Suse- so glad to hear you are doing as well as can be expected i have been thinking of you lots. It sounds like Molly and Euan are pretty much at the same stage etc not quite rolling but trying etc. I'm in no hurry BTDT and once they are more mobile its more work ;)

Twinsis- Ohhh swimming how exciting i loved taking DD1 but i dont think i can this time its too hard with 2 DD1 would be trying to get in the pool to :cryinglaugh: SO glad to hear you arent as lonely now and getting some much needed adult company.

June- You sound like you had a lovely day out- i'm envious ;)

Well i had Molly weighed yesterday and my little feather weight is up to 5.6kg so lighter than i thought but i'm not complaining we are getting lots of wear out of our 000 clothing :D Molly had a very rough day today but i dont know why and my new theory is she's only human after all so she's allowed to get grumpy too and we all have our bad days. DD1 has been a grumble bum too so i've had my hands full but now they are both fed, bathed and fast asleep they are been angels :cryinglaugh: I am a bit sore though i think i have broken my toe :wall: i was vacuuming and the bed jumped out and got me, i swear i didnt kick it. I'm not going to go to Dr's there is nothing they can do (i've broken toes b4) i am just hobbling around looking like a goose with a big fat purple toe :doh: I have strapped it to the one nexted to it and will see how i go tomo. Should be interesting i'm babysitting for a friend so i will have a 3 and 1/2 yo, a 2yo and Molly- i must be mad. Well take care everyone.

June - ha ha that's hilarious about Jacob squealing in the gallery. Cameron too has discovered he can squeal and when he gets excited it can be pretty ear piercing.

Suse - we're in the same teething boat as you. He's been working on them for awhile now but so far none have broken through yet.

Hoody - Congrats on the weigh in. I'm sure you're sick to death of people telling you how tiny Molly is but 000 clothing WOW!!! My husband and I are both 6" tall so our newborn clothes didn't last long and Cameron was into 6 month sleepers by the time he was 2 months old. I'm sick to death of people telling me how big he is LOL.

We took Cameron to the pool last night and it was so much fun. Cameron looked so adorable in his little swimsuit with his little chubby belly! He wasn't too sure at first what was going on but I think he enjoyed himself. I know DH and I sure did. I can't wait to take him again

Cameron just mastered rolling over too. Up until now he would only roll over after a lot of fussing and it would happen almost by accident, but Tuesday he just all of a sudden figured it out and now as soon as I put him on his belly he rolls himself over and looks up at me all proud of himself. Sooo cute!

OMG, OMG - he rolled over - when neither DP or I were looking! Sneaky little bugger!

I popped him down on his back on the mat for a minute, and when I walked past again a minute later he was on his front. I just figured that DP had rolled him over, (he was on the computer, but was right next to Euan), and DP thought that I'd put him down on his tummy, and it wasn't until a few minutes later that we clicked that he'd rolled from his back to his front.

Now all we've got to do is get him to repeat the trick when we're watching. :rolleyes:

June - I have done that a few times, written a big note with lots of personals, then gone back later to check where my last entrance was, and it wasn't there. V frustrating :( What a good little man at the exhibition. LOL about the people looking, but you get that don't you? We have tried sweet potato, baby cereal, apple, avocado, and banana, as well as a little tongue taste of some melon. He LOVES it and finishes the whole lot most days. I am not sure what he likes more, the food, him grabbing my hand and feeding himself, or chewing on the spoon afterwards! Oh, he is also partial to sticking his apple/banana/avocado flavoured thumb in his mouth and sucking on that too...

Suse - LOL about the little flirt! Great that he did so well on the plane, that must have been a relief on top of everything. I hope the chemo works, or at least he gets the chance to give it a try. My uncle passed away just at the end of last year and he was having radiation, not chemo. He pretty much decided enough was enough and that he wanted his life to end under his terms. Again, it is no consolation, but my thoughts and wishes are with you and your family.

Hoody - woohoo on the "better bub". It is so great when they are settled and happy (but mainly healthy). Sounds like she is putting on weight nicely now, which is really wonderful.

Twinsister - I agree, I am sick of people telling me how big Caden is. I mean, they don't even know how old he is and they say "wow, what a big baby!". I mean, what if I told them he was a year old? Would they think he was big then? It is funny how sensitive you can be to people's comments. One lady the other day commented on Caden sucking his thumb, she said "oh, that's cute, but you can throw a dummy away you know, you'll be stuck with the thumb forever". I mean, excuse me! Did I ask for her opinion? Caden wants to suck his thumb, he sucks his thumb! :D

AS for us, we get some roll overs, but mainly when he is on his tummy to go back onto his back. He still is not too fond of tummy time, but still seems to be building up his strength. Caden can sit for a bit by himself now, with me acting as support. He likes sitting up and is always straining at his car seat belt, and the pram harness to sit up more. It is like he does mini-situps. Cute! It is just that he is not yet strong and stable enough to do it on his own, so he has to be frustrated a little while longer I think. Everything is going pretty well here. LOVE the cloth nappies, will get some more soon. Have had a couple of hours of work doing some arty stuff, so have earned a few extra $. And that is all really!

Sorry it has been a while.. I did a full week at work last week and it sucked. Kimmy was at Mum & Dad's for 2 nights and we missed her like crazy :( Don't think I will do another full week.. Won't do personals as it seems forever since I posted.

Hoody/Suse - I have a small bub here too.. 5.2kgs at her 4 month injections.. 000 still fit her nicely, but in the occasional 00 for nighttime comfort (she is very long). I am so used to the strange looks and comments when people learn her age, but as our little ones are all healthy, size doesn't really matter. We have a huge mop of hair that always attracts attention on the 1st place, and daycare are now putting it in pigtails (so cute).

Kimberley is now on the move.. Not crawling, but rolling her way around the loungeroom. So in the process of making sure that there is nothing to harm her.. So far she turns back when she gets the tiles cause they are a bit cold. Had her on a mattress about an inch think at my parents house (They are in the process of getting carpet down) and she kept rolling off that.. Don't think it was enough space to keep her amused. So unfortutately I no longer have the luxery of putting her down on the floor, and her still being in the same spot, while I do things. I am hoping that all the moving will make her tired enough to sleep through the day :crossfingers:

Well have better get moving and get dinner on.. Hope all are going well...

Heather - wow your lil gal sure is a mover! Caden is yet to really move around. He likes his back more, so if I put him on his tummy now he just rolls over. I think he has realised that he can cover a certain distance this way tho, so hopefully he will do the rolling soon.

