 4 or 5 months or demands feeds more often than 2 hourly after 3 months of age you may start solids on a health professionals advice.
As for teething I think that Noah is on that train as well, someone said for me to get Bonjella?sp?
Oh poo I am burning dinner bbl!!!
-
Sarah: Yeah bonjella is a numbing gel that you can put on their gums where it's sore. You can usually feel the spot where the tooth is coming through to make sure it is actually his teeth that's bothering him.
Steph - Mia's not ready for solids yet by a long shot - she's still very much a boobie baby, and with her reflux has trouble even managing that at the moment! Poor cherub!
Dan - haha welcome!! Let me know if you like anything ;)
