Hi girls! Just a quickie..but for any of you feeding solids to your bub, are they doing 'solid' poos now? My little miss has been having solids for about a week now and she's not 'going' as regularly any more plus they're quite solid/firm. It's been that long since DS was a baby and I can't remember if it happened with him too...so now I'm wondering if it's normal or if she's a bit constipated maybe??! Any ideas?

And wow! Can't believe there's a crawler in here already...my DD is far from crawling...hehe...she's only just started rolling. But she doesn't like tummy time so maybe that's why...

Hey SSmiles, yep poos have changed here too from soft almost runny to firm almost brick like at times! They are also not as often. I do remember that if they are pebbles it is constipation. Rice cereal and banana tends to clog them up. Once you get them on pears or any stewed fruit, things start to settle. Hope that helps

Oh by the way, someone p there must have been listening to me coz I was at breaking point and last night I had a great night sleep and Becca slept all the way through from 9pm til 7am. Olivia was only up once

Thanks Melissa...you'd think I'd remember from DS...hehe. She's on apple, pear, farex & pumpkin so far and loving it. Might pump up the apple & pear to help things along...although it's not pebble like, just 'firm'... Hehe, TMI in these threads...

YAY that you got some sleep...I did too last night...finally!! It drives you nuts when you're so sleep deprived and they STILL don't want to sleep, doesn't it?! ARGH!!!

    hi all

quicky from me also.....Ssmiles Mia is on solids, having the same as K, and her poos are sometimes really runny (but I think that was from her needles) to firm. They havent been too hard!

Mini-= yay for the great sleep, I had a good one last night also, for the first time in a couple of weeks. I nearly had a break down yesterday because she just would not sleep, day or night. Last night she did 7-7 though, waking for a feed at 11 and 4. I can deal with that!

Oh, for those of you who havent tried...I bought Hylands teething tablets the other day- all natural, and they disolve on bubs tongue...they are GREAT!

    Hi girls,

Just a quick one from me.

Melissa - great to hear you got some sleep!! that's really good news. Sienna has been much better with going to bed, no more screaming thank the good Lord, but she's still very unsettled, waking up every 3-4 hours. I'm trying to cut out the middle of the night feed which doesn't help!! So tired eyes all round in our household ;-)

Sienna has just gotten her second tooth so she now has the two bottom middle teeth. She's loving her solids, she's on three meals a day - a mixture of farex and vegies or fruit - and has the occasional rusk. But she's still on about five bottles a day, hence the attempt to cut out the 4 am feed.

So things are good round here apart from the lack of sleep!!

    Take care chickies xx

    Hey Chicks

Just a quicky! Bella is sitting up now and doesnt need support and she can also roll back to front and back but hasnt done it to oftern.

She is in the process of getting her 2 front bottom teeth - they are both through the gum now and you can see the white! So cute!! She is also really liking to stand up now - only with me holding her but loves it and is very strong on her legs!!

She is now eating some solids - she is not all that keen on the feeling but she really likes the pureed apple so thats a good thing!

Still sleeping 12-13 hrs at night so I love that!!

Back to work for me tomorrow but only MOndays & Wednesdays and my mum will baby sit and I work just around the corner - so not to bad but I will miss her like crazy!!

Anyway off to bed for me now!

    Love to all

Wow Kate....good luck on going back to work. Youre lucky you can have your mum look after bella, save loads of money and worrying about some stranger looking after her. She sounds like shes going great guns. If shes sitting unsupported you should notice a great improvement in her head shape. Youre doing very well.

Things have improved here on the sleep front, but I usually jinx myself by saying that on here. Last night I went to sleep at 10pm and woke up at 630...Olivia came into our room by 7am and Becca was awake shortly after. I can handle those nights. Rebecca is constipated and doing lots of little pebbels with lots of straining. Shes also chucking more so have to get onto it. I have tried some prunes and cutting banana and rice cereal, so might have to go get some coloxyl drops.

    Hi Girls,

Kate - Glad you enjoyed your first day back at work. Like Melissa said at least you've got your mum to look after Bella & you wont have to worry. Might be nice for you to have some time out from being a full time mum also. Bella is very clever sitting unaided, Lara will only sit unaided for short periods before she falls, or her sister annoys her and almost knocks her over.

