Must have posted same time as you Kate! Wow you and Skye have long babies! Bec is 66cms and 7.8kgs. I think shes average....must have a look. Her and Olivia are mush the same at the same age. Olivia has shot up and is on the 75th percentile for height and weight. At least she wont be short like me!!!!

Poor Tallon is only 5.5kg he is such a lightweight and apart from length we still fit a few 0000 clothes (so tops and seperate bottoms but shorts only)
CHN is ok as he is so alert and active and clever that its just that he is smallthough i'm so sick of people commenting and asking me stupid questions like "are you feeding him enough" NO DUMBASS IM STARVING HIM ON PURPOSE grrrr sorry sensitive topic meh moving on

Smoz- I dont really have a choice about not sleeping lol! I wish I could buy some sleep somewhere that would be great. Mia weighs 8.2 kg, height is 68.4cm, and head circum is 43cm. She is thriving lol.
That would **** me off about those comments too! Who do those people think they are!
Melissa sounds like Bec and Mia are similar heights, what size is she in? Lol at her getting into everything, and UNDER everything! hehe.
Kate- aww teeth! How did she go when they came through?
Im going to try some more foods tommorow, finger foods. Might start the morning with toast and avocado maybe...

Mini - Snap!! Yeap Bella is a longen!
Smoz - Bella is 9kgs , 70 cms long and head is 43cm - the MCHN says she is her best baby by far! She cant get over how well she is doing!! Makes me a proud mumma!
Sky - I only noticed the teeth when they were breaking the gums - she has been so good! Only a couple of days on panadol / nurafen and now you wouldnt know at all! The best part was she still slept through every night so it was pretty much life as normal!!
Its my 30th birthday tomorrow!! So I am going out for tea with DH and some freinds - leaving Bella with Grandma & Grandpa - will be the first time I have left her at night! I wonder how I will go!!

Crap night last night. She had a DF at 10.30, then woke at 1.20, fed at 2.30 and wouldnt go back to sleep til 3.30. Up for the day at 6.50. I am so down about it. Im thinking about doing controlled crying in the night

oh sky i wish i could come over and give you a good nights sleep....so many people hate CC but i think it has its place, as long as your confident she is getting enough Nutrician (not just food but good food) then i'd give it a go, same with the cool boiled water...hard choice to make but as long as you do it properly it can be a great method..
Here are some suggestions ii've read and heard.....instead of leaving them to cry (wich can be hard) leave them in there cot and sit on the floor next to them that way you are still letting them know you are there but also 'teaching' them that they have to go back to sleep again. If you DD is like Tallon then that doesn't work cuz when he can see you he's up...but i've sat out of site just singing nursey rhymes (or any song i can think of in a nursey rhyme tone) and that has kept him from hysterics until he went back to sleep. Big hugs hope it gets better soon. Some babies sleep some dont....
I would prefer if tallon woke for a feed or two in the night but even trying to give him a dream feed he doesn't. So yes Skye i have a baby that sleeps through most of the time but he is also 3kg lighter than you DD and i have that to worry about. You win some you loose some i know that doesn't help the tiredness but just try not to worry what other babies are doing and focus on what works for you (my gf co-sleeps with her baby in a sling on her as thats the only way she'll sleep, she says she'll deal with it later when bubs is old enough to know mum will still be there in the morning)

Kate Happy Birthday for tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful day and am sure Bella will be fine while youre out.
Skye- hope that she gets some sleep for you today. We went through a few weeks of practically no sleep and I was a blubbering mess. I just cried all day and night. Bec is in 00 clothes, she will be for a little longer i think.
Smoz- tell those people to mind their own business. Hes doinbg great.
Us- we are supposed to be going away this weekend and am half packed but DH is off to the drs with a ear problem and stuffy head.....just waiting for him to get back home so I know what I am doing!

Sky - BIG HUGS BABE!! If you are ever in a pickle you can have a nice 2 hr car ride to my place and I will take bubs for you while you have a sleep! 2 hrs in the car might make bub sleep?? Bella cant seem to stay awake in the car! She sleeps all the way to Melb when we go and all the way home.
Please dont worry about ppl with bubs that sleep through! Evey bub is different and they all do things their own way. I know what sleep dev is like and it is NOT fun!
I used to feed bella her last bottle and like ano hour latter when she was rubbing her eyes and sleepy I would feed her another bottle and she used to go to sleep in my arms BUT keep drinking the bottle and she would have 2 bottles off approx 180 - 240 mls in the space of 3 hrs and then I found that she slept through as she was choccas! But bubs just do it in their own time.
Remeber the offer is ALWASY there.
Smoz - Tallon is thriving! It really doesnt matter what they weigh as long as they are healthy!!
Melissa - I hope your DH is better and you get to go away!!
Well Bella is alseep and im about to go out to my mums and dads farm for lunch when she wakes up and then ride my horses!

