Hi everyone,
Hoody - big hugs.. Not sure if I could be cheery going through what you do!! You are amazing and seem to take in your stride. But you are often in my thoughts..
DB - hope you are over your bug and feeling a bit better...
Everyone else - hi, hope you are going well
Gotta fly as DH is calling me to help with something..
-
Well 24hrs on the antibiotics and i have a diff bub all together. Still unwell but she is eating and drinking and no more temp. Well gotta run too hard to type with a 9 month old fighting me for the key board. ;)
Thanks for your kind words heather :D
-
Hoody - glad to hear things are better and Molly is eating more. It is so frustrating when Drs treat you like an imbecile! good on you for sticking to your guns and following mummies intuition! Dont worry about the house being a mess, take some time out for yourself if you can, even if it just means giving the dishes a miss for a night.
Heather - better today, but still a bit off. Caden has been grizzly too and very farty, so he might have a bit of it as well. Still, am much better today so hopefully we are both on the mend.
Everyone else, hope all is well?
-
Wow very quiet in here. Not doing too well, got a gastro bug going through the household :( Caden woke up this morning after doing runny poos, and seemed ok. He walked around a bit, then fell onto his bottom then backwards. Not a hard bump, but enough to shock him and then tears. I was holding him and cuddling him when he made this gurgling sound, and yacked all over me! Poor munchkin, with all that going on in his tummy! So my morning started off with poo, wee, and then vomit all over me :) ah the joys of motherhood.
As for us, lots of walking and talking. Heaps more mum mums which is so lovely to hear, and he has been really cuddly lately whereby I am getting lots of hugs and snuggles. It all makes up for the vomit, that's for sure ;)
Gotta go finish off my last uni assignment hopefully. I have taken a break this semester and will resume the first semester next year. I am in no hurry to finish it, and the fact that this particular assignment has taken over 6 months to complete, I don't think I have it in me to hit it too hard anyways.
Have a great week everyone!
PS, like my new avatar?
-
Hi,
DB - The avatar looks great! I get sick of talking to myself so haven't been in here much :p Hope everyone else is ok!! Oh and June won't be in for a while, she has gone on holidays for 3 weeks..
Not too much happening here, DH went back to work today after 8 weeks off. Am procrastinating with housework, cause I feel a bit flat..
Kimberley now crawls to the door and sits there looking at the outside world. She is into everthing. Caught her pulling all the empty files out of the filing cabinet the other day :wall: Am sure she is helping in her mind ..
-
Feeling like c#$p. Got gastro and Caden did another big yac today all over me and the rug. I have never seen anything like it, like from the Exorcism or something! He just opened his mouth wide and this column of banana and milk came shooting out. It didn't seem to bother him, he didn't even cry. Poor bubba, I didn't think babies got gastro?
DH and myself are both sick and I really struggled to do my uni assignment today. Several times I felt like giving up and even rang the unit coordinator to tell her that I might as well quit because it was all too hard. To get this far and still not be able to complete it is just too much for me.
Still, I have my mum coming up tomorrow to give me a helping hand with bub and around the house, so hopefully I might get it completed :D I just can't wait for that relief! I might fail it, but at least I have tried,
Hope you are all having a better week than me :(
-
Hey all,
Feeling much better, thought I would pop in to say that! My uni assignment is finally completed and sent off, so fingers crossed I pass
Need to go spend some time with hubby so will check in tomorrow,
Have a great week and Fathers Day weekend :cryinglaugh:

Hello All
Sorry been MIA lately but DH went down south for a fishing trip and i've been busy busy busy. The girls are keeping me on my toes and i dont get 2 seconds to myself unless they are both in bed and generally by then i am knackered. DD1 had a big night terror just before and i tell you what it was horrible- lasted for about half and hour. I couldnt wake her and she was hysterical. It was her 1st and hopefully the last.
Molly is still the doing all the things she was doing before so nothing really exciting to recall. She is all healthy again and back to her placid self. Back to eating like a champ and sleeping all night long. Yesterday and today though she has gone down for her morning nap fine but i havent been able to get her to have an afternoon one. Hoping its just a phase and that she's not cutting out a sleep already.
Been spending lots of time outside with the girls as the weather has been so nice the last few day so now i'm all excited that summer is coming.
SOrry no personals i will pop back in tomo if i have a chance i promise.
-
Hey Hoody,
Glad to hear all is well. Taking DS to docs today cos he is still sick. Lots and lots of runny poos, up at 3.30 this morning giving him a bath cos he had poo everywhere!. Needless to say not much sleep for either of us and he ended up sleeping with us just to get him to settle. I am hoping the doc will be able to give me something for him because it has been a week and he is still really unsettled. He sleeps fine, in fact is sleeping more than normal cos he is sick, but is really grumpy and rediculously clingy in between. Plus the poos REALLY pong!
Hope everyone else is good?
