Well we went to see the GP and Ella was thoroughly investigated - nothing wrong physically so not idea why she lost so much weight.
We did cut out dairy 2months ago to see if it would make her eczema better but it hasnt. The GP advised us to start that again. So for afternoon tea she had a tub of yogurt and stick of cheese - she loved it!
Tara - thinking about doing it all again? We are (well i am)...
Ella hasnt had her afternoon sleep today or yesterday. Dont know why - but she seems happy enough. Maybe her day sleep patterns are changing again.
How many day sleeps are all you guys having?
Ann

LOL... i hate feeling clucky....i have a fear ill be the same again once bub is here...just like last time! My friend always says theres no time like now to start having babies....dunno what she means by it! She never wants kids. Happy to play with othrs and hand them back!
Glad all was ok at the GP Ann....Chels loves yoghurt..hates cheese tho.
Day sleeps....hmmm ive been putting Chelsea down around 1230 each day (up at 8am..or when she wakes up after that time) and she *might* nap for 30 mins-1hr if im lucky. And she goes down again around 5-530pm for 60-90 mins and then bed at 8-830pm.
-
Ann - Loving the latest pics of Ella!!
Emelia is having 2 sleeps a day now sometimes 1!
We had a good day we did some hand & footprints for DP today for sunday, cant believe wat big feet Emelia has lol!! DP is doing alot better but isnt liking been left alone, so he comes everywhere with me!!
Emelia is standing and not holding onto anything, scary stuff! before we know it she will be walking :s

Blanche it must be tough to not get any time to yourself alone. I would get frustrated. I crave alone time.
I got to meet up today with nelly & Vicky & kiddies!!! YAY! We also met one of nelly's friends up at the park. It was great to be out of the house & just get to sit for a while with the babies. Also to be able to talk IRL. I love seeing Jovie with the boys. Seeing her with babies the same age. Its gorgeous. She had her ezcema flair up a little while we were out & its disappeared again??? who knows.... I'm tired of tracking everything I eat, but I suppose its life for us for now.
She's been having a tough time at night going to bed. She just keeps waking & is miserable & I'm pretty sure its because of something I've eaten or she is. Tonight she's refluxy again. I know its not dairy, but it could be the oats. She had it until Wednesday when I found out she was allergic to them, and twice a day.... so maybe its just getting out of her system.
-
Hey Ann,
Day sleeps for us are funny. if she has a really good night - like last night and the one before (2 in a row..booyah!) then her day sleeps are like 40mins and she's grumpy when she wakes up
if she doesnt really sleep so great at night then she sleeps for anywhere between 40mins - 1.5hrs. actually any naps that are only 40mins long means she wakes up grumpy.
either way she has a sleep every 2.5-3hrs and depending on how late her lunchtime nap is, she'll have 2-3 naps a day
-
Finally I met Vicky IRL today! And found out that Christy and I have a connection that goes back a way... wow!
Sleeps Tara - I think Jake is trying to reorganise his sleeps and feeds. He has dropped his 10am BF and some days doesn't have his 2pm one either. His sleeps are the same. Some days will go down @ 8am and sleep for 2 hrs, then back down by 130 --2pm and sleep for another hour. Other days he won't go down until 11ish (1 1/2 to 2 hrs) and that will be his only sleep - I try to put him down for pm and he screams for 45mins and then sleeps for a half hour so really a waste of time and energy. His nights are pretty crap ATM too - some nights only one or two wakings and resettle himself at least once, others 4 wakings and have to cuddle to settle he is so upset.... I wish someone would give me a copy of his operating manual... but usual bedtime 630 - 7 and waking has been 530 but usually 6-630.
We went to dinner 2nite for friends up from Sydney and took Jake with us - even though Christy did offer to babysit - and he was pretty good. however we were home by 9 and are about to go to bed... we are sooo soft.
Hi everyone else am going to bed - very tied two glasses of bubbles and I am asleep!
