LOL moving house sonds good..but a big step just for more space!!
Our new house has 4 bedrooms so we can have a max of 3 kids and no guests!!! hahaha
Well im buggered today...im so run down, Chelsea is still giving me grief...ive even begun questioning if i made the right choice becoming a mum and ive been crying all afternoon. Make matters worse DH wont be home til 10pm cos he is at the business dinner im also ment to be at, but im not cos of stupid m/s not letting me go to work.
Im sorry for my complaining....but you ladies are the only ones that will listen. I hope you all have a good night :)
ETA: Congrats Sophie.....can u teach Chels to roll from her front to back.....she can only go back to front!!
-
oh Kim *hugs* hard days.... I had a rough few days with Jovie not sleeping & tired & cranky. I called DH home yesterday because I felt so awful & then I cried saying "why can't I be a good mother". We all have those days sweets, you are doing a fantastic job!!!
YAY AJP!!! WOO HOO Sophie! Well done :)
-
Goodluck with the moving Christy !!
AJP- Yay Sophie:D geez they are growing to quickly :( Emelia rolled back to front today i nearly missed it!, she rolled front to back when she was 13 weeks but harldy does it anymore!!! lazy bum she is i think lol
Luua - i bet little Ella looks so cute with teeth!!
-
Kim- u poor darling..somedays it would be good to just run away and hide!! hugs darl hope u get a good nights rest
-
must be the phase the moon is in say I, because that is exactly how I have been feeling...wanting to run away and hide! I told DH today that if Aston is sleeping thru by 6mths then I am weaning him to a bottle, because I can't do the no sleeping thing, and breast feed, and still run around after everyone else. Im shattered. I know how you are feelng Christy, aston is waking extra at night, and it is sending me over the edge.
i guess we can all cry together...or laugh...lol. its good to have a place to "dump". and feel heard as well.
well on that note I'm goin to bed...my eyes hurt I'm so tired.
-
Last night was better for us, Jovie woke at 4am and then again at 6am for the day, so much better!! But I think it was more due to Matilda sleeping through for the first time in 4 weeks ;)
-
What the hell is happening?! Evie was brilliant, going to bed at 6/7 and waking around 230/3 and then 530 for the day. now there's an extra night feed and it's devastating me!! last night was particularly bad, sleep at 7, woke at 930 for feed, then at 1:45 then 3 then 4 then asleep next to me on the bed til 730.
i thought it might be a growth spurt but she's not eating a lot during the day and when she does she only wants one boob and its every 4-5 hours.
Im really at a loss, and worried she's in a habit of waking up more in the night now :(
-
Its a developmental thing too Tara, I remember a few weeks ago posting similarly... not eating during the day & up for a few nights every few hours for a feed, she went back to normal after a few days. I hope thats it for Evie!
-
Same goes here Tara although my boy has never slept more than 6hrs in a row (and that was only once!). We are still having 2 feeds at night and wake ups between them. I am just so over it, I am actually strangely calmer. DH Slept in same room with us lats night for the first time in 3 weeks. He said every time he woke, there I was just leaning over the cot, patting Logan like some kind of robot! he told me, he was amazed by my patience. IAt least he now realises what I deal with EVERY night. I don't feel very patient at 3am but what else can I do? NO one else is looking after DS!
Kim - Hugs to you darl. We ALL have bad days ( if not several in a row). Hoping you feel better soon and Chelsea gets back to perfect angel behaviour
Christy - Good luck with the girls sleeping together. wait til Jovie a bit older and then they will be up all night playing!!
AJP - Yay for Sophie rolling. before you know it she will be crawling!! Logan has rolled front to back and back to front quite a few times but not in the past couple of weeks - seems to have forgotten how he did it! How is your family situation coming along?
After a very poor night sleeping, Logan is having a power sleep now! Was due a feed 1.5hrs ago but I daren't wake him - just wish he would do this at night!
-
Its good to know that it is a developmental thing Christy. When it seems all our bubs are doing much the same around the same time, stands to reason doesn't it. Jovie being those few weeks older paves the way for the rest of us with late november bubs.
Aston woke at 11, then 5. I can cope with that - its when its 11, 2, 4, 6 that sends me over the edge. He has starting blowing raspberries all day long, with various tunes accompanying them. Its very entertaining. Sooooo close to rolling over by himself. Everytime I think he just about to do it, he falls back on to his back. All in his good time I guess.
We are having a house full of people through over this weekend. I love that this house is so big, because when it all gets too much I can escape to my room, at the other end of the house. DH starts a new job monday week, so has the school holidays off. it will be nice to go and explore some of our new surroundings.
Hope everyone has a lovely easter,
-
Meredith ...I reckon you should tell DH to stop watching you patting him to sleep, and get up and do it himself ...you poor thing....Lugh still wakes heaps in the night and my DH and I take turns to settle him ...and we aren't perfect ( far from it ) but it helps me heaps ....and Logan is lucky to have such a devoted mum.
all is fine with us, have a good easter everyone.