-
DB- How did you go on at the drs? Sorry to hear that Caden is so unwell still. It really is horrible when they are like that. Is he eating and drinking still? I've BTDT with the 3am baths etc it really is horrible. DD1 actually threw up in her sleep a few weeks ago and omg the mess was horrendous. She was so upset all she wanted was a cuddle but she had puke all over her and all through her hair. Needless to say we both ended up in the shower at some ridiculous hour  Sending get well vibes your way
Well I cant believe fathers day has come around so fast :D I am not doing to much for DH as his fishing trip that he just got back from was supposed to be his present. Normally we go away together as a family as the trout season opens 1st of sept it normally covers the fathers day weekend iykwim. I do have him a couple of bits from the girls and we are going to the IL's for dinner. I wont be seeing my dad as he is away and has been since may. :( He is due home in approx 2wks though so i am looking forward to that.
Well i hope all mums and bub are well
-
HELLO, Hello, Hello,
Sorry my hello is echoing in the emptiness :p
I hope you are all well and same with bubs. We are all well here. Still having issues with our afternoon sleep :( I think Molly is trying to cut it out already but if she has just one by 4pm she is ready for bed so i'm trying to insist that she has the 2 still.
Well i'll pop back later to see if anyone has posted............I'm getting very lonely.
-
Hello All,
been busy busy busy! Working hard, finished studying thank god, had a sick family and crook bubba last few nights so up at all hours of the night again. Screaming, arching back, the works. I had to put him into bed with us last night just to get some sleep, but only really had about 3 hours total, so feeling a bit incoherant today :(
Having some blues with DH atm. Not sure what is going on, maybe lack of sleep, but is starting to get me down. Will be back later to elaborate, but for now must go get bub out of shower and into PJs,
TTFN!
-
DB- Hey hun how you doing? Sorry to hear you and DH are having a rough time it really can be so hard when you have all been unwell and sleep deprived. I bet you are so relieved that you have finished studying for now WTG for getting what you have done up to now done along with been a mumma thats an acheivment in itself.
Mel- How are you babe? Long time no chat. Busy busy busy here as always but will try and catch up on MSN soon
Everyone else hope you are all well.
Well we are all great no complaints here :) Had a very busy day today as DD1 had 2 birthday parties this afternoon. Molly had a monster sleep last night from 5.30pm-9am this mo but didnt sleep a wink today so was rather unsettled this evening. Because of her big sleep last night she wouldnt go down this morning- she obviously wasnt tired but then when she was tired this arvo we were out and she isnt a fan of sleeping anywhere but in her cot or on someones bed. She WILL NOT sleep in my arms (unless she is sick) or in her pram which can be a bit frustrating. I'm hoping it means she will have a good sleep tonight again but honestly i think more than likely not as her routine is all messed up and she generally sleeps better at night if she has had decent day naps iykwim. Well my parents came home today and i cant wait to see them. Dads been away since beginning of May and mum since mid July so they will both see a huge difference in Molly. I wanted to go and see them this evening but after such a hectic day it wasnt fair on the kids and TBH i think mum and dad will both be knackered too so i will wait til the morning. Just hope they dont want a sleep in lol as my lil monkeys (well DD1) will be very excited to go 1st thing.
Well take care and would love to hear how you are all going.
-
Hello all,
been quiet in here lately...
Thanks Hoody - yeah, it has been tough with a sick household, I know you can relate! It puts extra pressure on things and we get next to no time to ourselves, we haven't had alone time in months and months and it is starting to take its toll. We have a wedding this weekend, and my SIL is looking after Caden for the first time, she is seventeen. If it works out I might get her to look after him a bit more and we can catch a movie and dinner and have a "date". It would be nice to reconnect as two people, not just parents.
I think Caden may be teething again, same old symptoms, but these would be his molars so not sure. I expect them around his first birthday, so maybe they are moving. Had a very grumpy day on Sunday and a bit today but mostly he has been a little champion. Very clingy though and wont let me out of his sight, but at least he is a happy chappy when we play together. The grizzling just gets on my nerves and I end up losing my patience. He will be 11 months tomorrow! OMG the time has flown. Party plans in full swing as I am having a joint 60th and 1st cos its my mums birthday also. It should be so great.
Well, gotta go express some milk and then bed :waves:
-
DB- GL for your upcoming date with your DH. I am sure you deserve a night off. I hope the teething passes quickly for caden.
Well all well here. I left my lil monkey for a minute this morning and came back to her eating dog food and not biscuits wet dog food from a can *sigh* I dont know if its a coincidence or not but now she has the runs  She isnt crawling still so didnt expect her to get it but she is bum shuffling. Not far but she can move a couple of metres :cryinglaugh: As horrible as it ease eating dog food it really was quite funny. I have put photos on my Face Book if anyone wants to check them out.