Just a whinge - my GF said that Caden was an "awful" baby today :( I was quite upset and had a bit of a cry about it. I mean, he is unsettled sometimes, but take today for instance, he fell asleep in the car going to a pal's house, had fun there and didn't whinge, then fell asleep coming home, and now is in bed sleeping. I mean, I think he is pretty good? He sleeps through the night and goes to sleep on his own so I dont' have to rock him. I think it is maybe because every time she calls he is crying, or if I take him to visit her. But it is normally evening when I visit and he has his grumpy hour between 5-6 o'clock. Is this normal? Is my baby awful, or simply just a normal (if slightly more of a handful) bubba?

No more griping, off to get dinner on.

Dragonbub - just a quickie because I'm in the middle of cooking dinner - I'd tell your friend to shove it up her bum!! What a thing to say. I'd convince him to projectile vomit all over her face next time you see her, that would show her awful. (BTW, Caden sounds like a completely normal bub to me).

I agree with Suse, tell your girlfriend to shove her comments like that.. Does she have kids?? Anyhow, the things you mention sound perfectly normal. If we are out at someones house about 6.30 - 7.00 at night, Kimberley will start screaming till she gets a long jumpsuit and a sleeping bag on. She will even reject the bottle unitl she has her night comforts on (and although I don't hear screams often from her, she can put on a show when she wants to)

So don't stress, Caden sounds like a typical baby to me! If she thinks like that, it is possible he is sensing some negativity and gets worked up when she is around.

Anyhow off to have dinner in peace as it looks like Kimberley has finally gone to sleep and DH is at work.

Just a quickie its getting late and i'm knackered hopefully i will be able to post properly tomo :)

Dragonbub- What a dreadful thing for your friend to say. I hope you told her how her comment upset you and if you didnt then you should. It sounds to me like your lil man is perfect (well as perfect as any baby can be ;) )

A big woo hoo Molly actually slept from 6.30pm til 7.30am last night instead of our normal 10-5 or 6. I had a mini panic attack when i woke and realised it had been so long and thought the worst but no my angel was just sleeping. Not holding my breath for it to happen again tonight though but i can hope. Might be getting a puppy tomo but will see how she interacts with DD1. Friends need to get rid of her and she is only 17wks old and i am a sucker for pups. Had a bit of a giggle though she will fit right in her name is Maggie so along with Molly and DD1 (Mia) i will have a house full of m&m's. Just imaging Mia, Molly and Maggie :p

Dragonbub - your friend is an eejit. If Caden is "awful", L must be "atrocious"!! He does NOT sleep through the night, is PRETTY good during the day and self settles MOST of the time but he's no champion sleeper by any stretch and the days of him playing on the floor content and happy for the whole of his awake times are OVER! (I'm blaming teeth :cool:)

Still, I think for a 5 month old baby he's totally normal! Tell your friend to get a life...

Sorry been MIA for a while ...DF has been back this week (left again today) and been trying to sought out buying a house and DD has an Ear Infection!! lol Oh, and we're teething properly I think...real ouchy stuff!!

At least you are getting a lot of wear out of the 000...Charlotte can still fit into 0000 and 000 tops, but she is already getting too long for 00 longies :( I have 4 different sizes on the go and its a PITA - poor DF cant keep up!!

Dragonbub: "Extend your arm....extend your middle finger..." Caden sounds perfectly normal to me - why would she say such a thing to your face?? Not cool!

Heather: Sorry you were without your darling DD for 2 nights! I don't know how you did it...good on you for trying with the full work week though, very strong. Good to hear Molly has the good sense to stay off the cold tiles too - smart girl lol

Twin Sis: Go the adult company!! lol must be a relief to be able to get out and meet new people. Hope the trip to Vancouver goes well too, I'm sure you will be fine.
Haven't been game to take Charlotte to the pool yet, but got her a couple of swim nappies so hopefully will get down there in the next week, you ladies with the swimming bubbas have encouraged me!


So Charlotte has an ear infection. Took her to the nurse on Monday arvo and she had look and said she couldn't figure out why Charlotte was sweating inexplicable, but sounded like it could be a virus. Then C started screaming right as we left and didn't stop for 3 hours...finally went out and got some panadol after the teething relief didn't work, still crying so took her to the hossie (after a frantic phone call to my mum - the nurse)- fearing she may have a UTI or something (wee was a little smelly, or was it the nappy?!?) After waiting 5 - yes FIVE - hours to be seen by the doctor, he had a look in her ears and said the nurse was an idiot, her right ear was really red inside, but he didn't want to give her antibiotics since it didn't seem really bad yet, just wait and see. So struggled home at 1am and got her to sleep for a couple of hours (poor thing was just sooo exhausted!) then she woke at 3.30am and then every half hour after that, so she slept with us and I just keep her on the breast, hoping the antibodies would kick in!
She has been much better today, back in her cot tonight too, so thats good, but she woken 3 times crying since 10pm :( poor little girl....its so distressing to see her in pain with not much to do about it except cuddle her and the occasional dose of panadol
Scared the living hell out of me though - shes never been sick or even cried like that before, only ever even had collic once too so it was completely new to us....SO glad DF was here at the time, don't know how I would've coped by myself, so at least that was a blessing!

Had her weighed at the nurse as well, up to 6.3kgs now, skinny minnie, although shes slowed in the length dept, she is only 64 cm still, only 1cm in the last month. Phew!! means I can hold off on the 0 jumpsuits for a dew more weeks! lol Not even 5 months old and already on 9-12 month old clothes!

She has been sleeping really well though (aside the infection) only really waking once in teh night to feed, and some nights just a couple of crying re-settles, so I am expressing at night just to make sure my supply doesn't drop....not going to welcome back AF anytime soon *fingers crossed anyway*
We are still only rolling front to back, which is good - not going too far, but still doing the circles lol so funny to see her "swimming" on the floor!! Starting to get he hang of sleeping on her back too, which is nice (much easier to put down sleeping baby on to the back, rather than the tummy!! hehehe

Getting myself a sewing machine too...going to start making some nappies etc for her and some aprons/smock etc for a few GF...hopefully might turn it into a lil business *watch this space!!* YAY!

Charlotte appears to be getting hungrier, but trying to maintain exclusive BF until 6 months...cant believe I have been feeding her for 5 months almost!
They are getting so big *sobs*

Well, I think that is everything - well done if you made it this far!

Sorry I have been MIA. I have just busy around the house. We have been having a few sleep battles during the day too, so I have been trying to get naps in when I can.

Suse - sending you lots of positive thoughts hun. So glad to hear Euan is being good for you with all the travelling, its one less stress for you. Wow he is long, thats great.

Hoody - honestly it just doesn't stop for you does it. A broken toe?? Whats next? I am sending you positive thoughts and hoping for something nice!! Oh I just read through your last post - a big sleep through. See thats your nice thing you have been waiting for (and well and truly deserve). Have to laugh at your three M's. We were looking at naming Jacob with something starting with M, but we have two dogs, Max and Mardy and decided against it.