-
Definitely a developmental stage Vicky - Ella did exactly the same thing at that age. It only lasted 2 weeks...and went back to normal.
AJP - Horray for rolling over. Ella has done it half a doz times but has no idea how it happened! :) Now she doesnt do it anymore.
Ella has now started biting with her little teeth while feeding because she's discovered it makes mum yell. Then she doesnt feed because she gets distracted:wall:
She's also only feeding on ONE side only during the night. I wonder if she's not needing to eat and just wants a cuddle...
Happy easter everyone!
Ann
-
Luua-OUCHY that Ella is now biting!!
Vicky-Poor thing being woken so often....Chels stil sleeps thru til 7-8am and does not wake at all unless she is cold....i hope Aston improves for you!!
I hope everyone had a good easter....we did! Have heaps of cute pics of Chels on her site now from today.....on Wednesday we are getting a studio shot done.
-
Ann - all i can say is OUCH!!!
Kim - love the new pics..adorable
Hope everyone had a lovely easter
-
ouchies!!! Matilda didn't have teeth until she was 13 months so I'm scared Jovie will get them while still bf.... but at the rate we are going she won't be
Kim the ticker & pictures are gorgeous!!
Well... we've held off putting Jovie into the shared room.... A) because she's decided to wake up 2-3 times a night and want to feed & I'm not getting out of bed LOL. B) because Matilda isn't sleeping well & we are going away in 2 weeks so may as well wait until we come back.
I think she will be a week off 6 months then so may as well wait until 6 months... LOL can you tell I don't want to move her yet?
-
Lastnight we played move rooms....Chelsea is now in our room as hers is getting to damn cold and the cats keeping jumpin in with her.....
She sleeps worse in our room :( All night she would wake and cry, ended up in our bed then we got no sleep.....its a nightmare arghhhh!!!
-
christy i can understand not being readyto move rooms with jovie i liken it me and sophie starting solids!!!
KIM poor chelsea can you rug her up more at night???? what does she wear at the moment?
-
Normally she will wear a bonds suit and singlet and a thin sleeping bag, sheets and thin blanket. OR long sleeve suit singlet and thick sleeping bag, sheets and thing blanket. Her hands, feet and head are freezing no matter what. She wont let me wrap her, hates sheets on her no matter how tight i tuck her in. My health nurse said what she wears is fine and not to dress her in any more then that.....
Our room is warmer...i think cos theres two of us breathing and the sun seems to heat it in the afternoon, where as hers is at the back and never gets any sun what so ever. Its freezing if i shut the door (to stop the cats) so i had to stop doing that...
-
bummer Kim sophies room is also colder than the rest of the house so i hear ya!!!! i often put socks on her as well!!!
-
HI girls, first time in days that I have had a chance to get on the computer. Have had a house full of people over the easter break. Was good, but gee am I glad that they are all gone now!
Aston has settled, and is only waking once in the night, well for the last couple of nights - fingers crossed that it stays that way!
I have ordered a grobag - my inlaws are arriving from the uk in 4 weeks and they are bringing it with them They are heaps cheaper over there, even with the exchange rate. see how he goes in it. I hoping that it will magically make him sleep all night...lol...I guess I can live in hope.
hope everyone has a nice easter....
-
Christy - its nice having bubs near. I dont blame you for not wanting to move her either.
Vicky - Its nice to have visitors but they do throw schedules out the window dont they...
Kim - we put a mosquito net over the cot to keep the cat out of it. It seems to have stopped him. But yesterday we discovered the cat had urinated in Ella's pram(all over her wool insert) and on her toys. We've decided enough is enough...(sadly) we dont know what to do about his jealousy... We're now looking for a new home for him :(

Happy easter everyone
Finding it hard to keep up everywhere but i shall get there one day :)
All is good here

MIA again..Whew thats an effort trying to catch up with everyone! It's quite funny though, one post is sad, next one happy again, an outsider would think we're all bipolar!!!!
anyways...
*drum roll* EVIE SLEPT THRU THE NIGHT!!!!!! i've been meaning to move her out of the bassinet and into her cot for days as she is way way too big for the bassinet, so last night she was in her cot and slept through! i put her to bed at her normal bedtime around 6 and then got her up at 9 for a feed then she 'woke' at 5:45..i actually got her up cos, as you can imagine, my boobs were rather loaded!!
I need to get her a sleep suit though, cos even though she was wrapped and had a blanket on her arms were like icicles!!
now she;s gone back down for a nap which, might i add, she put herself to sleep again! anyways, i'm off to enjoy the day well rested! Sorry to rub it in everyone...i've paid my dues though! 1st nights sleep in over 6 months!!!