Well still really quiet in here which is sad as i am finding i am becoming quieter. I feel there is no point posting if no one else is going too iykwim. I love BB and at one time was quite addicted but these days i just log on check my threads and leave it at that :(
Take care
-
Still just lonely old me in here so no point posting again :(
-
Still here Hoody! PMSL about the dog food. Just goes to show you can't leave them for a second cos they will get up to absolutely no good. Have had a rough couple of nights with the flu now (will it ever end?). It seems like one illness after the other. First DH got it and acted like an 11 month old baby, in fact, Caden actually handles it much better than him :). High temps, cough, feeling like being hit by a train. Now Caden and I have it, high temps, cough, train, etc :( Very rough as DH doesn't seem to get that when WE are sick, he must look after us, not the other way round). He is so impatient sometimes and a little bit unreasonable. I am quite irrational myself at the moment due to only having 4 hours sleep for the last couple of nights, being sucked dry by Caden during the night, and having the flu myself. Not much tolerance for selfish husbands :wall: I hate it when he gets up in the morning and whinges about the hour that he heard Caden crying. I mean, HEARD being the operative word as he was tucked into bed snoring his head off! MEN!!
Well, on a more positive note we have our party plans in full swing. I am so looking forward to it, it should be great (providing these bugs disappear). I have been working about a day and a half each week which puts DHs nose out of joint a little as he has to watch Caden for a couple of hours on a Friday, but personally I think it is good for him. He is always comparing himself to other dads saying they don't spend nearly as much time with their babies as he does . I just wish he would grow up and get over himself sometimes, but like I said, I am mildly demented due to lack of sleep...
It looks like just the two of us Hoody. Maybe we should change it to Hoody and Dragonbub Babies thread, heh heh. I guess if it stays this quiet we may have to consider joining with October or December bubs. I sometimes duck into the October thread as that is when Caden was born, it seems to move pretty fast in there but is a bit harder to keep up.
Have a great weekend!
-
DB- i get what you mean about DH's they really can be unreasonable at time BTDT before but my DH is actually alot better now than he was when we just had dd1. I actually went and got my hair done this morning and left him with both dds awake....lol (normally i will make sure Molly is in bed etc if i am leaving them both.) He had to dress, feed and generally entertain them for about 3 hrs, i also left a list of chores such as emptying the dishwasher and washing etc. When i got home i got a big hug and told he doesnt know how i ever get anything with them both :cryinglaugh: I am so glad he openly told me it was hard for him as thats how it is for me everyday. He also had unexpected visitors to look after too :p
Sorry to hear you are still unwell you really have had a tough couple of weeks. You may be tired and a little irrational but i am sure you are coping fine.
Nothing much to say here on our front still doing the same old things etc. Molly is gettign cheekier daily though i think. Loving her finger foods esp the ones that DD1 slips her whilst my back is turned etc  She now loves biscuits and twisty's etc Oh well not what i'd let her have but at least DD1 likes to share.
-
Hi just a quick note to let you know i am going to be posting in the Dec babies thread from now on as its too quiet in here. I will pop in though and if ppl start posting again then so will i. I can always be PM'd, emailed or if you want to contact me through face book thats fine also. If not i'll see you around the forums. (maybe back in here one day if as i said ppl start posting again)
Take care all and DB do keep in contact
-
Hello all,
I am following suit with Hoody and have moved myself to October thread. It is so quiet in here, although so busy in there I can hardly keep up! Of course I am always around if anyone wants to PM me or just drop into October and we can chat.
Good luck to all mummas and bubbas!
-
Hello all,
Just doing a quick post in here cos the October thread moves so fast and I miss you guys. I know there is probably no one out there to read this, but it feels nice to be back "home" so to speak!
Caden is going so well atm. He is gearing up for his first birthday next Friday, I can't believe it has almost been a year! This time last year I was only 36 weeks pregnant, had just finished work, and had no idea I would have a bubba in one week :) Life seems to be going so fast.
I am back at work soon also, which brings with it it's own worries and fears. I am really looking forward to it though and have caught up with my boss recently to confirm dates etc.
Not really thinking seriously about another bub just yet, but starting to wonder what it would be like. I guess as the gap widens between when he was a little bubba and a little boy widens, it will become much more of a reality.
We are planning on moving further south (closer to work) in about 6 months and will rent for a while as we build. That should be better as the drive to work wont be as long.
Am also considering doing my MBA starting next year. Not sure if this is really going to get me to where I want to go, but I am itching to get some more study done and the Psych degree isn't really doing it for me. I only have 3 units to go, and I probably should just finish it before taking on more study. Ho hum, I guess time will tell?
Well, enough of the verbal dump, it feels good to just get things off my chest and even though no one is listening, it feels more like the appropriate place to do it.
:p
-
Hey hun,
I am listening, and I was kinda too lazy to post anywhere else even though it is so quiet here (I took a look at the Oct and Dec ones and ran and hid :p They have more posts in day then this one in a week )...
GL on the studies.. I totally gave up, and won't be taking it up again just yet. We are hoping to extend our family next year, more DH's choice than mine. I'm just having the same fears about everything before we decided to TTC DD.
I hear you on the time getting away.. I keep telling myself that I must organise a party, but keep putting it off thinking there is plenty of time. I was so in wind down mode this time last year, and work was just that place I drove to everyday!
I have started a new job and am hating being away from Kim. I was ok in my last job cause I knew what I was doing, but this one, I am having severe separation anxiety when she is in DC.. Am fine if she is with DH, or any of our family, but I actually cried when dropping her to DC the other day...
Anyhow, must be off.. Feeling a bit blah at the moment and want a good nights sleep before DH heads off to work in the morning..