Twinsister - So glad you had fun with swimming. Its so funny watching them experience something new like that. They aren't sure about it at first, but you wait and see what he is like after a few more goes. I was looking at swimming lessons the other day, but they are just so expensive. Wish there were some indoor heated pools around here that I could go to. Not sure what I will do as its getting a little cold for outdoor pools.

:clap: Big congrats to all the bubs that are rolling. Jacob is leaning way over to grab things but refuses to roll that bum over (it is pretty heavy, so I can understand it). Actually I don't want him to roll. I like knowing where he will be if I go out of the room.

Dragronbub - we will have to try avocoda and banana too. Pear is the flavour of the week at the moment!! As for your GF, tell her to *&#% off!! Honestly where do people get off. Caden is perfectly normal. 5-6pm is pretty ratty in our house, but thats just what bubs do. They are tired after a long day. For them its like our 11pm. We are tired and cranky by then too. I would hope people would be a little bit more understanding.

Heather - i don't know how you did it, 2 nights without Kimberely. Did you wake up looking for her?

Limeslice - good to see you back. Might have to check the arcades out myself. I see there is tetris, love tetris. Hope the antibiotics kicks in soon. I am thinking of you. Just keep dishing out those cuddles. As for AF, mine came back last week and I was not happy at all. Even though we have introduced a few solids, his milk feeds haven't reduced so I wasn't expecting it back for awhile. Ah well, not much I can do about it now. Oh and Jacob is hungrier at the moment too, seems to be normal around this age.

Well as for us things seem to be settling down at night which is good. jacob is sleeping through after his 6pm feed unil 11 or 12, then up around 4am for another feed. He usually goes back to sleep for a little while. We did have a few 5am starts which I wasn't very happy about, but I have persisted in getting him back to sleep and he seems ok. Have stopped dreamfeeding him as I found he was waking up before it and still waking up a few times overnight so I wasn't really gaining anything. Plus if he goes through until 11 or 12 I can get him babysat and we don't have to worry about him needing a feed while we are out, as he still refuses a bottle (EBM or formula) very, very frustrating :wall::wall: Mum and dad are coming over to look after him tomorrow night as we are going out to dinner with some friends. My first evening outing without him.!!

June- You are right for the last couple of months it does feel like it is always something in our house. Honestly the toe hurts and is inconveniant but i am fine. I had 2-3 days of limping but i can walk normally now and am fine as long as i am in thongs. When DD1 treads on my foot though i jump like you wouldnt believe. The nice sleep through lasted 2 nights then went out the window so my nice thing was short lived :cryinglaugh:

Limeslice- I'm hearing you on all the diff sizes on the go. We are still in some 0000's and in 00 grow suits as when they have feet attached they arent long enough. For the majority of the time we are in 000's. I quite like it as most of Molly's clothes are DD1's hand me downs and its a shame when they grow so fast and dont get the use. I quite like the thought that the clothes are been worn for more than one or 2 wears iykwim.

Willow- You are certainly right nothing shabbyu about m&m's i now have 3 of them ;)

We are doing pretty well as i posted earlier Molly had one really good night of sleeping through 7pm- 7am and i was suprised the next night was the same but the long sleeps where short lived (only 2 nights all the way through then it was back to 7pm- about 3 or 4) lastnight however was a diff story and 3-4hrly all the way through so who knows what tonight will hold. I guess its like a lucky dip. Poor lil thing though has a bit of a cold thanks to DD1 sharing her lovely germs :rolleyes: Nothing major just lots of snot and a cough which i think is responsible for our frequent wakes last night. We also have a new addition to the family a 17 or 18 week old puppy beagle x ****er spanial. So far so good she has been to puppy school and very well behaved. She jsut loves the girls and doesnt bother too much with them apart from when DD1 plays a bit rough then she will jump up at her, i am trying to teach DD1 that she is an animal not a toy :rolleyes: Its quite funny though i keep calling Molly Maggie and Maggie Molly- seriously too many m's in this house :p Well hope you are all enjoying your weekends.

Thanks so much for your great words of wisdom and support. It is not nice to hear that your bub is "awful" but glad to hear he is normal! yes, she does have kids of her own, and they are great, but they are also handfuls in their own right. Maybe you just forget how bad they were in time? i think she might have!

Hoody - great about the sleep, hopefully more of the same will occur. M&Ms, how cute!

June - Cool about the solids. Will be starting pear, carrot and pumpkin next few weeks.

LimeSlice - bummer about ear infection. Poor bubba! Keep us posted on your "business" - would love to get into the whole cloth thing a bit more, and definitely find a cheaper alternative. I am trying to organise to advertise portraits (am very good artist) as a means of earning some $ so watch this space also!

Willow - yeah those teeth are mean! I think we have top ones moving at the mo. I told my dentist the other day that I got teeth at 4 months and wisdoms at 15, which she said is very young. i think I must be an early teether, and Caden looks like he is taking after me!

Heather and Suse - thanks for your comments - made me laugh :D you are right tho, the main thing is to focus on your bub only, not how everyone elses are doing. They all have their good (and bad) points after all. Thanks for reminding me!

As for us (no AF here by the way, am enjoying its absence immensely!) - took Caden to docs the other day. Measuring in at 69 cm, 8.5 kg and HC of 46 cm. So length and HC around 90% and weight at 75%. Doc not worried about bigger head, he wanted to take Caden home he thought he was that great! Nice pick me up after rude comments by my GF. Got 6 month birthday coming up soon, can't believe it has gone so fast. That also means nasty immunisations, so not looking forward to next Friday :(

Lately Caden has not wanted his full bottle at night. Then he wakes up anywhere from 3 to 5 for a feed. Tonight he was trying to reach for the Doritos we were munching on, so I decided to give him some sweet potato and cereal. Couldn't believe it, he ate the lot! After not wanting milk to eating about a tablespoons worth of food! Maybe this will mean solids for dinner from now on, though I really will miss the evening milk. I might consider giving him dinner then topping him up just before bed with breastmilk from now on so we get a cuddle. LimeSlice - I totally agree *sniff* they are growing up so fast!

Hello all! I keep coming here and reading all your updates, but the little monkey has been teething and not wanting to be put down so typing responses has been too hard. No teeth have come through yet but he's been pink cheeked and fussy like crazy. He's been waking more frequently in the night too (gone are my 8-10 houirs stretches of sleep) Thank-god for tylenol (for both of us LOL!)

