My kids are the same when it comes to daycare. They are sooooo well behaved when they are there but as soon as we get home its like a nut house.
I think it has alot to do with them having a big day and being tired but I also believe that kids are well- behaved for other ppl and when we get home all their craziness bursts out! If you know what I mean lol

Ahhh the hosue is quite...well of kids anyhow!

MIL called tonight....she dropped a bombshell that im pretty annoyed about...but not much i can do about it. You might all remember me saying the girls were off to her house for a week in December?? Well that no long stands. FIL now works in Laos (sp?) so he is away for 21 days then home for 18 days. Anyhow, she is really been missing him so has decided she wants to spend time with him when he returns home...and wont be taking the girls :(:(

Instead she is paying for tickets to see Wicked the Musical (wow..we were going to see it anyhow when the girls were away). They are both still coming down for 4 days (4th-8th) but will be leaving here kid free. Craig and i had plans to spend some alone time before BumbleBee came...and now its not happening.

Sorry had to vent somewhere.....this day cant get any worse surely????????

Zander and Wyatt both went to sleep straight away tonight..Wyatt goes to bed between 6-7pm like clockwork and sleeps through till at least 4am and Zander wants to stay up and hang out with us or wants to be noisy playing with toys..we try to say that if he doesnt want to be in bed then its quiet time..which he ignores usually..so we end up putting him in bed.

Tonight both boys asleep by 7pm!!

V..no worries about calling me Nicole..Im known mostly as Niki by family but for some reason prefer Nicola when its written?? odd.

Kim, can you go somewhere with DH between the 4th and 8th for some couple time???

Well thats what we are now thinking Nicola....we have the wicked tickets, so might spend the night in the city as well...its not the same but i guess we are lucky to be able to get a night away from the girls as it is. We have no family in VIC (they are all in NSW) and no friends id leave them with overngiht etc.

oh wow and I just thought my brain was playing pregnancy games with me - there are TWO Xander / Zanders lol. phew hi to both of you!

Blanche your boy is a cutie - I am so glad I ahve all of your girls who have forged the way first to have another child so when I turn to a blubbering mess of jelly you know EXACTLY where I am at!

Kim it's a shame that you and DH aren't going to have any length of time without the kids - I guess at least make the most of your "date" at least that is quality with just you guys. And it's good the girls are still going to have some time with their grandparents - it's one thing I wish Jake could have more of and really leaves a gap in our lives. Man how does your mil cope with her partner being away for sooo long! I would go insane and then lock him up away from everyone when he got home just to make up for it! lol I am a bit crazy sometimes tho!

Christy how are the house settling things going? It's strange I really don't think of you in Sydney I still think you are just don the road.

Jols I think I need you and Vicky's calmness for my child - his bed is not somewhere he is enjoying! V I have the reward chart and we have special "stickers" (magnets for the fridge) that he gets one of each night he spends in his bed. tonight we are struggling just to get him to go to sleep in it and usially that isn't too much of a battle.....

So does that mean, that most people, by time their child is two or around about, have spent a night (or more) away from their child? I have not done this. We have no couple time. I have gone out twice i think, for a few hours at night with a girlfriend, with my auntie, oh yes, and once to a blessingway. but not overnight or away. Maybe this is bad that i/we havne't done it. but i have no idea what i would do with bilby.

Vicky - our funny stories for the day

• bilby will select a nappy cover out of the trays near the change table and wear it on her head like a teacosy!
• lots of incidents of her trying to imitate the WIggles or telly tubbies dancing on dvd, she is called "dancing queen" at CCC
• she has been going around on one foot on tiptoe (gymbaroo lady tells me that the pre-cursor to JUMPING. Today she has been standing, hanging on to a cupboard or wall with one hand and sticking ONE leg out, balancing on one leg. so proud of herself!
• and last Tuesday, she blew her very first bubble. we've been practising blowing bubbles alot!
• she often giggles at me, tickles my stomach, or plays peek a boo with my top, while she's bf-ing.
• her favourite animal is MONKEY right now, cos in the book NO KISSES FOR DADDY, the main character, Baby Bear, on EVERY page, he has a toy monkey that he carts around everywhere. So now each time she sees a monkey, she goes OOOOO OOOO AHHH AHHHH. can't say monkey, but knows the sounds!
• she sits down and sorts liners, or boosters. Lies them on top of each other slowly and very purposefully, pats each one before picking up next one. after completing a pile, she starts again. :shakes head:

i recently got a bill from the family assistance office for OVER TEN GRAND - due to dh NOT lodging last two year's tax returns. the bill is in MY name. so i have been pretty devestated, as i have nothing to sell that would pay that bill. DH thinks i'm over-reacting. I can't believe he would do something that low to me. and now it's done, he doesn't even see it as something VALID for me to be upset about (lots of crying, when he's not around), or something that is worthy of an apology. So lots of Single Mummy thoughts right about now. I am far from perfect, but i have never done antyhign to put another human being in debt, let alone for such an enormous sum. i feel incredibly disrespected. STD. Sexually transmitted debt.