-
Hey Heather,
Sorry you are feeling blah! Does your DH want to start trying soon? I have the opposite really, DH doesnt' want to try for years and years, but I will see how we go this time next year. Like I said, we are planning on moving and building, so will wait until the dust settles after that, and also where I am career-wise.
Separation anxiety is normal I think, particularly if bub is in daycare. Its as if when they are looked after by DH or mum or someone that it is kind of like being looked after by you, but if by childcare workers then it is not like you, does that make sense? I have Caden in family day care and I feel after spending so much time with him there that she is sometimes better than DH, cos he seems to resent looking after Caden a bit. I mean, he doesn't resent Caden, just me.
I think the anxiety lasts a while, but I am assured that it gets better. Just know that she is perfectly safe and happy there. Mind you, a video camera on her would be great so you could see how she is going all the time
As for the study, am thinking about an MBA at this point. Not sure where it will get me but I was looking on line at options and the units look really great. What were you studying? There is always time, or flexibility if you feel the need to study but don't want to jump in the deep end. Although sometimes life is busy enough without the additional stress! :wall: It is just that I really like studying and advancing myself, and hope to be an HR Manager in a few years so hopefully it will put me in good stead.
Hard to juggle family and work though, it will be interesting at the end of October when I go back to work. Ihear you on the push-pull front of being a working mum!
Well, am rambling now so best be off, have a great week hun,
-
Hi DB..
Didn't get my long sleep. Miss Kim had me up till about 12.30 and still no idea why.
DH wants to start TTC by the end of the year. Wants 2 under 2.. Funny how he was scared s**tless about having Kim and now wants another one.. Don't get me wrong, I love Kimmy and want another, but I am worried about the finances.. We only just scraped through this time and it won't be worth me working with 2 if I have to pay for DC.. But as DH says, we will cross that bridge together when we get to it
I understand on the house thing.. And also no good pushing DH into something that he isn't happy with. He might change his mind with a new house though :crossfingers:
I was studying a diploma in Commercial Shipping, but still have my heart set on nursing. It will be crunch time the year after next. Will do it then, or not at all.
Gotta go as DH will be home soon.. YAY...
Take care whoever is reading... Hoody, did your man arrive home safely?
-
Hey guys i am reading but no time to post just yet i'll BBL
-
Hello DB and Heather
Hehe i missed you guys too. Although i seem to have fit in the Dec thread it moves soooo fast and after a busy weekend with no BB time i dont know how i'll catch up.
Heather i hear you on the separation anxiety. My DD1 used to go to FDC and loved it but has 2 weeks ago started at a regular centre and HATES it. She cries when i leave and both days i have been called about 1pm to go and get her as she is distress. :( Its heart breaking but as i want to go back to work i really need her to be settled somewhere iykwim.
Well the 2wks alone while DH was in Vietnam where horrendous. Both girls had bad colds and Gastro went through all of us. I am so relieved he is home but he is planning to go again in January.
Well Molly seems to suddenly come along in leaps and bounds. She is now sitting herself up and standing. Funny 2 weeks ago she was jsut my lump on the floor. She is rocking on all 4's and commando crawling backward so i dont think it will be long b4 she is off.
Well keep posting and i'll keep reading.
-
DB,
Hope you had a lovely day today with your little man turning the big 1.. :bluecheer::bluecheer::bluecheer:
Take care... Hi to anyone else out there..
-
Hey Heather and Hoody,
The weekend was a blast!! Had such a great party with little man and my mum turning 60. We hired a hall, had about 70 adults and kiddies come, and there was a private courtyard with a trampoline, sandpit, slides, swings, seesaw etc. It was unreal, all under shadecloth and big enough to keep them all amused for a few hours.
We hired a helium tank and inflated 50 balloons, all of which ended up tangled and popping, but was $50 well spent cos the kids were entertained for almost the whole time collecting as many as they could off the roof (they had strings attached). Caden had a ball cos the kids kept running up to him and giving him balloons, at one stage I thought he might lift off!
I will be putting some photos on facebook if anyone is interested, just as soon as my BIL sends me his photos. I was too busy running around all day to take any myself.
His theme was BLUE and I made him a sailor suit to wear and a blue boat cake. It all looked fantastic and other than a minor tumble where he ended up with a graze on his head  he did really really well.
WE got heaps of great pressies and he is a spoiled rotten munchkin!
Ok, birthday debrief done!
Hoody - great to hear Molly is doing well, it is funny how much we all stress when they aren't "up" with the other kids, but by about 3 they are all the same anyway and you simply can't tell who were the early birds or not. And really, while you look at your own bub and compare them with other bubs that can do so much, other mums are looking at Molly and thinking how great she is being so content and wishing their bubs were the same! I guess we all want what we don't have :wall:
Heather - if nursing is your dream hun, then go for it! That is my motto. I believe that if you really want to do something then it is up to you to do it, and you will be happier if you follow your dream (within reason of course ;)). I was a Career Counsellor for a few years while studying at uni and I came across alot of people that really wanted to do something but talked themselves out of it because of the time/money/effort. But I believe that the time passes anyway, and three years goes by you will either have the degree or you wont, but the time WILL pass, so you may as well use it. If you do something you love, then the rest falls into place anyway.