Swimming has been going great, he loves the water. We even took him to the hotsprings (they have a hot pool and a warm pool) and he loved that even more! He rolled from his back to his tummy and then back over again yesterday and he was sooo proud of himself. We're not trying solids yet for another month (after we get back from holidays). I still think you are all so brave. My doctor said we could start cereal now but my public health nurse agreed with me about waiting until 6 months. He's not grabbing for my food yet so there's no rush. I am looking forward to it though. He's got his immunizations on Tuesday, i'm sooo not looking forward to them after the way he cried last time!!

Um, all well here, think we've hit another growth spurt because he's been feeding constantly and waking at night again. Last night was good because he slept from 11 till 7 but the nights prior to that have been a bit ordinary. He's been so funny lately, talk about Mr Giggles. And he sounds like a baby dolphin with his squeaks and squeals. Someone was asking about clothes sizes - he's in 0 pants and some 00 (partly because he has a cloth bum, partly because he's tall and skinny), but can still fit 00 and some 000 tops. He grows out of the length of bodysuits well before the width, some I convert into t-shirts so they last him longer!

Ah bum, he's waking up, was just about to start personals... waah, waaah, better go...

Ok well I am in shock. Today I am making a big effort to start Jacob self-settling. He is sleeping well when he goes down, but we have always rocked him to sleep then put him in his cot. Sometimes he is half asleep and settles in the cot, but never wide awake. My back can not handle it anymore! Well I got some advice and I just put him in his cot and he self-settled in 7 minutes. :clap::clap: Not sure if this will ever happen again, but I am so happy for him. Well after one successful go I am now a bit happier to keep going. I was just worried we would have hours of a screaming baby!!! I wonder if it will make any difference to his night time waking or whether I will still be up twice a night to feed.

In other news, we have turned the car seat around, so he is now facing forward and he loves it. Thinks he is pretty special being able to look at us from the back now. Oh and the tooth that he cut at 3 months has gone back into his gum :wall: So we will have to go through that one again. Oh and our night out went really well. Mum was more than happy to look after Jacob and when I got home she was cuddling him in the rocking chair. He wasn't awake, she was just enjoying cuddles!

Hoody - Oh how exciting about the puppy. Its great she has been trained as that is one less thing you have to worry about. I think its so good for kids to grow up with animals. We have two big dogs 6 and 7 years old who just love Jacob to bits.

Dragonbub - i would be led by Caden in terms of food. I am sure that if you give him "dinner" that he will still want a night time feed from you. So you can still get the cuddles. Jacob has now started whinging for his solids and keeps opening his mouth up like a little bird the whole time. And when its finished he whinges because he wants more. I am resisting increasing the amount too much, but he is now having food twice a day. I can't believe how keen he is. If he didn't want it I wouldn't give it to him. I guess we just have to let them guide us a bit. Oh and to put a photo on your ticker not all the sites will let you do it, but if you go to the link thats on my ticker you can go through the steps to set one up and right at the end it asks if you want to attach a pic. Would love to see Caden.

Twinsister - Hope the immunisations weren't too painful. As for being brave with the solids, as I just wrote with Dragonbub I am letting Jacob be my guide. My feeling is that if he wasn't ready he wouldn't be eating everything that he can lay his hands on. Obviously I am being careful and introducing things slowly. No-one is more surprised than me how well he has taken to it (seeing how he isn't all that keen on change in so many other areas). It is fun when they are enjoying it, although it now means it is soemthing else I have to take when we go out :doh: Also in terms of allergies and food intolerances I feel fairly safe with vegies and fruit, but its never foolproof.

Suse - PMSL at the baby dolphin! I hadn't thought of that description.

Limeslice - god I don't have a crafty bone in my body. I depend on talented people on you so I can buy things!!

June - congrats on the self-settling. We went through this at 12 weeks on account of Caden being the devil-child :D He is sooo much better now and lots of other mums in my mothers group are having the same issues as we had back then. I think it is better to do it sooner rather than later, cos then you don't have a willful child to battle with (save those stubborn tears for later). I personally think consistency is the key. I rock Caden to sleep sometimes if we are out and about and there is no where for him to sleep except for in my arm, but at home he just goes straight into his cot.

As for feeding, yeah, I think in a few months time I will wonder what all the fuss was about, but at the mo it seems a little tricky judging times to feed etc. I don't want him filling up on solids and dropping too many milk feeds, cos I simply just love feeding and want to do it forever! LOL. I guess I should just let him lead the way, at least that is what he would have decided is best for him. It is funny how you take things for granted - some other mums I know are having difficulty with solids, bubs just don't want to eat any and spit it out. I am grateful that my lil fella is a gobble-guts, at least that is one less thing to be concerned about I guess :)

Suse - wow with the O's! Caden is in 00s mostly, but can squeeze him into some Osh Kosh 000s cos they are quite generous (and cute). I have cut the feet out of some overalls and suits to allow a better fit, some just make them too stocky, and he has just had a length-spurt. LOL about the Baby Dolphin sounds, maybe he is communicating to another life force? heh heh.

As for us, very good week so far. Still had a 5 am feed, but then he went back down til 9.30 so I got a sleep in. I think the teeth have taken a reprieve for the time being so might have a few good days to go hopefully.

Well, better go express some milk before the little tyke wakes up.

We have trying a few things here too :dance:.

Finally decided Kimmy weighed and measured. She is 5.9kg with clothes on so probably about 5.7kg when naked.. She is 64 cm. we had Kimmy to the dr today to check on her cough after me being awake all night and DD & DH sleeping through it. I do wonder how we can cough and still stay asleep. I was up till about 1 this morning as I was worrried about it despite her sleeping so soundly :(

We have been trying some solids here too. Kimberley won't drink more milk in a feed, but was wanting to feed every 2 and 1/2 to 3 hrs through the day :wall:.. So far we have enjoyed pears, apples and sweet potato. We are buying organic fruit and veges and pureeing it here and freezing. My husband is a different person when it comes to his little girl, he would never have been caught in an organic shop before :rolleyes: (and that wasn't meant to offend anyone, but my husband just doesn't do shopping, especially if it means going out of his way!)

I have also tried the self settling and letting Kimberley cry when getting her to sleep in the day. I have never really forced her as she was sleeping through the night, but have found out that she will sleep for everyone except me & DH. IT seems to be going ok (after the 1st time when I was crying cause she was crying). We have to use a light sleeping bag, but it works for us. Last night I had to go out about 6.30 to pick my grandmother up from the airport and left DH to get her to bed. She was wide awake when he put her down, and she was asleep without any crying about 15 mins later.. Here's hoping we are getting some routine, and she is getting the hang of this self settling. :pray:

Kimmy has a whopping head of hear (think it makes a fair bit of her weight!!), and daycare have been tying it up in pigtails.. So cute, making her look more like a girly girl. I am not girly, but think I will have to start as it really suits her..

