Hi Ladies
Kirra - Hope that you all feel better soon. I've caught Piper & DH's cold but Lily is doing well so far.
Gave Lily a banana for lunch. She seemed quite happy to hold onto it eat it herself. It was funny watching my bub eating a banana on her own! Very messy but hey, it all just blends in to the rest ofthe mess around the house at the moment!
FB - I'm with Kirra, just wait until Kate is crawling & pulling things out of everywhere! Good luck with work, you'll work it out. It's hard but you'll manage. In saying that I'm not looking forward to going back myself! But that's stil at least 6 mnths away so I'm going to try not tothink about it!
OK, better go - I'm printing off some wiggles pictures for Pip to color in!
Ciao for now!
Hi Ladies
Been a long time since I have posted.
Just finished reading everyone's posts and it's great to hear that everyone's bubs are doing so well.
My 2 seem so tiny - they both weighed in at just over 5kg at their 6 month weigh-ins. They are both doing well though and have since started on solids.
Amber was the one showing interest in food, but Kaylee has taken to solids much quicker and more easily than Amber - I haven't tried the baby led solids yet, but I'm thinking this may help Amber as her fingers are stuck in her mouth all the time anyway - any suggestions on what to start with?
Amber is starting to rock too, but Kaylee moves more quickly on her back with this bizarre kind of upside down frog hopping - it's hilarious to watch.
Neither can sit up on their own yet and no teeth yet, although I don?t think they are far away.
My girls are still waking once a night most nights; however have slept though a couple over the last week or so - well not quite completely - they may need settling once or twice, but not a feed.
We started the girls in a water awareness class this term and they are loving it.
I am enjoying the days that I am doing at work, but will need to pick up my other couple of days a some stage - just not sure what kind of care to put the girls into. Currently my DH has hem on the Saturday mornings and my Mum is having them every second Thursday.
I am more than half way through my correspondence course, so we are getting there. I have been madly working through modules to try and finish as many as possible before the girls really start moving.
I will try to post more regularly.
Take care all.
Love
Shelley
Shelley- The girls are adorable. I just give charli anything to eat, maybe start with some vegies?? any finger food really. Charli eats florets of broccoli sticks of carrot. Mind u not all of it goes in her mouth, in fact tonight when i got her out of the high chair she had a massive stash of food between her legs, put her straight into the bath and undressed her there. LMAO @ Kaylee, i can only imagine and it. Lucky u, are you still bf them???
I've thought about going back to work but i can't be bothered expressing, its just too hard and annoying  GL with the work though, maybe FDC would be a good option??? I wanna get charli into daycare once a week for a couple of hours but not until shes stopped bf, too hard otherwise.
Natasha- I've been giving charli bananas she loves them, its one of the only things she eats majority of (over 3/4 of it actually gets into her mouth) normally most of it is in her lap.
Still feeling crappy, my nose is all red and sore from blowing it all the time, hopefully tomorrow i'll get a chance to go get a vaporiser not that im holding my breath, i have to get my hair fixed in the morning cause she missed some of the regrowth the other week :wall: then i've gotta take alyssa to the paedeatrician in the arvo.
Hi Everyone!
It is so nice to hear all about your kids - big and smaller! Sounds like similiar things going on everywhere too - my girls have both had colds and the mess everywhere has been horrendous.... We're still going slowly on the foods with Ash as she is not so keen. I am not fussed as she is 8.4kg now - but it is no wonder I have been a bit tired as she has been having a few days of lots of feeds at night. I am hoping that more food will help this out.
Shelley - Hi! I am a latecomer - I have been lurking BB for a while and just plucked up the courage to post. Congratulations on your twin girls - you must be doing a fabulous job. Their weights sound really good too - a close friend has twin girls 10 months old and they have just hit 6kg - they are doing really well, they are just really fine rather than bulky. We're trying BLS too - As well as all the vege suggested Ash is a big fan of vegemite on toast, cruskets and milk arrowroot biscuits (these are her FAVOURITES)...depends if you are happy for that kind of thing I guess but it works for us. Good luck with going back to work a few more days - I went back at ~ 7 months with DD1 and really struggled but that was more about me than her!!! She went to childcare - a privately run place and whilst we had our issues - she loves going there and the staff have really become a part of our family.