As for my study, I think I will just finish off the last 3 units of my psych degree and go from there. I get so worried that time is passing and I am slipping behind, but then I have to remind myself that it is not a race and I need to enjoy life a bit more (and my bubba).
Well, that is all for me, must go phone up aircon places to get quotes,
TTFN :p

Hello all (whoever is listening)
Been an interesting week, DH has been doing a contract so has been working 12 hour days for the last week. Is pretty hard having Caden all to myself, although I have really tried to make the most of it as it is my last week of maternity leave :(
Caden is speaking so much gibberish now. He tries to say banana, yummy, duck, dog, and other stuff that doesnt really make sense but he uses it for specific things. Like he says Doch, like in a Russian accent, for balloon. He makes the same sound every time he sees one, and will point and say it! Very cute but I wish I knew what it meant :wall:
Am starting to think about having another bub. I don't think I am ready yet, but it is starting to form in my head, like the idea of being pregnant again, and having the bub in my tummy. Having all the scans etc. It probably doesn't help that 2/3rds of the women in my mothers group are trying for number two already, and 2 are already pregnant  I would really like to start trying this time next year though, I think for us that would be a nice age gap.
Well, that's all for me. I have some fluffy mail coming soon, night nappies, so that should be fun. Caden wakes up with a much emptier nappy these days, so I might be brave and give it a go, wish me luck,
Have a good week!
-
Hey DB,
Not too much time just now.. Have a little girl with chicken pox :wall: and DH has been so great the last few days while I have been at work, he has some 'him time'..
It is tuff when DH's away, but makes it all the more special when he is home!!
Having others talk about adding to the family (like in your thread) does sneak into your head, but remember that it is your life and family and do it when you are ready!! We are about to go down the TTC path again this month, but only cause we want to..
The gibberish sounds so cute doesn't it.. And it would be wonderful to understand them. :p but then again, maybe the embarrasing questions would start sooner. hehehe
Have fun with the nappies!! I am planning on getting myself sorted with cloth for number 2. We have Kimmy in them every now and then, but only have about 6 MCN, so not enough for a full supply.. What are your favorites? I am very open to ideas!!
Anyhow, off for brekky then got to shoot out to Medicare and an undercover wear party (DH's only daddy duty today..)
take care hun..
-
Hey Heather,
I use Itti Bittis, and have the snap in AIOs but I think I like the sewn in ones better but I only have 2 of those.
Am deliberating as to whether I should order some more, or just more snap in boosters, cos they are cheaper. Ho hum, will see. I have about 12 in total, with about 4 spare boosters, plus some pocket change nappies which aren't too bad but are heaps bulkier. I like them cos I use them like slip on nappies for when we are out and about.
I have just bought baby beehinds nappies for night, with extra boosters and woolen soaker, so fingers crossed it works for night!
As for #2, you are right, it is up to each individual. I am in no hurry to start trying just yet, we have to move and lots of other stuff. It wouldn't be the end of the world of course, and I would be thrilled, but it is probably not the right time.
Having said that, I still haven't had AF yet and am waiting her arrival. I am still feeding Caden a morning and night feed, so maybe it will come back once I have ceased feeding all together? That could be months away hopefully.
Well, first day back at work today  It was actually very good and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I had subway for lunch and had a really relaxing day, knocking off early to go buy a stroller, some big shells for Caden, and other random retail therapy items . At least I am earning money now!
Well, best be off cos it is late and I realy need some sleep, Have a great week!
-
Hi Hoody, Dragonbub and Heather
Ok so I feel a bit sheepish coming back here after all this time. But I miss you guys. So much has happened in the last few months, I got the flu, we went to New Zealand for a month and I started back at work 3 days a week. I feel like i have no time anymore. I have occasionally come on and read, but just not posted. I hope you don't mind if I come back and join you guys. I probably won't be on lots but I will try and get myself organised (something I really struggle with at the moment).
Ok so if you still want to hear from me here is what has been happening here with Jacob and I. He turned 1 on Tuesday which was really exciting. I can't believe how fast the time has gone and how much things have changed. He is now walking on his own (started doing that a couple of weeks ago) and is very confident. We haven't had too many tumbles at all!! He is eating heaps and loving feeding himself, although that causes problems when he tries to feed himself soup or something equally as messy. He is also getting very vocal which is fun. I am sure he is saying something very important because he is quite loud and forceful.
We do seem to be getting a few tamtrums though when he doesn't get his way and has started waking up at night over the last week and getting very upset if we leave him. I guess thats just a stage though.
He is starting to show awareness of interesting things too - like today he had his shirt off and was playing with his belly so then he came over to me lifted my shirt up and started playing with my belly. He then hunted DH down to do the same thing.
Oh and now I am back at work. I am actually quite enjoying working again, but relieved it is only 3 days a week. At the moment that is more than enough for me. It has been really hard leaving Jacob and some days he does get upset when I leave which doesn't help.
Oh and he has just started crawling. Yes I know that usually comes before walking, but Jacob decided to do things a little differently.
