OMG Kim Emelia did the same thing today leigh left the baby bag on the floor in the lounge room and when i went in there, there she is sitting with 20 cents in her mouth and all his cards scattered everywhere..!!and shes a paper eater too !!
Ann- how scary, im sure u will see a nice shiney thing soon in her nappy !!!
Emelias birthday is easy cos we are having a bbq, so will be meat and salad...and before that when everyone arrives it will be just like chips and dip, fruit and lollies oh and fairy bread of course!

Jols sounds like you had a fantastic day!!! WOOT!!! I love birthday parties... next year Jovie's getting a big one ;)
-
party day today - very tired great day but very busy with a teething boy - a party with about 50 of our friends and family and we all had a ball
Gigi we are still BF morning and sometimes night but he is starting to drop that one
Ann I hear what you mean about the house looking like a toy shop!
*phew*
another glass of wine, feet up and anopther piece of that yummy cake please
-
Now ella has a fever - 38.1 degrees. Hope its not from the button or the glue from the button. All the Bindeez news has scared me a bit. Its probably more likely she caught something from the kids yesterday.
Kim - we had the same stuff as Jols. I also got juice (the 100% stuff) and in 500mls i added gelatin and then put diced fruit on just before serving - was a hit. We make all of Ella's Jelly so we had lots of gelatin left. I also had sausage rolls and frankfurts and lots of pasta salad. Try not to cook - i wanted to make muffins but just didnt have time.
I just got ella's toys and piled it in the middle of the floor, moved the furniture back and let them all go crazy and they did!
Nelly - You sound like me and Jols yesterday.. LOL gald you had fun.
Christy - sounds like Melbourne was good. You had great weather down there!
Anyway little Miss is asleep. She was so tired. I put her down after dosing her with nurofen and she rolled over to sleep. Will check on her later to see if the temp drops.
Ann

Aw Tara hope u get better soon.
-
*hugs* Tara its going around, truely it is.
Nelly & Jols sounds so much fun! I felt so bad about not organising a party for Jovie, so on the Wed before I baked some cupcakes that she can eat & iced them & bought a few candles & went to a friends house with some balloons and had a mini party for her. I had to do something.... we get together every Wed 3 mums & 5 toddler/babies and either work on projects like MCN's or knitting or I usually just blob around & make food for everyone.
-
Evies got a green nose today and when she sleeps she makes little wheezy noises that are just too cute, but so sad :(

I have a headache :( migrane style... so yuck. Matilda stayed home today with a cold so I couldn't go to work, but I did drop Jovie off at FDC anyway. I have to go to work in a little while because if I don't work the nurses don't get paid at the vet. I usually go to the shops after work but didn't go today with Matilda so will have to do that as well.
-
have decided to make edible xmas presents for everyone and have just finished making my trial cherry chutney... smells good
-
We're at home sick :(
Ella still has a fever. My MIL came this morning and we gave her some panadol which did nothing. Went down well for her nap and ok up crying. She was having her lunch and just vomited everywhere... MIL called me and i came racing home and we went to the GP. He said she has a "virus" - dont know what that means but i know she's miserable.
Poor sausage.
Ann
-
oh yummy lasange!! so hot here its alright inside, i was going to go to the shops but changed my mind..will go first thing tomorrow morning! all Emelia wants to do is go outside and play in her pool!!

Oh Blanche...20 years in Perth, i know that heat all too well, it's a *****.
feeling a bit better i think. Last week I had a packet of 2 minute noodles and found a piece of glass just as it was going down my throat and realised today that that was when my sore throat/infection started (duh!) so i rang maggi and am off to the dr tomorrow :( i dont want to waste my time and money with this crap!
not much more news here...i've been teaching evie to clap her feet together which is always a giggle, shes started saying nononono and growls at the dog.
anyways off to have dinner
hope all are well... :)

:hiding:
hi there girlie girls... I'm here, just hiding... I loved reading about your party plans, and look forward to seeing photos when I have some time to look and enjoy.
aston is so increidlby busy at the moment. he goes goes goes all day...now I have found my feet I am going to run run run...lol and wave my arms around and giggle and sing and jump!
I'm exhausted! lots of fun though, and I have been planning in the background for his birthday. as always the best laid plans have gone awry and we have had to make a few changes, but in the end Aston gets two partys...no make that three! one with some friends on the Saturday before, one on his actual birthday in the afternoon with his Uncle and his extended family - and then one on the Monday with the mums and bubs! I reckon by the time the 3rd candle goes up on a cake he will be blowing the candle out!! lol
only one of them will be at our house, the others in the park by Noosa river, one of my other favorite places to go.
finding everything a little hard to deal with in the way of plans at the moment - just living day to day. Having major relationship issues with DH, (and don't read "darling husband" there - insert d!ckhead husband instead!)and having to do a lot of soul searching about where to from here....
anyway enough of my drivel...
I'm glad your having fun celebrating the last year, reading your posts of made my heart smile, and that has been much needed. thankyou....Its been huge year, and amazing and funny and wonderful journey so far... and its been equalling as wonderful to get to know all of you too...because as we are celebrate these beautiful babes 1st year, we also celebrate knowing each other for a year - even in cyber space! so hugs to you all... and kisses for the babes. xxxx
-

