oo vicky i didnt know about feeding before bf'ing....good q!
NO SLEEP LAST NIGHT!! what the hell happened?!?! sure he bed time was all screwed up cos we were home late but i have no clue anymore! try something else tonight!
well tara if you still on cloud nine, and you haven't had much sleep you doing wonderfully! we had an alright night here. no luck with no feeding in the night! tried, but in the end gave in. don't think i have the stamina required to create new habits at the moment.
I can now at least see a login for the chat rooms, but it doesn't recognise me - when i read more it says i need to register...where????
moved evie to her own room today...maybe its another missing piece of the puzzle. altho there are mirrors on the wardrobe doors so she spends all her time playing with the new baby! shes having her first nap in there now
She's up every 2-3hrs feeding at night then is not eating during the day. This morning would not look at breakfast or have a proper feed. I swapped spoons and tried finger food (on my finger) and she's not hungry. She just wants to play. She's now ONLY feeding at night. And will only settle after having a BF! What's happened!??
She's lost 300gms and her wet nappies smell really strong...She wont drink water she only sips at it. I'm taking her to the GP tomorrow
And to top it off i'm back at work on Monday ...
Nelly - thanks for your suggestions. Will try the water at night but she is not keen on taking the bottle.
ah Ann *hugs* I have no idea... I know Matilda went through that a few times. Wanting to be up & playing in the night & not feeding during the day. Its really frustrating.
Jovie had a better night last night. The thing thats worrying me atm is that we were given a walker & I only used it to go to the toilet or for 20 minutes at most. Lately she's been in it all the time & can now use it to actually walk (before she was just sitting in it). I know that they aren't good... but I just love having the peace from velcro baby. And I can do things like the washing up or laundry without her crying during it because she wants to be held all the time. whew.... turned into a vent really LOL>
i used to use the jolly jumper like that for nat Christy. it was that or my sanity!!! you have to do what gets you through hon. if it makes it any easier, make a deal with your self that you'll use it for this amount of time at this time of the day - but even then you don't have to justify anything. go with what works...!!!
Ann I really sympathise with you but dont know what to tell you. i think seeing a GP is a good step forward.
Christy we looked at walkers yesterday for the same reason, i use a jolly jumper as well but i always feel guilty for walking away because she's so proud of herself and wants me to watch her jump! especially with the crawling at the moment there's nowhere i can put her down where she wont get into something. i need a playpen i think
I used a playpen with Matilda & it worked wonders.... with Jovie though its been hard because Matilda will jump in & out & lands on Jovie & Jovie screams everytime I put her in the playpen.
Vicky I put the oven timer on for 20 minutes LOL then sometimes I take her out of the walker & put her in the jolly jumper for another 20 minutes LMAO
We got Chelsea a play pen on the weekend and she adores it.. think she is so smart in it! Least i can do things without wondering where she has crawled off too
i put evie down for a nap and it went quiet so i thought 'ohh! she's put herself to sleep' went in to check on her, she's wiggled out of her wrap, crawled to the edge of the cot and is standing up laughing at me! cheeky little miss!
*note to self: remember to put up side-rail!*
thanks Kim...will have to have a look out for a play pen
n ow i have finally figured out how to get into the chat room HOW FUN. was just what i needed. conversation with other adults. not as good as face to face - but the next best thing. it was great
hope to see you all in there some time
