Hi everyone
Hope u have all had a good day. We have had 2 pretty miserable days. Thomas just wasnt himself. I think he might be teething cause it really isnt like him to be upset. He woke every 1 1/2 to 2 hours on Wednesday night, had a feed and was quite upset and he never really cries. He has been dribbling like mad, really needs to wear a bib, chewing on anything and sucking his bottom lip in. Thomas has his 4 mth needles next Thursday. Not looking forward to them as I hate needles myself let alone having to hold Thomas while they do it to him. He had really big lumps on his legs after the last ones and they were there for what seemed months.
Hoody - Hope you are feeling better. Get well soon. Great work on getting Molly into her own room.
Hi to everyone else. Hope u have a good weekend :)
-
Hi girls!
Sorry havent been around - no net for the last FOUR day - stupid *insert several expletives* telstra!
Anyhow...Not much time for personals but here goes!
June - Nappy Hunt is a "treasure hunt" through about 80 MCN and parenting Web sites - each site has an icon and its hidden on the site somewhere and you follow the clues to look around the site and find the icon....the more you find, the better the prize draw you go in! Youwin lots of nappies and cool stuff!! (TOTALLY additive, but Im almost finishednow!! yay!!)
Check it out, goes until the end of march (its free to btw) diaperdecisions.com
Dragonbub - tell your DH to go and check out the Australian Nappy Network homepage - gives you all the low down on why you should be using cloth nappies - and shows you how much cash you save from birth to toilet training - HUGE!!!
Did yo uknow it takes 1 cup of Crude oil to make just ONE sposie??
And youll love the itti bittis - they are great and they fit under normal clothes which is cool. The ANN page will also give you tips on washing them and jargon and things - and then you can come and join the cloth nappy thread! :) YAY! GO CLOTH!lol
And willow is right - it is highly addictive!! hehehe
Hoody - sorry to hear you are feeling like crap - not nice! hope you feel better soon - but glad the bubs has been good to you ;) (excepting that power chuck lol)
Welcome Holly :) Your Thomas is only 6 days older than Charlotte...and I also had the emergency c/s - same reason too! lol I think Charlotte is teething, doing the same things as Thomas - except DH if so sure shes not (based on what Im not sure though...)
anyway, welcome !:)
Charlotte has been ok lately - a little bit restless and a bit velcro though - but them again so am I!! lol DF is home this week, so made me go out today to get out of the house. Went and had a facial and things so that was SOOOO good! yum! Going to try putting Charlotte in her own room this week too - DF says he wants his bed back! lol and since she doesnt really fit in her bassinette anymore, dont really have much of a choice :( Shes getting too big too quick!
Anyhow, getting late and I want ot do some baking while its cool...
Take care all - hope everyone in Adelaide is coping ok too!
Alexis
x:)
-
Holly - Us too! Cameron was so fussy all day yesterday I was almost in tears by bedtime. I just didn't know what to do for him cuz nothing made him happy. He seems in much better spirits today thankfully. I hope Thomas is too.
LimeSlice - oooh a facial, how nice!! I cold certainly go for one of those...or maybe a pedicure.
Dragonbub - Let me know how they go. I really want to go cloth but the ones I have are STILL too big and so they leak. I'm so used to disposables now I'm worried he's gonna outgrow the cloth ones before he ever even wears them!
Willow, June, Suse, Heather - Hope you are all well
Hoody - aw sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I feel for you. Being sick and looking after a sick baby is so hard! Cameron, hubby and I all got a cold in early Feb and are just now finally getting over it. It wasn't too severe but it just would not go away. Ah yes, gotta love those middle of the night power chucks!
Our fun stuff these days is leaky diapers. Had Cameron all dressed up for winter weather and was about to pop him in the stroller when his diaper breached. The poop soaked his onesie, his overalls, and somehow filled the foot of his fleece over suit (which I discovered when I opened up the crotch snaps and reached in to pull his foot out....nice). Instead of going for a walk he had to have a bath. Then last night he had a nice big poop in the tub (our first experience with that) and had to have a second bath. He's a pooping machine!
Tomorrow is Hubby and my 11 year anniversary (we've been married three of those years though) so we have friends looking after Cameron while we go cross country skiing. We're going out for dinner as well but we'll probably take the little guy with us for that part cuz that might be too long to leave him. I'm excited!
-
Holly- Sorry to hear you have had a rough couple of days i really feel for you. Hopefully Thomas will improve over the weekend. Try not to stress about the needles. Molly had hers yesterday and was unsettled for a couple of hours in the arvo but had a good night and seems fine today :)
Limeslice- How lucky are you getting to go for a facial  i certainly am jealous. I bet you must really love the week you have your DP home i know i would. My DH has been thinking of going on the riggs but it 3wks on and 3wks off dont think i'd cope just yet maybe in a couple of months.
Twinsis- You sound like you have a right little poo machine on your hands :p I know what its like for them to do it in the bath both my girls have done it at some stage. It must be cos they get so relaxed in the warm water but def a PITA having to do a 2nd bath however better then doing it in the towel as your drying them of BTDT too.
Well i am feeling a little better but still not great i went to bed ridiculously early last night but still had to feed Molly at 12 and 6 and DD1 has a nightmare at 2- DH says he didnt hear her crying :wall: Molly seems very settled today considering she has a cold and had her needles yesterday she is just feeding and sleeping like clock work. Its a nice change. My Twin sister also has taken DD1 for the day to let me rest so i'm feeling a little lost not used to the peace and quiet iykwim i should be in bed but dont like to waste time to myself  Well hope you all have good weekends.
-
Hey Hey
Well we have had a good couple of days and nights. Thomas has been much more settled and isnt out of sort so thats good.
Has anyone else started giving their babies any rice cereal or are you waiting til 6months?
Hoody - Glad to hear u are feeling a bit better. That was nice of your sister. I hope u enjoyed the time off!!
Twinsis - Thomas hasnt pooed in the bath yet. I have been waiting for it. He has made plenty of fountains weeing tho!
Limeslice, Dragonbub, Willow, June, Suse, Heather - Hope u are all having a great weekend
-
Hey Holly - have tried baby cereal, apple and sweet potato. He loves it all and grabs my hand with the spoon and pulls it towards his mouth with a big open mouth! He gobbles it all up and doesnt spill a drop. Otherwise if he is not in the mood, he wont have a bar of it, so I don't force him. I am pretty casual at the moment, kind of every other day if we are home around lunch time, then I give it to him. Just testing really to see how he goes for when we get "serious" at 6 months. Will try pumpkin next! :D
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Off to a wedding today so will catch up soon.
PS I did write another post and it didn't appear on here :( I asked if anyone had tried nappy hunt? How did you start??