Melissa - Yay for the good night sleeps. Lara is a bit constipated too, I've really noticed the difference since she's been on solids. I might have to try the coloxyl drops too.

Nothing much happening here. I think Lara might be getting a cold, I really hope not though. Her voice sounds croaky too poor little bub. She still only has two teeth but I am pretty sure more are just around the corner. She isnt sleeping for as long during the day but still sleeping well at night, although the last few nights when I have put her to bed she has thought she'd like to play for a while in her cot. Makes it hard when she and DD1 share a room & I don't want her to wake DD1 up.

Well I've gotta go, hi to everyone else I've missed, hope all the bubs are well!

Hey Leigh good to hear from you. Yep Becca can sit unaided for about a minute tops either coz she falls to the side or her sister knocks her over! I hear you about the haring room thing. Brecca was unsettled over the past few weeks and woke Olivia up a few times...nothing worse. Both my girls are getting over a cold, its been 2 weeks. Olivia has a husky voice and runny nose and Bec has the runny nose.

Kate glad you had a good first day back. Sometimes I would like to go back but then the girls would have to go into childcare both days and it wouldnt be worth the money.

Rebeccas getting close to crawling. Shes started to move backwards, which I remember Olivia doing just before she moved forwards!

    Take care everyone

    hi everyone

Mia is a shocking sleeper She is up every 2-3 hours, she has been doing it for weeks. And tonight putting her to bed she screamed and screamed. I dont know what to do. I doubt she will ever sleep longer than 3 hours Anyone have any advice for me? I have tried different PJS, Sleepsuits, I dont think she is cold. She cant be hungry either. Not sure.

During the day she sleeps 40 mins at a time max.

Sorry to hear some of your bubbas have been sick!

Kate sounds like work is going well. I have to go back 1-2 days soon and that will be on having not much sleep

mini- sounds like your sleep is good also, lucky thing! How is Beccas chucking and constipation?

Hope everyone else is well. Better go to bed, and gear myself up for yet again no sleep.

Hi Girls Long time no see I finally have the time to pop in an catch up.

Melissa banana is supposed to be bad for constipation. I had issues with M when he was a bub and was told to stop giving it to him.

Leigh hope Lara doesn't get any worse

Skye sorry no ideas. C was a bad sleeper for a while there at this age. I just kind of rode it out like a zombie and cat napped during the day but then I didn't have to go to work.

Kate glad to hear your first day at work went well

Melly WOW at teeth already. Bet she looks cute when she grins!

SSmiles Ruby still has runny poo but it's a bit more pasty. She's only on one feed a day so far though.

Smoz you can put an amber necklace on a boy. I've seen many boys wearing them! They look like little BamBam's

R is doing so well! She's rolling all over the place which is doing my head in, sleeping through most nights *touch wood* and getting used to a bit of baby porridge. She hated apple the other day so much she cried poor thing!

We had health centre the other day and she is 6.8kg and I can't remember the length but she's in the 75th centile for that so she's long and lean. The HC has a new nurse that I'm not too fond of so far because she speaks to me like I'm an idiot among other things that she has no idea about that I won't go about here.

*yawn* time for bed I think!

Hey Skye; big hugs, yep no suggestions coz it sounds like shes just going through a phase, unfortunately they can last a long time. Just get sleep where you can, dont worry about the house and like Sam said, just ride with it and be a zomby! If all else fails, you can bring her over here for the day and go sleep

Sam- good to hear from you. Ruby sounds great. I know what you mean about the rolling and doing your head in. Rebecca gets stuck and cries every 5 minutes...doh! Dont you hate those kind of nurses? I have had a few of those in my short time as a mum. Our centre would change nurses every few weeks (politics) and I had a few women tell me quite frankly what I was doing wrong, making me feel like an idiot and pushing their religious views on me. So with our new one...who has been there since Rebecca, I am very strong in my views and actually have my own opinion....

Well, I didnt get coloxyl drops coz I found some infant suppositories, so I used one of those and unblocked her. I have stayed away from the banana and rice cereal and seems to be doing the trick so far. Well we are off to mothers group today, good day for an indoor play group

    HI Girls

Yes I have been pretty hopeless with posting on here.....