We have Kimberley's baptism down for mothers day. Should be a good day and seems that I am going to have more family here than I planned. Can see a tent going up for all the unsober boys to sleep in. :D

June - you aren't totally biased, he is a little cutie (much more so in person!!) I don't think any of the photos do just for any of our little ones!!

Hoody - Yay on the dog.. We are looking at getting one after we go away in July, DH wants to kidnap my parents bitser, but I have said no!! Hope the long sleeps come back soon..

Dragonbub - I have read that we should be giving solids after a milk feed as an extra while introducing them, but I am a bit backward in that.. Kimmy is still getting plenty of milk though, but I am missing the BF of a night as she is getting quite full after an afternoon solid snack and the bedtime bottle, she is falling asleep before the BB (yep I am a bit backward in that too, but it is more a comfort thing than a feed in our case). :(

Limslice - when you have created some crafty stuff, let us know!! Am always interested in homemade things...

Suse - I get so frustrated with clothes when I have kimmy in cloth. I think they should make 2 sizes (cloth & disposbale bums), like they do for us, tall or short. You must get frustrated with the multiple sizing to compensate..

Twinsister - :clap: on the swimming. Haven't been brave enough yet. I am not a big water baby so am holding off till spring.. Will definately have her learn thoguh..

Willow - hope you are keeping well.

WTG girls i like coming in to see lots of posts :clap:

We are doing very well. Molly still has a very chesty cough from her cold but otherwise is fine. I had her weighed today and my lil baby is 5.88kg and 65cm long. She is still going to bed at 7pm and waking up for a feed about 3ish then back to bed til about 8 unless disturbed by DD1 who likes to go in and wake "her bubby". DD1 is getting so good with her and just loves to feed her a bottle and insists on changing her bum with minimal help from me. Everything takes us twice if not 3 times as long as it should but i just love seeing DD1 interact with her its just too cute for words. If i put her in the car 1st she cries and frets for Molly and insists on trying to cuddle her when she cries. I only hope they stay as close through the years. Molly is still only rolling from back to tummy and not all that often so she is still pretty immobile. I have bought her a walker and she loves to sit in it and watch me in the kitchen. Still havent started solids but she hasnt showed interest and i'm just too lazy. I have bought some rice cereal so will start in the coming week or so. I can just imagine though that once she starts DD1 will be trying to feed her everything.

Heather- My DD1 had a head full of hair and from about 4 months always had it in pigtails it was just too cute. She is just over 2 now and its halfway down her back. SHe has blonde curls and she attracts so much attention for it. The only frustrating thing is everyone assumes with all her hair she is alot older so they expect more from her. Molly on the other hand isnt bald but her hair is quite short and so far is dark and straight. It amazes me how diff each one is and its so special but i miss my baby with a full head of hair. You must be very proud of it.

Dragonbub- with regards to feeding i agree in a few months you will wonder why you stressed but TBH as you said just go with what Caden appears to need/want. I hope when we start that Molly will be a gobble guts too at least then you arent stressing about getting them to eat. :D

June- Yay on the self settling in 7 minutes i hope it continues for you. Wow at turning the car seat around, mind you i have a friend who has a nov bub and she turned hers around a few weeks ago. Molly is still in a capsule but its getting heavy so i think i will put her car seat in soon but i will leave it rearward for a bit as she is still only little.

Suse- lol at the soundling like a dolphin it is pretty amazing the sounds they come out with. :)

Twinsis- Glad the swimming is going well i'm a bit envious i would love to take Molly but too hard on my own whilst i have DD1. I hope the immunisations went smoothly.

Limeslice- I hope Charlotte is all better for you i can relate to how scary it is when they are sick. :hug: to you all esp her.

Well, Caden had his 6 month birthday yesterday, how amazing! Can't believe we have had him for six months. In some ways it seems like forever, and other days it feels like it was only yesterday that I brought him home wondering WTF to do with him!

Hoody - wow your lil gal is growing so big already :D Great that she rolls over from back to tum. Caden is a tummy to back fella, although today he rolled back onto his tum again. I think when he starts crawling he will do it on his bottom, not his tummy cos he hates it.

Heather - another big girl! they are getting so big aren't they? I agree with you, take it as it comes I guess. I was reading a book on routines and she pretty much suggests dinner (solid) at 5, then a milk top up before bed at 7. I might give this a go as soon as I get organised. At least that way once I have given him some solids, I can chuck him in the bath for a rinse off - gosh he can make a mess :)

As for us, teething again, top teeth are red and swollen, so hopefully they will come through within the week. He can be so happy and then turn into monster child in a matter of seconds. Today he just wouldn't settle in his pram, I had to take him home and as soon as he was in the car he fell asleep, and has now slept for over 2 hours. It is so embarrassing when you are walking around trying to settle him in the pram and he is screaming like a banshee. I just can't seem to ignore the scandalised looks on women's faces as they walk by - I feel like a car will pull up and snatch Caden away and take him to child welfare on account of me being a rotten mumma.

june -You turned your car seat around already? Cameron is 18 pounds (8.1kg) but I was told by my Doctor and my public health not to face him forwards until he's a year old, as even if he's the right weight he's not developed enough to safely sit forward.
With solids,I agree that you have to let your baby be your guide and if he's gobbling it all down he's obviously ready, I'm just paranoid LOL. I don't think Cameron is quite ready yet so I'm in no hurry.

AS for sleeping, Cameron will usually self settle in the day. I can put him on the bed if he'd drowsy and he'll go straight to sleep but at night he has a harder time and i have to feed him or rock him to sleep most nights. Sometimes though he will just drift off on his own or if I put him down in his cot I'll come back in a bit to find him sleeping. I've been naughty though and have been letting him spend most nights in our bed. I like having him close and feel bad for some reason leaving him all alone in his crib. I also love waking up with a tiny hand in my face and opening my eyes to see him smiling up at me. We're going away for the next three weeks so when we get back I'll transition him back into his own bed. For now I'm enjoying the extra cuddles with him.

Vaccines didn't go so great last week. My husband came this time and held him (he was out of town for the first set). Hubby was so cute, he was super busy at work but came anyways as he didn't want Cameron to have to go through it without him. Cameron cried like crazy but not as bad as last time at least. The next day he had a fever and was super fussy. I gave him tylenol which helped and he was feeling himself again the following day. Not looking forward to the next set!

Well Hello everyone

Finally got internet back up and running! ah, back to the land of the living...

Ok where do I start. Ok Thomas is now 5 months and 9 days old. wow that time has flown. He is 9.3 kg with clothes on and bout 73 cm.

