awww Jols *hugs* I hope you get some "relax" time.

Kim, its really hard, I had such a hard time being on my own with Matilda. Matilda is active. Sounds like Chelsea is too, this is when I had to increase her time at day care so I could rest and then use the days she was home with activities like play group (as much as I didn't like it, it kept her busy), and I started going to the park and just pushing her on the swing to relax... that was my relax time. I answered your other post about bored babies and I can related totally... I found out that Matilda was into more than I thought..... I would strip her down & do painting in nappies with cotton buds and food colouring. Then bath, digging in dirt and sand boxes and then bath... etc etc.
Swimming. Trying to come up with things that won't stress your body too much.

ETA: Sorry no more from me tonight, had an absolute shocker here myself, including me disolving & screaming at both girls "LEAVE ME ALONE FOR 5 MINUTES!!!" bleck... its been a full on day. Must be the wind... dunno.

*WAH***** I thought Jovie was a fantastic teether, it didn't seem to phase her.... until I experienced last night I needed sleep & didn't get it. I was up most of the night, with light dozing because she would only sleep if she was in my arms & I was upright. I got into the chair and reclined & she even complained about that I can only put it down to teeth, she had 3 pop through in the past 10 days and there are 2 pushing on her gums. I got her panadol & the homeopathic stuff we've been using but nothing worked except a boob.

Awww *hugs* :hugs: sounds like the session we had last night too Christy! Jake went down pretty well at about 630 but woke at 8 really upset and would only settle on me. Nothing was working he had already had his nurofen and it seemed to make no difference... I think he reflux was playing up he was making those horrible gulping noises, drawing his little legs up and only settling if he was on my chest and upright. This went on until after 10 when he gave him a warm shower with daddy and a massage, and Daddy settled him back to sleep (eventually).

He hasn't eaten anything too different lately but I have started having orange juice every morning again, I managed to polish off a bottle of red over the course of 3 nights, and I have gone overboard on the dairy the last few days... not sure if that is all contributing. I haven't had much of any of that stuff in the past few months so I'm thinking it has all combined.....

    Oh the joys!!!

Not getting to meet Vicky today - the weather is just too hairy... maybe next week!

    Have a lovely day everyone!

Snap Nelly and Christy! I was doing exactly the same thing too for most of the night. I'm so shattered today - teeth I know it is, the top left hand is bulging, and he is an unhappy bunny. keeps knocking his mouth so I know its sore, poor darling boy. He is asleep now, but woke at 5, and wasn't going back to sleep, so he is very tired too... I should lay down, but won't because I know the minute I do he will wake, so will carry on doing what needs to be done.

Kim - hugs hun. Ring me if you want to hear a voice on the end of the phone, I'm home and not going anywhere! I can't get down my driveway. Took the kids down to the bus this morning, and couldn't get back up. DH had to come home from work to get the car back up!!!

roll on Spring!!!! its gotta get better then!

WAH!!! Why do they all do it on the same night??? If I wasn't so tired I'd laugh about it.

I think with yesterday being so yuck and needing some rest....

Anyway... nelly in all our research about allergies and life, we found that 60% of reflux babies have intolerances or more severe allergies. And then in our research about allergies with Matilda we found that even though she may not be allergic to something, she will react because of the exposure to something else she's allergic too and usually foods high in salicylites (sp?) are the ones they react to first. So tomato, oranges, red wine in particular .... not that I give it to Matilda, but its high in salisalytes. So when she has heaps of milk (as she's allergic to it) sometimes it means that if she has orange juice she reacts. If she has bolognaise she reacts... viscious cycle. So maybe?? I know Jovie doesn't react anymore to tomato based things or red wine etc, but she used to react everytime I had it. I mean worsening reflux symptoms and rashes.

Now what I want to know is why if she didn't sleep last night, won't she sleep today??