Still breastfeeding in the morning and night which is good, although the teeth do present a bit of a challenge at times.
Looking at all the photos of your beautiful kids and they all look so grown up! Happy birthday Caden for weeks ago. Molly and Kimberely aren't too far away either.
Ok well thats my update. I am sure there are things I have missed, but wanted to get back in touch with you all.
-
Hi June, Welcome back!!
It is great to hear what Jacob is up to, even though I only have to drive 20 mins to see you.
Everyone else.. Hello....
A lot has been happening here too.. Kimmy had the chicken pox last week but was a real champ.. Only one scar and even though she stayed with my parents, was amazing. Just a little clingy so Mum tells me.. I also found another tooth yesterday, so that might have helped with being clingy.
I am at work f/t till the end of the year (my old job, minus the supervisor responsibilities) and if I ever get to an interview that has been postponed 3 times, might have a p/t job lined up for next year..
Kimmy had her party yesterday and it was a great day, but I can't believe how tiring it was. For the 1st time ever, Kim was in for a long nap. She went down about 1010 and her party was supposed to be at 11. Even though my dad kept checking on her, and the house was full of people, she didn't wake. Mum and I went and woke her about 1130 and the look on her face when she saw all the people was priceless. Sheer suprise, and then she was just into it.. Seeing everyone, and the little socialite crawled up to every person there to say hi.. so cute.
IT was torture day today. Kimmy got her injections, and as we are ready to go down the TTC path again :shhh: , DH and I got whooping cough vaccines. We had talked about it and decided we wanted to in case we had a bub in winter when all the coughs and flus go around (so please no negative comments about the vaccines).. And then I went to the dentist tonight.. So now, we are just waiting for AF, the way I am feeling, any day now..
Should really be off now.. Had a me day today that didn't go to plan.. But that's life. Must get my act together so I actually make it into work tomorrow.. Hehehe..
Hope everyone is well and thanks for letting me babble away...

Heather- WTG on the TTC:) I found out i was UTD the same weekend as DD1's 1st birthday. So glad Kimmy had an awesome b'day party (her birthday isnt until fri though am i right?). Have you put pics up on FB? I will have to have a look. SOrry to hear about the chicken pox but i guess better now than when she's bigger iykwim. Will she still need the Vac against it at 18months? And also How on earth do you cope working FT?
June- OMG i wondered what happened to you. SO glad you could come and join us again. This thread has gone a bit pear shaped but maybe if we all try and post once a week or so it will still carry on :) Jacob looks so big in your ticker and sounds like he is doing awesomely.
DB- Glad to hear you enjoyed your first day back at work, Happy belated birthday to Caden :) I did read and meant to post that week but things have been a bit hectic here. Do you have FB set up? If you do add me :)
OK now where do i start? Molly is 1 on thurs :o where has the last year gone? She is doing really well and into everything at the moment. Still not pulling herself up yet but i doubt it will be long. She is saying clearly daddy, mumma, mi (for mia her sister) bye, dog and lots of other things she will mimic and try and say but these are 100% defs that i've written. We are having a big party at home on Sat and i cant wait. Things have been really stressful as of late as DH and i have been really rocky. I think we even had divorce papers in the house lol. Anyway we have cleared the air and things are by no means fixed but we are working on the marriage for now. I will come back an post again soon i promise :)

Hey guys....anyone remember me?
I'm not on BB as much these days and don't get much time to post. Have just been catching up which wasn't hard considering how quiet it's been in here!
Things are going really well for us. DS turned 1 last saturday and we had a little party for him. He had a ball and loved eating his cake!
He finally started sleeping through the night (11.5-12hrs) just before 10 months and not a minute too soon! LOL. We are still b'feeding, down to 3 feeds a day. Expressing is becoming harder so I might look at dropping the middle of the day feed on the days I work. It's only 2 days but I would like to hang on to those feeds for a few more months.
He has 8 teeth, has started walking although he still prefers to crawl most of the time! His favourite word/s at the moment are 'dog' and 'woof woof' LOL. Too cute.
No plans for TTC here. You may remember DS is an IVF bub and although I'd love another, DH just isn't up for it. Working on being OK with that but it's hard at times...
Working 2 days a week as I said and completely and utterly bored with it. Thinking about studying next year and have applied for 2 courses but they are competitive so not really expecting to get in. We'll see....
Glad to hear you and your bubs are all well. Will try to make an effort to pop in and post from time to time.
Hard to believe a year has passed...can't believe how much all the bubs have grown, especially Molly!
-
Well, we all come out of the woodwork.... I'm another who is incredibly slack - although I do pop in from time to time to see how you are with the good intentions of posting, and then the time just goes wherever it goes. We'd have to be the slowest moving baby buddies thread in the history of BB I think LOL.
Euan's not quite a year yet - I think he's the youngest of the bunch. He'll be one on the 28th November, so a couple of weeks away yet.
