Sorry I have been missing...have been so super tired lately!! I'll do my best to catch up a bit...
Ethan is sick at the moment but is otherwise going really well! He's finally stopped feeding overnight which is great and is on 3 bf's a day...I think he'll be easy to wean over the next couple of months as he's not overly fussed which is good - but then again I didn't have a hassle with any of my boys...
He's getting into lots of mischief and likes to let go of things when he's standing now! He saying lots of dada, mama and the new one last week is Uh-oh! Usually as he's throwing something off his high chair - LOL!
He's got 2 bottom teeth now and that's it!! We haven't really noticed though...they just popped through - LOL! I'm very lucky that none of my boys have had major issues with teething...we never think about it and then we notice another one - LOL!
I'm feeling ok other than being tired! Have had some more spotting but everything seems ok..I have my 12w scan next Fri so will just have to see how things are going...
Kirra - I haven't given Ethan nuts either...although the boys often give him kisses with half a tub of peanut butter over their faces so I'm assuming he's not allergic -LOL!
Robyn - I still feed Ethan - brekky especially and if he was mushy veg for dinner...when we have a meat and 3 veg meal I still mush it up a bit and also give him some vegies in finger food format...it's just easier for me really and it mean I know he's getting a nice fully belly!
Hi to Mel, Natasha and fussyboots and anyone else I've missed...
Sorry, I'm getting interrupted every 3 seconds...and must think about dinner - think it's going to be takeaway!!
So many posts, I think I need to start taking notes!
Funny that all of our Bubs are really showing their personalities now! So very cute! Lily's the same - growling & moving about! I give her a toy to play with every nappy change which seems to help!
Good to see some of you on FB - like seeing the photos of Bubs(not in a stalkery way!) & putting faces to names!
Hi everyone - I feel like we have times when we have lots to say and then big breaks. I have had my father in law staying with us until further notice as he has been finding it hard to get a rental and had to move out of his other place.
My main news is that I have officially changed my ticker to a TTC one Officially on cycle 1 - hopefully it won't take as long as last time.
Gee I love watching Logan at this age - so much new stuff is coming through in his personality and it is just a joy. Sorry for not doing personals but I hope everyone is ok and have enjoyed the weekend. Apart from the wind it was gorgeous down here in Melbourne!!
Natasha - I agree it's great being on facebook - I'm on there way too much though! LOL! I've been trying to cut down computer time...I'm so addicted! LOL!
Kylie - Yeah for ttc!! How exciting! Hope it all happens quickly for you!
We really need to organise a catch up one of these days!!
I'm good here...had my 12w scan on fri and everytings is all good with bubs which is such a relief!!! Asked about gender and although he couldn't find a doody he couldn't confirm it was a girl either...Michael and I are thinking it will be a boy but who knows!! I dont' know how to have a girl! LOL!
Michael had his vasectomy as well on Fri and has been waddling around over the weekend!! He's going ok but I had a moment yesterday where I had a bit of a teary - after him being away all week and then coming home and being out of action really I just lost it...I got a break today though and had a sleep in but ended up with a rotten headache...it's still there but the panadol is taking the edge off...
I just realised Ethan has his first top tooth through! So that's no.3! He's still been sleeping through and hasn't been any more grizzly so that's great!
I agree with you all - it's such a beautiful age - I love it when you have those moments where it just feels like your heart is aching it's so full of love! I'm so sooky but my little Ethan is such a gorgeous boy...aahh...It's nice to get through those first HARD 6 months and have a baby that's so placid and easy going!!
Anyway...must head off to bed...Hope you're all well! Chat later!
I was about to go to bed when I actually gt a notification - can you believe it!
Kylie - Good Luck. I hope that it happens fast for you too. In my signature I should put TTCDHTC - Trying To Convince Dear Husband To Conceive! ha!
Kristie - yes, it is reat to see this mob on facebook. I'm on the laptop too much too. I have good intentions, just business stuff & I'm off, but it doesn't work that way! I have to control this addiction! ha!