FB - Hi to you also! Our GP also recommended the whooping cough vaccine but both DH and I have had it recently as we work in a hospital. Good luck with going back to work also - it is trying when your DP is out of work, bit stressy for all involved but great that he has been able to hang out with you all. No moving here - Miss A is completely happy just hanging out!!! Hope you mum's surgery went ok too.
Kirra - hope you are feeling better too!
Kylie - I guess you have moved or are moving...hope it all goes well and you are enjoying your new house...nothing like knowing you can paint/put nails in the walls!!!
Natasha, Krisvee - how are you going?
Also does anyone manage to get much done....it is crazy here! Besides the minimum - so everyone fed and dressed we really don't get many jobs done during the day. I feel a bit slack so have tried to get a few things done....mind you keeping everyone happy is a challenge in itself somedays!!!!
Take care and speak soon!
LOL Mak i try and vacume whenever i can but somedays its just impossible, my washing....well there can be up to 5 loads on the couch waiting to be folded sometimes  So its not just u :)
Took alyssa to the paedatrician today, he said her tummy aches and vomiting all the time could only be a couple of things
1. Migraines which he has given us lil pills for which are a prevantative
2. A food allergy (doesnt seem likely to me..)
3. She has some condition where her tummy twists making her throw up and then untwists making her feel fine again (thats worst case)
We have to get an xray done next week for option 3 and a blood test tomorrow for option 2. Not looking forward to it but glad we are finally getting somewhere with what this might be.
Charli's having a sook so i better be off :)
I'm still here, haven't moved yet but right in the middle of packing. The place is a big mess and Logan and I both have colds too so I don't really feel like doing too much. Luckily my mum is coming up for a few days before we move to help me get the last of the stuff done.
Kirra - I hope you guys are all feeling better. IKWYM about the clothes on the couch!! My mum came over last week and it took her ages to fold everything  Here's hoping that you get a good outcome with Alyssa.
Shelley - good to hear from you. It looks like you have your hands full!!! Logan seems to have only just started sleeping through (the last 3 nights) but before that he was always waking once for a feed. Fingers crossed it stays this way. He is going to bed around 6:30 and slept 12 hours last night and that was with a cold!I can't give you any daycare suggestions as I am new to it all as well. I'm trying to stay away from work as long as possible as I work in a high school and don't need the extra stress. Maybe I will go back next year.
Mak - we move next Thursday. Can't wait to be able to do whatever we like with the place, and also plant a vegie garden.
FB - Katie sounds a bit like Logan, lazy but happy lol. He is always happiest on his back and isn't rolling either. He is almost sitting by himself. We are still breastfeeding and even though he has two teeth it has not bothered me yet - only an accidental nip once. I'm in a playgroup too that is formed by my initial mum's group. We are meeting up weekly and they are a really supportive bunch. It is amazing that we all get on great and there is no personality clashes in there. I should be there now but feel too crap to go out - and it is so foggy and cold here today.
Natasha - Yes we are still in Werribee (Wyndham Vale), originally from Geelong but moved here to be closer to work. We should meet up one day soon.
Logan refuses to eat cereal of any kind - even mixed with fruit puree. I have tried a couple of different baby ones and also weetbix - mixed with ebm, milk and water and he hasn't liked any! I just don't think he likes it. He is used to feeding himself most of his food. The only thing he will happily eat off a spoon atm is yoghurt which he loves!! I buy the organic natural one and mix it with pureed apple. Looks like we are going to have to stick with fruit (pear/banana) and toast or cruskits for brekky. I have also made some yummy pikelets which went down well.
We are feeling better, hope u get better soon Kylie :)
Charli is CRAWLING  she started on thursday, very cutebut unfortunately shes gets into EVERYTHING now. lol.
I also taught Alyssa to READ, she is sooo clever, im the proudest mum lately :) shes reading all the small words like sat, pat etc she even spelled fog the otherday when DP asked her.
Going shopping while alyssa is at dancing today, not that i have any money....but i need pants, i have 1 pair of pants that are leaving the house acceptable which remind me i need to put them in the dryer. lol.
Well Charli is trying to eat my foot and climb up so i better go.
Ciao ladies and GL with the moving Kylie
Hi all,
just dropped in to say Hi!