All the babies sound like they are doing great and it some fantastic sleepers too....we are in the "not great" sleep basket, Skye, I am so with you, Finn is a terrible night sleeper, I have started co-sleeping to try and get more sleep, but in all seriousness I feel like I have done the wrong thing as he seems to be attached to my boob all night long.....

Anyway, better go, it is that time of day...babies and toddlers not happy!

    hi guys

Since posting Mia has slept well for 2 nights. Well, good for us might seem not so good for others lol. Last night it was bed at 7, dream feed at 11, feed at 5, up at 7. To me that is a big improvement, now I am praying she repeats it!

Sam- haha we have the whole rolling thing happening here. Mia has just started to roll a few times to the right, so she will roll off the blanket and onto the tiles, which mean she will scream. I hate not having carpet!

Melissa- Hopefully staying away from banana will work for you! Do you give lumpy foods or a puree?

Boo boo- thank the lord Im not alone. Everywhere I go I here people telling me about how their baby sleeps through. I am happy for them, but just makes me feel like Im very unlucky!

We went to the health nurse yesterday and Mia is 8kg! She is also in the 90th percentile for height, she is very tall. I have been giving her purees and the nurse told me not to, and to give her lumps and that she will be starting meat and finger foods soon. So I tried her last night and she vomited the banana up everywhere! Slow process I think!

Anyway, better head off, trying to get the little one off to sleep, then going to Mothers group this arvo! Have a great day everyone!

Hey Skye google Baby Led Solids! it tells you how to give babies solid food instead of puree. We have done it with Tallon from about 5months and he can sit there and eat lightly steamed carrot sticks, cucumber, steak and LOVES spaghetti (i put a waterproof/plastic table cloth under his high chair to catch the mess).

So are some babie only just starting to roll? (not saying that in a bad way just curious cuz i can't remember with THeo) geez i got jibbed with Tallon rolling both ways continually at 3months....i was very dissaspointed i wanted a cute imobile baby for longer

and Teeth! wow, Tallon is doing all the symptoms but we are still not seeing any at all so meh we'll see.

I am in awe of how you awesome mums with non sleeping babies do it! you are truly pillars! Tallon has had about 4nights in a row now were he has been unsettled and going from a baby who has slept 12hrs at night from 2months well i'm not coping and am officially zombyfide! Started my new job this week and all i could do was yawn! that and me and hubby are just snapping at each other from the lack of sleep.....sooo not used to this.

Raven - long time no see!! Ruby sounds like she is a clever cookie! Bella weighted in at 8.5 kgs the other day!! OMG!!!

Mini - glad the supository worked well!!

Boo Boo - I hope the sleeping gets better babe!!

Sky - Bella is 8.5 kgs and she is nearly 70 cms! She is in off the chart for height (her dad is 6 foot 7!!) and she is in 97th oercentile for weight and head cerc - sounds like our bubs are very sumluar!!

Smoz - Bells is only just starting to roll - she is much more interested in sitting - she can sit un aided now and she is getting very good at re-ballancing her self when she gets the wobbles up.

Bella is now starting to want to stand all the time and she has very strong little legs!! She is eating 2 meals of solids a day but she still has 4-5 bottles a day as well!!
She is still sleeping through the night 12-13 hrs and she now has 2 teeth!!

Sounds like all our bubs are doing SO WELL! Good work from us all!!

    Love Kate

Good to hear from you Laurin. Sorry youre not getting much sleep. I hope it improves soon. Nothing worse is there. Hope we see you here more often....very quiet in here!

Skye- glad you got some sleep. With Olivia I used to puree everything until about 7months old! Shes fine and can eat everything at 2 years of age. With Rebecca, my bamix was broken so I just mash with a folk. Its lumpy and it didnt take too long for her to work it out. I will start giving her finger food soon, steamed vegies spaggetti. I sometimes give her big bits of meat to suck on.

Smoz- Rebecca has been rolling since about 3 months then at about 5 onths could roll both ways. Now she is moving all over the place and getting stuck....under the couch, under Olivias mini trampoline. Shes up on all 4s but she moves backwards. Her sitting is slow going as she falls to the side alot, but I havent really given her the opportunity to sit a lot.

Ok...have housework to do, take care