AJP I dont want to be rude but i have to laugh...it would be BLISS for me if evie only woke at 1145 and 6. we're back to being up every couple of hours.
i am sorry you had a rough time of it though, evies gums are white but no teeth. i dont know what the go is with all this waking at night but i decided to start sleep training today, very gentle. making her fall asleep in her cot with me sitting next to her, took her 20mins this morning and 10 just now. she can just keep going and going and going! she will not fall asleep on her own! anyways, she'll learn!
i'm hoping this woolly weather is at the end! its really getting a bit much! i need to do some food shopping!
hope you all get some sleep today...and welcome to my sleep-deprived world! oh thats mean, i mean it in a nice way!

I'm sitting here reading our posts and having a giggle.... if anyone who didn't have ANY idea of what we go through read our thread they'd think we were a pack of whingers! Lucky we are all here to support each other then!!!

They probably would never have children after reading this either!!

Thanks Christy - it's funny I was saying to Vicky last night that he won't tolerate anything tomato based either.... oh well he is currently surviving on pear, toast, pumpkin and yoghurt!

Oh you poor mummas! Sleep deprivation is torture.

Is Ella the only baby that's not on the move? Sounds like all of them are busy gettin' active.

Gig - The tiny bilby is so gorgeous. She has a huge grin

Tara - Woohoo on getting Evie to sleep with you sitting next to her. That's fantastic. Do you pat her or just sit next to her?

Nelly - Poor chicken. Is Jake happier? Just took at your blog - he is such a cutie.

Kim - Big hugs. Could she be sensing that her little brother/sister is due soon?? dunno just an idea...

As for us we're doing well. Settling in and getting use to sleeping here. We're still living out of boxes.

I'm feeling a bit streched at the moment. Work is tough and it takes me away from Ella. I feel like I'm not being a good mum because i'm not mentally present with her all the time.

Today i was on the phone in the kitchen and ella fell from sitting and whacked the back of her head on the floor boards. She cried and screamed. I gave her a hug but i had to sit her on my lap to get a file out for a deadline (all the while she was sobbing and looking at me). I was already late with the file so i needed to just send it and then it would be done - then i could just focus on Ella. But I guess i did it all wrong because she kept crying and crying for another 30mins despite all the cuddles, singing and bouncing we did... she hates me sitting at my laptop.

Am i suppose to got back to work??? I dont want to be a bad mum...

    Ann

oh Luua, what a fright you must have gotten today when Ella fell. You poor thing - you sound pulled in all directions, that's really hard. Maybe she kept crying cos that distracted her from the pain of falling, don't blame yourself hon!

thanks for your comments about our montage, took me ages to do, but it's over quite quickly. i don't have a baby blog, so was trying to make up for that kind of.

Luua, bilby is not crawling either. She can do pushups and use her upper body strength to push her body backwards, but can't go forwards. Not even sure if what she does, constitutes backward crawling, cos it's arms only.

AJP - if Sophie is sleeping for six hours, i think that's worth popping the champagne corks for!!! Lucky you!

I was at a friend's house yesterday, and another friend who has a 3 yo who has a sty on his little eye. The 3yo mum's is no longer b.f-ing and she said how she wishes, when her son is ill, that she still was, cos the breastmilk is so healing. So when i fed bilby next, i expressed a TINY amount into a glass for this person, and she put it on her son's sty. Today she emailed me to say the sty had cleared up overnight, to thank me for the breastmilk. I didn't realise it was such powerful stuff! I've only ever fed my bub with it, but apparently some mums use it like a magic ointment for differnt baby ailments. Learn something everyday heh?

I find it interesting hearing you talk about food intolerances etc Christy. Something i havfen't faced (yet) but i ***** my ears up, cos you just never know what's round the corner.

Have all the moving house people now gotten to their new places? Moving house is SO big!!! Let alone + kidlets!!!!

    go to sleep
    go to sleep
    go to sleep
    leedl ba-bies
hope your bubs have a better night, tonight! (except for AJP's Sophie, who can show them all how it's meant to be!!!)