and rightly so Gigi - to feel disrespected. Have you spoken to Centrelink about paying it off at a rate you can afford? We haven't left aston overnight yet - so don't feel like you are doing anything wrong. Opportunity would be the main reason - not having one. Its difficult when you don't have family near, and I am reluctant to ask anyone else to have to possibly get up in the night to deal with my 2 year old (yes Nelly I know you would do it in a heart beat...) But in reality I don't think I'm ready to leave him over night yet. It took me a while to feel comfortable to be able to leave Laura and Nathan overnight as well. Its something you have to feel ok about.

thanks for the stories about bilby. Aston's favourite tv show at the moment is Scooby doo. lol. He dances around to the music when it starts. and he is singing :D its very very cute. the only trouble is if they have been singing a song at day care and he wants me to sing it, sometimes it takes a while for me to figure out which one he wants! He loves to do superman with me, where I place him on my feet and hold him in the air. when he gets into the air he goes "da daaaaah" and holds his arms out lol.

If i had to list things my girls done id be here all day...they are both crack ups.... :)
Geez i took a pic of myself lastnight....nooot good...man i feel so yuck now.

Chelsea is up to no good today....Jasmine is bashing the fish tank with spoons....and i feel like crawling back into bed :(

Gigi - your little bilby sounds so gorgeous. Matilda loves to wear her pull up on her head :rolleyes: at night before bed she plays a game with it.

Jovie's favourite things to do are:
* twirl as soon as she hears music
* do "round and round the garden, like a teddy bear!" over and over to me and me to her
* pour water... on the ground, in the bath, in the kitchen,.... for hours upon end. I put a baby bath on the verandah and have a few litres of warm water. I put a few plastic cups and some funnels and some stuff like that and let her go. Sometimes I go wild and add a drop of food colouring or some bath soap for bubbles... crazy stuff I tell ya.
* play chasing.... round and around the dining room table.

I'm having a very hard week with Matilda. She's not coping with change very well... and her sensory stuff is extremely bad. She's screaming for 6-8 hours a day, and has bouts of aggression where she kicks, bites and scratches anyone close to her (generally me... maybe Jovie or DH). I've spent plenty of time crying over it... and 2 hours today trying to get some assistence as school doesn't start until late January and I have no care until then.

I'm tired

Huge :hug: Christy. I tried to send you a pm to do just that but belly belly crashed in the middle of it. I read the thread you started about ASD - just to see how you going. Its wonderful that you have the support of people who are experiencing similar things. I will send a prayer up to the universe that some REAL LIFE support arrives soon for you, in whatever form that is going to be the most helpful hun.

Thanks for sharing Jovie's exploits. This age, while trying, is as equaly delightful. Sometimes I think we can get bogged down in the bad bits, and not celebrate the good bits enough. Because Aston is my third, I sometimes feel sad that I wasn't this relaxed with Laura. - and nathan for that matter. But I guess its all part of the journey. When I say relaxed I don't mean he can do whatever he wants, I mean that I don't get distressed or upset as I used to get when Laura and Nathan were little. And as a consequence of that, the "tanties" dissolved a whole lot quicker. Well at least I have learnt one thing in this parent gig! :D

Very cute to think of Aston doing his Superman impression! HIS version of flying!

Christy - i set up waterplay for bilby's birthday party (on my auntie's patio deck) but never do it other times, you might just have inspired me to do it - hard to think WHERE to do it here, no shade outside, no verandah, maybe we'll do it in the bath, only place i can think of.

Gigi, I do it in the mornings or arvo on hot days. Its been freezing here! So Its going during the middle of the day... in the sun. I just lather them up with sunscreen and hats etc...

Because we don't have the definative diagnosis of ASD, we can't get services. I spoke with the paediatrician last night who said his first available in March and I said... Not Good Enough. I told him Matilda was screaming for 6-8 hours a day for the last 5 days and I wasn't going to cope without some support NOW. So our appointment is December 8th, I've also got some respite (a once off) from a community group so I can do the shopping next week. And an appointment with an OT to start that ball rolling.

Christy that is great that your appt has been moved to december. would be better obviously if it was tomorrow, but better then nothing. glad that you have gotten some community help as well. i wish I could give you a big hug in person. when things are getting all too much, and you just need a distraction from the noise, text me, and I will call you ok? :hug:

Well we put the foot down last night and kept putting Jake back in his bed - I think I had about 6 hours broken sleep in hour and a half blocks but hopefully tonight will get better....