Kirra, glad you guys are feeling better, and so excited to hear that Charli is crawling WOW! Our big breakthrough this week is that Katie is now rolling over. From back to tummy, but not back again yet...she's obviously pacing herself...just like her mama.
Kylie, what a bummer feeling crook when you're trying to move. My last move was hell, and that was before Katie was even a twinkle in our eye. Hope it all goes smoothly for you and that you're feeling better soon.
Mak, getting stuff done is just a distant dream. Especially this week, not only my first week at work (I managed to achieve a sum total of 5 hours), but I've had 3 of my sisters staying here while my mum is in hospital. They're very low maintenance, and have spent most of the their time at the hospital, but even so, it's more stuff to keep track of and clean up after. Everyone bar 1 goes home today so hopefully things will settle a bit. Thank goodness my mum's heart surgery went well, and she'll probably be coming out of hospital around Wednesday.
anyway, off to High Tea at the Hyatt with my sisters before they head off, so I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
PS> Katie has slept 6 to 6 the last two nights, fingers crossed that this is a new trend she sticks with!
Hi Everyone
Mak - ah, thank you! I feel soooooooooo much better knowing that I am not the only one who feels like they get nothing done! I spend all day trying to clean & it seems that as soon as I clean one spot, I turn around & Piper has destroyed it again! I always get the guilts when DH comes homr from work & the house is a mess. Sometimes he'll make a comment about it & i get really ****ed off! It's not as if I don't try I'd love for him to spend a week in my shoes - we'll see how he goes. He always goes on about how tired he is after working (sometimes 12 hours - whoop dee doo!) & I try to explain to him that I have a 24 hour job, & don't spend the whole day watching telly! Plus, I have to find time to make my bvracelets & slippers when I have orders! Frustrating! Sorry, had to get that off my chest! ha!
Kirra - Yay to Charli crawling! My god, I'm not looking forward to the movement! Everything was child proofed for Pip (who was crawling by 4 & a half months, the devil!), I am struggling to think how we will go when Lily is on the move with all of Pipers crap everywhere! Lucky Alyssa is a bit older! Glad you are all feeling better. Hmm, you sound like me in the clothes department! I have nothing! I don't think I have bought anything for myself in years (except for the maternity days - ahhh, I miss those days already!)
Amen for the washing sitting on the couch! Ladies, I love you all! Thanks for making me feel better! Latey I have been feeling like all of the housework is just gtting on top of me & I can't keep up! Doesn't help that most of my friends don't have kids so have no understanding & those that do have one that is nice enough to have afternoon naps so that they can get stuff done!
Kylie - would e happy to catch up. Just ay when! Por Lily doesn't have her own friends because being bubs number 2 there's no Mums group for us! We go to playgroup but alot of the Mums with second babies don't bring them in! She needs some little people of her own! ha!
FB - hope you enjoyed your high tea.
Lily has finally started to show interest in her food. She loves sweet potato & avacado(not together! Imagine! ugh!ha!)! I'm glad she is opening her mouth now! She had pears this morning with her rice cereal. I'm really only mixing that in to thicken it up. She has breakfast & dinner wth mybe a rusk in between. Or if we make a fruit platter for dessert(most nights because its Pips fave!) she'll have some banana. I'll wait until 7 monthsto start a little dairy & breads.
I was wrapped at shopping on Thursday - I scored a double toddler trolley & had bothof my girls sitting together! They loved it! Even though Pip was always touching poor Lily! The cutest thing waswhen they were holding hands! Sooooo cute! I better get one from now on as its hard to manouvre a full trolley with Pip sitting in there while Lily is in he sling! Although i did get a itle snappy by the end of our shopping & bit the headoff the poor check out chick! Pip kept grabbing Lily's head (as she does!) & I had to kep telling her to stop, then as I was ptting groceries on the belt the checkout girl says, 'ahhh she's hurting her head!' Mind you, Lily was laughing, cheeky bugger, I just snapped & said, ' she's NOT hurting her head!' Then she said something about how Lily could get brain damage & to tell you the truth I'm not sure if I said this next bit out loud or to myself but I thought 'you're the one with bloody brain damage'! I know she was trying to help but seriously, after taking a 6 months old & 2 & a half year old shopping & having a crappy week it all built up & she copped it! I'm mean, I know!