Ok, here's my whinge now - friends & 'friends' - you know, those that you would say hi to if you bumped into them but don't actually make an effort to see, keep ****ing me off about the having more babies thing. I just wish people would not ask thse quesions(Kristie I'm sure you're hearing it all now!). I get the, ' oh, all done now. You wouldn't want more than 2', or the ' are you going to try for a boy, when are you having another one' . I hate it, because I wan to bie my tongu just give a crapy vague answer, but I always give too much away. My answer usually ends up ike some desperate argument - 'no, I'm not done, I would love more, 2 more but dh isn't commited to anything yet. And no, I don't want o try fo a boy, I want a baby, a healthy baby, and would be completely, fantastically happy to have 2 more girls!' It's like I have touretees when it comesto this topic!
Glad to get that off my chest - must be hormones, I got my visit from the 'Red General' today. Bastard! ha!
Ok, the crazy woman has to go to bed!
Ciao xx

PMSL.... you ladies crack me up.
Natasha- i know what you mean, i always say to much about everything i think its cause i naturally talk alot. lol.
Krisvee- Your doing an awesome job, being by yourself with 3 kids and being pregnant, i would have been teary after day 1. lol. I hope you get a girl this time, they are so fun to dress up. lol.
Kylie- GL trying to concieve, hopefully cycle 1 it all works for you
Girls are going great here, Charli got her 2nd tooth on saturday morning, DP found it AGAIN.....grrr. not fair i wanted to find one, i even checked friday night and it wasnt there! Poor baby still has both ears infected, doc has changed antibiotics and we go back on friday to get them checked again. Stopped BF couple of days ago, she isnt interested anymore which is fine cause i was weaning her off slowly anyway. She's now officially FF and she's loving it, she loved holding the bottle herself, although i do miss the closeness but shes been extra cuddly lately so its making it a lil easier.
My sisters hens night this weekend and im gonna see my FIRST ever stripper plus i can drink
Well sounds like charli is in the cupboards again better go.
We have finally arrived on GC and have a house with no furniture. Bought a couch in the weekend and just going to look at some bar stools. Sick of sitting on the floor after 4 days. The fur babies all arrived safely as well.
Kylie - good luck. How long did it take you 1st time around. We are ttc again but Ben took 4 or 5 yrs so we aren't counting on another baby. A girl would be great though.
Kirra - I'm thinking I will need to get a job if I have a girl - I think I'd want to go crazy with beautiful clothes! LOL!
Poor little thing still having an ear infection...hope the antibiotics work. I must say...my kids to my knowledge had never had ear infections and then the first time I took them to thompson rd dr's all 3 of them had ear infections!!!! I was so surprised....this last time they were sick Louis complained for a day about a sore ear but I just watched him and it was fine and I didn't even take the other 2 to the dr's...I'm not trying to say she doesn't have one and in my case the boys didn't really have temps or anything but I think sometimes their very quick to put them on antibiotics iykwim??? I went back after a week with Ethan and she gave another prescription and I didn't even fill it because I still had a bit left (because I'm hopeless at remembering to give medicine 3 x a day!) and I didn't take him back...that was a few months ago and he's been fine!
Wow at finishing bfing!! Ethan is still feeding 3 x a day but sometimes he's not fussed at lunchtime...I'm hoping to put him straight onto cows milk so hopefully he'll hold out for another month or so...I think Dylan weaned about 11 1/2 months and I put him straight onto cows milk from then...I'm looking forward to the freedom though that's for sure!!! (for a few months anyway!!) Yeah at getting extra cuddles though!
LOL at seeing your first stripper on the weekend...I'm sure you'll be completely grossed out! LOL!
Robyn - How great you've made it over here safe and sound!! When do you expect your furniture to arrive??
Good luck ttc - hopefully it happens for you a bit quicker this time!! You just never know!!
