Good luck Nelly....
Chelsea has JUST gone to bed.... all day refused bottles... maybe drank a total of 1 all day :(
Last night wasnt to bad.. but worse then any other nights. 12am Chels was screaming...having a nightmare.. so calmed her down....then 1.30am screaming and throwing herself around again so fully woke her.. cuddles and calmed her down... back to bed and slept til 8am.
-
the sun is shining again today - yay! and the water has subsided from the roada, so the kids were even able to walk to the bus stop (much to their disgust!) I think I will pop out this afternoon, I have a friend coming this morning. they have a 4 wheel drive, so won't have any problem getting up the drive. I'm apprehensive about driving up, which is why I will wait til this afternoon to go out. want the sun to dry it out some more. I am going to ring the real estate though as it will need to be regraded - the flood washed alot of it away, and there are big holes everywhere. makes navigating it in a normal car interesting!!!
hope you all have a good day. Nelly glad Jake is on the mend - hope last night was uneventful for you.
-
AAhhhhh..... sleep what a precious thing - you don't realise just how much so until you have a baby! We had a fairly uneventful night - Jake stirred twice and resettled himself both times. He is now rolling his balls and chasing them all over the house... a much happier boy. Is this the last illness for us for the season?????
Vicky good to hear you can get down your driveway - it's amazing how quickly the water recedes! I guess it shows it's a good site for a dam... if we continue to have freak once in a century weather! :p
Ohhh Kim - what a merry-go-round we are all on. I hope she gets better - is she drinking heaps of water and eating lots of solids during the day bcos she may be self weaning.
Jols dinner sounded nice - it's just good to get out we are planning for that soon... one day! IKWYM about being so run down this is the sickest I have been in a season ever and my dr gave me a bit of a rap over the knuckles bos it is partly my fault for not eating entirely well. Back on the BF multi-vitamins and bio-c and I really haven't been too bad since.
Ann that is so exciting that she is pulling herself up! Maake sure you clear all coffee tables and low shelves - otherwise she will for you very very soon! :p
Christy, Tara, Blanchie how were your nights?
Have I forgotten anyone... sorry :hugs:!
-
nelly glad you had a better night!!!!, i too really need to get back on the multis as well, over being sick alk the time!!!
VICKY hope the drivway hasnt washed away!! it will be nice to be able to get out and about again
KIM chels may just be having an off day and didnt feel like esting, hopefully today's a better day!
-
Well 12am rolled around and the nightmare returned for poor Chelsea... again fully woke her.. calmed her down and was back to sleep by 1230am :(
She is still asleep in bed now.
Nelly...whats self weaning?? Does this mean she wont drink milk anymore? What do i do now?? OMG...to much for me! She is drinking water....but not alot of solids in the day.... mainly night time is her feast.
Vicky, great to hear the sun is out....i was bit worried bout u over the last few days! As promised...i kept bubby inside!! haha
-
lol kim - good!
I'm feeling rather sheepish now - I had such bad anxiety attacks, and DH just put me to bed. so i'm feeling pretty exhausted. All that adreline running around for a while knocks you flat when its over!
Aston bit me this morning. I don't think it was on purpose. its the second time he has done it, think the 2nd top tooth that is still breaking through may be the problem. gosh it hurts though!!
I have been busy cleaning the house this morning - must be the spring feeling in the air, either that or I'm bored lol
-
Kim - like Jols said Chels may just be having an off day, she may also be filling herself up at night and not want to feed daytimes. But if she continues to refuse her day bottles over a week and she is getting her solids into her she may be weaning. This article has some info...
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/baby/weaning-your-baby
also this is from another BB article:
... Consider: how often do you eat, drink, nibble, snack, or sip through an average day? Did you know that you would be having a cup of coffee at four o’clock this afternoon, or did you just feel like one? Did you tell your work colleagues you wouldn’t be able to have lunch with them at midday because you are not scheduled to eat until one o’clock? Doesn’t your hunger and thirst change according to the weather and your own activity level? As adults, we eat and drink according to our own body signals... and babies do too....
See how she goes - Jake has been dropping his morning BF everyday and somedays isn't too interested in his arvo feed, has a few sucks and is off and running.
She may however also be coming down with something - eg an ear infection it hurts to suck and chew as I have just learnt - and it is normal for them to go off their food when sick, getting sick or teething.
Have I confused you? Sorry if I have...
Those sharp top teeth hurt don't they Vicky! Jake has settled down with the biting now - apparently is a symptom of teething. Try some bonjela on him about 10 - 20 mins b4 a feed might help sooth the gums.....