Ok, I'm off. DH is in Adelaide for the footy (Carlton, I'm glad they lost. Serves him right for going! ha!) ITo tell you the truth I hate being at home on my own at night. I'll probably end up on the internet all night because I'm a scaredy cat!
Sorry if I missed anyone
Ciao
FB- thats great about Katie sleeping so well, if only i was that lucky, haha, charli sleeps well during the day now though, providing she goes down at the right times, god help me if she doesn't.
Natasha- PMSL, your not mean at all, some ppl just need to learn to keep there mouths closed, i prob would have done the same thing, fortunately i NEVER go grocery shopping without DP if i have both girls, im not that brave and charli, well shes not that well behaved, maybe she will be once i get a trolly cover thingo so she can sit in it. As for ur DP going away, i would never let Trav, im too mean, i dont get to go away so neither does he. haha. Poor Lily having no friends, why do all the ladies at playgroup not bring their babies??? what do they do with them??? I know a girl who comes to my playgroup, she has 3 kids and only ever brings the baby, her oldest is in kinder and she puts her other kid into daycare, guess shes not coming to playgroup for the kids eh?
Charli cracked it the other day, i had to go to alyssa's prep info evening so DP decided would be better to buy dinner so he got red rooster and i gave charli a cruskit and we were eating our red rooster and the naughty lil bugger kept throwing her cruskit and screaming, i finally figured out what was wrong, she wanted some of my dinner. lol. Didnt like the fact we were having something different, gave her a lil chicken and that quietened her down. Such a cheeky girl.
Her crawling well i didnt bother with a safety gate or anything for the dining/kitchen cause she just slips on the tiles anyway, well not anymore, in a matter of days shes perfected crawling on the tiles :wall: looks like im off to buy some cupboard locks :(
Morning everyone!
I hope all the sickies are feeling better - this cold has been loitering her for about 3 weeks so hopefully we see the end of it soon. Thanks for all the reassurances that it is not just me being super slack with the housework - mind you my spirit is much less willing to clean considering it gets trashed straight away!
How are all the kids adjusting to work (Shelley and FB)...I have been thinking of you both - I had to go to work yesterday to get some things done. I am definitely not sure how we will all manage to leave the house and be at work by 8am, but I am sure it will all happen when it is supposed to.
I am very envious of those who are getting a whole nights sleep - our almost 3yo has been a shocker the last week. I manage to feed Ash and put her down ~10 then Zoe has been waking at 11.30 and not properly settling until 3 - then Ash seems to get up for a feed around 4.... are all the bubs still feeding at night? - I have tried resettling but am honestly a bit pooped. I also figured a 6-7hour gap between feeds is pretty good - well would be if the big girl slept!! Oh well I am sure it will pass - hopefully soon!
We also have a big success food here - raisin toast! I was a bit scared of the sultanas but both the girls love it and no issues so far.
Have a great day!
Hi Ladies
Gee. it took forever to get on here with all the problems!
Kirra - Who says I let DH go to adelaide! ha! I was thinking the same as you - I don't go, you don't go. Needless to say huge brawls broke out over that! Shopping again with the girls but no luck with the doble toddler seat this time! At least Lily is happy to sit in her sling, snug as a bug! Mind you the downside about the double seat is that I don't have a double trolley cover!
Mak - poor you with the sleep issues! I thought it was bad enough here with Piper deciding to play up. At least Lily sleeps through, my bautiful girl!
Well, just a quickie from me tonight. I'm hoping to get a 'day off' tomorrow (if dh stays home I call it my day off because at least I can get him to take over a few things like lunch & vaccuming so I can have some 'me' time - about 5 minutes! ha!). I doubt it though. Been having some serious issues lately! I've been so ****ty lately - I bet you my period is going to make its first appearance soon! Was hoping it would stay away longer - I didn't get it until Piper was 9 months old last time. Supid thing!
Ok, on that note (TMI? Is that even the right abbreviation? ha!) have a great weekend ladies & stay swine flu free!
xxx
Hello Everyone, How are all the lil munchkins doing??
