ll80 hope she is more settled for you soon! I agree with Laurin on the age thing too. It can get a bit crazy there but it should only last a couple of days, well that's what I've noticed with mine when they get into a feeding frenzy Are the rellies all staying with you?

Hi Laurin enjoy letting your visitors help out

Skye glad to hear you had a good day with Mia!

Talking about shopping again, I had to go out and get a few pressies I had forgotten about. Silly me got all the kids stuff before bub was born but nothing for the adults. Didn't get much shopping time between feeds and nappy changes but she was pretty good till about 10:30 when she spat it so I went home. Kind of glad now anyway as I'm damn tired. I'll have to go the grog option for my dad cos I ain't going in today so DH will have to take care of that on the way home from work.

I jinxed myself!! Arrgghh. Had a crap night, Mia woke at 2 and wouldnt go back to sleep. She woke again at 5.30. I handed her to DH who promptly put her next to him in bed and let her cry. I cracked it and snapped at him. Seriously! I said you need to get up and walk with her and he said "Im too tired." GRRRR!

She has been unsettled all day! She just wants to be held. I pt her in her bassinett just now with the radio turned up between stations for some white noise....havent heard from her yet! I also recorded the vacuum cleaner so I can play it to her, she loves the vacuum.

Raven- glad you go your shopping done. Its a nightmare at the shops, well done for getting there. I have to go to the supermarket later, hoping it wont be too bad...

Thanks Raven. The white noise didnt work, so I put her in the sling and carried her around with me, she fell into a deep sleep so I put her back in her bassinett. She is still asleep now, its been over 2 hours.

Yay to the baby bonus raven. I didnt even see ours, DH is in charge of the finances here.

Sky i've never heard about white noise before......hope Mia settles better soon

Hope everyone else haad a wonderful day yesterday and that the kiddies behaved......We had xmas at our house this year rather than trying to visit everyone with a toddler and new born.....it turned out really well! everyone had a great time, and ended up staying for 6hrs!!!!! kids got spoilt rotten

As for Tallon he is doing great feeding heaps better and more effeciently can do one side in 15mins, sleeping getting better now, now that he is one month i leave him sleep from 11/11:30pm till whenever he wakes up (was waking him up at 3am for a feed) and he has been sleeping till 4:30 so thats great....according to my Gina Ford book he should be sleeping from midnight till 7am in the next two weeks!

Can you believe its been about a month already for most of us! crazy

    hey guys
Hope you all had a wonderful christmas. We had a great day, Mia slept for most of it, and only woke once last night. The last 2 nights she has only woken once and DH has gotten up to her...then she hasnt woken til 7.30/8! So I have been sleeping well...but I know it prob wont last. Hehe.
Basically she has been feeding, playing for 30-60 mins then sleeping, and waking like clockwork 3 hours since her last feed. It's great!

MIT- Glad your little boy is home and you got some rest.

Smoz- interesting to see if Gina is right.....I think every baby is different though, I wouldnt expect too much lol.

Raven- how did Ruby go with the car trip?

Thanks Littlelalla, hope you and your boys had a great day, and santa brought them heaps of pressies!

Hope you had a good day too Trac and everyone else!

    HEy All,

Hope you had a fantastic day yesterday. Ours was pretty good actually. Christmas eve was terrible, Olivia got into a new large tub of Zinc and caster oil cream, which was all over her hair, faice, cot, blankets and dolls. Needless to say, it took me hours of cleaning to get things ok however her hair is still revolting!!! I have pics on facebook...should see if I can get a few on here, but I think they may be too large.

Rebeccas doing well, shes almost 6 weeks already. I cant believe how quick its gone.

Ok better wake my sleeping big girl up....have a good one

Finally have a few minutes to post, usually I get as far as reading then I get dragged away kicking and screaming lol, well not quite....

Hope you all had good Christmas', I had a very quiet one which was lovely.

Well I am tired, my 4 yr old has turned into a constant whinger, it's doing my head in. I try to be as patient as I can but when I am running on only a few hours of broken sleep there isn't much there. I am not sure if she is worse since Elise came along or if she seems worse cause I'm tired. DH thinks it's just me.

Miss Elise is well, she has been a bit windy today and yesterday but is generally good at farting it all out without too much complaint. She has been a little fussy in settling though, which is fair enough poor little tum gives her grief but once she has it all out she drops right off. Just means I am not getting much else done that I want to around the place, which I find frustrating but need to let go a bit, I can only do so much.

No real routine here yet, she is all over the place with her feeds my poor boobs don't know what's going on. Sometimes she will feed every 1-2 hours sometimes 3-4 and rarely 4-5 during the day. Last night she wouldn't settle til 5am after waking at 330 for a feed, then she did a champion fart and nodded off.

Can't wait til a few weeks hopefully she will sleep for some longer periods around that 6 week mark.

Raven - yep inlaws will be staying here, long story but don't have much say in the matter, we live in MIL property rent free while we save enough to buy our own, her coming to stay is making us save really well though, so there is an up side.
I hope your car trip went well and that you had a good Christmas.

MIT so glad you got to spend christmas at home with your little man, must have been such a relief, I hope he is feeding well and on the improve.