awww thanks so much guys you are all so sweet. Today she was naughty with her day sleeps, she had 20 mins, 40 mins then 40 mins. I put her in her cot and she screamed and screamed, I had to go in and out for an hour for her first sleep! And she finally went to sleep then woke 20 mins later...
Thanks Kate, would you believe Mia is a pain in the car!! I cant win lol. She is slowly getting better in the car, but we havent driven long disances with her. She does fall asleep sometimes in the car though, which is great.
Smoz- great suggestions there. I have tried sitting in there with her but you are right she doesnt like seeing me sit there, she wakes right up. I think I will just have to go with it, and hope she gets better as the months go by. If it gets really bad I will do CC. I already do some CC in the day, she usually self settles but didnt today, so I let her cry for a bit.
I do have a question though....Mia has her last bottle at 6.30pm and falls into a deep sleep every single night during it. Then she goes to bed. So Im thinking that may be why she is waking because she falls asleep during her bottle, so is used to that aiding her to sleep. But no matter how hard I try she wont stay awake. Say if I gave it to her earlier, THEN gave her a bath....do you think she would wake up earlier?

Sky - If Mia is anything like Bella then she is going to fall asleep while drinking no matter what is going on! Bells will some times wake after an hour after she has gone to bed but I put her dummy in and the leave her for a while with her mobile on and most times she goes straight back to sleep for the remiander of the night. Sometimes if she is awake fully then I get her up for a little play and then she goes to bed awake and goes back to sleep. Soprry I dont really have any advise to give you though.
I just went with (and still do) what ever Bellas sleep patterns were at the time - and she only sleep s for 4 mins max during the day as well - I fond that if I go with it then we are both far more relaxed and she will havemore sleeps - just what we do.

Hi Girls,
Have been MIA for a while now, can't believe how quickly the time is flying and how much our little girl is growing. She is now 7.6kg, two teeth through already and a very easy going baby (not sleeping through but only wakes for a feed once or twice and then straight back to sleep). Her "big" sister managed to pick her up and then promptly drop her on to her back onto the driveway!! (I was standing right next to her and looked away for 2 secs) a trip to emergency but all ok. Needless to say I am super paranoid now. Though they absolutely love each other to bits, just looking at Charlize and Willow gets the giggles - its hilarious.
Am doing a bit of BLS and also some purees, she wasn't too keen at first but is now getting right into everything. Also finally accepting a bottle of EBM (and even took a dummy last night for the first time...wouldn't stop crying unless she was on the boob but not actually drinking so I thought I'd try a dummy once again and voila! sleeping baby.
Some days she will have a couple of long sleeps (2-3 hrs) and others she might sleep 1/2 hr all day. Am trying to have some sort of a routine with feeds but not always very successfully. I'm sure we'll get there.
DD1 weaned herself off the breast at 9 mths but I don't see Willow taking the same path, just too comfortable with it all - so that suits me fine.
Willow was difficult in the car...until I did a really long trip a few weeks ago (Brisbane to Orange and then back) on the way back it was only me and the two girls so couldn't entertain her while I was driving... now she is great and will play quietly with her toys or fall asleep.
All asleep now, but have a mountain of work on my desk so have to clear that before the morning - hardest thing about working for yourself...there is no such thing as maternity leave.

Hi - I have not previously joined this thread but my daughter Anna Frances was born 19 November so this is where we fit in.
I have to say I am relieved to read that someone else has a 'lightweight' baby - Anna was 5.89kg at her 6 month weigh in - she was 3.1kg at birth and was 11 days overdue - so just a small bubba. It is hard as people always comment on how little she is, and yes I have also been questioned as to whether I am giving her enough breast milk, whether I have enough milk supply (I have a huge supply!) and whether I should give her formula top-ups (I don't). It is hard, but there has to be some baby at the lower end of the graph and I just happen to have one of them. Size aside, she makes up for it in personality and alertness. She moves non-stop and is always smiling and laughing, so I am not overly concerned.
Anyway I thought I would pop in an introduce myself and I look forward to getting to know you and all yours babies.

Welcome to our baby buddies thread Katiegirl. Sounds like every thing is going well. I cant believe these people who make comments about littlies weight and they should go mind thier own business. My SIL has a daughter 9 months older than Olivia and is a tiny little girl and she is constantly comparing. I just say dont worry thats her make up, no one child is the same.
Jovi good to hear from you. Olivia does some terrible things to Rebecca.....no hospital trips though!
Rebecca is sick at the momoment. Shes has a high temp. Dr said her throat is red and just keep up fluids and pain relief. Luckily I was going in for my pap smear today and she checked her out.

