Well done Kim! I think preparing ahead of time for breastfeeding is fantastic. I've tried and wanted to join but I wanted to go to meetings & our area's group is just not friendly. I've tried to go to meetings & they've changed the time & place and when I rang to see where they were she said "oh... I didn't think to put a sign up did I? ah well... if you still want to come its xxx xxx." but I coudln't make it that time so when I phoned ahead the next time & no one showed up again! I gave up...

I was thinking of joining the ABA group in the next suburb but it meets at a bad time for us, when I'm working, I still want to go!!

Went to the Early Childhood Centre no new news. Keep monitoring her weight (yeah...) Going to see a physio about Ella's lack of movement to learn how I can motivate her to move....dunno its worth a try.

We went to the pool today and she LOVED it laughing and smiling as we splashed around. Before getting into the pool i changed ella's nappy discovering a recently deposited poo. When i turned to look for the wipes she grabbed the nappy and FLUNG the poo out onto next to her. She then reached out and grabbed it!!! I was yelling and trying to hold her arms as i was wiping her bum. Cheeky thing!

oh Luua, you poor thing! sounds funny but i guess you would have been horrified poolside!

Kimbaz and Blanchie - i joined a local ABA group last year whilst pregnant. I found it useful to go along to the meetings, listen in, ask questions and get my head around the whole idea. Then closer to the event, i went to a 3 hour course with my partner. It makes such a difference getting your partner involved. Then when you are under the weather, doubting yourself, or having a hard time, your partner can be supportive, cos they are informed then. Without the support of my dh, i doubt i would still be bf-ing. It has been a challenge all the way, and i felt like giving up many times. I'm so glad we are still able to do it, but i sure don't take it for granted, it has been a concerted effort the whole time. So if you can do it, terrific, if you can't, well it's not an easy thing to do. All you can do is try, and do your best to get good info and good advice. It's so easy to get bad advice at crucial times (like just after labour) and give up. Important to build your networks LONG before you need them, so if you get crap advice, you have somewhere else to ring and ask for help. There are some great lactation consultants on belly belly too, i've asked for help online and gotten it here.

Bilby has bitten me FOUR times in three days. I remove her straight away and say No Biting, that hurts me, and put in in the porta cot. Feel awful for stopping her drink, but am doing what i have been advised to do. SHe only has two little bottom row fangs, not even fully up, but gawd they hurt!!! i really thought i was safe until the top ones come down! but no!

Tonight i was feeding her in a Westfield shopping town food court, and a group of about eight teenage boys were guffawing at me feeding her, she kept pushing up my top to access, and i kept trying to push it down, and whilst i was feeling quite embarrassed by this group of young men, i managed to get pickpocketed of my purse! Didn't realise until 30mins later when i went to pay for groceries in woollies. I was so distracted by bilbs mucking about and those silly boys, wasn't paying attention to my bag and purse.

Later at home, i rang the police to file a report, and while talking to the lovely cop, bilbs got hungry again, so there i am trying to answer the questions and then she bites me really reall hard, so i SCREAM at the top of my lungs, dh comes running and poor cop on the other end of the phone, doesn't know what is going on !!!

Christy, the ABA group i joined is full of affluent career women, most meetings were about expressing milk. They were lovely people, just moved in very different circles from me, i felt out of my depth. Their houses were like mansions to me. There living areas were the size of our entire unit!!! I realised that group was not really my scene cause i don't have a profession or use a breast pump. i am looking for another group that has some SAHM's in it and a wider range of topics (especially how to deal with the biting!!!). BUt i think it's like playgroups, you keep trying them out, until you find a mix of people that suits you better, so it hasn't put me off, i'll find a more suitable group for me, is all.

Yeah I guess so Gigi... it just means I have to get off my behind & go LOL. I'm good at meeting up with people I know...but for some reason meeting up with strangers is scary.

Ann I hope you get some answers. Its pretty frustrating. Matilda lost weight between 6 months - 1 year and I was told it was because she was so active. Now we've found out differently but its hard when you don't know what the reason is beforehand. Our close friends baby lost weight & it was a good thing.... once he started crawling. Its hard because its taken us 2 years to get any answers and I went looking when she hit 12 months and only weight 8.5kg. Jovie weighs well above that now... scary.

Us... well I'm exhausted but happy. Good day today, rainy but we had friends over to play....

That really sucks, Gigi. I've found lately that all i seem to ask is 'What's wrong with people?'. you really have to wonder

Gigi - Ella went through a biting thing too. You're doing the right thing. You have to stop so they get that biting will stop feeding. Ella saw biting was a game. She'd bite and i'd pull her off me and she's giggle. Cheeky thing.

Tara- She was so suprised to see the poo fly out. Funny girl. How has Evie been?

Blanche - how funny chasing a dirty pooy bum crawling away.

Going back to the pool on Sunday. Meeting up with the other bubs from mother's group - can't wait should be fun.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