-
Well Jovie had a very bad afternoon. She kept screaming poor sausage. I took her to the neighbours house so I could go to the loo and start dinner and came back 10 minutes later & she was still screaming her head off. Luckily I didn't leave her there longer... Then we came home & had dinner & things settled. Whew!!!
-
Everyone here has gastro, except me DH and evie - she's been a bit chucky today but nothing much and is happy otherwise.
What do you guys give bubby for lunch? i'm really struggling for ideas! and breakfast actually. she doesnt seem to want to eat anything in the morning anymore.
She's maybe having 1-2 big bf a day and otherwise its just a quick slurp here and there so i'm worrying she's not getting enough to eat.
-
Emelia has a sandwich, peice of fruit and cheese for lunch now, doesnt usually eat it all though!!
hope u dont get gastro yucky
-
Chelsea has a 38.4 deg temp here, red face, grouchy..but on a good note now drinking formula. Coles had run out of the normal Karicare follow on so Craig got the Gold one.. and she gulps it down so fast... 220ml every bottle again.
Breakfast...we dont have that...lunch....fruit gel/custard/yoghurt and sometimes fresh fruit. Dont really have lunch either. Dinner is the only 'meal' we have. So what ever we are having plus either yoghurt/custard/fruit gel....what ever she hasnt had during the day.
Also has water all day plus sometimes a rusk or just plain biscuits.
Any how.. must fly... poor chicken just isnt well, just dosed up on Nurofen for the night.
-
For breakfast we have pured fruit (either apple or pear) and toast or oatmeal.
We have morning tea - which can be banana bread/ cheese and then at lunch we have vegie/noodles with chicken. Sometimes vegemite and bread.
Afternoon tea Ella has yogurt, custard or gel. And dinner is pasta, casserole, noodles anything, followed by some fruit.
Lunch and dinner is similar sometimes that same :) She doesnt mind.
Tonight i made some Salmon with potato and broccoli with white sauce. DH made some beef mince pasta. She'll have that for the next week for dinner.
Tomorrow I'll make some little banana muffins for her (since she loves eating our banana bread) and she can have some for afternoon tea.
She ate so much tonight i was scary. A whole small bowl of pasta and then a tub of Golbourn Valley pured fruit. Followed by a big breastfeed - Dunno why she's losing weight.
its a mystery.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL THE SPECIAL DADDIES!!!!!!!
christy hope you dau today is better poor jovie and you
tara hope that bug stays away thats the last thing you need!!
hi to everyone else!!!
-
morning all - hope all the daddies are having lovely fathers day. we were going to go out for breakfast, but dh just wanted to stay home. so we have been pottering around - he cooked breakfast lol. have had a lovely weekend, even it was full of cleaning activities.
Aston has b/fast - apple/pear with cereal/oats, toast, m/tea - fruit (kiwi/strawberry/pear etc) or a rusk/cornthin/arrowroot, lunch - veges or yogurt with fruit/corn thins/ cheese on toast, a/tea- similar to m/tea, dinner- veges and meat mix of some description, custard for dessert. for a bub that had so much trobule with food to begin with he is right into it now. he is usually only have three b/f a day now. I am doing a big cookup this morning of food for him. one thing I make for him that he loves is sweet potato, potato, chicken and cheese. I found a recipe for chicken and corn chowder, so are making that today for all us, with the left overs for Aston to freeze.
-
wow, what excellent neighbours you must have, to be able to get them to mind your ratbag while you go to the loo - that's wonderful
bilby is still thriving on breastmilk, pureed fruit with banana custard once a day - and that's it! compared to all the other babies, it would appear i have her on starvation rations, but it's all i can get her to eat!
i have caught her doing a bit of forward crawling, it was in a big empty room at a community centre, so now i think it's environmental. at home, where we're cramped, and there are no big empty areas of floor, all she does if pull herself up to standing against sofa, coffee table etc. I think if i put her down in empty spaces (like at the community centre) she would be crawling alot sooner.
still won't let anyone see her two fangs. bit me early thismorning, i screamed with pain, thoguht she would cry at my scream, but to my surprise, she didn't! i couldn't help it, she bit me really hard!
took me a while to find this thread again, i am hopeless at remembering the password too, but i like it when i find this thread again and hear what you're all up to with your bubs. Sorry to hear so many unwell. Hope Chelsea's temp goes down soon Kimbaz! fingers crossed.
