Welcome Jane - you are more than welcome to join out group! Sounds like Ella is doing growing beautifully!! Wow at 56cms! She was tall! Izzy was 4kgs but only 50 cms!

Back later everyone - I have Tweddle interview today plus Im going to the expo- hope you are all great!

    ETA:
Turns out Im not desperate enough to even book into Tweddle - well thats not true- she gave me a date at the end of November but basically told me to call either Queen Elizabeth or O'Connell because they are closer. Or call a private place. Maybe I should have bawled in appreciation for her call but honestly - I wasn't going to bung it on just for the call!
Ah well - I think we might get the lady I was talking about to come out - with the new car though we are a bit tight on $$ So will see how we go. ALso she is much more settled at night - still wakes a few times but is going straight back to sleep. Days are mixed she self settled this morning but wont later in the day
Anyway I need to get ready for the expp have a great day ladies- catch you later!

    Hi everyone,

Welcome Jane, it's always great to add to the may mummies group. Your baby sounds like she is growing well.

Happy birthday Kelly!!! Did you get spoilt with pressies? I hope Luke was a good boy for you on your bday.

Danni - sorry to hear about Mason being sick. It all seems to happen together doesn't it. I hope he gets better quickly for you.

Lulu - that's great that the scan went so well. It must have been amazing watching Ned kick around in there. How exciting.

Tan - how are your wisdom teeth going? They are painful buggers aren't they. What does it take to get into one of these places? It's unbelievable!

    Hi to everyone else!

Julian had a few bad days with teething. He was screaming in pain ant it was so horrible to watch. The bonjela seemed to work really well. It is hard to work out when he is crabby if it is teething or if he is tired and as bonjela has alcohol in it I use it sparingly. His night sleeps cross fingers have been great 7:30 to 7:30 with a 10:30 dream feed. But his day sleeps change everyday, though they usually last an hour so it gives me a chance to get something done. Doesn't the day go quickly though?

Mothers group yesterday was great. I hadn't been in awhile and I was amazed at how much Julian enjoyed it. He held hands with the baby girl next to him and they laughed and giggled with eachother. We went out for lunch after and Julian sat in his pram the whole time then fell asleep. I couldn't believe it! Hopefully he'll do that again.

Hope you all have a great evening

Its nice to know that we are all pretty much at the same point right now.
Happy Birthday Kelly!!!! Hope you get spoilt!
Hi Jane, welcome, I too have only just found this bit of the forum!!
Tan, how is the sleep issues going? Hope she is better for you
    Hope everyone else is well!!
We went out shopping today, he was great, grizzled towwards the end, gave him his dummy and he slept til we bumped into a couple of people that I know, he's in bed now, and due for a feed.
I am in the process of trying to find a new nappy bag, the one I have is split where the zipper is, it can't be fixed. What does everyone else use?
Think I may post a new post asking this question!!

Lee - I use a great handbag I found at Strandbags - its an over shoulder black number with leopard print inner and it has 2 compartments and zips - one for Izzys stuff and one for mine. I keep change of clothes and spare nappies in the black Ryco nappy bag I got originally in the car. I find I generally just need one or 2 nappies for her plus wipes and a mat when I go out. I dont need bottles etc though so that works for me!

Quick one here - had a good day at the expo! Was lovely to see Kristen and the gorgeous Mia again! Didnt get as many freebies as I would have liked but I could have spent a fortune on everything there!
Back later - grizzling girl here!

    Hey everyone!!

Just a very quick one from me. I am organising a Melbourne catch up for those who are interested. After being inspired by my gorgeous picnic in Williamstown with my g/f the other weekend, and with this beautiful weather, I want to organise another one!

So, let me know if you're interested and want to come! So far we have Tan and I.... so who else?

    Date: Monday 5 November 2007
    Time: 12 noon
Location: Williamstown - the park near the water in the centre of town. We will meet on the grass near the big rotunda.

If you don't have my email let me know. Once we know who is coming, we'll alocate picnic food between us and have a lovely picnic lunch to share with everyone!

    xx

    Hello!!

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes - we've had a lovely day!!! It started at 6am though, with Luke and I having a lovely cuddle in bed. Then I got my pressie - a gorgeous necklace and pendant that DH picked for me. Its beautiful!! And a lovely card that nearly made me cry!!! I love DH sooo much, it was really special!! Then, DH took Luke and I to breakfast by the river, which was wonderful. After that, I met up with my SIL and MIL for a walk through some gardens in Peppermint Grove (a very prestigious suburb) - it was a fundraising thing and was quite nice - Luke was fantastic and slept in his pram most of the time. Now, I'm just sitting back - I figure I don't have to do any housework today, it can all wait!!!

Megan - So great to hear from you!!! I hope all is wonderfully well. Will try and send you a personal message, then all you have to do is reply to it!!!

Big hello's to everyone else and hope you're all having a lovely day!!

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your welcomes! It is going to be great chatting to you all!

I had a terrible night with Ella last night. She has come down with a cold (i think she caught it off her daddy). She had a temperature and was quite unsettled. She woke at 2am and I couldn't get her back to sleep until 4. Feel very tired today! She seems a lot better today but I can't help worrying. It is awful when babies get sick!

kelly you sound like you had a fantastic birthday! I love being spoiled!!