Gigi the fish are all ok....the pets in this house have to be tough with my 2 kiddies! I think im just really run down and thats why im getting sick. Alot goign on around here, Chelsea and her antics as i said in the email to you...its getting worse. I love 8pm cos it means i can put her in bed and i dont hear a beep til 830 the next day....LOL

HI ALL!! IS QUIET IN HERE THAT'S WHY I AM SHOUTING!!!!!! LOL

Busy day today we ended up going to a play centre in Lawnton which was awesome! They had the hugest loop slide like you used to see a local fairs and Jake and I sent on it lots and lots!.... prob not the best thing to do at 16wks pg but we had fun!

Lots of driving lots of being in the car - he had reached his limit this afternoon when he woke up surrounded by Tupperware boxes in the back seat of the car. screamed most of the hour long drive home so I wound down the window and he sat like a doggy in a car lol.

hope all are getting by one step at a time... we are preparing for another night of crying sessions....

bilby really enjoyed Gymbaroo today, only two little babies there, so tiny class of three, so bilby was the oldest and acted the most confident i've seen her. She's using the clapping sticks in time to the music, can copy what the teacher does or says to do and will happily crawl thru the big floor tube now. She's very different there, when the older more boisterous kids are not there.

we got home, to find the 2009 ANN (Aust Nappy Network) calendar in the postbox, i opened it and there for February is BILBY'S PHOTO!!! i didn't realise our photo got picked, so it was a REAL surprise! my girl is in a calendar :dance: i'm so proud of her!

Christy - good on you for pressing for help, understatement that you need it. that's so full on, THAT much crying every day. The squeaky wheel gets the oil, lucky you are good at squeaking. i would be stocking up on non-perishables bigtime, in case you are unable to access more respite for a while. i suppose if you get desperate, there is online supermarket shopping? but i would rather do it in person, just for the change of scenery thang. Cabin fever ain't good. especially when accompanied by much crying.

Nelly - good luck with Jake's bed transitioning - is it from your bed, or his cot?

Kim - hugs to you with Chels and her button pushing stuff, so easy to get run down when you're busy looking after everyone else, i often get to 3pm and realise i haven't eaten or drunk anything all day, wondering why i'm feeling dizzy and a bit "under".

mmmm... the thing is over the last 4 years I have been known to say "its okay, I will cope" over and over and now I'm saying "I'm not sure how long I will cope" and that is what is helping. To me they are almost the same thing... I will cope, just not sure how long it will be before I lose some of the mental stability I gained this year.

wow gigi! you have a page 2 girl! lol Congratulations - had you submitted pics or were they just randoms? Isn't it great when you see the kids interacting really well - I don't know about you but I secretly breathe a sigh of relief and think - whew it's ok he's normal! :redface:

We are theoretically transitioning from cot but the reality is he has been in with us since before we went to Hong Kong when he was really sick and never went back into his own cot fully. I really enjoyed that warm little body snuggled up to me! But it also meant my husband was kicked out of the bed into the spare room and I really want the sanctity of my space and cuddle time with him back. Realistically we really don't have a sex life atm lol so it definitely isn't for that!!! hahahaha So in answer Gigi it is really from our bed. He was going to bed in his bed but coming into us from 11pm and staying put for the duration.

Last night was just the one wake up - once we get past the waking up we'll work on him going to sleep without one of us sitting in his room or next to him. The problem is when DH does the putting to bed routine he ends up going to sleep with jake reading so kind of defeats the purpose lol. :wall:

WE ARE GOING TO A PARTY TOMORROW!! WOOHOOOOOO!!!!! Breathe V we'll be there to help relieve some pressure xxx

I have a very sick Jasmine and a very horrid Chelsea....i have a cold coming on,feel like ive been hit by a bus and a very tired husband. Together we are a very cranky bunch.

I hope everyone's feeling better soon. It's that time of year again! everything starts piling up and we're all stressed out trying to get things done.
I watched an episode of Oprah yesterday about a woman who totally forgot about her 2yo asleep in the back of the car, forgot to drop her off at the babysitters and went to work. Of course, the child died in the hot car after being left for 8 hours. so so tragic. but it went on with so many mother who forget things or nearly forget etc etc and how every single mother feels so overwhelmed all the time to get things done and be perfect. we cant and we need to be kinder to ourselves. where do we get these ideas from? why cant we just do our best and be happy with that?

