Hi all,
Last night I started to get pain in my right boob (first thought was mastitis) so I got in the shower to try to find a lump but couldn't. Then as the night went on just kept getting worse, so this morning we went up to see the Midwife who is a LC and she had a look and thinks it is a blocked duct even though I can't find the lump and not mastitis yet. So I'm really hoping it goes away before getting worse!!!!!!
So I'm not in a great mood and DH is just being an idiot! Men really are from a different planet!!!! :wall:
Hope everyone is having a good Sunday, sorry about the 'me' post, just needed to vent!
-
Hippie - I hope your duct clears up hun, make sure he has a great feed on that side and drains the breast to help it clear out as well. Try and angle his chin to where you feel the most pain too - so if you feel sore on the right under your arm try football hold so that it clears it. Aren't men just pains at times. Mine drives me nuts too at times.
Quiet in here today - everyone must be having exciting weekends! :)
-
Mia's having another skitz. shes been crying since about 2pm and i dont know why!!! ive tried everything!!!!!!!!!! :(
-
Hollye - How was the rest of your day and night hun? Did Mia settle for you??
I have SO much housework to do today - luckily Izzy got up at 6  Why can't both of my poppets sleep at the same time and give me a sleep in!! Ah well! Have a good day ladies- I have a MCHN appointment for James today! Yay can't wait to see how much he weighs, I think it will be just under 6kgs! :) Izzy's appointment is on Friday and both are due for needles but they are both sick so they will just have to wait until they are 100%.
-
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo i woke up this morning and went to the toilet and guess what????????????????? Yep u all got it! AF is back!!!!!!!!! Nooooooooooooooooooooooo
This is so not fair - why couldn't it just stay away for the rest of the year???
Has anyone else's returned?
Apart from that dreadful news - Bianca has been going pretty well - and sleeping really well - the best so far has been 2130-0630 and that was AMAZING! Last night was a bit yucky with 2 get ups but im not complaining since the last few nights have been atleast 6hrs straight!
Apart from that not much to tell here!
Hope everyone and their bubs are well!
-
Morning all!
HJ- I think mine has returned too. How funny that I say 'I think'. Well I had some bleeding for about three days so who knows. I hope not!!! Glad to hear your getting more sleep!
Tan-I'm with you on the housework! So much to do . Thanks for your help re sore boob! The pain is under my boob (like where my bra sits, so I don't know how to feed him with his chin there!)
Hollye-How's Mia?
Well my boob is feeling MUCH better, still sore but definelty on the mend. I have been putting a heat pack on before a feed and an ice pack on after and that has made such a difference!! And I have been massaging the area heaps, even though I still can't find the lump! So hopefully it is passing!
Ok off to have some brekkie!

morning all!
I am feeling freash as a daisy this morning, Jacob slept from 11:00pm last night till 5 am this morning! as a result my boobs are killing me, but its all good ;)
tan- I have a sore lump under my right arm, in my arm pit, I was thinking its just one of those glands but do you think it could be a blocked duct or something? I dont feel sick or anything, but there is no way I want to experience mastitis if i can help it!
hollye- I hope mia settled for you, Jacob has been going thru a bit of a grizzly stage, I am guessing its that whole 6 week thing....
hippie- glad your boob feels better, my boobs are always so lumpy!! I massage them every time I feed and in the shower, I am so paranoid about mastitis!! I have a huge supply and Jacob hardly ever drains the whole lot, so I whip out the pump, I have quite a good stash of frozen ebm now for the festive season!!
hj- sorry about af hun, funny isnt it, how we dont want it back now but last year we were all moaning about wanting it back to ttc asap!!:p
if it makes you feel any better I am STILL bleeding from having Jacob, also I usually am up 2x a night to feed him.
leigh26- it has been freezing in adelaide! where the hell has summer gone???? it rained for 2 days straight! every time I have been out I have had to rug poor J up like its winter....beanie, 2 blankets etc.
well, Jacob is smiling a lot more now, he even laughed the other day, but he was asleep when he did it! dp and I are acting like idiots trying to get him to laugh, but no, not interested....
off to ikea today, cant wait, mmmm meatballs!!
hope you all have a great day!!
-

STARRY - How true is that!!!! LOL - But now that i have my little girl it can stay away - at least until when im ready to maybe try again! i really hope u dont get mastitis - it is sooooo not nice!