Lee; I got my nappy bag from a place called Baby to kids. I don't know if you have that shop (i am in Tas). Anyway the bag folds out to be a change map and it has heaps of storage space also. It is really useful if you are out and about a lot!

Have a good weekend girls! It is my sisters birthday today so I am going to visit her now.

Jane - welcome to our little family. Sorry to hear Ella's not well. Its awful isn't it. I hope she gets over her cold quickly and you both get some rest today.

Lee - my nappy bag is a Basque one I got from my Myer. I was actually looking for a nice, big handbag that I could use as a nappy bag. Picked up this bag thinking it was great with all the pockets, and then realised it was actually a proper nappy bag. I love it.

Tan - sorry you didn't get into the sleep school you were after. Hopefully Izzy will turn a corner soon and you won't need any help. Otherwise, can this woman come to see you say only once and take it from there?

Kelly - sounds like you had a lovely birthdlay - lucky girl.

Things are a bit disappointing here. After 5 days of Izzy being on a combination of soy and "normal" formula her reflux, the normal one obviously built up to the point where it really aggravated her reflux again. Poor bubby was back to screaming pain. So, she's back on full soy again and fortunately the reflux has settled down already. I'm so disappointed. It started really well and I was hopeful that her little body had got strong enough to deal with it. Its certainly going to make introducing solids a little interesting. Her teeth are giving her hell at the moment too so the poor little poppet is really in the wars. She's so incredibly good natured with it all though. My mum was up the other day and saying (not that she's a biased granny or anything!!) what a brilliant baby she is. Of course, then went on to say that if you get one great baby your next one is usually a monster - nice comforting words from my mum!! Otherwise Izzy has just had a measuring day and at 5.5 months she was 6.48kgs and 66.5cm long - light but long for her age. She certainly doesn't get long legs from her mummy!!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend.

Sorry for the selfish post - I've got soo much to get done while Luke is asleep!!!

Just wanted to quickly pop on because DH and I are going to a concert tonight and we're leaving Luke with my MIL!! I'm really nervous about it!! Luke doesn't really see my MIL much, he's with my Mum all the time and I leave him with my Mum no problem at all but I'm just nervous about tonight. Plus, to make it worse, the concert starts at 5.30pm - so it's the most difficult part of the night for Luke!!! Don't get me wrong, my MIL is pretty good (most of the time) - she looks after my nephew (who's two weeks older than Luke) all the time, so I don't really know why I'm so nervous about it. I guess its normal.

Anyway just had to get that off my chest. I'm already nervous now, how am I going to cope when we have to walk out the door!!! Damn it - my Mum is away atm, so we didn't have any other choice!!! If it was a bit later, we'd be fine coz its quite easy to just do the last feed and get him to bed, it's the two hours before that happens that are a bit touch and go!!!

Oh well, such is life and I'll just have to cope. Hope everyone is well - Luke's back to his '2am wake-up for a feed' - actually last night it was more like 1.30am. I tried to settle him for an hour and then gave up and fed him!!! Not to worry.

    Take care.

Kelly, first of all, have a really good night!

Luke will be just fine, please try not to stress. I know how you feel though, I left Nicholas with my MIL yesterday afternoon. I love my MIL, but she doesn't see Nicky nearly as much as my mum does, and well, she's just not my mum! My mum was available, but I also need him looked after next weekend, and I thought I should share it around a bit. I think MIL was starting to think that I didn't trust Nicky with her, even though I've left him with her and FIL before. So I thought I'd better just get over it and leave them together!

Once I leave I'm fine, but before I leave I like to give all the *instructions*, and while my mum is really good about that, my MIL doesn't really listen. She has raised three children and helped with five other grankids, so I'm sure she copes fine LOL. They had a lovely time, and I'm really glad I did it. I'm sure you will be too

Happy 6-months Blakey! Holy wow, bet thats caught up on you! Khai is 5months today So Blake's exactly a month older

Everyone needs to stop posting so quickly! I can't believe i've missed the new thread AGAIN! Lol, i just read all the posts since my last one, got to the last page and it said 'closed'.

Khai still has all the signs of teething...but not teeth I can't see any coming through. So hmmm. Hopefully the poor bubba has one soon.

I was wrapping chrissy pressies yesterday and Khai kept scrunching up all the paper! lol. So i moved him away (on the floor), but somehow he dragged himself back over. He's not crawling yet, not really anything close to it...just kind of wriggles around until he moves a little bit.

Is anyones bubs still not sleeping through?? Khai did for 3 nights in a row the other week...but now he's back to waking twice a night Sigh. I thought he should be sleeping through by now.

Oh, another q, how much formula (for those formula feeding mums) does your bub have at a time? Khai is still only on 150mls every 4hours...but i think i should raise it...don't know.

Oh, a massive thanks to those who voted for Khai Hes made finals. Lol, his 'popped' pic looks a little funny...but still cute

Hope to chat to you all soon.

P.S - Anyone from QLD?? If so...where abouts? I'm in Rockhampton...