-
Thanks Dragonbub. Am thinking of trying Thomas on some rice cereal and other dfferent fruit and veggies to see how he goes. Being a bigger baby I am thinking he will be needing something more soon. He loves watching us eat!
-
Hi everyone
Hope your weekend has gone well. We have had a fairly quiet time which is nice. Some friends were having a garage sale today so we took a heap of baby stuff over to sell. My DH offered to go early and take Jacob with him and give me a few more hours sleep. It was wonderful!!
Hoody - hope you are feeling better. I completely understand wanting to just have to look after yourself for a change
Holly84 - I can sympathise about the bad nights. We had a few of those. Just know that it will pass and he will get over it soon.
Limeslice - LOL about the nappy hunt. I can imagine it would get quite addictive. Good luck with the prizes. Fingers crossed that putting Charlotte in her own room works of thise week.
Twinsister - sorry but had to laugh about your poosplosion. Its amazing how much comes out of them sometime isn't it. Hope you had a good wedding anniverary today
Dragonbub - hope you had fun at the wedding
Oh and we have started with the rice cereal. Not much at the moment, just 1 tspn in EBM. He is now eating about half of that at the moment. We aren't doing it for extra food, just to ease him in to it slowly (he doesn't like change too much )
-
DB & June You guys are so brave starting in on the cereals etc. already. I'm paranoid about food allergies as allergies run in both of our families. Hubby and I both have dust and animal allergies, and I've developed a bunch of food intolerances and am allergic to hazelnuts (not the life threatening kind) so I'm not starting him on anything other than BM until he's at least 6 months.
Hoody - in the tub is def preferable to in the towel!lad to hear you are starting to feel better.
Holly - Ha ha Cameron likes to make fountains too, in the tub or on the change table
I think we're going to see some teeth here soon. Poor Cameron is so fussy and red cheeked, and though he wakes up happy for his 6am feed and in the morning, he wakes up crying from all his day naps. Oops speaking of which, he's waking up must run!!
-
Hi all,
Well we ended up going away for the weekend, despite me telling DH that it was going to be better to stay home... We were meant to leave on Friday, but finally got away Sat morning. IN the end, I just used it as a nice night away and instead of going fossicking, went and had a lovely dinner instead!!! We were staying in a caravan in the mountains.. I woke about midnight and Kimberley's hands were like ice, rest of her was warm though and I ended up putting her in my single bed with me.. Except for a dead leg cause I was too scared to roll, I got some reasonable sleep after that. Her sniffles seemed to disappear for the night.
There is definately a tooth on the way. I saw it yesterday, but it has gone back down now, so just have to wait. She was a bit grizzly and sniffly last night and DH went and got her and put her in our bed. She kept rolling to me so I was the one kept awake from his wonderful idea:doh: (I was going to out her in the portacot in our room). She has been sleeping through but was up twice. As my dad is staying at the moment, we went back to our own room and had the monitor on, (not sure how you ladies who use it cope, it was worse than having her with me). We are off to get needles today, so sure we are in for a grumpy day..
Twinsis - I am allergic to hazelnuts too.. I was gutted when I found out as I was addicted to Ferrero Rocher's!!
June - Yay on DH taking Jacob. my DH will always look after Kimberley at home, and I have to persuade him that it is ok to take her out. And we have the advantage of him being able to gove her a bottle, but he still needs pushing..
Dragonbub - Hope the wedding was fun.
Holly - We give Kimberley baby cereal every now and then.. I mainly give it to her when she is being fussy with milk, or of she gets hungry between feeds, she sometimes just wants to be topped up.. For us, not that bad a task except when she insists on pushing it in with her fingers  I have fruit to try, but haven't got round to it yet.
Hoody - hope you are feeling better.. When I'm not feeling well with a cold, a hot lemon drink always works wonders for me.. Just squeeze a fresh lemon, add honey or sugar to take the bitterness away and fill mug with boiling water. Also if you aren't taking them, the pregnancy and breastfeeding vitamins seem to give me a bit of a kick as well.. Even though I could stop BF in an instant if I wanted to take something stronger (cause I am mainly FF), I haven't taken anything that is not suitable for babies since I found out I was pregnant. It is amazing how you can cope without all the other stuff.
Limeslice - sounds like you have the cloth nappy thing working.. Do you use them all the time? I use them at home, but get a bit lazy when we are out and at night time.. I have a few pea-pods as well, but just trying to get my act together to go all the way.
Willow - hope you are keeping well..
Better go and get sorted and feed Kimberley so I can go and get her needles.. My dad is coming with me today as DH got called into work.:(
Sorry if I have missed anyone.
-
Hoody - hope you are feeling better hun?
Heather - you're holiday sounds nice, even though the sleeping arrangements didn't give you much rest LOL. It is so much harder with a babe isn't it? Everything becomes that much more difficult, and it is like you are organising a para-millitary coup to infiltrate an enemy base instead of just packing for a picnic :D
Twinsis - we don't have any food allergies here, just food preferences I guess. I don't like liver and never liked brussel sprouts as a child but don't mind them now. Other than that - anything goes! DH is the same, and DS is following in our footsteps I think, he loves the cereal, apple and potato, as well as my hands, newspaper, bits of fluff from teh floor, and anything else he can get his mits on and stuffed into his mouth LOL.
June - sounds like a good spring clean and a way to earn some $ from all the stuff you have left over.
Limeslice - would appreciate any hints on nappy hunt. I haven't even started yet and kind of don't know where to begin, or what the rules are? I should maybe try again today when I have a bit more time.
Well, as for us, the wedding went great. Caden didn't say boo the whole time and was happy to be carried around by various women - some random strangers and some rellies. We took him to the reception also as there was no one to baby sit, and he was perfect also. He made a few comments at speech time, but luckily we were at the back and therefore only our table heard. Then he had a quick top up feed from me and I put him in the pram for the night - he went straight in, thumb in mouth, no fuss. What a great guy!! This morning he woke up SOAKED and there went my lovely sleep in, but hey, you can't have everything right?!
Well have a great week all, I am hoping my nappies arrive soon :)
-
Holly- Glad to hear things have improved for you :)
June- Yay on getting rid of some baby stuff my house is over flowing. Alot is too good to throw out etc so i keep making trips to the good sammy's or salvo's etc but some stuff is just too good to part with. I need a sis or friend to have a baby
Twinsis- I'm with you on waiting til 6 month to introduce solids lots of allergies here too.
Heather- Thanks for the tip with the lemon drink i will try it shortly. Glad you still got away for the weekend even if it wasnt all to plan.
Dragonbub- Glad Cadeb was a star through out the wedding its always a bonus when they are good when you need them to be.