Took the boys to the park but silly me didn't takea nappy bag...We were there about 20-30min when Dylan pooed his undies...Louis cried all the way home but Ethan just dozed off with all the mayhem - LOL! I so hope the 2 older boys have arvo sleeps today...wishful thinking though I'm sure!
It's such beautiful weather today...I'm so excited that it's getting nicer now!!! I'm so over winter!!
Wow, your brave getting out with 3 boys. lol. I dont even like going out with 2 kids. haha.
I get what ya mean Kris, she has fluid in her ears though and has had for a while cause she got a nasty cold and because the fluid hasnt drained they keep getting infected. Hopefully they'll get better soon and then once her ears are drained she has to have a hearing test JIC, then if its bad they'll consider puting gromets (sp?) in her ears
Hoefully it doesnt come to that though.
YAY Robyn for arriving on the GC, hope the weather is being good to you. Sucks about no furniture, will you be getting it shipped over or just buying all new?
Kirra - Poor Bubs. Hope it all works out ok. Nothing worse than when our little people are unwell! Wow, for weaning so easily! Like Kristie & Ethan, Lily has 3 feeds still & I'll wait until after she turns 1 to cut out the lunch feed. I'm debating if I should cut the morning or night one first after that. I may cut the night first because I'll be back working nights in January (uugghh, I feel sick just thinking about it! I should have married for money, not love! Idiot!) & that way I can still keep bf as long as possible with the morning feed. Should have done that for Pip. Didn't think of it then, what an idiot! Although I must say, Lily doesn't spend so much time on there these days, to busy seeing what everyone else is up to! We'll see if I can pass the 15 months I fed Pip.
Kristie - Fun with the poo! I'm so lucky that I have never been caught out! I'm so lazy with taking the nappy bag or spare clothes. I'm bloody hopeless!
Robyn - welcome to Oz! Hope you get your furniture soon. I remember when we moved into our place, we only had concrete floors(so dusty & gross!) an esky that doubled as our tv unit, 2 camping chairs, tv & bar fridge. Then when DH started on the floors we had to lay timber battens on the concrete so the camping chairs would be like rocking chairs because they wouldn't fit in between the battens! Bad memories! hahaha! Good luck ttc - you never know Robyn, just enjoy it Maybe the GC weather will help
Well, the girls are well, except Pip has been more of a terror than usual. She's either trying to fit some tantrums in before she leaves the terrible 2s behind or the terrible 2s is a myth & it should be called the terrible 3s! Sometimes I forget how old she is though & expect too much of her. It's her fault - she talks like she's about 6! hahaha! Lily is good - her usual relaxed smiley self! Although she is getting good at cracking the ****s if she wants something & can't get it or if Pip annoys her or she wants Mummy. She always wants Mummy
I've been putting Lily in her itti bittis(cloth nappies) more lately & they've been really good. She had her first poo in one the other day & it actually washed out(I had a nappy liner in but some squished onto the nappy)! I was wrapt! The only thing is I can't stop rubbing her bum when she's in them - so cute!
Hey, did anyone see that Home Birth thing on that show on channel 7 last night? So sad for the woman who had the bad experience. But so nice for the one that went wel. I'm all for people doing their own thing but I don't know if I could do it, I feel more secure knowing if I'm at the hosptal if something goes wrong they have everything right there! A lady at playgroup just hd her 4th, a tiny girl(5lb50z) - I so want another one! Poor DH cops it(not the 'it' he would like! hahaha!) everyday about it. I really have to give it a rest. I have to try & bite my tongue until we get closer to when I plan on wanting to try again.
Oh & yes, we should all catch up. Maybe we could meet up somewhere central after the school holidays(that way there'll be less peeps around - holiday chaos) maybe at the Botanical Gardens in the city or something?
Ok, didn't I say something earlier about spending less time on the friggin internet?
Piper I know the feeling. We have an airbed (which is sleeping us and our two dogs at the moment!!...), a tv which is sitting on an empty box and ben tries to push through the window all day long and 2 office chairs. We have bought 2 couches which are going to take 12 weeks to come, so we have bought another cheaper couch for the lounge in the meantime then it will go into the kid (s??) room.