Horrible nights sleep for me, i fell asleep on the couch just before 10.30 and woke up to charli screaming, not sure how long for cause the monitor was in our room, my poor baby. Anyway i fed her and went to bed then alyssa came in at 2.30 cause she had a bad dream i put her back to bed even though she do didnt want to go and then 10 minutes later she was back beside my bed, she scares me cause she sneaks in so quietly......why is it they always wake mummy up though :wall: anyway i told her to get back to bed and she didnt wanna go so i just ignored her for a bit then she said she had to go to the toilet so i said go the toilet then go to bed, well i didnt hear the toilet flush and i couldnt get back to sleep until i knew she was in bed so i went down and she was GONE, i checked everywhere, under her bed, in the BIR, all over the house, even in my room JIC she snuck in and still no alyssa, then i decided to take a more detailed look in charli's room and she was hiding in charlis BIR, it broke my heart, she was so scared she wouldnt go in her room so she hid in charli's BIR. I ended up letting her sleep in our bed but as we were coming out charli woke up :wall: so needless to say i didnt get back to sleep until about 4.30 then was up at 6 with charli. FUN FUN FUN!!!
Well on a more positive note i went shopping today and bought myself two tops and two pairs of jeans  now i have some pants :D And tonight im going to a sex toy party with my sister (she doesnt wanna go by herself) i cant really be bothered going, not like i DTD that often anyway, haha (TMI.. i know)
Hi!!
Sorry I haven't posted in ages - took me a while to find the thread as I haven't been getting any notifications!!! It seems to be very quiet in here!! I'm sure you'll all busy with your little bubbas.
We're going well - Ethans got a cough at the moment so not sleeping that great but otherwise he's going well - almost crawling and he pulled himself up to standing on the couch today!!! I can't believe how fast the time's gone!
He's eating lots of solids but not very fussed on lumps of finger foods yet...he gags and throws up if he gets too much of a lump so I still have to be a bit careful!!! LOL!
He's so gorgeous though and loves his big brother sooo much! He's finally settled down to a point where he's happy to play on his own for a little while which is nice - gives me a chance to get stuff down or deal with the other 2!!
Hope you're all well - look forward to chatting with you all again!!
Aww thats so cute. He's growing up so fast. Charli is walking along furniture atm, she gets into everything. lol.
We still need to catch up, what days are you good for???
How is everyone else doing?
Alyssa has her first dancing concert tonight, im so excited but worried at the same time cause DP is staying home with charli and she is not a happy baby at night :(
Hi!
Kirra - Wow at Charli walking around the furntiure!! I must admit Dylan was crawling at 6m and walking at 9m so Ethans my little slow coach - LOL! I'm happy with that this time around though!!
I'm free most days...Louis has kinder on Wed arvo's and we have playgroup Thur morning but other than that anytime!!
How gorgeous that Alyssa has a dance concert!! It will be great! I used to teach dance and loved teaching the little 3 and 4yo's!! I'm sure Charli will be fine - and if not it's only 1 night!! Try not to stress and enjoy the concert!!
We're having a chill out today - as it's been most days at the moment with the kids sick. Dh is at work at the moment but after lunch when he's home I have the arvo to myself until about 5pm. It's my Saturday break from dealing with the kids (other than feeding the baby!!) I love it!!
Ok...chat later!!
Yeah better he be slow, cause before u know it you'll be chasing after 3 boys. lol. fun time ahead. Lucky u getting a chill out day, mine is sunday, i get to sleep in a lil. lol
Her concert was awesome, she looked so gorgeous, i nearly cried. Not being bias cause im her mum but she was the best out of her dance. I couldnt stop smiling, can't wait to get the DVD so DP can see. I imagine she will be watching it over and over. This lil girl who was like about 5 or 6 was doing hip hop and they were doing this lil whole body shake and it was soooo cute. can't wait til lys is in that class. lol. My 4 & 5yr old neices also came and we were right in the front row so they were dancing and copying the dancers on stage which was really cute.
Charli went ok, DP put her to bed just after i left then she woke at 9pm he fed her and put her back to bed no probs, then she woke at bout 10.30ish and he fed her again and put her back to bed and she kept crying, luckily i got home bout 10.50 so i fed her again cause she was still hungry and she went back to sleep no probs.
Oh and our heaters not working again :wall: so landlord is coming over today sometime to fix it hopefully, it never works at night for some reason and then the landlord comes and it starts working again
Well hopefully everyone is doing well. :)