As for us we are ok i am still full of cold and so are both girls and DH. As usual though everyone else is allowed to be sick and whinge and moan etc but me been the mummy i have to carry on. I must admit i am alot better than i was fri but still not feeling great. Molly has spent all weekend in her nursery though in the bassinette still so will transition her into her cot this week. I dont really have to hurry she is only 5kg but at least then it will all be done iykwim. As for rice cereal and solids i am going to wait until the 6 month mark if i can. Molly isnt showing any interest in food yet and quite content with just BFing. Also DD1 has egg and other food allergies/sensitivities so i dont want to push it all too early. I also am a little lazy too at the moment, i have enough to do without making more work fo myself b4 i have to iykwim. DD1 started rice cereal at 5 and 1/2 months. Of course if i think Molly is really interested or needs it then i will give it to her but for now we are happy so i dont see the need to change what we are doing. Well i am going to fly as both girls are asleep (omg it doesnt happen very often in the day time i'm so excited) so i'm going to prep dinner and have some me time.

Hello everyone,
up until today, I was unable to relate to how you feel with a bub up all night, but now I understand what you go through when you have a bad night. All I was able to do in the past was have sympathy but couldn't really relate :(. Last night Kimmy slept initially for 4 hrs than up every 2 hrs after that.. I am exhausted. Hats off to those of you who have to do it regulary and then cope so well!!!
We have a tooth. Found out it was definately there when she took my finger, shoved it in her mouth and munched on it.. Can't beleive how sharp it is.. And to top it off, she had her 4 month needles yesterday.. In some ways she was cute to watch cause she wanted to be laughing and smiling, but the pain would come through and she would grizzle. But her being in pain was heartbreaking.
I have a question, she has been sleeping with us for the last 3 nights as she hasn't been settling in her own bed (whether in our room or hers).. Is this likely to be a hard thing to erase after 3 nights? She has been quite content in her own room/cot until the weekend..
Am going up to see Mum today. Dad has to go and sign some house papers (he is staying with me cause my brother wasn't allowed to have the dogs at his place), and looks like the settlement will be on Thursday. I am going to ask Mum to look after Kimberley for an hour so I can have a nap.. Am sure there will be no hesitation as she hasn't seen her for a month!!
Hope you are all going well...
-
:DHeather- Sorry to hear you have had such a horrible night but congrats on the tooth. I'm sure once Kimmy is feeling a bit better you will be able to settle her back into her own room. I was told with DD1 though that if you do something for 3+ days in a row it becomes routine and sure enough if i change something with DD1 after 3 days she expects it etc. However little bubs i find are alot more adaptable as such so i'm sure once she is settled you can put her back in her own room without too much trouble.
Well still feeling cr@ppy here my cold seems to have gone on to my chest, making me feel lousy and giving me asthma. I have even had to have a nebuliser today as ventalin wont help (normally my asthma is so mild i forget i have it:( ) On a good note DD1 is in daycare today so i have had time to relax a little. Molly is still been good which is great but honestly i dont know what i am doing different to a couple of weeks ago iykwim when she was so unsettled. Well off to rest 2 and 1/2 hrs b4 my mini tornado comes home :D
-
Morning everyone
Well I think I am coming down with something at the moment. Have been feeling really tired and headachy the last day or two. At least Jacob is sleeping pretty well at the moment, although a bit out of sorts during the day (teeth still I think). Having a rest day as much as possible today.
Dragonbub - so happy for you that Caden behaved for you at the wedding. It would have made the day so much more enjoyable.
Twinsister - there is no history of food allergies in my family and Jacob seems more than ready so I am not too worried about started him on solids. He isn't having it every day at the moment and sometimes I think it would be a whole lot easier to not have to worry about solids at all until he is much older. However, he seems pretty keen to eat it up so I guess I am being led by him.
Heather28 - to you. Hope you have a rest today. It certainly is draining when you have broken sleep. on the tooth though!
Hoody - you sound like you should head to a doctor (maybe you have already). I am thinking antibiotics might be needed to shift your infection. You don't want it lingering on too long. Hope you got some much needed rest before DD1 came home yesterday
Hi - Willow, Limeslice and Holly
Oh just a random question - it probably hasn't been cold enough for ,ost of you to answe this, but how on earthy do you keep socks on these babies? I put them on and then he spends the next 10 mins rubbing his feet together until they ae off.
-
June- how you feeling? i really hope you arent sick its horrible feeling like you are coming down with something and the waiting game begins as such. I hope you had your rest day.
We are doing fairly well and have had an ok week so far. I am finally on the mend thank goodness. On tuesday i thought i'd end up in hospital my chest and asthma were so bad i couldnt get more than a word or two out at once. Having said that anti biotics must have kicked in and with a couple of nebs to get my asthma under control yesterday arvo and today i feel like a new woman :D Nothing really exciting here except i got Molly's ear's pierced yesterday (please no neg comments i know this can be a touchy subject) I got dd1 done at 3 months and never had any dramas with infections etc i think if i had left it she wouldnt have them done till she was old enough to look after them properly. I am thankful i did it early as lots of girls from playgroup are getting their 2yo's done now and have had no end of problems. Molly was very brave and only cried for a minute then had a BF and fell asleep in car on way home when she woke 2hrs later she was all smiles. I didnt tell anyone i was taking her no IL's or family or even my DH as i didnt want all the neg comments i got with DD1. People will notice in there own time. Of course i phoned DH when i got home but he didnt have a prob i knew he wouldnt. He was apprehensive when i took DD1 but after seeing how quick they healed with no probs he was just excited to come home and see Molly. Well i hope the Easter bunny visits everyone and you all enjoy your lovely long weekend.
Its gone quiet in here again ladies......where is everyone?? ;)
-
Hi there ladies
Well we have had a good week. Thomas has only been waking once and its been in between 4 and 5 am so that is great. Not sure if it has anything to do with the fact I have been giving him some Farex at bout 5pm?
Thomas had his 4 month vaccination needles today. He went really well, only cried for a second while it was happening and then stopped.
Not much else to say. Hope you are all having a good week and HAPPY EASTER!!
-
Hi all,
Had a hell of 2 days at work (not sure how they will cope when I drop the bombshell that I have no intention of returning full time).. Am so tired.. Thank goodness I have 5 days off now!!! Feel like I have had worked 10 days straight.
Mum and Dad are here for a few nights, so still got Kimberley in our room, but in a portacot now.. She slept through again last night, so getting back to normality  But as she has been down since 5.30 this arvo, am expecting her to be up at some stage tonight.
Holly - Kimberley was very brave with her needles this time too, only cried for a few seconds. Although we had the added luxery of teething at the same time  There are now 2 teeth both on the bottom.. They look kinda cute..
Hoody - glad to see you are all on the mend..
Anyhow DH is due home in a few minutes, so off to get a glass of wine ready for him..
Have a safe and happy easter and will chat again soon when I am a bit more with it!!
-
hi girls!