My chest is about to explode, so i'm off to perform Milkbar Duty! ha ha.
-
thanks for lunch advice. i'm a bad eater so i really dont want evie to get into the habit of skipping meals!
AF returns with a vengeance...endometriosis obviously still a prob for me. i havent been in this much pain since labour! going to retire now with hotwater bottle and movie with dh
happy fathers day too
-
here taralee - have some of my chocolate mudcake, poor darling, you sound like you need something yummy to distract you from the pain.
-
Meals - Jake has breakfast of 1 1/2 weetbix with apple and prunes, toast and sultanas; morning tea is usually a pear and some dried fruit and a few crackers; lunch toast fruit and yoghurt; afternoon tea usually fruit or some crackers; and dinner he is only eating jars atm so a big jar of food yoghurt and fruit. Yes he eats a lot of fruit as he has decided that it is one o the few food groups he will eat atm!
How was the weekends? Our was lovely! We had a father's day picnic at Roma St Parklands (so I could check it out for Thursday) and Jake has gone back to only waking once the past 2 nights. I had a baking fest (lots of over-ripe bananas) yesterday morning and arvo and made some banana bread and Jake loves it! Also made a sour cream banana cake with chocolate cream cheese frosting and vanilla cream cheese frosting and sliced bananas in the middle! Yum!!! DH has decided he needs to go on a diet so is kick starting it with that celebrity slim drink, and can't eat any of wht I baked so I distributed it to my neighbors last night.
Tara if you lived closer I would drop some into you! Jols I am feeling for you - we have a weekend wedding in a few weeks and Jake is staying here with his nana who is flying up from sydney to watch him - my bbs will be humongus!! However I have bought some "Lilypadz" from Christy's mcn party and they are latex breat pads. They don't absorb rather they put pressure on your nipple to prevent let down - tested them on the weekend and they work!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope all are well - sorry not many personals am too far behind the ball!
Oh and if you are interested.....
We are still meeting at the Roma Street Parklands on Thursday however after checking it out on the weekend it will be easier for those using public transport to meet at the "celebration Lawn" rather than the ampitheatre. This is the first & main flat grassed area you come to. There is a stage area and I will be there with balloons on my pram! Once we've met up we'll move to the next grassed area over, under the walkway, called the Forest Meadow near the Lake Precinct. You'll see the balloons on my pram. There is a map available on the Roma St Parklands website.
So details again -
Thursday 6th September 11am
Roma Street Parklands,
Celebration Lawn
meet at the stage and we will move to the next lawn over, under the walkway, where there are lots of trees and shade
BYO picnic blanket etc
PM me if you want my mobile number for contact if you get lost etc.

morning... sorry feeling extremely flat at the moment. :( think everything is catching up on me and the smile I have had plastered to my head is cracking.
nelly I won't be coming on Thursday - Friday is a public holiday in Noosa, and we are going to stay at a resort on Friday, so I will be spending the day cleaning my house, and getting the various bits and pieces I have to get ready to take (gone are the days where I can chuck some clothes in a bag and head out the door!!) I'm disappointed that I can't make it, but know that with everything else I am doing this week, something has to go... plus because I'm feeling so crap at the moment, I'm not that good company. I hope that it is a good day - maybe I can go to the next one. Feel bad because it was my bloody suggestion to have a meet there. sorry. :(
god how much I would love to go back to bed and pull the covers up over my head.
-
:hugs: vicky - it's ok! I know exactly what you mean about pulling the covers back over your head... way gone are those days!
Try to have a good day and call if you need a chat!