He's been walking for a while now - he took first steps at exactly 10 months, within a couple of weeks he could make it across the lounge room and back, and started standing by himself just before 11 months. He has a ball which he chases around the house and it keeps him entertained for ages. He now thinks it's fantastic fun to climb up onto the coffee table and then walk across it, but hasn't quite got the gravity thing yet and tries to keep walking when there is no longer any coffee table to walk on. So far we've caught him each time, but last night we caught him standing on the back of the couch trying to pull the picture off the wall. That could have been interesting...
He's got six teeth (got them all at once, then decided that was enough for a while), is somewhere around 11kg and 80cm tall, sometimes shocks us by sleeping 8 hours for a few nights in a row before going back to waking at ridiculous times (his 'normal' bedtime is 11:00pm - his choice, not ours), can say mum and dad when he remembers them but has been too busy motoring round like a little demon to really bother with learning words, which is quite typical that babies who develop motor skills early often develop language skills later and vice versa.
He still boob feeds like his life depended on it, and can pretty much take or leave solids. He'll eat them, and get pretty excited about them at times, but at others doesn't want anything to do with them. Although today at mum's group I discovered that if there was food on the floor (as there always is at mum's group LOL), he'd hoover it up straight away. So maybe I should just leave food on the floor for him instead
As with Willow, there's no plans to TTC for another - although we might go back for another go at some point.
Hoody, I'm sorry to hear about your marriage problems hon, but really glad to hear that you're working on it.
Heather - good luck with TTC! And have lots of fun doing it ;)
June - welcome back!! Hey, I struggle with organisation too, we can only do what we can, right?
DB - congratulations on a good and cruisy first day back at work. That sounds kinda nice really. Although Euan's been asleep for 2 1/2 hours this afternoon and apart from cleaning the bathroom and oven I've spent all my time online, so I can't complain.
Here's some recent photos of Euan, and here and here's some photos of Euan and I having nice carrier cuddles.
Oh, and DB - favourite nappies (there's a few others like Lotus nappies that are my favourite night nappies and AI2s but they're not made anymore, and Beetlebums which are awesome WAHM made pockets):
Pockets - Green Kids, Blueberry
A12s - Itti Bitti D'lish (Snap in), Berry Plush, Wild Child
Fitteds - Cute Tooshies Bamboo, Tots Bots Bamboozles
Covers - Sugarpeas wool for day or night, Mazalicious fleece or minky, BearBottoms Maldon Mills fleece for night,
-
So frustrating! Did a big long post and it didn't work :(
Anyhoo, here's another one...
Willow - welcome back hun, of course I remember you! Glad to hear your little man is going well and still bfing. I hear you on the expressing, I have just stopped doing an evening express after doing it for 12 months. It feels a bit weird but it is better this way, and besides, the little fella is still on 2 feeds a day and doesn't really need my milk on his cereal anymore  Sorry to hear about your TTC and DH dramas. My DH was like that up until just recently when we had a bit of a scare, and he reacted so well to the news, even though it turned out to be BFN. He has gone from "never" to "lets talk about it in a year or two" which makes me very happy. I guess with all your dramas with IVF etc it must make it hard for him to have another go. Fingers crossed in time he will rack up the courage
Suse - Glad to hear Euan is going well. Caden took his first steps about 4 days before 10 months but was actually walking at 10 months and 6 days. LOL about the climbing everything. we have a little monkey here too, it must be a boy thing? He pretends to be a crusty demon and tries to stand on his rocking horse. Like you, he hasn't fallen off yet but I am sure he will in time. I have some night nappies, baby beehinds, that I have just washed and will try tomorrow night.
Heather - good luck with the TTC. I think it is great that you are getting the injection. I might look into that myself soon. Glad the little miss enjoyed her party :p it is such a lovely milestone to celebrate. Don't know how you work full time, I think the 3 days for me is a really good balance. You must be miracle woman! Hopefully a pt job works out for you.
Hoody - sorry to hear about your DH dramas. I know our marriage has had its ups and downs and we only have one bub! It is really hard to reconnect, not resent them, and communicate. We are actually seeing a counsellor through relationships australia tomorrow to discuss some things. Luckily the dust has settled a bit and we are both enjoying our family alot more, but like you divorce papers were floating around for a while . More from my end than DHs, he thinks everything is perfect :wall:. Anyway, we are sorting it out but I think the most important thing is to make "together" time where you are both together with no babies. Call on anyone to help, friends, parents, ANYONE to look after the girls for a night so you can go out together.
June - dont be silly! It was so nice to come in here and see all these posts. Glad to hear Jacob is doing well. LOL about the walking THEN crawling. I am doing 3 days as well which I find to be the best balance for my job and for Caden. He goes to family day care which is so nice and I feel fine leaving him in such good hands. The lady who looks after him is so wonderful and caring and gives him lots of cuddles. It makes it so much easier to leave him, although I end up getting to work at 10am and leaving by 3.45 on account of the hour drive it takes to get from home to work :wall:. We will be moving soon which will cut down the travel time but means I will have to take CAden out of his family day care and find somewhere else :(.
AS for us, Caden is cutting 2 molars, the top and bottom left. They look so red and painful with blood blisters and grizzly bits of skin (TMI). He has a cold with it as well so lots of boogies and coughing, poor bub. I haven't given him his one year shots yet because of the teeth. I figure he has enough pain to be getting on with right now without adding more!