Well Charlie is in her own room now in the cot :( DF was home last week and decided that he wanted cuddles himself and he wasn't getting enough sleep so she has gone into the nursery...and doesn't seem to care that shes not getting cuddles from mummy anymore :( Oh well, she's sleeping well though, so that's a good thing. I'm trying to cut out her 4am feed so shes going down later at about 10pm, which just meant a minor change in her schedule during the day and not a problem! My lil bumpy thing is pretty flexible apparently!
We bought her a jolly jumper the other day too - what a great invention!! lol I was really surprised though when we were trying to find one, that K-Mart doesn't sell them anymore because of some OHS bull***** - don't get that myself...There isn't much room for it faultering if you follow the instructions, so I don't know what they base it on...Had to buy it from Target so that was ok! lol And she LOVES it - thinks being upright is just all the rage atm! :) The new piccy in the ticker is her in her JJ on Monday...so gorgeous!! *not that I'm biased or anything ;P*
Dragonbub: umm...Rules for the nappy hunt - you cant give out hints for icons, only the offical website owners can do that via the hint forum on the diaperdecisions homepage...VERY helpful too... Some are easy, some not, though most are findable, just time consuming! lol be prepared to not have the housework done for a few hours! lol Ends on the 31st of March. Its great fun though and really satisfying when you find the hard ones!
Heather and Holly - Glad to hear all went well with the injections! I haven't had Bump immunised, so I don't know how I would go watching her get them, but well done!
Heather - The look on their faces will be priceless when you tell them ;) Maybe they will offer you the PT if they know you'll leave otherwise?....
and congrats on that tooth!! I don't have one yet, but looking every day...Just be careful you don't lose a finger i suppose!!
WRT MCN, yes I use them all the time, although I do have a back-up packet of Landfill which I use overnights sometimes or if we are out for long times (because I don't have enough night nappies..have to wait til the cash flow is up a bit) - done too much nappy shopping lately! lol) The more I use them the more I hate sposies too....the MCN is nicer, softer, prettier...and they dont smell in the bin!!
Hoody - Good on you for doing what you think best for DD! Glad she didn't have any problems and I'm sure she looks like a princess :)
Glad to hear you feeling well too - can't be nice being that ill and trying to look after TWO kids as well! You rock!
June - sorry you aren't feeling well - lets hope it isn't too serious!! But good that Jacob is sleeping well - makes it that lil bit easier. don't know about the socks - I just keep putting them back on over and over and over again! lol
Twinsis - I'm with you on the solids thing - no allergies, just petrified of giving her real food! lmao Think I'll have to be forced to feed her solids even at 6 months!!
Suse - if you are lurking, just wanted to give you my best...Your family and your dad are in my thoughts and we're all hoping for the best possible outcome for him :) *huge hugs* Glad to hear that Euan is bringing light and love into a dark situation too...Its amazing how they do that. And if you need an understanding shoulder who knows what you are going through, Im here for you :) Will send some energy your way during the Ostara/Full moon circles tomorrow and Saturday too
Anyone I have rudely forgotten *!!* Hope you are all well and wishing everyone a very happy Ostara/Mabon for tomorrow and Easter this weekend! May the Goddess fill you all with happiness and joy :)
-
Hi there girls
Well Thomas slept through last night. I thought we may of had a rough night given he was immunised yesterday. Appears to have a bit of a temperature this morning but seems happy enough.
LimeSlice - I have a JJ too. Just wondering what age did u put Charlie in it??
Heather - Hope you have a nice 5 days off!
Hoody - Glad to hear u are feeling better. Nothing worse than not feeling 100%. Molly's ears must look so cute. I had my ears pierced at a young age when I was little.
June - I hope u have managed to fight off whatever u thought u were getting
Dragonbub - That is great that Caden behaved himself at the wedding. What a good baby!
Twinsis - Thomas loves his rice cereal. He opens his mouth wide up and really looks forward to it. Spits it when there is none left. He has also had fresh peach, banana and apple. He sucks it through one of those mesh things. He loves it and is more than ready for it.
sorry if i have missed anyone. Have a good one
-
Holly,
We have had Kimmy in the JJ since about 3 months (just a few mins at a time to start with).. She has always had strong leg control and wants to be upright. She seems to show she has had enough cause the head starts to droop..
Am off to have some brekky before Kimmy gets hungry. She is amazed by my parents dogs in the backyard at the moment.
-
Hi everyone!
Yep LS, I have been lurking, but haven't had time to post. Now I'm at home, will hopefully have more time. Thank you so much for your thoughts and positive energy - it's lovely to know how many people care. (For those who don't know, my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer just over a week ago which was inoperable - we had some 'good' news though yesterday - with chemo they might be able to give him a year at best. Euan and I went down to Melbourne for a week to see him and mum and will probably be back and forth a bit over the next few months).
Euan was brilliant though whilst travelling, I was nervous as hell especially as DP was unable to come but it was fine. I had my Ergo with me (yay for Ergo!) and it made it so much easier to travel with. And on the days where we were at the hospital with my dad and Euan needed a sleep, I just put him to sleep in the Ergo, although I think he's getting a little used to it now and has been a bit difficult to get to sleep since returning, but that could also be because he is teething, poor little bugger. Nothing has come through yet but lots of movement. So he'll have a couple of days here and there where he is just super unhappy, then they'll obviously settle down a bit because he'll be happy again, before starting up. He's cross cutting, and looks like he'll either get his left canine or bottom two first. My money is on the canine. But it looks like this could go on for months!! :D (not!)
I'll try to come back in for proper personals a bit later but did want to say one thing - Dragonbub, no, you are certainly not crazy for getting so excited about your new MCN. (Or at least no more than I am!!). And your DP will probably change his tune once he realises how easy they are!! I am very lucky with my DP, he wanted to use cloth as much as I, and does think I am a little mad with it all, but has got into MCN with a fair amount of enthusiasm for a bloke. As far as I'm concerned they are just another part of his wardrobe and gives me another opportunity to get excited about something to buy for him!! I'll probably be a little sad when we TT which sounds absolutely crazy!
Oh, and Hoody, I'm glad you are feeling better now - it sucks to be a mum when you are sick - there's no time off at all. And like others have said re: the BFing versus FFing, you do what's right for YOU. Everyone else and their opinions can sod off!
June, hope you are not getting the dreaded lurgy. Re: socks - we were contemplating the following options whilst in Melbourne: staple guns, gaffa tape, elastic bands, or surgically attaching velcro to his feet. :p Apart from that - no idea. The only other thing I can think of is baby legs (legwarmers) or really, really long socks - if they are long enough they'll take ages to get to his feet so you won't have to put them back on so often!