Hi all
Have had a tough few days, not getting much sleep as usual. Tonight I am going to try NOT turning on her sounds of silence CD, see if it makes a difference. She has gone to bed without it twice today. She is still hard to settle, I dont know why, I let her CIO alot, but she doesnt seem to get the messageLately I have been feeding her to sleep and rocking her, last night I was still rocking her at midnight! She was protesting, arching her back and crying. I just had to hold her firmly and keep rocking her. It is so tiring and doesnt help that she doesnt sleep much in the day.
Melissa- Aww sorry to hear Rebecca is sick, poor little thing. I hope the pain relief makes her feel much better.
Welcome Katiegirl- Mia was born 2 days before your little one! Sounds like BF is going really well for you, good on you, it sounds like Anna is thriving, dont listen to what some rude people say. Where abouts in Melb are you?
Jo- oh no, sorry to hear about Willows fall!! How scary

Katiiegirl - Welcome to our group! My bubba Lara was actually born on 26th Oct (3 wks early) but I have snuck into this thread coz most of my due date buddies are in here. I agree with the other girls, just ignore the comments, she is healthy and that is the main thing!
Melissa - Hope Rebecca doesnt get too sick, poor little bub. I am sick myself at the moment with a very sore throat and both my girls have a bit of a cough. You reminded me that I need to go for a pap smear next month, not looking forward to that.
Skyblue - I'm hoping Mia's sleeping sorts out for you soon. Must be hard on you not getting a lot of sleep
Jo - Great to hear from you. Glad to see that Willow is accepting a bottle of EBM. My DD1 is the same age as yours, I am so paranoid about her picking Lara up and dropping her too. She gets a bit rough sometimes but like your 2 girls, they love each other to bits.

Katie Girl - Welcome! I am actually not supposed to be in this group as Bella was due 30th November but finally made her entrance on the 8th December!!
Mini - Bella has a cold today and I have a really sore throat! DH had the flu the other day and I think her has passed it on! I have just been giving Bella panadol and doing what ever it is she wants so she feels better.
Sky - Hugs babe! I know its not much help but It WILL get better!! Bella usually only sleeps 45 mins a couple of times a day but I guess its ok when she sleeps through. I hope that you get some much needed rest!!

We had our MCHN appoint yesterday and Bella is 9kgs, 71 cms and head of 43.. she is going great guns! I also had my pead appoint and he said he thinks Bellas head is getting better!! YAY so looks like no helmet!
Bella is now sitting up fully by her self and she can bend fwds and back and pick things up and then straighten herself up again! She is doing well on solids - she loves Pears, apple, bananna & pumpkin - since she hasnt been well she has just had her bottles - she still has 5 bottles a day tho!!
Well Bella is asleep and DH at basket ball so I am going to lay on the couch and watch some tv!

first of all WELCOME IN! second of all i could of written you post! Anytime you want to talk just msg or PM me. are you on msn biggest of hugs.
People shouldn't comment on weight on any scale either really chubby or tiny its just rude....you wouldn't walk up to an adult and go "omg you are so tiny are you eating?" or "maybe you're eating too much your huge!" so why do they think its ok to do it to babies?!!!
I think i just get so sensitive because when people are saying it it feels like they are implying i'm doing it on purpose, that by choosing to BF i'm starving my baby....have they not heard the saying Breast is Best. He feeds often enough does all the right amount of poos and wee's just cuz im not clogging him up on formula doesn't mean im starving him! I've been a size 6my whole life (except for that 12months post baby) and my husband is philipino....as if im going to have big babies!
Anyway sorry for another rant heehee biggest of hugs and welcome Katie!
and Jo!!! Welcome back!!!!! awesome that the girls love each other so much the boys are the same!!! Tallon had carpet burn on his chin the other week though we theo had pulled him over to play with some toys
SKye - yes you can give them cool boiled water. Not sure what the rule is for formula babies but with BF they advise not to as the get there water from the BM....hmm sorry not much help there. But we use water whilst im at work to put him on till i get home.

Smoz.. yep ppl should mind their own business! I get it when ppl pick Bella up "wow she is so heavy" um no she is just the size that she is... its just rude! I think we are going to get it either way arnt we.
As for the water - I have been giving Bella boiled water since she was born - it helps with poos and also she just drinks it coz she is thirsty. My MCHN told me to start early and then you will have no probs when they are bigger - HTH.