-
Thanks Nelly....makes sense....
I guess i always thought weaning was just BF babies.... which all articles refer too...but i spose FF is kinda the same but its never talked about in that way.
-
FF or BF they all stop the boob or bottle one day - no real difference :)
hope she is ok! .... and you too!
-
Evies not interesting in bf's during the day but guzzles at night - so i am EXPLODING here! i lent my breast pump to my SIL too....oh well, at least i look hot! lol
last night was pretty crap. i'm over trying to work out why she's not sleeping - she guzzles feeds like i said so maybe she is waking cos she needs that feed?
going to see nurse this morning to talk about night waking.
geez i have a great rack roflmao
-
We didnt have a great night, i was up looking after DP and Emelia.:s DP seems to be having his attacks at night and ive gotta get him through them and with Emelia waking too its exhuasting me, but i have to be strong for the both of them *takes deep breaths* i know this may sound selfish but when do i get a break  *sigh*
-
blanche your not being selfish at all of course you need a break and deserve it but i understand thats not really possible at the moment, what time of day is he taking his meds???
-
 Blanche I have no doubt that its just as hard for you as it is for him. Its interesting to hear from someone from the "other side" so to say, as I am the one in my house who suffers from anxiety attacks - and DH is the one who looks after me when I'm in the midst of them. Most of the time I can manage it myself - after lots of therapy and learning how to breath etc. but sometimes it goes to far before I can get a hold of it. Is your DP doing some counselling, or learning some breathing techniques? PM if you want to ask me anything. I have suffered from Acute anxiety disorder for a long time... Hang in there hun - is there anyone who can have Emelia for a few hours, so you can have some much needed YOU time?
lol Tara at the great rack... good luck at the nurse. Hope you get some answers
Kim - like Nelly said it sounds like she is weaning herself to me as well. Aston is dropping that first feed of the day at the moment too - today he didn't have a good feed til I went to put him down for his sleep at 9.45 - which he is still sleeping!! Hows your baby bump going?
Hi Christy - how's things in your world.
Lucky you Jols going out for dinner....really need to organise that soon to do with my DH too!!
Ann - how is work going, and the gorgeous Ella?
Anyone heard from Meredith?
-
He is taking them in the morning..how long do they normally start to take effect is it 2 weeks?
-
2 weeks - and then optimum results at around 4 weeks. if he takes them at night they may help him sleep....
-
Yeah i think it must be weaning :(
The bump.. OMG... the blimp bump....argh... im huge compared to with Chelsea... i actully waddle along this time :P
-
I was bigger with Nathan, and even bigger with Aston - but my bubs were all around the same weight - go figure! are you sleeping any better?
-
blanche i was taking mine in the morning but switched to bedtime as they where making me drowsy, maybe he needs to alter when he takes it, how much is the dose?? perhaps ring the dr and aske some questions, has he increased the dosage since starting??? i started on 25mg for two weeks them increased to 50mg, i'm currentlt trying to decrease my amount very slowly
-
the doctor told him to take them in the morning as they will make it hard for him to sleep and has given him valium to help him sleep not that anything seems to help, he started on 25mg aswell and will go upto 50mg tomorrow and then after the 2 weeks will go up higher.
-
mmmit's a tough one, everyones so different perhaps try taking it at lunchtime, then the full effects of it are working when he needs it most
-
Not sleeeping at all.. maybe i need some valium?? Oh i wish
When i was on dep meds i was told take in the morning cos if at night they would keep me awake.. and that they did!!!
OMG Jols.. i loooove ur ticker pic.. wat a hunny!
-
Thnx AJP, beautiful pic
we are off to see his GP this arvo again, so will get some more info from him..
-
thanks guys, but god does she hate those bloody wings!!!
goodluck this arvo at the Dr's blanche
-
Jols - your ticker photos are gorgeous. don't worry, in about 12mths time she will love the wings - and you will hate them because she will never want to take the bloody things off lol
-
Chelsea was like that with her easter bunny ears!!
-
LOL then the wings get all frayed and are barely hanging together & they want to sleep in them!!
Hi girls I read this morning but didn't post.... I thought I did...hmmmm.
Kim did you read my post about Matilda & bottles and deciding not to feed off them for a week or two. The other thing I forgot to say was that I gave Matilda heaps of homemade iceblocks with formula and banana or something and made "smoothies" to get us through that time. Goodluck!!