Re: the solids thing - I'm going to wait until 6 months unless he absolutely demands it, but it's because I'm lazy and it's hard enough preparing a meal for DP and I, let alone for Euan too. Boob is just so much easier! So far he has no interest in food so we'll see how we go. Each to their own on the allergy thing - like cloth versus sposies, boob versus bottle, etc etc. I'm personally inclined to err on the side of caution with solids, but that's mostly because it sits comfortably with my inherent laziness. But I have been known to *gulp* stick a dummy in his mouth after it's been in mine, so who am I to talk?!! :p
Hope everyone has a lovely easter and the big brown chocky bunny is kind - no goodies for me because the little mister has really decided that he is not impressed with his mummy eating chocolate.... waaaaa!
-
Heather
Thanks for your response. I think I will try Thomas in it today. He has shown very good head strength since birth and also has strong legs and pushes off and goes all stiff and doesnt want to sit down.
-
Suse- So sorry to hear about your devastating news  I hope the chemo helps. I will be praying for you and your family. At least Euan was a good boy for you. It is very unusual to cross cut teeth but my friends DS did that too and his teeth are all through now and fine.
Holly- I too put DD1 in a JJ from about 3 months for a couple of minutes at a time but she would get tired really quick. I dont have one this time around as i'd borrowed a friends for DD1 but a good idea when its really warm is to put a small paddling pool underneath for them to splash in etc my DD used to love it.
Limeslice- You are allowed to be biased you are her Mummy though i will admit its a gorgeous photo :) She looks so grown up.
Heather- I hope you enjoy your few days off work :) Its so tiring working and doing all the mum things and housework etc. I went back when DD1 was 7 months but this time i'm gonna enjoy been a SAHM for as long as we can afford it.
Dragonbub and Willow where are you hiding?
Sorry if i've missed anyone :)
Well i Hope you have all had an enjoyable Good Friday. Did you all have fish for dinner? We are not religious at all but DH is very certain about no meat today. I'm not a big meat eater anyway so i didnt miss it really. Well Molly slept in her cot last night for the first time so i have given the bassinette to a friend. Its sad though its like shes growing up too fast. She has been babbling for ages but today has learnt that she can be very loud sqealing etc its all too cute. I am taking her and DD1 for a photo shoot on the Sun the 6th of next month to get some portraits done and cant wait. Well not alot to tell so till next time cya.

Hello All!
Not "hiding" just busy busy busy! Had some time in Mandurah for a friends party - gosh what effort...had to pack DHs outfit for the party cos he was getting there later, his PJs and next day clothes, then my party costume and clothes, and DS clothes (no costume for him). Luckily my sis babysat for us so we had a great time at the party.
Hoody - I hope you are feeling better hun *hugs*. Asthma is horrible, and certainly being sick is no fun when you are a mum. LOL about the "no judgement" for the ear piercing. Of course with Caden being a little bloke means that I never even thought of that! People are crazy in that they think they have the right to judge you on your parenting decisions. I think that is why we have our own kids, so we can make OUR own choices for them. As far as other parents go with their kids, the choice is completely theirs, and your choices are your own business and require no justification!
Suse - so so sorry about your news hun. Glad to hear that there is some positive, and that the chemo might give him some time. There are so many things to say, but nothing will really do anything, so please just know that I am thinking of you and will wish that your father's remaining journey is the one that he hopes for.
Limeslice - Nappy Hunt - you bad girl! Now I am addicted :D Gosh the extreme ones are hard, I have not got even one yet, but have lots of the others. It is great fun, but you are right - very time consuming. It is great to see all the products tho, I love the idea of the amber teething necklace, and just the other breast feeding necklaces for Caden to play with instead of my gold chain. Heh heh, only a few more to go and then at least I have got the 30.
Heather28 - LOL about telling work you will not be coming back full time. It is hard when you feel like you are letting them down - that is because you are a great employee!
Holly84 - bummer about immuz. At least he slept through the night tho. I give Caden some baby panadol for the temp, and that seems to keep him cool.
June - hope you are feeling better? There are some tie things that go around the baby's ankles that keep the socks on. Kind of similar to a hospital band, but made of soft rubber I think. They don't cut off circ and seem pretty cool. I will see if I can find the site for them and will PM you.
Willow - where for art thou?
Did I miss anyone...?
Jolly jumper, sounds like this might be the go. DH wants to get one as well which would be good, and Caden def loves being on his feet. We have a playstation thingo that we got from target and he loves this cos he sits in it with his feet on the ground and he can turn himself around to play with the toys. LOL about Kmart not stocking them for OSH! Target and Kmart are owned by the same company :D
Well, as for us we have been pretty busy. Got some gorgeous professional shots of Caden so will frame them and it takes care of mothers day this year :) Have made some easter treats for the family which we will give out today. Caden has been good, getting so big and strong! He is over 8 kgs and is 69 cm length. BIG bubba!
Have a happy and SAFE easter everyone!
-
Hi everyone,
Hope everyone has enjoyed their easter, got lots of chockies and stayed safe. I think my DH will eat my easter treats as I am having a phase of not being too fond of chocolate at moment.. I have been on bit of a health kick since having Kimberley so suppose it is a good thing.
We still have my parents here which has been great allowing me to have nanna naps.. Their settlement got delayed till next week. We had Kimberley sleeping in our room, but with DH on late shift and coming home at 1.30 in the morning, it seems to wake her. I put her back in her own room and told my parents to come and get me if I don't hear her.
Dragonbub - at you having to pack for DF. At least he wasn't home so it was a good excuse.. My DH never packs.. One time I deliberatley didn't pack his undies, but he still won't pack himself. Glad you enjoyed the party.. Wow on the size of DS.. my little girl is only 61 cm and 5.2kgs, but very healthy so that's all good.
Hoody - hope you are getting over the asthma.. Good on you for piercing Molly's ears.. I think it is so cute, but I couldn't do it.. I had big problems with my ears when I was younger, but got them done when I was a teenager and all was good.
Suse - sorry to hear about your dad. It can't be easy for you, but I am thinking of you.. Make sure that you and little Euan get some quality time with him, although the travelling isn't easy..
Limeslice - on putting DD in her own room.. IT does allow a bit of together time.. DH realised that when we put DD in her own room. Am trying to get my act together on the cloth thing.. Have a bit more cash with me working, so it might happen soon.
Holly - how did the JJ go?
June - hope you are feeling better.. Am definately trying to get to mothers group this week as I will be working the following week.. :(
Twinsis - any teeth yet??
Willow - hoping you are ok..
Am off now to sterelise bottles and have a quiet night.. take care everyone.
-
Hi Everyone
Hope you all had a great long weekend. Although not being back at work it just felt like any other weekend, just with more chocolate. It was supposed to be fairy relaxed and quiet, but there were lots of relatives to catch up with. Thanks to you all for asking how I was feeling. I just had a pretty non-specific thing. Headachy, upset belly and just tired. It may have just been over-tiredness I don't know. Jacob was a little out of sorts too, so I'm not sure what it was. But we are both feeling a lot better today (I think chocolate was the cure).