Smoz sounds like you have your routine down pat, good on you, my hoorah for the day is having a shower lol.

Skye- I hope that it lasts more than a few nights and I hope your DH got a good kick up the butt from Santa for Christmas so that he will get up in the middle of the night without complaining he is too tired

Minimatron - Zinc cream is so hard to get out of hair, good luck, will take a few washes.

    Hi all!

mit - that sounds like the best present ever . So good to hear surgery went well for little lucus. What a harrowing time that must have been for you and DH. what a champ your mum is - that 6 hours of sleep will make a huge difference

smoz - what a great sleeper you have got there. ochre is only sleeping in 2-3 hour blocks still. he hasn't pulled a 4 hour block of sleep in the night since the early weeks. i was also told that they should be sleeping according to their age - so ochre should be sleeping 5 hour blocks....hmm...don't see that happening in a hurry!!

skye - yes they did get lots of pressies! we had a Ben 10, Diego, Transformers theme going on....and so far no fights over their new toys yet! mia sounds like she is settling in to a nice routine..how's your c-section recovery going? I'm still a little sore on one side...it's still slightly swollen above the scar line. I remember that it stayed like that for awhile with my last c-sections.

mini- oh god!! that would have been a nightmare to clean up!! don't kids have the best timing - christmas eve!!! ochre is 6 weeks soon too - crazy how fast that has gone. sad too, i love this newborn stage. before we know it they'll be crawling!

ll80 - good to hear from you hon. i don't get much time on here now either. the jump to 3 kids has proven to be very busy - especially with a newborn thrown in. ochre sounds like he is doing roughly same thing as elise. he also can take some settling after a night feed. im wondering if he has day and night mixed up because he does tend to sleep a lot during the day and pull some 3 hour blocks of sleep which he is not doing at night. but he has reached 5 weeks and the growth spurt has hit us so he is feeding more frequently. have you tried any colic relief products? i have success with infants friend and Brauers colic relief. ochre is quite windy too. no matter how many burps i get out of him he still farts like a champion lol!

raven - when i read your post i got straight onto my bank online to check if my baby bonus had arrived!! no such luck. should be coming soon though. how long after you lodged yours did you get payment??

trac73 - hope your day was great!

Our Christmas was busy busy busy! We had had an absolute feast at my sils. ochre slept in his pram the whole time we were there. We moved on to my pils for a light tea and then hit the sack around 10pm absolutely exhausted!! ochre has developed the lovely 'milk rash' on his face. any other babies got that yet? and he has just graduated from newborn nappies to crawlers!! he's growing like a mushroom! wishing you all a lovely weekend. i'm off to cull some toys - the current state of my house is doing my head in!! xxx

Wow its super quiet in here. Last night I had a fantastc night sleep. Rebecca fed at 7pm and slept til 130am, guzzled a bottle down, then slept til 6am, another feed then is still asleep. DH got Olivia up and fed for me and I managed to sleep in til 8am

Rebecca is smiling heaps, she loves being tickeled on the face and upper body. Shes 6 weeks old today...how time flies!

Olivia is geting there, her tantrums have been a bit better, probably because the weather is nicer and she c an play outside all day!!!

Tomorrow I am going shopping with a girlfriend all day, so mum is coming over to help dh look after the 2 girls.

    OK...Becca is waking.

Oooh Melissa sorry but I can't leave this alone!
so mum is coming over to help dh look after the 2 girls.
So why can't he do it on his own like you do every day? This was my main grumble when I was in hospital. DH was offered help but there is never any offer for help for me all freaking year. And now he's back at work...nothing! Just me and my 4 amigos (I need that violin dude back!)
Have fun shopping too! I went yesterday for a few hours and got a new washing machine and some clothes for the kids.
Sounds like she is doing well in the sleep department too

Laura yep Ruby is getting the milk rash ATM. It's on her cheeks and chin.

ll80 ROFL at champion fart! I bet having the family come and stay at their leisure is making you squirrel away every penny.

mit that's awesome news that you had Lucas home for Christmas How is he doing now.

Smoz It's our turn for Christmas at our place on MIL's side but it clashes with our turn for Christmas day with my parents. There is a 1 1/2 hours drive between the two and it's too much pressure to do both on the same day like you said. Not sure what to do about that yet. I might bury my head in the sand for now.

Ruby is going great guns. She's growing out of her 0000's Won't be long before they don't fit her anymore. Also she is only waking once overnight. She does a big sleep between 10 and 3.
Caleb kept me awake lastnight for over an hour. Poor fella must have had a bad dream and by the time I got him settled and then Ruby woke for her feed, I was awake for 2 hours Feeling like a zombie ATM.

LOL Sam- yep i know. I gave him the option of looking after them himself or my mum coning over!!! He took my mum option of course! Hes on holidays and working on his beloved car. To be honest, and I think hes a great dad and very supportive, I would be happier if my mum was around at least that way they would get fed, changed and some attention all at once. He tends to get "side tracked" on the car and is happy to leave them inside. And he is a boy after all, you cat expect much! Plus my sister is here fromm W.A and would love to spend time with them....good excuse....

I think our DH's were separated at birth! If he wasn't doing this car up for me I would have taken to it with a sledgehammer out of frustration by now
