Hi Tish, welcome and congrats on your bundle of joy.
I know what you mean by not finding the time to brush your teeth let alone checks emails, some days are so hectic im exhausted before lunch. haha

Havent been feeling well lately, i think i may have low blood pressure, i've been getting some dizzy spells accompanied by nausea, the other night i ended up lying on the floor so i wouldnt fall.
Charli has been well, sleeping really well at nights which is good for me, she feeds and goes straight back to sleep in her bed which is great cause i sleep better when shes not in bed with me, tuesday and wednesday she was an angel, slept like a baby should but thursday and friday she was a horror.

I left her for the first time today with my sister for about 4.5 hrs, i missed her so much and worried the whole time but it was good to go out with just trav and alyssa.

Alyssa showed her first signs of jealousy tonight, she is very overtired and had a big sook about charli getting in the big bath with trav while alyssa finished her dinner, apparently the big bath is hers and charli's not allowed to go in it, she doesnt wanna share it and she doesnt like charli, broke my heart when she said it but i can understand her feeling that way as charli does take up alot of time.

How is everyone else going? i'm assuming your all very busy as there havent been many posts lately.

Well im off for an early night. Take care everyone and i hope your all doing well

    Hi Kirra,

Look at me, 2 posts in 1 day! LOL. I feel like such a dag when I say things like "I know my phone has been flat for 2 days, I haven't had time to plug it in". Nice to know there's someone else who understands!

Thanks for the congrats - still can't quite believe he's here. I went 2 weeks over, thought he would never come. In the end I was in hospital for my induction (the doctor was gloving up to break my waters!), did a bit of nipple massage and went into labour naturally. Was a wonderful experience. Who knew it would work? LOL

I had a dizzy spell a week or so ago - what's that about? I haven't had a chance to look into it. It's awful that you're nearly falling!!

Sounds like things are mostly going well for you sleep wise. We're up and down, but we're having a few good days now *joy*.

I left Kieran to go to a meeting last week (the joys of owning your own business), and I felt like I'd left half myself at home. I think i was gone for 3 hours and I was texting the guys to see what they were up to LOL. How are you managing with other children? I can't imagine that.....!

We're not doing too badly - I started ECing with a bit more commitment today, and caught 5 pees and 2 poos! Anyone else doing this?

    Hope all is well

Welcome Tish! Congrats on the birth of your baby Kieran! I know how you would have felt about being so overdue. Samuel was 11 days late and I had to be induced (lucky you for going into labour naturally in the end!). My due date was the 4th but as he didn't arrive until the 15th I just scraped in to this group!

Sorry to here you and Kirra have had dizzy spells. Kirra I hope you are getting it checked out if it's so bad that you have to lie down to stop yourself falling over!

I've been out and about a fair bit with Samuel now - I've gotten over my fear of taking him to public places! Being a first time mum I tend to listen to everyone's warnings a little too much!

Gotta go feed the little munchkin now. Have a good Sunday!

I've got my 6wk checkup next week so i'll talk to her about it then unless it happens again and then i'll be going to the doc. I finally sold my car, YAY, so we are down to one car now but in the end it saves us more money not hvaing to maintain two, only down side really is i have to get up early to take DP to work but Charli usually wakes between 6-7 for a feed anyway so im just gonna go to bed earlier and i'll be ok.

Mel- glad you ventured out its not exactly the best time of yr to go out shopping is it? i went up today to get some wondersuits and do the grocery shopping, charli is almost grown out of the '000' and i also got her a cute lil outdfit too, was very busy took me like 5 minutes to find a car park. I can say i wont be going up again unless i have too. haha

Tish- what kind of business do you have? i can't imagine even thinking about work atm, im so exhausted my the end of the day all i wanna do is sleep. lol. I got almost 10hrs of broken up sleep last night and im still tired today.

Hi Tish, I was in the 16-31 Oct group as well, due 31st, baby Katie born on 1st, same as your Kieran.
I had a dizzy spell today too, I must remember to check with the OB at my 6wk check tomorrow.
Have a had a hell two days with Katie, we think she's had a growth spurt, screaming bloody murder and not sleeping for any more than 2 hours at a time...usually less. Of course went to a BBQ today and she was an absolute angel, not a peep out of her being passed from clucky person to clucky person, went down for two naps and when we went to leave we found her perfectly content in her bassinette, wide awake...sigh...why doesn't she do that at home? We have discovered that she loves to be out and about though...that's where she sleeps. Can't imagine where she gets it from because we're both home-bodies
She's gone down now though, so here's hoping that she sleeps, then I can sleep which will be lovely!

Hey FB!! Good to see a familiar face

We just finished our growth spurt hell, it lasted about a week. I think we got it early because he was overdue (DH's theory).

I can second the thing about sleeping while out and about. Maybe they get bored? Last Tuesday evening Kieran slept through a gig at a pub (laughed through the first song then slept for the rest). Weird hey! We go out for walks when he really won't sleep now. Not great when I need a rest though....

Kirra I'm a graphic designer. I've got someone 3 days a week in the studio, but there's always something for me to do. It's hard some days, but not much choice I'm afraid. I work from home so it's not so bad.

Wanted to go to the op shop today but seems like I can't now, doh!