Lately he has been waking of a night time every 2-3 hours. He seems hungry when he wakes also and so a feed settles him and he is straight back to sleep. very tiring tho. not sure why he is doing this and has been for the past few weeks.

We went and had some professional photos done of Thomas. They turned out so well. So cute.

Thomas sits up for quite a while playing, sometimes gets the wobbles and goes sideways, but he loves it. He is rolling over from back to belly and belly to back. He is making so many different noises. He is a little chatterbox! He gets the mum mum mum happening and bub bub bub. He usually says mum mum mum when laying in his cot in the morning awake wanting to get out.

HEATHER - Wow pigtails, how cute, Thomas has a bit of blonde hair and i tend to spike it up in a little mohawk.

TWIN SIS - I hate taking Thomas to get his vaccinations. I got my partner to hold him last time to cause I hate needles myself. We have his 6 mth needles in a few wks! :(

HOODY - That is so great that DD1 wants to be involved and help out. How cute that she cuddles her in the car when crying.

LIMESLICE - How is Charlotte feeling now?

JUNE - I was thinking about changing Thomas's car seat around cause his legs are too long for it when it is backwards.

DRAGONBUB - How many teeth does Caden have? Thomas still doesnt have any but has been showing the signs for months now.

Wow Holly, Thomas is getting so big! 9.3kg! and here I thought my little guy was big! And sitting up/rolling too. Cameron can easily roll form tummy to back but still stuggles with the other direction and he can't sit up by himslef unles he's got a bit of support.

The last 3 or 4 days Cameron has been REALLY fussy. He makes his "i'm hungry" noises but when I put him to the breast he cries and fights it for several minutes before he finally settles down and eats. Then he's still fussy after.......so despite my reservations about starting solids until after 6 months, we bit the bullet and started rice cereal mixed with breast milk last night. He was obviously ready for is as he hoovered it down and was opening his mouth for more. The plan though is to stick with just the cereal now until 6 months and then start introducing other foods. It was so fun feeding him!!

Yep Thomas is a big boy. But he had a head start being 10 pnd 6 & 60 cm long born!

Well we started Thomas on solids a few weeks ago. Being a bigger boy and really interesting in food. He watches every mouthful you take. He had rice cereal with breastmilk to start with, then I just tried him with the rice cereal and boiled water (which doesnt taste as nice), he also loves pureed pears. It is heaps of fun isnt it. Thomas opens up and cant wait for the next spoonful!

Thomas has been really good the last few nights only waking at 2 am, and then 5.30 am, however not wanting to go back to sleep after his 5.30 feed. Prior to this he was waking every couple of hrs for a feed. I cant complain tho because he only takes 5 minutes to feed and he is straight back into bed sound asleep.

Thanks for the hugs and thoughts girls! :) Charlotte has been alright...the ear infection has cleared up...to make way for The Fusspot! lol Been really unsettled lately, not sleeping longer than a couple of hours, 4 if I'm lucky, so she's been back in bed with me (jut because it's easier to feed her if I don't have to get up in the cold!! lol)

Anyway, aside that though all seems well- I have had to set the JJ a couple of notches higher because she appears to have put on weight (so wasn't being very Jolly when Jumping)
And we have FINALLY moved on from the squealing, I am so grateful for that one, I thought I was going to have a permanent ring in my ear forever!!

DF comes home tomorrow (WOOT!!) and it's our anniversary, so I have managed to get a babysitter for Friday for so that DF and I can go out to the MOVIES!! (lmao - ever thought I'd be soooo excited to just go the movies again!!!) So excited - we haven't had any time alone together since Charlotte was born, and we kind of need the together time, been feeling a little disconnected. So I cant wait!!

TS: Go Cameron with the cereal! I can't wait to feed Charlotte - I'm glad you enjoyed it! And I hear you about waking up with the hand on your face and hat huge smile in the mornings! It make having no sleep seem so worth it!

Yeh he certainly is going to be a big boy. He will tower over his Daddy soon... How funny.

Thomas has just been through that stage where he woke up every few hrs. So I am glad that I am not the only one thats been through that. Its tiring tho, you poor thing. I hope Thomas is over that for the moment. I might get a bit better sleep ;)

Have been away down south again so have missed lots of posts.

Lime - enjoy those NB cuddles! My big sis has a 10 week old so that was pretty cool cuddling her all week. My lil sis is due pretty soon and I get to be at the birth, so I am really looking forward to that too. Let us know how it goes :)

Holly - Caden has two bottom teeth and the two top teeth are on their way. Today he must have munched too hard on the teething ring cos he made them bleed a bit. I think it may be just about to cut through and he just got carried away. VERY grizzly all week which was hard being away from home. And he has a runny nose which he got last time when teething, so am sure they are on their way.

Twinsis - yeah, we snuck into the November group even though Caden was born in October. He was due 7th November but came 3 weeks early the lil tyke!

Well, things are going ok except for a really grizzly week being away from home. He is onto 3 meals a day now, and sometimes whilst he wont take the breast he will scoff down his food. That might be cos of teething tho, cos when I gave him some EBM he drank about 100 ml but wouldn't drink off me, so maybe it was his teeth. He seems to have really changed lately. He has started saying "mumumumum" as well Holly, it sounds so cute doesn't it? He is so much more talkative, and babbles on instead of crying when he is upset, which makes for a nice change. He is rolling both ways now, and seems alot more content on his tum. Today he sat up for about 30 seconds on his own, and is getting so good at it I am sure he wont need my help much longer.

No sign of crawling yet, he might be the "average" bub at 8 months heh heh. In no hurry, thats for sure, as we have ridiculous spiral stairs that I have nightmares over.

Twinsis- I hope Cameron has settled down for you and not so fussy now. Glad you had fun startig him solids and that he enjoyed it. I hope we transition easily like it sounds like you have. I will too be starting on only Rice cereal and then moving on from there. I'm a bit paranoid with solids and DD1 has lots of intolerances.

Well we are doing ok but Molly has been quite fussy the last couple of days esp for her day sleeps she normally self settles really well but we have had to work at it this week. I am thinking maybe her teeth as her bottom gums are red and swollen and i can see the 2 front ones just below the skin. I wasnt expecting teeth yet as DD1 didnt get any til over 7 months but i guess only time will tell. We are pretty much completely on the bottle now :( When i do put her to the breast i think it is more for my benefit i have next to no milk left. I know formula isnt poison etc and i tried my hardest but i am disappointed in my self none the less i really wanted to get to 6 months at least. I miss BFing so much but it is a relief not worrying about my supply etc and knowing she isnt starving all the time and not having to take drugs every day iykwim. Our nights are still going fairly well with a feed about 6pm, occasionally one at 10pm then through til 6am. It like she has an alarm that goes off at this time everyday which is frustrating as she will go back to sleep after that feed so i will go to bed but its guaranteed DD1 will wait till i've just dozed of then she will come in to get me up for the day at about 6.45am. Why is it kids like to get up so dam early? DD1 has been hard work this week as she has an ear infection so has been very grumpy to say the least. The puppy has settled in very nicely and i am enjoying walking her every day but i am finding even less time for me with 2 kids, a dog and a hubby how am i supposed to find time for me? If anyone has any tricks let me know. Well i hope you all have a lovely long weekend.