Jacob is getting really good with his sleeping now. Most nights he is up once (although my days start between 5:30-7am) now so I'm pretty happy with that. He is fighting me a little when I try and get him to sleep, but when he does go down he is asleep for awhile, which is great. I think he has been doing some growing lately, might take him off this week to see how big my chubby boy is getting.
Hoody - I hope you are still resting! You don't want to push yourself too early and then fall in a heap again.
Limeslice - i know its a bit sad that you and Charlottle aren't getting your night-time cuddles, but make the most of DF cuddles! Beautiful photo of Charlie BTW
Suse - i was so sorry to hear your news. I am sending up prayers for you and your dad! LOL about the socks - I was thinking gaffa tape too!! Maybe glue? Oh and Jacob is cross-cutting his teeth. The first one to come through was his lower right canine.
Dragonbub - Congrats on the rapidly growing boy. Very impressive. Oh and how on earth did you find time to make easter treats?
Holly - I was looking at those mesh feeding things and wondering if they are any good. Does Thomas seem to hold it ok?
Heather - sorry I msised you today, won't see you next week if you are working. Luckily we can catch up here. I am glad you are getting a bit of rest with you parents looking after Kimberley for you. Those afternoon naps are the best!!
Willow - hope all is well.
Well off to have a very girly shopping expedition with my mum, nana and aunt. Looks like Jacob will be getting lots of cuddles this afternoon.
-
June- I hope you had fun on your shopping expedition it sounds like fun. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Heather- I hear you on the health kick i'm on one too and its so hard with all the chocolate in the house. Every one bought for both girls so it really is disgusting the amount they got.
Dragonbub- DD1 used to love her playstation centre we got from target and we used it up until she was about 18 months. We nicknamed it 'the prison' as its so handy for when they are mobile and you want them to stay put if you are busy etc. For us it was a life saver. Molly has had a go in it but DD1 gets very jealous so for now it doesnt get used to much.
Well Molly is not very well :(. Starting to feel like we take it in turns in our house first DD1 then me last week and now Molly. I wonder if it will be DH's turn next week  Poor little thing has an upset tummy. We just got back from the Dr's and he suspects its a mild gastro bug. She cant keep down any thing and hasnt had a wet nappy since 6am this mo (it's now 2pm) I have been told as long as i try to feed her as often as poss just small amounts and as long as we have a wet nappy by midnight we are ok. For now she is well hydrated but i know little ones can turn really fast so i am keeping a close eye on her. She isnt miserable but is definately flat iykwim poor lil thing is trying to smile and be happy but is so tired. I am giving her 5mls of boiled water every half hour or so to keep her fluids up as she isnt interested in feeding really. I have had to change the cot sheets 3x since i got up this morning and my clothes twice. Even the couch got covered in sick and we also made a big mess in the waiting room at the Dr's :wall: I'm hoping that it doesnt go through the whole family milk sick isnt too bad but toddler vomit is more than i want to deal with. Well she's having a grumble and wanting a cuddle so i best go give her one
-
Hi Everyone,
Thought I would give a quick post before heading off to bed.. DH and DD are both out to it.. Have been naughty and still got Kimmy in our room, not in our bed though. As she is going to stay with my parents on Sunday for 2 nights, think I will keep her in our room till then. (it also has something to do with the fact that I couldn't be bothered remaking the spare bed!!).
We also had to put her on antibiotics for her cough. Seems to have travelled to her chest.. Not only was I concerned about the drugs so young, but I have severe allergy to penicillian so it was a real worry the 1st few doses. I can't actually give it to her as just being near her when she spits it out or trying to stick her fingers in my mouth after being in hers is enough to spark a reaction.. :wall: The last time I took it, my airways blocked and I passed out..
On a happier note, after my ramblings, I finally told work today that I'm not going back full time. Although they are very disappointed, they weren't shocked. One wants to keep me on part time, whereas the other doesn't. Will just have to wait and see on that one now.. I'm not worried either way.
Hoody - Hope that Molly is herself again and all is ok on that front  My brothers family has just been through a bug.. Each one coming down with it every 2 days. Hope we have managed to miss it.
June - hope the shopping was fun. I didn't make mothers group either. Kimmy had me up till 4 o'clock that morning and driving was out of the question.
Hope everyone else is keeping well. Might go and join both my darlings in the land of nod.. :p
-
Ok girls whats happening? Where is everyone? its getting quieter and quieter again i'm starting to get lonely :)
Heather- How's Kimmy's chest and cough now? I hope she is starting to improve for you its horrible when they are unwell.
Well Molly is on the mend. She had 24hrs of not keeping anything down and then 24hrs of the runs. Today she is back to feeding fine however still has a little bit of an upset tummy but we are almost over it. So far DD1 and DH have been fine. I had a rough night last night feeling like i was going to be sick and felt dreadful this morning. I had a lovely day sleep from 10-2 and woke up feeling good as new so i'm thinking maybe i was just way over tired. Molly is still been pretty good having about 5 feeds a day and most nights goes from 10.30-11ish til about 7 now so i cant complain. I havent had her weighed in a couple of weeks but i think she is just below 6kg now so her weight gain is coming along nicely. We went to the markets this arvo and she was good as gold. Wish i could say the same for my DD1 she has definately entered the terrible 2's. My supply is still an ongoing issue even on the Motilium (i think i have been a little too run down) so we are down to only 2 bf's a day and the rest formula. As much as i wanted to BF i feel i have done as much as i can and so far cutting back and doing both is working well she is alot more settled in the day and actually has proper sleeps now rather than been and insomniac or catnapper . I hope to keep the 2 BF's up so will keep you posted on how we go. So far she has had no trouble with the 2 so :crossfingers:
-
Hello girls!!
Sorry I've been a bit MIA lately - we went away for a week over easter (I thought I posted to let you know but I've been having trouble getting onto the site and posting so it may have gotten lost in cyber space) and have been busy, busy since we got back on Wednesday.
Things here are good. L is sleeping and feeding really well. The days of the one sleep cycle wonders during the day are officially behind us (I HOPE!!). I haven't had to resettle him during day sleeps for weeks now. He generally does 3x sleeps of 1.5-2hrs a day. He isn't sleeping through the night yet (not expecting that to happen till he's on solids now to be honest) but feeds quickly and settles back to sleep so I am not complaining. He feeds at about 1.30am then again at about 4.30/5am. Not too bad at all as far as I'm concerned. We're happy :)
We have had another trip the the hospital this week though - long story short, we had both munchkins in the bath and DS accidently got body wash in his eye. He broke out in a rash and his eye, nose and upper lip all swelled up so off we went to the after hours clinic at the hossy. He is OK, still has a bit of a red eye. We had to take him back to the GP for a follow up and I wasn't overly impressed with him - he said it was conjuncitvitis which he probably had before he got the body wash in his eye  OK moron, then how do you explain the fact his eye was perfectly fine before the body wash freaked it out and the fact that the dr at the hospital said it was an allergic reaction???