-
Luua, i just read your post about your cat. we are having the same problems. i haven't noticed he's urinated on anything but his meowing is just constant, like it actually doesnt stop. we dont know what to do with him either. giving him away has crossed our minds more than once, but we just cant do it. dh did just say that if he was peeing on everything like yours is then he'd be out on his ear! i feel bad because he used to be our baby and now we just dont have the time like we used to, which makes me feel like a terrible pet owner! oh well, we cant help these things i guess :(
-
Girls see your vet about your cats, there are hormone injections that can help or phermone diffusers.... ;)
ETA: Also wrapping something like aluminium foil (sp?) around a frequented area can distract them or cling wrap feels yuck to them, tape too, and the other thing is strong citrus smells. Just a few ideas to try ;)
-
We are lucky our cats dont urinate on Chelsea's things....but just the jumping and sleeping on everything of hers is annoying me... grrr. They leave their fluff everywhere!
Chels went to bed at 9pm.....had only had 3 bottles then not 4.....and she woke at 1.30 gave her a bottle then took me til 3am to get her back to sleep....
-
Woohoo Taralee - isnt' it the best feeling in the world to have a full nights sleep. Aston gave us about four nights sleep just before we moved...I'm still waiting for it to return... LOL at the bipolar remark... up down and all over the place aren't we!!!
I'm hiding in the study at the moment. and have left the kids in DH's hands. Unless Aston needs to be fed, he is just as capable of looking after him as I am.
Our cat is an outside cat, so haven't had the issues some of you have had. thank god. DH would have taught him how to fly otherwise! The cat just ignores me now, which is cat speak for I'm not very happy with you. Well take a number!!!
Aston fed once last night, and settled him self back to sleep the other times he woke. Tonight I am going to see if he will settle himself back to sleep by himself. He doesnt cry, just moans.
hi all....too tired to do personals. sorry.

-
Just a quick hi, i am still around
Kim:What a great pic you have in your ticker :)
Hope everyone else is well
Went to a birthday party today at a great park, kids had a ball and were all very very good, so makes the day even better, Mason was sooo excited to go and he didnt even know what a party was i didnt think, but when we got there he sat at the table and said party lol so guess he does know
Cooper is going fine, has a bit of gastro thing at the moment so hoping that clears up, otherwise all is good, he is a cling on though and my neck and back and everything else is sore from his weight!
-
Welcome back Gigi! I know that feeling of being even more in love - i'm going thru that now too, sometimes i just cuddle her so tight i think she might just pop!
Almost a full night's sleep last night, she went to sleep at 630, i got her up for a feed at 945 then she woke at 1 and 2 but i just put her dummy back in and she went back to sleep then woke at 5 for a feed and then back to sleep with me in bed until 6.
Last night when i put her to bed i checked on her and she was asleep then after about 5 minutes there was a bloodcurdling cry so i run in and the cat is swatting at her feet through the bars of the cot. well, i have never been so mad in all my life - i was like caveman mother! Poor evie, he scared the sh*t out of her! i dont blame her if shes too scared to ever sleep again! I know that cat wouldve seen her legs wiggle and thought it was a game, but he knew he was in the bad books for the rest of the night and sulked in a corner. What to do? I feel for him but i just dont have the time like i used to to sit and cuddle him
Does anyone have any good ideas of how i can make money from home? I only need a bit but i am loathed to go back to my childcare job...i want to be with evie every second (well, just about!)
-
i feel the same about sophie, i'm soooo in love with this little princess, i want to eat her sometimes!!!!!!!
glad your getting more sleep tara
i think everyone is having probs with pets!!! our dog is driving me nuts barking all the time grrrr
tara cant help you with money making
belinda i hope cooper gets better soon and gives your back and neck a break!!
-
Tara - Honey i'm with you on the cat thing. The motherhood and protector instinct just jumps into action doesnt it!? We've tried the Vet's advice completely and he still continues to urinate everywhere. We've now spent a small fortune on him since Ella arrived and cant continue to do it...:(
Also with the money i heard some mothers doing some letterbox drops for printers/publishers. So you get to go out for walks and make a bit of extra $$. I'm not sure who you would talk to though.
Gigi - Sounds like you guys are doing really well. I find i'm constantly kissing Ella everywhere. Head, cheeks, hands, feet, bum... she's delicious
AJP - Do you have a pic of your little princess you can share with us? Would love to see Sophie, the love of your life.
Belinda - hope the Gastro is better for little Cooper. Ella was very clingy when her teeth cut through now she's busy blowing raspberries.
We're doing fine here. We found an apartment and are about to make an offer on it. I just hate this negotiation game... But the location is great - lots of parks nearby and a view of the local church/convent (so it will be quiet) and an interesting assortment of shops and restaurants for distractions.