So girls.... life stinks heh? Where are we going to go from here? It can only get better... the positives of Christmas are partners having sometime off work! YAY! I'm working 50 hours between Christmas and New YEars but that is a good thing for me to get away & have some focus on my career. He is taking the 2 days off before Christmas so I can do some final running around and spending time together, than we have Christmas off and then... I work for 5 days straight. Then we have 3 days off together before he goes back to work. So I am looking forward to having time together as a family and time to focus on the career side of things.

I could never do that..I always think there is something suss about those stories, like when a pram accidentily falls into the river without you knowing?????

I have eternal baby brain and have been so tired that I left my groceries at the supermarket after Zander was born - I put him in the car and went home and then when I went to put the groceries away realised they were still in the trolley outside the supermarket..I rang them straight away and lucky someone had handed them in.

We had a quiet birthday today..went and played this morning and the cake and presents this arvo...everywhere you look there is bob the builder. We have got Wyatts 1st birthday to go next month then xmas before I can relax again

Im lucky i have Craig home 24/7 but still things are just as tough. Some days i wish i could walk out the door for a full day just to get some peace....but alas its not possible just yet.

Glad Zander had a good birthday Nicola. Our birthday tomorrow will be a quite one too. Chelsea will be getting hardly any presents thanks to the people who stole our money...ive not been able to buy poor Chelsea anything but a few items of clothing :(

Zander would of been happy with a single balloon as a birthday present...I know its hard when you want to buy them more and cant.

I have been feeling like crap too, I have had a cold lingering the past week and a half and everyday Im in a haze..hanging out for bedtime.

I find this time of year very emotional and full-on and Im not enjoying all the latest world dramas eg.mumbai,tilt train crash,storms,pet killers,air nz crash. It makes you appreciate what is around us (however hard or bad our days seem:cry:)and not take anything for granted because we never know when it will be gone.

Happy birthday Chelsea for tomorrow! I am behind the times, did you get robbed Kimbaz?

AJP - dh has given 75% of ONE year's tax return to accountant (06/07). if this return is not filed and finished by 12 December, i will still be nearly $6,000 in debt. So it's not quite over yet. I believe it when it's done and my fine is a zero balance.

THEN there is the next tax year to get through (07/08). That is another debt on TOP of the $6,000. I am just waiting for dh to tell me, he's too busy because of xmas or some other twaddle, to get that one done.

Christy, how much family day care or child care have you got the girls booked in for? How does Matilda handle having carers? I would imagine, right now, going to paid work would be a relief from having Matilda be upset many hours per hours. I cannot imagine how hard that would be. Huge hugs to you. I remember you saying the tradeoff for moving to Sydney, would be having to work more hours. Have you found wardrobes yet? So much to organise when you move house, let alone states. blimey, that's huge.

Have all the brissy girls on here managed to escape serious storm damage? i hope so.

we went to a xmas pageant today, bilby was so serious, observant of it all, i thought she would be bopping away, but all the noise, excitemetn, colours, i think was a bit overwhelming for her, and this was only a surburban one, not the huge one that is held in the city each year. It was really well done, and unlike the huge city one, we could actually get a good view, still be in shade, I was very impressed, we'll def go next year too.

Gigi no we were not robbed, our Visa debit card was used in 3 fraud transactions over 2 days on Monday and Tuesday taking $1500 over our money. As it was a debit card it was OUR money...and not credit....so we were left with a little over $500 to live on until mid December when some more money comes in. Now the banks are saying mid February until our money will be returned as its being investigated BUT are putting the blame on us because my card was ment to be suspended but i never called them so they unsuspended it...and as a result....let these transaction go through (took place in Portugal, London and Italy).

Also Gigi Xander is SJ mumof2's little boy.....Zander is Nicola's little boy...

Chelsea is better today....still got a snotty nose but the Panadol must have helped her....poor Jasmine is still very sick. My throat is on fire.

Thansk for reminding me! We got wardrobes! There's a positive!!

I have no childcare for Matilda, nothing is available until January, then I don't want to have 2 weeks in a new place to only have to readjust when she starts school, so no childcare. She isn't able to go to a centre at all because of the sensory issues... too loud. Family day care is perfect & we are on an emergency waiting list, but nothing is around.

Chelsea got of us....clothes, a puzzle and a Dorothy the Dinosaur book. Of others she got clothes, DVD's, Wiggles books, Big Red Car that sings, an areoplane torch, gorgeous princess that hangs from her roof...heaps....

I felt so bad we had nothign for her pretty much...but ill make it up to her when we have money back!

oh hun I'm sure that was perfect for her!! I felt bad as we moved the few days before, but Jovie got:

a pram for her dolls
a new doll
a book
and some bubbles...

Thats it. She loved it. Her favourite was the blower and hat and cake!
