Happy Birthday Evie and Chelsea!
Well we have had a grand weekend with Aston's party on Saturday and we end up staying up the coast Fri and Sat nights so was really noice. Am peeved we had to leave early to come home so DH could play cricket but we still had a lovely time while we were there.
Back to big bed routine for Jake tonight and although it is a bit of a battle I am glad that our battle are just those niggly things like waking up to get into bed with us, fuss eating and the cold he currently has - I feel for you Christy! Jake gets a bit fussy and the world is suddenly crashing down so it helpd to be reminded that there are families REALLY struggling out there with REAL behavior issues not just 2 yo antics and tanties. My heart goes out to you hun xxxx
Christmas and birthday time has been and will be a bit tight around here too - we have decided just not going crazy with presents. Jake is only 2 and won't realise if he gets 2 gifts or 2 hundred and we have a few bits and pieces that we have picked up over the year. Am looking forward to some family time too, and time without cricket lol, and I actually still have some of the 1st birthday pressies Jake was given sitting at the top of the cupboard so am recycling those this year lol. It will be nice not worrying about if I have bought enough gifts for once - we have decided to just have a noice lunch, maybe with friends and fam maybe just us, and to relax and enjoy eachother. A few day trips to the beach maybe - just nothing too rushy planned or stressful.
How is everyone else planning to spend xmas?
kim we've probably spent a little over $100 for sophie for christmas, she's getting quiet a few things but there not expensive and some are second hand!!
nelly sounds like you had a lovely few days!!! how did astons party go?
christmas this year is in melbourne with my family , we alternate going to albury, just lunch as sophie wont have had a day sleep so will be feral by dinner time.
ive made the pudding already and will also make the custard from stratch
kim rebound congestion is from using nasal spray, you can get if after 1-2 days of use! makes you very very blocked up, my nose is completly closed!!
gosh Jols and Christy - judging by your avs you two will be having quite a saucy xmas ;)
Aston's party was great - the kids all played was nice to catch up with some of V's friend and fam I have met before and I think it was a nice bit of stress relief - if only for a few hours. He is such a funy little man - into everything and chatting away. He had a ball - as you should for your 2nd birthday!
very saucy indeed!!
gald the party went well!!
soooooo nelly is it confirmed your having a girl?
Happy Belated Birthday too Chelsea and Aston!!!!!
Happy Birthday Evie!!!!!
had such a busy day yesterday, Emelia's party then Leigh's 21st and his mums 50th last night all at our house so was very very busy!!! but all went well and they all ended up very spoilt. Leighs Birthday today but hes in bed still with a hangover lol
better go clean the house!!!
love the new xmas avatars too!!
hi everyone. sorry I have been so remiss in birthday wishes... so belated happy birthdays to Xander, Zander, Chelsea and Evie. I hope that they all had a great day, and that the mummies did too. Aston's birthday party was good - I know that he had a wonderful time. Me - I drank a few glasses of bubbles to get me through! The day didn't particularly start off well due to the antics of my sister - but I pushed it aside, and didnt let her ruin YET another important day in my life. I was so tired last night that I was in bed by 8pm, and sleep until 5am - first time in ages that I have had nine consectutive hours in a row of sleep. so I felt pretty good this morning.
Nelly glad that you had a nice time at the hotel. Hopefully sometime soon you and I may actually be able to spend sometime together on a monday whiel the boys are at daycare. how novel would that be??!!!
The girls wont be getting much for Christmas here. A trampoline, some play doh, clothes, some blocks and im trying to find them a smallish pool. Christmas will be much the same as last year...very quite, no family. Our friends have asked us over to spend it with them (Chelsea's god daddy) and his partner, so we'll probably go there. Maybe luck will be on my side and i'll go into labour!!!
then you will have a child born in the eleventh month, tenth month, and twelveth month Kim.
We are having a quiet christmas too. just me dh and the kids.
We have a huge deal for Christmas, we are a bit over consumerism so a few years ago we put a budget on our Christmas spendings....
$60 for each person in the family and then 1 large present for the whole family. Last year it worked really well & our big present was the trampoline. The year before it was a cubby house... now I know that seems like its for the girls, but its also for parental sanity... so its for the whole family anyway
This year we got a few vouchers for Myer given to us... and we are getting a... Wii!!! More for us than for them ;) but in time they will use it too.
$60 seems hard to keep too, but its good having a budget like that. We got the girls some retro dolls from ebay, 1970's dolls called Crissy dolls. I made some extra clothes for the dolls for the girls stockings. In their stockings they will also get some texta's, stickers, and colouring book. There was something else I've already bought them... but I can't remember atm.
But not much! Our parents have each bought them something, so there isn't a lack of pressie ;) We are going to wrap each controller for the Wii separately, one for each of us and that will make it seem like more.
