Wow Kate shes growing nicely. Am glad shes better. Sounds like she will give the crawling a miss. Have fun at work!
Jo sounds like Willow is doing well too. Good to hear from you. Sorryto hear about your dogs.
Us- we have had night after night after night of crud sleep. Becs top teeth have cut but now she has a cold. Shes tossing and turning all the time and grizzling. At least shes not having several feeds over night like over the weekend! Shes been sleeping with us coz I cant settle her. Shes also been waking dd1 up too coz shes been crying soo much. Needless to say I am very tired. Anyway, dd1 is stirring. I hope she will leep longer. Shes so grizzly at night as she no longer has day sleeps. Bec is stuggling to have 2 day sleeps and when she does they are no longer than an hour. I just figure I got kids who dont sleep well.
Jo - Great to hear from you. Willow sounds great. Hopefully she'll get used to a bottle soon so you have have a break for some feeds. You're lucky no AF though. I am really sorry about your dogs. My dog that I had had for 14 years died last year. I haven't turned Lara's car seat around yet but thinking I need to very soon. She is getting too long rear ward facing and also getting a bit heavy for me to lift in and out.
Kate - So glad that Bella is better. It is amazing how some kids walk without doing crawling first.
Melissa - You poor thing, you must be exhausted. Hopefully your girls will get into some sort of good sleeping routine for you soon. Hope Bec gets over her cold soon.
to everyone else.
Well Lara is crawling like a crazy around the house and is now pulling herself up into the standing position, she is doing it all the time. I really need to drop her cot base on the bottom level otherwise I am scared she'll fall out of the cot when she is standing and looking over the edge. She still only has her two bottom teeth, which she has had since 6 months but when I lift her top lip up I can see 3 top teeth almost breaking through the gum so anytime now they'll be through.
We've been going well, Sienna has actually slept thru the odd night which has been a lovely change.
She's crawling everywhere and is an absolute menace getting into everything - we really haven't gotten around to childproofing stuff, we have no stairs etc, but do need to get some cupboard locks and power point protectors. But most of all we need a playpen!!!
She's pulling herself up on everything now to, so she's standing up in the cot, up against the lounge, up against the coffee table etc etc. She's had a few tumbles, but it's all part of learning so she'll survive!
I have my pre-entry interview for Tresillia on Monday so fingers crossed!!
Sorry no personals girls, hope you've all been doing well xx
Just a quick one from me.....Bec is crawling properly and is pulling to stand. Found her in the bathroom standing at the bath, but fell...luckily my foot was there to break the fall coz she would have smacked her head on the tiles!
Am going...the AMP logo that BB has for advertizing is really giving me a headache.... hope youre all well
Melissa - I looked for you on Facebook but there's quite a few peeps with your name and I didn't want to send a friend request to a random *wink*
Wow, that was lucky that you saved Bec's little noggin.
Geez, they're a menace now they're pulling themselves up aren't they?? We've got a big rubber alphabet mat which softens the blow somewhat when Sienna loses her grip off the lounges, but I reckon she'll be walking soon which will be a whole new kettle of fish to deal with.
I'm on the hunt for a playpen - any recommendations?
I had my pre-entry interview for Tresillia yesterday and we're in on the 17th Sept - only four weeks to go. As I mentioned earlier, I don't have massively high hopes, but it certainly can't hurt, and it will be great for Sienna to have a thorough checkup and to get some guidance on meal sizes etc.
Sienna has actually been sleeping much better lately, we've had a few nights where she's slept through, and only a couple of rotten nights when she's ended up in our bed (and I've ended up on the lounge *rolleyes* ) so I'm incredibly grateful for that!!
That's about it for us...we start excavation works for our new house very soon - woo hoo!!
HEy Mel....my face book is Melissa Howell...or you could type in Melissa Duffie and it will come up Howell. I have a picture there of myself and dh with the girls sitting on our shoulders.
Playpens.....mmm I never had one, but looked on ebay. I suppose it would depend on how big you want it. Have fun finding one!
We've ordered a playpen off the net and I cannot wait for it to arrive!! I'm so sick of hearing myself say "no" when Sienna goes where she shouldn't and now she's starting to chuck paddies when I move her away from powercords etc *rollseyes* sheesh she's already got an attitude at 9 & 1/2 months, lol
Hey mel....I was thinking of you when I was at Big W the other day and saw a play pen. Good that you got one. We dont have the room for one, so at the moment its lots of no's from me, but luckily we aready have the house kiddy proof from Liv...she was a real bugger and got into everything....and still does. Becs much the same, very curious. I just had to do a bolt after her coz Liv is out the back and left the door open and bec was about to attempt getting down the step....head first.
Much the same here, becs crawling and standing up on things. Cot is down to the lower level. She pulls herself up but not happyto let go to sit, so just stands and cries! Sleep is somewhat better since the top teeth errupted. Trying to get her into a routine with day sleeps and self settleing. Something we havent really done due to her sharing a room with Liv. We have let her cry on the occassion but it wakes liv up.....what to do hey!
So I have seen a few people are pregnant again. Zoo, reborn......anyone else?
After rocking on her hands and knees for two weeks, then going backward and getting wedged under furniture for another two weeks, Harriet is finally crawling forwards Yay for my DD!