Vicky *hugs* alot of planning, hope you have a wonderful time with Aston's birthday. I'm so sorry to hear of problems with your H.
Blanche I hope you keep cool today! Sounds like it was a scorcher overnight there.
Us.... going okay. Matilda's sick so we are homebound & its really hard. I have heaps of shopping to do because DH didn't do anything over the weekend & I have a cleaner coming tomorrow so I have to do a huge preclean later today (you know the picking everything up so they can actually clean the house...). Jovie got 2 molars on the weekend (would explain her unsettledness for an hour Sat night). Upper molars. She was a dream otherwise. I am tired and finding it hard to slot back into everything because I missed some of my herbs on the weekend I didn't want to carry them around....should have though. hmmm.... anything else for us? Not that I can think of lol.
-

sophies been asleep for almost 2 hours!!!
-
YAY Jols!!!
:( Jovie's not had a sleep today. I'm so tired, got Matilda to sleep & now Jovie won't have a bar of it :( Urgh
-
well she slept for the 2 hours but woke with a temp and grizzles :( putting it down to immunisation reaction to MMR
now come on miss jovie its nap time
-
Just got her to sleep... :( Now Matilda's up & is sick so there isn't much I can do but cuddle my sick toddler. Ah well.... another day written off.
-
That was our night last night Christy (except without 2 kids) but i said to DH 'well tonight's a write off' and he was like 'i'm soooo sick of write off nights!!!' i didnt actually get into bed until 330!!
-
hmmm, write off nights, we have ALOT of those!!!
all day without the car tomorrow, i just can't face waiting there for two hours while service is done, so am choosing to get DH to bring us home in his car, so i don't have to do two hours of grabbing bilbs from crawling into where she shouldn't (at the mechanics). Plus knowing my luck, she would start screaming and then the poor receptionist wouldn't be able to hear the customers. Just can't take a chance, the way bilby has been lately. Very clingy and screamy (teeth).
We're getting so many compliments, when out, about bilby's MCN, but no-one EVERY guesses them to be nappies! they all say, "groovy pantaloons/bloomers/pants/daks/shorts" etc, but never "what a groovy nappy" ha ha. I enjoy the shocked faces when i tell them they've been admiring a nappy. The CYH nurse was especially interested.
Took bilby to a funeral interment today, she was actually quiet for the important bit, only screamed when i started pushing the stroller away from the marquee afterwards, for which i was very grateful. The five grandkids of the guy who died, all released hot pink balloons - the guy loved pink roses. There were his golfballs and a cricket ball on the coffin. it was such a celebration of his life, lovely guy. Such a close family, i went to support his widow (my friend) but gee, going to a funeral really makes you appreciate your loved ones even more.
2.12am gotta go fall into bed now. bilby has been up about four times tonight already!!! and she didn't go down until 10pm anyways. :rolls eyes:
two days til she turns one, haven't bought present, organised cake, no party, nothing. It's so hot i don't even want to leave the unit. On MOnday i took her to playgroup, on a 28 degree day, the car was 47 degrees by the digital thermometer!!!! her birthday will be over 30 and the day after (Saturday) will be 36. that was the day i was thinking of having a play date, but now, i can't do it to the babies on a 36 degree day. ANd the stress of transporting all the stuff and keeping food/drink edible and cold, i've decided to not put myself thru that stress. Knowing i would have to do it all by myself, it's just too much.
Wow, in three hours time, that's when my labour started this time last year!!!
what a rollercoaster this year has been.
-
gigi - reflection time eh... it has been a year hasn't it? an amazing, wonderful, tearful, hard year... i think becoming a mother is so much more then the birth process - when you birth that little babe you birth something within you that grows as well, don't forget to look at that and rejoice in how far you have come, and what an amazing little person you are helping to grow and flourish on their journey.
life is so complicated sometimes - and I think we - myself especially! - sometimes get so bogged down in the now, that we forget to see how far we have come, as people as mothers as women... I heard the best quote ever yesterday "we are not human beings having a spiritual experience - but spiritual beings having a human experience" ... anyway my message I guess is to not forget to celebrate ourselves in amongst these "firsts"...
enough of me waxing philosophically...
aston has had two really good nights in a row!! YAYY!!!! thank god after a month of horrors. I have had 2 nights where I have had 6 consecutive hours in a row...i'll get to that 8 hour mark soon I just know it! and then maybe, just maybe I might start to feel like a human being - instead of the zombie I have been!
so Tara _ i hear you on the nights of horrors. hang in there girl... hopefully the wheel will turn and you will head towards longer sleeps for everyone soon!!! hugs
you too Christy. I hope Matilda is feeling better soon hun, aston had a month of sickness in various forms. It is soooooo nice to finally have my boy back!! the running one now! I like to RUN everywhere! lol keeping me fit I tell you!
hi Jols, Nelly, Ann - have you all recovered from the birthday parties yet?
Blanche and Kim - I really must start thinking about what cake to make, and for which party??? because I am only making one fancy one. the rest will be stock standard chocolate cake with yummy bits on it lol Think I will be making a teddy bear - just like Laura and Nathan's first birthday cakes... then next year Aston can tell me what kind of cake he would like. I have made barbie cakes, butterfly, big L cake with flowers, caterpillar cakes, train cakes, soccer ball cakes, even a jewellery box! lol dolphin cakes (looked a bit like a while eeek! lol) Now that Laura is big...she has moved onto move sophiscated tastes like chocolate mud cake mum, with chocolate covered strawberries!! lol
i hope everyone has a good day...me- aston asleep at the moment (woke at 5, so wanted to go back to bed at 8! and I think I may go back to bed for half and hour) then I am supposed to go to a friends - and will make myself go, even though dossing about in my pjs for most of the day is a more attractive option! I usually paint on Wednesday- but feel like I need a day off from seeing the friend I paint with, if that makes sense. She has been very supportive during this yuk time that is happening at the moment, so we have seen an alot of each other. She was very gracious about it and understood completely and is going to use the opportunity to go shopping by herself and enjoy some "me" time of her own. god - "me" time is precious I tell you!!