I know V... Oct Nov Dec AND 06 07 08 baby :p
DH and i have bought ourselves a new camera so nothing for us, we do KK with both families so $75 for mine and $50 for his so its not too bad!
we are putting a budget on the gifts too - makes it easier to not get swept up in the "not bought enough gifts" panic. We are also lucky this year that we are getting a stack of house stuff and a couple of toys ,eg a mini tramp and I got a red kitchen aid mixer, kettle, toaster..., from a "showcase" tupperware had this year. Basically like flybuys - the more you did the more points you got and we got quite a few points.
V maybe next week.... I know this week am at meeting that I forgot about oops
Nah Jols not confirmed DH is just calling this one Molly... the one before Jake was Monty and Jake was Charlie lol ... I think it might be a girl but would prefer a boy only becuase I know what to do with their bits - girls have too many crevices!!!! Either way I would be happy tho!
hehe nelly  im not sure what to do with boy bits either!!
easy you just hold their little penis up and a few quick wipes all is good... girls scare me not sure where to wipe, how far do you search the crevices for poo, remember front to back ... all too daunting!
Make it sound so easy Nelly!
when girls are older the poo doesnt really get into the crevices, just wipe the slit! ohh that sounds bad
rofl cracks me up!
its funny nelly - because I felt that way when I nathan - what the heck do I do with that??? then again the whole cleaning thing with laura made me feel rather uncomfortable too... when she was a small babe her minor labia started to fuse together, and i had to seperate it with a cotton bub every time I changed her nappy. It was horrible. I hated it. apparently its rare, but thankfully my gp had experienced it with her own daughter. i'm shuddering just remembering it ...
god I shouldn't tell you horror stories like that should i?? sorry.
...or they hold the bits open for you and you cant miss the poo cos its open wide and on display LOL
Hmm boys are starting to sound so much easier afterall.
Chelsea wont stay in bed tonight....keeps coming out to say night....damn the door handles being so low and easy to open
v sophie had fused labia a well! used cortisone cream for a week or so and its fine!!
kim get the knob covers from bunnings, they cant open the doors then!
Knob covers..tell me more!!!! Ive not seen or heard of them
wow jols really?? my doctor didn't prescribe cortisone cream - just told me to do what I did.
Matilda had a fused labia as well! They told me to just keep an eye on it & it would eventually work itself out... it did a month later. Its strange that there are so many different ways of treating it depending on the doctor.
Hmm Chelsea never had a fused labia....doesnt sound nice TBH.
kim there covers that go over the knob, which are bigger than the knob so when the go to turn the knob they turn the cover only, adults squeese the knob to open the door, make sense?
we got a 3 pk from bunnings in the kids safety isle for a few dollars and we have one onthe toilet, bathroom and our room, brand is dreambaby
You are a legend Jols....off to buy them today!
I have to say this...i will have my little man NEXT MONTH...or maybe THIS MONTH!!!
OMG....its getting close :D
best invention kim!!
i was thinking the same thing about you this morning!
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! that's me screaming  Have to do it somewhere. trying to stay in control here at home - so I need to scream somwwhere
scream away v
Oh V, whats the matter?!?!
Sorry I missed Birthdays!!!! Thats them over for the year! Hope everyone had good ones!!
I was SICK for evie's birthday!!! had a tummy bug :( oh so much planning and cooking! nevermind, am better today!
we made her a peppa pig cake and when she saw it for the first time at her party she goes 'WOW!!!' then when we all started singing she ran away - she got frightened!! LOL
better go, back later, there is a poo-ey bum in this room and it aint me! whew!!!
Scream all you like V!
Glad your better today Tara :)
Jols its come around very quickly....still cant believe how close i am...the end is in sight!!
isn't it funny that when you ttc you forget all about the niggly things when pg - the funny twinges, the ms and the INSOMNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky I have lots of paperwork to do....
Nelly, I'd be more than happy to give you a hand with data entry or paperwork if I can...
it's sooooooooooooooo hot here! it starts heating up seriously at 6am!! it's only just summer!!!!
Tara will pm you
Hi Girls
V and I decided to txt Ann yesterday to see if she was ok. Unfortunately all hasn't been great and she has been hospitalised with early contractions. She has just got home and is strict bed rest but at this stage mum and bubs are all fine. She said hi to all and she will log in and catch up once she has resettled at home.
I sent her lots of hugs love and best wishes from all of us.
Oh i hope bubbys stay put Ann...thinking of you babe!
Thanks Nelly & V!!!
Ann  rest up hun.
Here... I'm crook now, not too bad, but crook enough. Yesterday was a crap day at work and I'm beating myself up for stupid things. I think I have bitten off more than I can chew with this job. Its just so above my level that I feel so unable to do anything right. I mean these are the best nurses in Australia and I've been out of the technical side of nursing for the past... 5 years! I've only done admin and behaviour work and basic information.... crazy stuff. What am I doing?? I don't have the brain space for this job right now. But if I was a career woman, this would be the best job in the world for me.
So as you can see, I'm a bit torn up about this all...
Hi everyone
Back in the land of the living now. I'm fine and importantly the twins are fine. Feeling tired though and have been up and down emotionally.
thanks for the text Nelly - it was great to hear from you.
I'll come back online later once i rest up a bit more...
Ann