-
Still sick here. Chelsea was up most of the night....im ready to explode. Craig is a zombie too. Going to the doctors today when she wakes up more then likely. Something is not righ about my lil girl.
-
Kim i hope all goes well at the doctors and Chels is better soon.
-
*hugs* Kim I really feel for you.
I'm hoping for Thursday.
I have had really painful bb's today, really lumpy & horrible. I don't have a temp yet but this arvo I'm starting to feel like someone's wrapping a towel around my head... make sense? just dampened & congested. I keep taking my temp, and massaging my bb's and taking hot showers and feeding Jovie as much as I can.... *please no mastitis!!!*
-
Ok, so who's going on thursday?
sounds like it's just going to be me and nelly
-
i'd love to come!! bit far for us though :P
KIM hows chels???
TARA any sign of gastro??
-
No gastro signs here thank goodness! phew!!
Plus took evie to get weighed today and she's put all the weight she'd lost back on! the nurse said i need to cut out night feeds to encourage her to eat more during the day....oh i dont know if i can do it!
BTW this nurse told me weet-bix are fine at 8mths, unlike the other nurse who said wait til 10mths.
-
Chelsea seem much better, more alert and bright eyed. Temp down to normal, but still giving nurofen now and then. Has slept more then usual. If we have a bad night we off to the 24 hr clinic.
Oh i wish i could have come to the meet-up....but like Jols said... bit to far for us too!
-
Well... we have just returned from the dr... Chelsea has the biggest rash all over her body and the runniest poo's ive ever seen a child do. I have had to change her clothes 5 times today and 2 showers. Dr says nothing can be done..and she has a viral infection, but im to stop giving her milk. Only to offer water or juice.
Poor possum :(
-
Viral infections suck cos there isnt much we can do for them. poor little muffin hope she gets better soon.
-
oh KimBaz - how is your preggie nose coping with Chelsea's nappies right now? you poor thing!
wow, no milk at nine months, i thought milk was crucial at the age our bubs are, unless it's just no milk whilst she has the virus. Your washing machine must be going non=stop with all those clothes changes etc for Chels, so much for a preg woman taking it easy! Sounds to me that's only a luxury for the first time you're pregnant.
Christy - hope you aren't getting mastitis
When i read the Lilypadz ref, i did a double take - then i realised there are Lilypadz breast pads, and there are also Lilypads mama pads. Not positive of the spelling, but the name for both SOUNDS the same.
Do you think if a mum with a nine month old can't get it together enough to do any cooking and is being sustained on weetbix, toast and drivethru - is that PND, or being lazy? I seem to function well enough to feed and change my bub, do laundry, and very little else. I get adult contact by going online with forums like this. I feel overwhelmed by everything and budgetting, housework, cooking ,cleaning, is all just not getting done, or a little bit done by dh. we are in such chaos, i thought i would be back doing at least some of that stuff by now. I usually am a keen gardener, for the first time in any place i've lived, there are weeds in our back yard as high as my waist.
-
GIGI please dont feel you have to be doing all those things!! we all have out moments when everything is not possible, it takes me all day to do the laundry or cleaning up, but theres alwasys tomorrow
KIM have you tried giving chels hydratlyte or pedalyte???? id give that over water and juice, hope she gets better soon poor thing :(
-
On to 2nd clothes change already :(
Her lil bum is so sore she screams to have it wiped. I made a post on here.....some said keep up with milk, some said no...so i dont some researching and got the same info
Off to the chemist to buy gastrolyte today....hopefully it will help and it will be gone asap. No idea where or who she got it from. We are ok...but she has copped a dose of it.
For the moment good old sposies are doing the trick....i was going to start on the cloths..but til its gone im holding off!!
-
kim lather her bum in cream as a barrier!!! poor bubba
-
Kim - poor little chelsea. hugs to you both. I hope she is ok soon. its not a rotor virus is? or did she have the rotor vaccine?? Thinking of you..
-
Time for a new thread everyone