Anyway, he gave us drops and ointment and his eye has really cleared up, almost all better today. The swelling and rash disappeared pretty quickly but it freaked me out initially. Poor little fella has had more trips to the drs and hospital in (almost) 5 months than his sister has had in 3 years!
I can't believe he's nearly 5 months by the way...it's going soooooo fast!
Suse - I was so sorry to read about your dad's diagnosis. Your whole family must be devastated. I hope you and Euan get lots of time with him in the coming months.
Hoody - Sorry to hear you've had to reduce your bf's but my god, you have done an awesome job and gave it your absolute ALL!! There's nothing else you could have done. Sorry to hear you've all been unwell again but glad you're on the mend now. Poor little Molly, she's so tiny a tummy bug would really knock her around.
Big hello to everyone else, hope all are doing well. Will endeavour to do more personals next time when I've caught up a bit more!
-
Hi all!
Well things are really good here. Although Thomas has gone from sleeping all the way through til bout 4 or 5 to waking every 2.5 - 3 hours of a night. Really dont know why. He has feeds everytime he wakes. He usually settles with a dummy but not at the moment he wants a feed. Not sure if its a growth spurt or what... He has probably 3 - 4 sleeps of about 1 - 1.5 hours.
Thomas loves the Jolly Jumper. I still think he is getting teeth though. Poor thing just hasnt been himself and really munching on every piece of hard plastic or anything he can find. Still got a lot of extra dribble..
June78 - Thomas holds the mesh feeding thingy really good. He loves it!
Hoody - How is Molly feeling? Hope you are all feeling better
Willow - How is his rash and eye going? Doesnt sound like the GP had much of an idea...
Heather28 - We still have Thomas in our room. Only because we are staying at my parents and the spare room doesnt have a door and they have 2 cats! So he is still in our room in his cot. Thankfully though at the moment with him waking up so much throughout the night.
Hi to everyone else. Hope all is well!
-
Took L back to the GP today because the corner of his eye looked...I dunno...kinda lumpy? She's referred us to an eye specialist to have it checked out :( Soooo sick of taking him to see drs and trips to hospital, etc etc.
Holly - I see Thomas was a big boy at birth...how is he going now? I had L weighed today and he's up to 8.8kg and 70cm!! I'm not too worried because he is exclusively b'fed and there's not much I can do about it really but sometimes I freak out that if he doesn't slow down soon he's going to be massive!
L has been a bit unsettled at bed time the last few nights...i'm hoping the dreaded Teething Fairy (the evil twin sister of the Tooth Fairy LOL!) isn't about to visit...gotta happen eventually though I guess...
Still sleeping well during the day though thank god and woke at 1.30am for a feed and then slept through till 6am last night so hopefully he will be OK tonight....
-
Hello,
Well I am a bit lost tonight. Kimberley is at my parents house. Thankfully she is coming home tomorrow!! Mum said that she slept through for them, so I felt a little less guilty for leaving her there, and she is being her normal cheeky self. Only has any real signs of an infection 1st thing in the mornings now.
She bit her own arm the other day and screamed.. IF only I could make her understand that those teeth hurt. She is still trying to catch my finger to shove in there at any oppurtunity. Amazing how cunning she gets to try it..
Hoody, I know how much the BF means to you, but you have done the best you can. You stuck it out longer than most would've. I believe that any BF is better than none, so you are doing well. I can't give a full feed, but Kimberley loves having the comfort and getting what she can both morning and night..
I am off to bed now. The idea of a full week is killing me!!! Don't think I will agree in a hurry to help out again...
-
Hi Guys
Sorry I've been awol. Just busy at home. Trying to get cleaning done and that sort of thing. Nothing exciting.
Heather - I hope the antibiotics have kicked in ok. Must be pretty scary for you with the penicillin allergy. Lucky you have your folks around to help out. Fingers crossed that work do keep you on. It will be nice to have that stability!
Hoody - Mollys sleeps sound really good, especially at night. I know you wanted to keep up with the BF's, but you are doing the best you possibly can. You have been so strong about it. If Molly is happy then you should be too!!
Willow - god the rash and irritated eye must have been awful. Hopefully its all settled down now.
Holly84 - sounds like your growing boy is just growing. I'd just keep feeding him when he needs it.
Oh and Willow I know what you mean. I can't believe how quickly time has gone. Jacob will be 5 months next week and it just seems to have gone so quickly.
Hi Suse, Limeslice and Dragonbub - hope you and your bubs are going well.
Well thats it from me. Pretty boring I know.
Oh I took Jacob in to get weighed the other day and he is up to 7.8kgs!
-
Hello All,
Sorry have been MIA for a bit, busy doing "stuff" like uni and business stuff and a tiny bit of work but not too much.
Sooo many personals to catch up on, I am not sure how I will go.
Hoody - bummer about DD being sick. I hope all is better now? If it is not one then it is the other for you, :( Well done on the BFing so far, I agree with the others, you have done a wonderful job! It is great that you are still keen to keep up the feeds, but gee, you have surpassed brilliance in its most literal sense, you are a star!!
Willow - we missed you hun :D Sorry to hear about conjunc - silly doc, sometimes they don't know what they are talking about (or care for that matter). Glad to hear sleeps are good, and hoping a quick entry into the world for your little pearlers.
June - wow 7.8 kilos! Well done on a healthy bubba. My lil fella is around 8 ish, I will have to get him weighed soon. He has just had a growth spurt and shot up, so he is now 69 cm . He is looking a bit more proportional now and not such a "big" head LOL.
Heather - LOL about the biting pain! Caden sucks his thumb and has learnt pretty quickly that sucking and biting are mutually exclusive :) He bites his hand now, not his thumb. Eventually your DD will get it...
Holly - sounds like teeth all right. I am def thinking of getting a Jolly. I might pick one up this week. I also want a swing for outside, seems like something fun to get for a bit of fresh air. Is Thomas having big feeds when he wakes? If so it is probably just a growth spurt. If not, he might just need cuddles to go back to sleep. I guess it depends on how long it goes on as you are gonna get pretty exhausted if it continues!
Have I missed anyone?
Well, all good here. I think some top teeth might me moving cos we have had some interesting grizzling in the evening. Caden still sleeps, but will wake up crying then settle himself back down. This is VERY rare for him as once he goes down he normally doesn't make a sound. The top gum looks more protruding as well, and today it seemed a bit whiter.