FB & Tish, Charli does the same thing, i've been told its because they are soothed by the noise, seeing as when they were in our tummy it was quite noisy so they are used to it. Charli sleeps really well in her pram while i talk next to her, i think i bore her to sleep. haha

We had our 4wk MCHN visit today and my lil angel (touch wood) is puting on about 270g a week, which the MCHN says is excellent, so im very happy that i am obviously giving her enough milk. etc.

I also had casts of her hands and feet done today, she was sooo good, can't wait to see the finished product. hehe, only down side is now i have to bath her tonight and im so tired i really cant be bothered

Oh well, i better hop to it and get it done or i'll fall asleep before i get the chance. lol

Oh Lira, sorry to hear about Jarvis getting sick, fingers crossed everything starts to get better now.

MCHN weighed Charli on Monday arvo and she now weighs 4975g which the MCHN is very happy with, she said i should be very proud, which i am, my lil baby is getting big but luckily shes still very nb looking.

    Hi all,
Lira, I hope that Jarvis is recovering well
Kirra, sounds like Charli is growing a treat

We thought we were through the worst of it, Katie slept for 9 hours straight the other night...woohoo! but there has been no repeat. Daddy is spending hours rocking her to sleep, she just won't go down on her own during the day, and if we're lucky she might self-settle once at night. Today we haven't been able to leave here alone at all and she's had two 15 minute naps and lots of screaming...motherhood is not bliss today.

Oh FussyBoots, i feel your pain, during the day anyway, Charli only likes to be held during the day sometimes and its very frustrating but as i said she only does it sometimes so i can only imagine how your feeling. Tried a dummy?
Charli sleeps really well during the night, sleeps between feeds which range from between 2-6hrs and goes straight back to sleep after a feed. Mind you im still having daytime naps whenever i get the chance. lol.

Kirra, we've tried just about everything, and most of it works, for a while...and then it doesn't. By afternoon she is so overtired that she doesn't know what she wants to do. All she knows is she doesn't like being left alone. We bought a new pram yesterday and she seems to enjoy being in it...today at least...doesn't go to sleep, but at least she's calm for a little bit. Hopefully its just a phase...unfortunately I think she is used to being rocked to sleep now though. We'll have to be a bit more hard-hearted and break her of that habit, otherwise we're going to fall to pieces. She's just gone down again...10 minutes and counting, hopefully this will be her big night-time sleep...at least she's pretty good at those.

Welcome Shannon and Congrats on your twins, you must have your hands full. lol

FussyBoots- It could just be the 6 week growth spurt? fingers crossed it is anyway, have you tried putting her on the floor with her nappy off? that settles charli almost all the time, sometimes she'll stay quiet for about half hour, mind you she could also be watching tv.

Charli only woke once last night, fed at 9.30 then slept til 1.30 and then fed and went back to sleep until 6. Was good but once she got up at 6 she didnt wanna go back down, i got her to sleep for half hour from 9-9.30 but now she's awake having nappy free time on the floor, peace for now.
I better go fix the washing up while she's quiet. haha

Hey FB have you got a hug-a-bub?? if not you should get 1 jarvis has been really unsettled after his morning feeds and i now just put him in it and i can do my house work and after about half an hr i take him out as he is really out to it by then and put him in the rocker or cot and he has a good sleep for about 4 hrs.

Jarvis only put on 40 grams this week god i hope he doesnt go back to where we were with him the dr said it still is a gain so i should be happy. It sure is hard trying to get my supply up again now that he has had a bottle he gets quite upset when my mlik stops pouring out i have to use the breast pump an hr after each feed to try get it up to where it should be it takes so much time and i'm finding it hard with an 18 month old that just wants her mummy.

Beta go Immy wants me again.

Oh Lira you poor thing you must be run off your feet i only just noticed your same age as me and have 3 now. wow. your doing a good job, i'm so tired with two.
GL with getting the milk supply back up, have you tried fenugreek? is supposed to help build up your milk supply, i had it for a couple of days when charli was about a week old and i got so engorged i stopped taking them. They are completely natural so i would ask your doc or MCHN about them

Welcome Shannon! Congrats on your babies. I applaud anyone who is a mother of twins! I find it a challenge with just one!

Fussyboots, I know exactly how you feel. Samuel settles himself well after night feeds but sometimes during the day he likes to catnap for 15 mins at a time and then gets overtired and very hard to settle! Some days are really good with him having a few short sleeps and then one three hour sleep but then other days it doesn't matter what we do he just won't stay down. Today is one of those days!!

I'm having a flare-up with my rheumatoid arthritis at the moment. I'm in constant pain and am really struggling with picking Samuel up during the night and early morning to feed him because I'm so stiff and sore when I wake up. Not sure what I'm going to do. I really want to keep breastfeeding until he's 6 months but I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep going like this. I really need to go on a stronger medication but I can't while I'm BFing. I'm going to try expressing so my DH can do the night feeds, at least for the next two weeks as he's on holidays and doesn't have to get up early for work. I'm so disappointed.

Lira - I'm glad Jarvis has put on weight. I know it doesn't sound much but like your dr said - it is a gain. I agree with Kirra about trying the fenugreek. A couple of ladies at my mum's group have had success with it.