Blanchie it is interesting to read the "other side" as well... I was on zoloft until last week (scary) and I found 25mg was all I needed, when I went to 50mg I felt quite detached from reality... its a strange feeling. I had to take them at night, otherwise I would be very sleepy in the middle of the day as well. I guess they want the strongest time to be in the evenings for him, which would mean he should take them morning or lunchtime.
ETA: Opps forgot to talk about me :) We are going well, enjoying this cloth nappy trials. I came up with a business idea the other week & since then can not get my mind off it, but its going to be hard to figure out how to do it & am going to see a business planner to help me get started. Scary as if you asked me a month ago if I wanted to own my own business, I would have laughed at you & said NEVER. Now I've made an appointment to talk with someone about how to do it... weird.
Jovie had 3 teeth come through last week & since Saturday has been waking up once at night. FANTASTIC!>
-
Yes i read your post Christy.. thanks!!
Last bottle i offered 150ml and she drank it all withnot to many dramas....no screaming match at least and she drank the full amount... so maybe thats all she wants now?
Ill jut keep trying all the great suggestions offered. I guess main thing is that she is still getting fluids and some form of food into her tummy....better then nothing :)
-
Doctors appt went considering well, DP may have to be hospitalised but we will deal with that when it comes may be the best thing though. he has now been bumped up the list to see a psychiatrist so hopefull in a week he can start seeing one.
-
aww balnche as bad as it sounds it's the best thing for him
-
All the best Blanche....glad to hear all is under control...at least he has a great GP who is willing to help.
Hugs hun... we are here for you and DP...and of course little Emelia :)
Christy i to have finally made my first MCN purchase but still waiting for them to arrive. I have some Cute tooshies, green kids pockets, bubblebubs and some BBH magic alls....wanted my BBH bamboos...but non in stock so have to wait!! GRRR!! Yay on the teeth......i wish some more would come thru for us... still only the bottom pair!
-
Kim I was just looking at some breastfeeding beads, so I put an old dangly necklace on & Jovie had the best feed she's had all week. She's been so distracted & resentful of being held still... maybe put something dangly on that she can play with while she has a bottle? Or wrap something around the bottle for her to concentrate on?....
-
Hey girls,
Oh Blanche, try and look after yourself, i'll be thinking of you.
didnt make it to the nurse today - we've got people coming to inspect the house tomorrow, so fingers crossed it'll be all rented and done!
felt the tiny corner of a tooth this evening! she was chewing my finger while she was in the bath and ouch!
am hoping for sleep tonight.... *cough sigh* :)
-
Bit nervous tonight.... Jovie has a rash everywhere, no temp. She's had ezcema problems but I've been watching those patches, but this is all over and slightly pimply... don't know when it started or what it is. A friend's baby has chicken pox atm and we crossed paths a few days before the spots started. Jovie didn't come in direct contact so I thought we'd be okay...
-
christy we have those but just on the fanny bum area!! fingers crossed shes ok
-
Chels has a rash on her tummy....:(
Oh dear....all these things!
-
Ella has eczema patches on her back, sides, and shoulders. Dont know what else to do. Will see a GP about this too. Hope Jovie's rash is OK.
Vicky - work is a pain. i went in for "chat about my work" but that never happened. I had a speech prepared but didn't get to use it...damn. Finding it tough leaving the office when everyone is still working and probably wondering "where is she going". A well i dont get to actually sit down until 7.30.
AJP - the new photo of sophie is so cute! i love her hair. i cant get anything to stay in ella's hair it so fine.
Kim - poor thing. Dealing with Chelsea and bulging bubs. I was HUGE with Ella. Because i'm small myself Ella just poked out of my tummy. People would say i was having twins.
Tara - How is Evie??
Gigi - Is there any movement in your camp? Ella's still sitting and playing. But when i put her in front of the coffee table she gets frustrated and wants to get the stuff on top.
Hope all bubs eat and sleep well tomorrow.
Ann
-
Well the rash has turned in to ezcema. Damn. Jovie's had issues with ezcema her whole life and its all related to food and what I eat. I get lazy sometimes & eat biscuits & don't look at contents only later to find they are full of soy flour and milk.
-
chrisyt bugger the ezcema!! :( poor jovie
ANN i love watching ella in your blog, such a cutie!!!
with the movement is she freely rolling both ways??? does she bear weight?? perhaps she just happy not to move :)
-
OK our rash has gone!! But the midnight nightmare returned....:(
My Magic-all and 2 covers arrived today... so excited... YAY i have...hmmm.. 1 nappy..LOL
-