June - was it your DS that had top teeth? How long after the bottom teeth did the tops come through? Caden has had the bottoms now for a month...
Anyhoo will catch up soon (more often) now that I am freer :D
-
Dragonbub- I hope the teeth calm down soon but WTG Caden for settling himself if he wakes up.
June- 7.8kg wow thats great you must have some really good booby juice
Heather- How did you go with your night without Kimberly? My Mum is having both of my girls over night on Saturday and i'm so anxious about leaving them. At least i will be there to put them both to bed then i'm picking them up b4 10am so its not too bad but still hard leaving Molly for so long buth ey now she is having both BB and formula i can have a night off.
Willow- Sorry to hear about Logan's eye. I really hope its settled down and all fine now. I remember getting a full squirt of baby shampoo into DD1's eye and that was bad enough without a reaction to it  Sounds like you have a big boy too at over 8kg.
Holly- I hope your nights are improving again if not yet in week or 2 the frequent feeds will be a distant memory.
SUse, Twinsis, Limeslice and anyone i've missed hope you are all well.
Well i am pleased to announce we are all healthy  For the first time since the beginning of March we are a happy healthy household! We did have a rough weekend with DD1 been bitten by a spider and DH getting the tummy bug that went through the family but for now we are good  i hope it stays this way. Molly is 100% over her bug and is back to her normal self. I am amazed at how happy and content she is now that she is having formula along with her BF's. I always thought i had an unsettled baby but i think with my supply issues she must have just been starving all the time as the change in her has been like night and day. In the last week or so she also looks like she is starting to stack on the weight which is nice at last. Everytime anyone asks how old she is i get the comments 'oh but she's so tiny blah blah blah. I am having a body shop party here on Friday night with all my friends with kids and also the girls from playgroup, Then out all night on Saturday for a friends birthday so we have a nice busy weekend ahead of us. Well hope you are all well.
-
Hello all! Sorry I've not come by sooner to say hi, I was going through a bit of a rough spot with some stomach issues and stuff, but my doctor is sorting me out and I'm finally starting to feel better. You've all been busy! Glad to read you are all doing well.
I was naughty the last week and a half. I let Cameron sleep in bed with us as I found him comforting while I was feeling so poorly, and he's been trying hard to get over yet another cold poor guy. He had been sleeping 8-10 hours overnight in his crib, but my letting him sleep in our bed dropped that back down to 5-7. So now I have to get him used to being in his crib and longer stretches of sleep again.
I signed him up for swim classes starting in May and I'm getting really excited to take him. I bought him THE cutest little swim suit! DH and I are going to take him to the pool tomorrow for his first "swim". I want to get him used to it before his class starts. Should be a lot of fun.
The weather here has been gorgeous so I'm trying to go out with Cam for walks everyday. I've met a few other moms here so the loneliness I've been feeling is much better. It feels great to finally have some adult company again!
In 3 weeks we're headed down to Vancouver to visit the grandparents then I'm going to Calgary to visit my sister. I was dreading it when my stomach was acting up but now I'm getting really excited!!
-
Hi all,
not sure what happened with my last post. I am positive that when I wrote mine the previous two weren't there. Sorry if it looked like I had ignored them.
DH took the day off work today and the three of us went into the city and saw the Andy Warhol exhibition. It was great fun and Jacob loved all the colours and big paintings. We even got our photos taken in a booth that does them up like the coloured Marilyn Monroe pictures that he did. Very cool! Jacob discovered that the gallery was very echoy though and decided that squealing at the top of his lungs was hilarious fun. We got a few raised eyebrows, but most people laughed at us as we tried to quieten him down.
Willow - we had an almost identical night the other night, only up once. Although last night he was up twice again. Maybe one day..... I do hope you get some good news with the eye specialist. Hopefully it will work itself out.
Well looks like everyone is having teething going on. Hopefully it isn't too disruptive. Dragonbub - it wasn't us with the top teeth. We still only have one through (bottome canine) and I'm really not sure when the twin of it will make an entrance, as its been almost two months now.
Hoody - so happy that everyone is healthy in your house. I am praying that it continues for you.
Oh and congrats on those of you that are going out or having nights without your bubs!!
Twinsis - Have fun with swimming lessons. I have had Jacob in the pool a couple of times and its hilarious. The first time he was very serious and didn't move much but after a couple of goes he goes a little crazy. Splashing everywhere!! Glad you are meeting some people, it really helps to meet up and have conversations with others adults!!
Hope everyone else is having a good time.
Oh by the way we have tried pumpkin and sweet potato and they are going down really well. We might try apple tomorrow.
-
Hi to all - sorry for being extremely MIA for so long, although I'm sure you all understand why! Thanks so much for your support and very kind thoughts - it means a lot.
Sorry too for not doing personals - too much to tackle in one go - but sounds like everybody's bubbas are all going great (if we don't count teething!!).
I think that I (along with Hoody), have the tichy bubba of the group now - Euan was only 6.29kg at his weigh in last week (at 17 weeks/4 months), which was only a gain of 480gm in the last 5 and a half weeks. But he made up for it by growing a lot in length - he is now 67cm! He is the tallest of all the bubbas in our mum's group, and one of the lightest! I'm not worried - he is for the most part happy and content, and seems to be developing as he should, his dad is tall and skinny, so it's not like there's no explanation for it. The doctor wasn't worried either, even though he dropped a couple of percentiles, he just said that they'd keep an eye on his weight when they weigh him at the next immunisation in two months.
We are slowly but surely getting teeth - nothing has come through yet but we've had grizzling, chewing and bucketloads of drool. And we have had the occasional night with him up three or more times - gee they hit hard! Not used to getting up in the night anymore! The way they are going they will take months to come through - he's been doing this for a month or so now! And he is almost rolling over, he gets onto his side but just can't quite make it all the way over. He wriggles all over the mat doing 360 degree turns - I turn for a minute and he is pointing in the opposite direction. He's laughing lots and has started to squeal, and is getting very good with his hand/eye co-ordination, (he can poke his hand in his eye extremely well LOL!!), he will roll onto his side to reach and grab things if I put them next to him and is getting quite good dexterity (well, I think so anyway, and I'm not biased at all!!!)
Euan not only coped with four plane flights in less than two weeks, but did brilliantly. The first one I was a bit worried about, figured that I would have screaming baby the entire flight, as his teeth were giving him grief and I was travelling alone, but he was great. Cheeky though, kept smiling at all of the flight attendants, they loved him. Little flirt! No mile high club for you yet sonny boy!!
Hope all is well, will try to do personals next time but just wanted to check in and let everyone know how we are doing. Things are not too good with my dad - they are going to try chemo to see if they can give him a bit of time, but it is looking like they may not even get to do that, he might be too weak to handle the chemo. All we can do is hope I guess.