Just a quick question....Rebecca is almost 9 kgs, her seat says she can go forward facing from 8kgs and she is starting to make it very difficult for me to get her in the seat rear facing...she arches her back and as soon as shes in there she sits up. I know the importance of keeping them rearward facing for as long as possible and for the life of me, I cant remember when I put Olivia forward facing......so whos got their bubs forward facing? I suppose the one thing that holds me back from changing it around is that bec will sleep more often than not in the car and I do remember for a while that Olivia would flop her head down when asleep. I dont feel comfortable when they do that. Any advise would be good
Yeah, they way they flop their heads at truly terrible angles is just awful isn't it. I can't help but worry about that too but I really don't think we need to. Babies bodies aren't like adult bodies and are amazingly flexible. They never seem to mind the weird positions their body parts end up in, so why should we
Anyway, Harriet is still only 7.something Kg (what a little dink she is compared to her boofa brother who was 12kg at this age ) and she still can't sit reliably so she's still rear-facing in the car. I guess it sounds like it might be time to turn Becca. Maybe you could give it a go and just turn her back again if it's not working.
Year Rach....it does make me uncomfy looking at those positions....I still sit uneasily if Liv falls asleep and flops her head forward. Olivia used to flop forward when we changed her over but then worked out how to sleep with her head up...only now that we changed her car seat to the maxi rider ahr, she flops forward as it has that big cradle around her head......anyway I should try it.....if it doesnt work then yep I will put it back. It should be fun though with the girls sitting up together
OOhh what a little mite is your Harriet! Arent they funny how different each of your children are....but in saying that, my girls are very similar in height and weight at the same age (ahh the joys...can use the same clothes)
Yeah, the funny thing is Harri LOVES solids. She eats heaps and eats everything and feeds herself, just stuffing it all in it's hillarious. Angus HATED soilds and was pretty much exclusively breastfed until about 10 months! Ha! Same Mum, same milk, but sooooooo different babies. My two are such a case in point.
Yes, it will be lovely for you to turn around and look at them sitting up together in the back there.
Yay on Harriet crawling, our bubs are growing way too quick arent they. Lara turned 10 months yesterday and is now starting to furniture walk.
Melissa - Lara is 9 kg too and I am about to turn her car seat around. It is getting difficult for me to put her in the car too and I have noticed that she is trying to sit up while being rear ward facing so I think it is time I swapped it around. I'm like you , a bit scared to do it though. Although I think I did DD1 at 8 months & she was fine.
DH is going away tonight and doesnt get back until Monday. I have a mega sore throat so my bet is that I will be sick this weekend, what a nightmare it will be looking after the kids on my own if I am sick.
I can't remember but did any of you get your bubs christened?
Just a quick update as Bella is having a nap.
We are all good - Bella is cutting more teeth! She now has 2 bottom and her 2 top are about a 3rd out - man they look big!! But she must be geetting more as the drool has stepped up a notch and she cry's out in her sleep when she is getting teeth and has just started doing that again the last 2 nights!
Still sleepin 12 hrs + per night and has 2-3 sleeps durng the day - though a few days she has only had one sleep! I just go with her flow.
We have turned her car seat around as she was juts to long to be the other way around! She is nearly 70cms and now 11+ kgs! Though coz she is so long she doesnt look chubby - just cute!
Her head is getting much better and its starting to pop out a bit more now so thats a reliefe!
DH and I will start TTC mid next year so thats a bit exciting! I am starting to loose some weight now and try and get a bit healthy so that I will be right next year (fingers crossed!!)
Is anyone else started TTC or thinking about it??
DH is away this weekend - I hate when he is away! Just seems like the days go so long! And I love when he gets home as Bella goes nuts!
Anyways better put some waching on and have some toast!
Love to All
Kate xox
Sorry its a bot of an ALL about me post... Ill do personals next time!
Hey Kate, glad to hear that bellas head is rounding out. hopefully her top teeth wont take long. rebeccas cut in a week and they are huge with a huge gap!!! SO cute. I am still umming and ahhing about turning the seat. Will probably do it this weekend. Thats good that you have a set time frame for ttc #2. Good luck with your weight loss. I still have 5kgs to go, although I did loose 5 kg since about April...just been slack...luckily its not going back on! As for ttc for me...well I am almost finished AF and will most likely not go back on the pill. I would like to chart my cycles for 3 months and then try the shettles method to ttc a boy...thats the plan anyway!!!! So its soon for us.
Good luck for the weekend Kate and Leigh, I know how hard it is on your own. I hate it when dh goes away, the girls alway play up and I am usually exhausted by the end of it.
Leigh, hope youre not sick. We havent and wont be getting the girls Christened. I am, but dh isnt and my family is not religious so we just decided not to. I wouldnt know which religion to christen them anyway...I was baptised church of england and went to a catholic school!!! I want the girls to go to the local catholic girls school when they go to high school, so I should enquire....
Kate - I'm glad Bella's head is doing better too. Lara has 3 teeth, (2 bottom, 1 top) plus the other top front tooth is trying to break through plus one beside the top one that is already there. Hope Bella is good for you this weekend while your DH is away, mine is away this weekend too so I know how you feel. Yay on your weight loss, I still need to lose about 10 kgs. I was slack for a while but I have been good again this week.
Melissa - Both my girls aren't christened. I was christened Church of England and Dh was christened Catholic so I wouldn't know which church either. However there is a good Church of England school up here and someone has told me that you can't take your kids to either a catholic or Church of England school unless they are christened with that church, that's why I was wondering if any of you are christening your kids.
How exciting that you both have plans to TTC again. I am sooooo jealous, I would love another baby but coz of my uterine rupture I am unable. Although my GP is referring me back to the ob who did my caesar to see if there is any chance I can and also referring me to another ob for a 2nd opinion. Fingers x'd I can.