A question for everyone - Ben is going to start swimming next week - what do they wear. I have looked at little swimmers and ordered a free sample off the huggies website (which you can all order if you wnat one), and also looked at the little speedos and boardies in Target. What happens to the poos if they wear speedos is my concern.
Where does everyone live - I have looked at the suburbs you have listed but I don't know where they are. Is anyone on the Gold Coast? I would love to join you all in your meet up but i probably don't live close.
Swimming lessons are so much fun, I have decided that I'm looking forward to getting back in the water & have pushed Lily's lessons forward to next month (although, it is nice being able to stay nice & dry while Piper has her swimming lessons with the teacher, which, I have to have a brag, she is doing very well in - swimming with no floats! Little legend - better than her Mumma who can't swim at all! I might hae to have lessons too I thnk!).
With what to wear, put Bubs in his swim nappy (huggies little swimmers, or, if you have Aldi up there, they have their brand Mamia which are just as good & cheaper )and he can wear boardies over the top. Or, you can by the reusable speedo type bathers that have netting in them to catch any poo. The little swimmers only catch poo to, so don't be surprised if you dress him beforehand & he does a wee & he's wet (DH put one on Pip at home once because she was having a tanty, anting to wear her swim nappies & couldn'tr understand how she wee'd through!).
I'm in Melbourne, wouldn't mind organising a catch up on he Gold Coast though! ha! Wouldyou beleve that I've never been to QLD? How sad! May have to fix that soon!
Ooops i completely missed the poo thing, that would have been soooo much fun kris.....NOT. I never leave the house without the nappy bag, i always need something if i forget it but nothing if i take it
I didnt see the home birth thing but DP did and was saying 'how your stupid if you have a home birth', i told him to shut up he doesnt know what he's talking about, his argument is he does, he has two kids, mine....well he didnt give birth and its a completely different experience for a woman compared to a man but because hes a man he just doesnt get it, i personally couldnt do it either though, i like that everything is there JIC.
Swimming lessons....i wanna get charli into them but with her ears atm its not a good idea so i have to wait until shes all cleared up.....alyssa will prob go back next term though, shes a lil fishy too, hates the floaties and will just run and jump in.....dangerously scary..... I woudl use the huggies swimmers, luckily alyssa never did poo's in the pools
We have a new pool just down the road thats opened up, it has a massive waterslide, opened in june-july but im so lazy i havent been there yet, too cold. lol
Welcome to the country Robyn, hope you get settled really quickly and I'm sure you're gonna love it. My girls wear the Huggies swimmer nappies to their lessons and have a bathing suit over the top - I went for an all in one swimsuit as they started in winter and I figured it would be easier.
Melsa - I initially asked about the trial days, but our daycare centre does recommend a period of smaller days to let the kids get adjusted - my 2 are there for 10 hours, so we did a few days of building them up to that. This is my first experience with centres too as my older kids did Family Day Care instead.
They missed the first session as they were unwell, so hubby stayed home to look after them, but they had their first full day last Thursday. I felt terrible, they were the first ones there in the morning and the last to leave at night, but they seemed to cope ok with it. They were very tired as they only had a half hour sleep for the whole day - I'm hoping this will improve as they settle in. My eldest daughter (13) is going into the centre after school and helping out on the days that they girls are there, so that means they have a familiar face for the last couple of hours . They have their second full day this Thursday.
Kristie - Glad to hear that everything is progressing well with your pregnancy. The poo story did make me chuckle a bit - I am another who NEVER leaves the house without a nappy bag, but mainly because Amber is still a chucker and we often need a change of clothes - I'm really hoping she grows out of it soon.
Kirra - Sorry to hear that Charli has had an ear infection - we have had a couple with Kaylee in the last month too. My son had multiple sets of grommets over the years and I am hoping we don't have another that needs to go down that path. They do work (until they fall out when the ears grow), but its just a lot for a kid to go through. My son eventually had his tonsils and adenoids(sp?) removed as well and that finally did the trick. Hoping Charli's clears up and you never have to worry about it.