News here - L has been sick with a cold so not sleeping as well at night. Still haven't started solids, hopefully in a week or so. AND - he's crawling!! YIKES!!

Hi lovelies!!

I'm gonna start with personals first this time, so when Mr stops feeding at least I'll have said Hi properly. (That was at 7 this morning. WE've had a fun morning - 4 feeds, three plays, one little sleep in our bed, one monster spew, not in our bed fortunately...)

Hoody - glad the 3rd M is working out, even if it reduces the available 'you' time. On the breast feeding front, you, out of everyone should feel the most proud of what you did, because you tried absolutely everything you could. Regardless of whether it worked or not, the thing to be proud of is that you gave it your all. Pushing it that bit further wouldn't have made Molly happier or healthier, and it wouldn't have changed the outcome. You did the right thing hon, and you know it, it's just sad that something you wanted so much didn't work out, but you shouldn't feel disappointed with your own efforts.

Willow - OMG, crawling!!! I don't envy that one! Euan is nowhere near it and I'm glad, one of our IRL mums' group babies is just starting to crawl and he'd be the same age as L. I sometimes forget that E is the 'baby' of the group! Are you looking forward to the christening? (And to the 'other' event happening around that time?)

Holly - LOL at the tiger roaring. E has gone from baby dolphin to squeaky door. I do have to ask what you're feeding him though - that's a big boy you've got!! I've often wondered if there is a correlation between size and strength in the way that motor skills develop - the two 'big' bubbas in our mums group are both very strong and have developed skills like rolling and crawling much quicker. Not that it matters in the end - but it does seem to make it easier. We're gonna send E to baby gym to build up these chicken arms!! LOL.

LS - sorry you've got Ms Fusspot, but at least it's not Ms Squealy Fusspot. Euan also seems over the squealing, probably was sick of it too... Hope your anniversary is a tops night out!!

Dragonbub - how cool that you'll get to be at your sister's birth (well, you know what I mean), and that there'll be so many cousins all round the same age. Both DP and I are only children so no cousins for Euan.

TwinSis - Euan has also been doing the fussing at the boob, only on a few feeds (average one or two a day but not every day). He's hungry as, and will start feeding, then just stop and scream at the boob. It's so hard to figure out what is actually bugging him, whether it's a slow letdown thing or something else (I never feel a letdown). He's been feeding a lot more often again - must be a growth spurt - but I'm going to hold out as long as I can before getting him onto solids. He's not really interested yet and just doesn't seem ready to me (maybe wishful thinking that my little boy's not growing up)

June - Yay on the self settling thing. Hope it's still going well for you. And bummer on the receding tooth, how frustrating. Maybe it will come through easier the second time.

Heather - Kimmy sounds like a little cutie with the pigtails. We've got a nearly baldy here - I'm not used to seeing a baby with hair! Oh well, one less thing to wash!

Hopefully I haven't forgotten anyone! As for us, the young gentleman had his first swimming lesson on Tuesday. OMG talk about water baby! He loved it, although he was a little bemused at first at the sensation of so much water, but got into it pretty quickly. Um, what else - at last weighing (two weeks ago) he was 6.68kg and 70cm long. He's still only rolling from back to front, but has almost figured out that he can roll in both directions. He's making these odd little syncopated noises that sound like a squeaky door, and is generally being very talkative. Still a night owl, bedtime usually between 10:30 and 11:30, waking between 6:00 and 7:00, but sometimes has a nap in the evening depending on how well he's slept during the day.

We're off to the pub for Anzac Day lunch so will see you all later!

Suse - that's great about your water bub. Mine is not so keen, but is starting to splash alot more. I think it is so important to teach them water awareness. I mean, it is not as if they can swim just yet, but it is great to start early so they are not afraid of the water when they are learning to swim. AND it is great fun! Tuckers them right out tho, Caden usually sleeps for 2-3 hours afterwards :D

Willow - great to hear from you. Hope you stop by again soon. Can't believe your bubba is crawling! I am sooo not looking forward to that one with our house being 3 story. Did he just up and do it, or was he doing the rocking, commando thing? Caden is yet to even consider crawling. He just reaches out for something and if he can't grab it, he just gives up and rolls back over to his back :) It is cute and keeps him happy, but as usual I stress that he wont crawl til later. I guess it doesn't matter as long as he is strong enough, he is building up his muscles after all, and I am sure that once he is interested he will get up and go one way or another!

Hoody - I agree with Suse, you should be so proud of what you did. Later, when you are reflecting on your journey as a mother to Molly, I am sure you will know that you did the very best that you could, and sometimes life just doesn't comply with our deepest wishes. You really should give yourself a break. There was NOTHING you could have done differently that would have enabled you to breastfeed longer. I think you knew your limitations, and THAT is what perfect mothering is about. You have tried so hard and Molly is such a lucky girl to have her mumma wish so hard for her to have the very best that she can give. You are still giving her the very best now, by allowing her to grow and be strong, and allowing yourself permission to give up what you most desire. As for YOU time, if you find out how to get some, let me know LOL. But I shouldn't complain, I just have the one bubba!

Holly - I try for 3 meals a day, as this seems to keep him the most satisfied, particularly now cos he is teething and has a stuffy nose, so is very fussy at the breast. I give him fruit with cereal for breaky (although yesterday we tried baby yoghurt - yummy), plain vege for lunch, like today he will have sweet potato, and then maybe some plain or mixed fruit in the arvo. So far we have tried apple, pear, banana, avocado (loved this at first now hates it), potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, and carrot. It was hard to pack my home-cooked meals for our trip down south, so I just bought jar food, but really, they don't do too many simple serves, and I hadn't yet tried Caden with pumpkin or other fruits. It was so hard to get simple serves! Therefore he tried pumpkin out for the first time, but has suffered no ill consequence :D He always eats the whole amount, which equates to about 2 tablespoons I guess. He is a piglet. He has dropped a feed though, not totally, just has less breast throughout the day, but still has a big morning and evening feed.

Well, as for us, lots of mamamas and dadadadas, with some bubbas thrown in for good measure. It is so cute when he laughs his head off and babbles. The mummas seem to come when he is upset, and the daddas when he is just babbling...typical!