I have had some bad news. I got an abnormal result on a pap smear recently and need to get a coloscopy done. My sister had to have a procedure this year where they removed some pre-cancerous tissue, so it looks like maybe I have the same thing. I am not too worried because I researched it for my sister and I know the risks are really small etc, it is just not a nice thing to have happen and I would rather not have to deal with it. Not to worry, I am sure it will all be fine in the end. Although it is supposedly not inherited, my mother and sister both had it, so it makes you wonder huh?
Well, I hope this works cos I can't be bothered writing it again! Have a great week everyone,
-
Hehe - looks like I started a bit of an avalanche of people returning to the thread. Yay!
Heather - so glad to hear that Kimmy has recovered from the chickenpox. Sounds like she was pretty brave for you. Glad she hasn't scarred much. Wow TTC - good luck hun. How exciting. Its not something I think I am mentally ready for yet, maybe in a few years time.
Hoody - its a deal. I promise to post at least once a week from now on. See if I set myself realistic goals and timeframes i'm fine :D Molly looks amazing - such a real little girl now. In fact no-one of our babies look like babies anymore do they. Sorry to hear that things haven't been too rosy with DH. Being parents and making a relationship work is so hard. So glad that you guys are working on it though.
Willow - so happy you are sleeping through there. Jacob has only done that once so far. Most nights though I am only up once so its not too bad. I guess I haven't really pushed the sleep thing with him, let him find his own pattern at night. I hope you and DH can work out when you want to TTC next. I could imagine watching your partner go through IVF must be pretty hard. I know its hard on you too, but guys hate it when they can't do anything to "fix" things.
suse - lol about the coffee table. So far noone of that here! The photos of Euan are just wonderful!! Isn't it funny how they will eat anything up off the floor. Jacob is pretty good being fed and loves his food. Now he is really getting into finger food and eating informally (so not in the high chair). He is much happier walking around the house with food in hand (which makes cleaning a fun exercise)
DB - Oh hun thinking of you. Its not good getting news like that. Fingers crossed that the news turns out to be good. Oh and not good about the teething either. Poor Caden. Jacob is not a good teether either, so I'm not looking forward to the molars.
We are doing a mixture of family day care and family at the moment. Had a friend who was looking after him three days a week but her youngest didn't like not being the baby anymore and they stopped looking after him. Thankfully DH could rearrange work and now takes a day off a week, mum looks after him one day and a family day care mum another day. Its a bit confusing and messy at the moment, but if I want to keep working we don't have much choice. I have a family day care mum lined up for the three days from next year, so hopefully we can get into some sort of routine.
Not much else to report here. Jacob is getting cheekier by the minute and trying to test his boundaries. It can be pretty funny at times and he is usually not being naughty. Although he has taken to squealing if we pull him away from something he shouldn't be touching. Last night my Uncle had a gallery opening and there were sculptures on the floor. Of course he wanted to play with them, so we pulled him away. He let out this almight squeal. Bit embarressing but there wasn't much we could do.
Oh it feels good to be "talking" to you all again.

HI Everyone,
thought I had better say hi now instead of the normal thought I have of 'I'll pop back later and do it', cause it never happens.. But don't take it personally, I am just as slack on FB.
DB - big  hope the results come back ok.. And as they found it early, your chances are so much better..
Hoody - hope things are becoming smoother for you and DH! At least you have worked out there is a problem and you are working on it.. That is a great start.. Saw your pic's on fb, looks like Molly had a ball at her party!
Willow - It is great to hear from you. What are you looking at studying? You never know your chances of getting in, they are often happy to place 'mature' students rather than straight out of school.. GL..
Suse - Euan is so cute.. (and I nearly fell of my chair when looking at the photos, you look so much like my SIL..). Poor Euan, 6 teeth at once.. I went through a phase of leaving food on the floor.. I would put it on a plastic lid, Kim would tip it up, then go and get it a few minutes later.. Oh and mine buries food.. You would be amazed where you find biscuits..:rolleyes:
June - glad you have found something more perm for daycare next year, but look on the bright side, this year is almost over. :wall: LOL at him getting cheeky.. Kim is doing the same, and the squealing, arghhhh...
Um.. We are back to peace.. Just the 3 of us.. All visitors gone.. As much as I love seeing my family, always nice to see them leave too.. Kimmy has been a real grump today with some molars coming through, but am sure she will be fine in a day or 2. She is now walking with a walker, but not yet confident in letting me or DH hold her. But she can get a long way when she wants to. Working f/t isn't easy, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel. And I would never have done it if we didn't have bills to pay (all one off expenses, so not that torturous).. I am sheepishly slipping in a sick day, or planned day off each week.
Anyhow, must be off and go to bed. Kim has decided that 5-5.30 is a nice time to wake in the morning.. Take care everyone...

Just a quicky as i am about to go to bed. Molly's party was awesome she had a ball as heather said the pics are on FB if anyone want to see them. Glad everyone is posting again :) I will do a decent post in a day or two but i have tonsilitis at the moment and TBH feel like i am dying.