Kylie and Robyn - GL with TTC, it happens very quickly for you both.
Natasha - A catchup sounds good, I'll have to see how I go with getting there though - whats your FB account again?
Things here are busy as usual. My son has his first orientation day at high school today so I am hoping he has a good day as he has been a little worried about it. Hopefully his big sister has kept at least half an eye on him.
The girls are getting more and more steady on their feet, but no steps yet. I have decided to have a 1st birthday party for them in celebration of making it through the first 12 months with twins. It has been fun, but a lot of work too. I just brought some really cute twins first birthday invitations - now I just have to organise it all
A playgroup has started up at the primary school my son attends, so I have just started taking the girls to that. It's nice to have contact with other mums with kids of a similar age. What kinds of finger foods are you guys feeding you little ones - I am adding meat to the girls mashed vegies, but am unsure how else to give it to them - any suggestions?
Oh and I am still awaiting the re-emergance of AF - does that sound right? (Not that I'm complaining)
Well I best work on some of these assignments now that the girls are in bed.
Have a great day everyone and enjoy the warm weather!
I have just been out for a big walk with Logan on the awesome day. Now time to do the housework I suppose as I just got him down.
Melb girls - a catch up would be great over the holidays. The first week is looking heaps better for me.
Kristie - Yay on the 12w scan. I love seeing bubs up on that screen. A question about weaning onto cows milk - How much/often did you give? I am also still bfing 3x a day and quite often once at night (the little bugger!)
Natasha - I am getting the 'when are you having your next one' question too. Sometimes you feel like saying 'when i am damn well ready'!!
Robyn - Welcome to Aus You asked how long it took me ttc my first - about 6 months, so nowhere near as long as you. Did you conceive naturally with Ben? Enjoy your swimming lessons - we haven't started yet and may not til next year. It's more a money thing for me at the moment.
Kirra - Woohoo on the stripper, the only one I ever saw was also at a hen's night. Hopefully your little one is feeling better soon. Touch wood we haven't had any ear infections yet.
Shel - We joined a playgroup too and are loving it. It's great to have the interactions with the other kids. We have started thinking about a 1st birthday party but aren't going to do anything massive. One of the girls in my mum's group is inviting about 80 people!! I think that is a bit overkill. We might invite family and friends with kids. In regards to finger foods, Logan eats everything we do either by fingers or i feed him on a spoon. He loves sultanas though. I have also made things like zucchini slice into mini muffins, tuna patties, etc which are easy to hold. If you are still bfing, then it is normal for AF to stay away. I only just got mine back! Enjoy it while it lasts Good luck with your assignments.
Wow Shel, sounds like the girls are doing great im sure they'll get used to care. How often are you working??? I hope your sons orientation went well, high school can be scary. Woo Hoo on the party, i plan on throwing charli a big bash, i can't help it, im just programmed for parties. lol.
Catchup would be nice eh? put a face to all these names. lol.
shell - good to hear the girls are doing well. Hey, at least its good for them being twins, they'll always have someone familiar at daycare! And it would be good for them to see their big sis too! Hope your son goes ok sat orientation.
planning Lily's party - I usually just invite our immediate families & closest friends - usually about 30 people. I alays put the time the party sarts & ends on the invite to give everyone the hint that a couple of hours is long enough! Ha! I then have a seperate little party for baby friends. should be fun this year with the girls being a month a part!
oh almost forgot shell, my fb username is mrsnatashakelly
ok, lets organise this melbourne catch up! we can make it a birthday party! How about mid October ( I figure it would be too hard to organise in November with the bubs having their actual birthdays)? If that sounds good to all the melbourne girls we can then zero in on a date. I think Botanical Gardens would be a good spot. Get back to me everyone
ok, better go! DH has a mate over & I hsave to get rid of him so we can eat! Dinner is already an hour late - lucky my mum came over with lasagna for us! glad shes back from os!