It has been a fairly trying week due to teething and the flu, and DH is sick also. I think we are all a bit run down and need a break.

Just on a side, I have a friend with a bub a couple months older than Caden. She always says how great it is being a mum and she doesn't find it hard at all. But having said that, she was almost in tears trying to put him to sleep one night cos he just kept crying. I mean, I think it is great also, but it is certainly the hardest thing I have ever done. Why don't some mums just admit that it is hard? It doesn't mean you love your baby any less, or that they are not perfect in your eyes, but that in reality, it is not easy? I felt judged because I admitted that it wasn't easy, but really, I am sure that she feels the same, she just doesn't want to admit it. It is coming on here and seeing that others are having sleepless nights, battling with teething and craving some "me" time that makes me feel what I am going through is normal, not just the result of me being a bad mother.

Anyhoo, got that off my chest! Hope you all had a great Anzac weekend, and have a great week :D

DB - you are completely normal!! This is my second time arond and it's still hard, if not harder, than the first time! This is the most challenging thing I have ever done, or probably will ever do, but it's also the most rewarding and most important and that's why we do it!! I don't know why people can't admit it. Maybe they think that makes them a bad mum, or people will think they're not 'coping'?? I'm always very, very open and honest about what motherhood is like, I wish everyone was the same.

With the crawling thing - sorry was in a rush when I posted, should have said it's just commando at this stage thank god! But he gets around, can go from loungeroom to kitchen to dining room etc etc. I definitely have to watch where i put him and what's on the floor etc etc.

No babbling yet, well nothing I can decipher anyway!

We're having a shocker with sleep at the moment - he has a cold and I strongly suspect a tooth coming through but god I just want some more sleep!!

Big week coming up for us with his christening and my 30th, have family and friends flying in and out so probably won't be around for a week or so but when i come back, I promise to catch up properly and do some personals and everything! Not enough time in the day at the moment.

It seems forever since I have been here, but time gets away.. :doh: Tomorrow comes and goes as quick as today!!!

Well Kimberley has been growing up so fast. We have finally made it past 6kgs. Yippee :dance: Think having solid food has helped there! Getting ready to go out for the day has just become harder, having to take meals as well. There is no going back now and 3 lots of food are demanded a day.. rice cereal for brekky, fruit (pears or apples) for lunch and vege (sweet potato) for dinner.. Must think about some other foods to give variety. We are making it, so really need to get my act together.

Kimberley spent 3 nights with her grandparents last week. I ended up working Monday and Tuesday, and then we decided to go see Phantom of the Opera on Thursday. Great musical, but decided no more time apart for a while now. She is starting to realise that we have been away from each other and gets so excited when she comes home, it takes a few nights to get back into a routine. DH was so proud when she was bawling for me, and he managed to get her to sleep.. It was a huge confidence boost for him when it also happened the 2nd night!

We had our 1st haircut last weekend. The fringe was in her eyes, so I finally accepted the time had come, however was not letting the scissors anywhere near the rest of her hair, just the fringe.

Dragonbub - I hear you on motherhood being the hardest thing you have done. And you will see from what I am about to write, that your not the only one to think it can be hard work.. Before I had Kimmy, who we planned, I was a career woman and used to things going my way.. Boy did I have a culture shock. Only this morning I was in tears cause I was over the whole thing (less sleep, no time to what I want/need to do). DH always gets unbroken sleep, and while I am lucky that Kimmy normally sleeps through, I am the one that is up if she doesn't, and I normally don't get much done till she is in bed which means I don't get early nights. We were away on the weekend, and DH went for a few drinks, and kimmy was unsettled, so I didn't get much sleep, and had to deal with grumpy DH cause he had a hangover. Don't get me wrong, he is great with her and will do anything that is required when required, but he gets time to himself. Through the week, if he is on afternoons (starting at 1.00pm), he puts her in daycare about 9.30 so he can get things done, if he is on earlies (finishing at 1 or 2 pm), he picks her up about 4.30 after he has done what he needs to and if he is off, yep, he still puts her in daycare on her booked days.. Me on the other hand, I work 3 days and have Kimmy 4 days, and with a child that doesn't sleep much in the day, (and something that all us mothers are fully aware) it is so hard to do common things like shower, housework, hang the washing etc without having to think "is kimmy ok to leave where she is, is it safe for her to be with me (depending on what I am doing).. Sorryfor my gripe, but feel less frustrated now I have written down. And I was over it by the time DH left for work, but I was tired this morning.

Willow - GL with the christening and the birthday.. Hope you have a good time! Hope some sleep is on the cards very soon.. :crossfingers:

Dragonbub - :clap: on the babbling. Nothing Kimmy says makes sense, but think we are getting close to Dadda, means he has to get up to her. And yep, it is so hard to buy plain food in the jar.. Think the only plain thing I have been able to find is apple.

Suse - glad Euan liked the water! The noises sound as though they are cute :) I can share Kimmy's hair with Euan, she has plenty to go round..;)

Hoody - you did a great job with the breastfeeding, and even though you feel as though what you are currently doing it is only for your benefit, it is better than nothing. I know that Kimmy gets almost nothing from me (I am lucky to cover the bottom of the bottle if I express), but if Molly is still sucking, she is benefiting. But hope a few :hug: make you feel a bit better. Hope Mia is a bit better now.. As for the 'me time', I now just tell DH that I am having an hour to myself, and don't want to be bothered by him or Kimmy. I just don't really give him a choice, and it has worked so far, he is big enough to know what to do.

Holly - am sure that Kimmy is going to tower over me too.. DH is tall so, she is taking after him. You must have had some wicked milk to have such a big boy, but he sounds adorable! I feed Kimmy 2 small icecube size servings at a time for the fruit/veges or about a 1/3 of a jar at each sitting.

Limeslice - Did you have fun at the movies?? Glad to hear the squealing has moved on, but it comes back at a different pitch!! :lol: GLad to hear she is on the mend, it makes it so hard when they are sick.. Don't know how you sleep with DD in your bed.. Kimmy kicks me out, so she gets evicted to the cot, but even the noises from there drive me nuts, so she is back in her own room and us in ours (there was too much washing on the spare bed, so we went back to our room down the other end of the house and put the monitor on.. Nice to be back in our king size bed.)

Twinsis - those 1st feeds are so fun aren't they.. Was good that DH was able to get away for the injections. I believe that is good for both baby and dad. Baby gets to see that Dad is also around to help protect them, and Dad feels more involved and protective.

June - hope all is going well.. Will catch up with you at mothers group tomorrow..

Well hope that is everyone.. That will probably be me for another week (well it seems that I only get round to posting that often now I am working again)..