Hi Everyone,
Olive is also sleeping well now. On friday night she slept fron 9:30-4:30, she then fed, and was asleep again by 5 and slept til 9 giving me the best nights sleep i've had in 8wks, it was heaven! She's going for her needles today which i'm still freaking about. My sister was saying that she BF her girls and they didn't even cry so I think I may brave it and do that. She was also told by the nurse not to give panadol immediatly because it masks any symptoms and you don't know if she will have an allergy to it or if it's just the vaccines.
Tan - my Dh also sucks when it comes to shopping. We went yesterday. He gets what he needs then rapidly gets over it and wants to go home. I hardly ever go with him cause I love shopping and he just spoils the experience, ah men...
Leigh26 - I also work in childcare but we only take 2-6yr olds at my centre so Olive can't come with me. Did you work in the same room as your DD? I think I would find that hard but it would be nice to have her close by. I also hope that with the hours i'm doing I can still BF. I do find that most people assume I can take my baby to work but unfortunatly the mortgage has to be paid and I think the hours i'm doing are an ok compromise.
Hollye - Glad everything went well in Geelong. How is Mia? Did you take her to the doctors?
Have a great day everyone.:)
-
Olive'smummy - when i had B and they were doing the heel ***** - they told me to breast feed her while they were taking her blood as ur breast milk is like a natural pain relief for them - the heel ***** took ages and it was a fair bit of blood - but not once did she scream, cry or do anything! She was very relaxed and not bothered by it! i was the one stressing and getting upset! so maybe it is a good idea if u BF Olive while the needle is being given!
Goodluck with it all today!

My little man won't sleep today!! He is soooo tired but won't stay asleep and I have so much to do today!!!! :wall: :wall: :wall:

Hi Girls, hope you all had a great weekend.
Hollye - Man I feel sorry for you, glad Mia finally settled down for you. I hate when Lara cries and cries and nothing I do seems to help.
Olivesmum - No DD1 wasnt in the same room as me but at play time she was in the same yard as my group was. So it was good that I still got to spend some time with her. I used to go and visit her on my lunch break though but most of the time she was asleep.
HJ - Bugger about AF returning, I enjoyed all those months without her but I am the same as starrysky, I am still bleeding from when I had Lara and I am soooooo over it!
Starrysky - Glad you had a great night sleep hun, makes you feel so much better hey. Lara has been sleeping well the last few nights. Going down around 11:30pm and sleeping through til 8:30 - 9:30 am so I'm not complaining. I got a bad sleep last night though coz we had storms all night.
Tan and Olivesmummy - My DH sucks at shopping too. He hates it and always rushes me. He hates the fact that I like to go from shop to shop and have a good look around. He gets annoyed coz I see something I like then dont buy it then go back at the end and get it. ha ha.
Hippie - Lara wont sleep today either and I've got heaps of stuff to do too. We're having xmas day here so I need to get cleaning and try and get organised. Glad your boob is feeling better.
For those of you who have had girls (or have older children as girls) are you getting your DD's ears pierced? Or what age did you get them done? I got DD1's done at 12 months but everyone keeps telling me I should get Lara's done soon, before she can roll and while she doesnt pull on her ears etc. I feel kind've bad getting them done early coz she is so little and I don't want to hurt her but people said she wont even remember. When I got DD1's done at 12 months I used the emla numbing cream and the place I got it done at had 2 piercing guns and did both ears at the same time.
Better go, hi to everyone I have missed.
-
Leigh - we are not getting Bianca's ears pierced any time soon - we are going to let her decide if she wants them done when she is old enough!
Hippie - is ur little man asleep yet? i have finally just got Bianca down!!!!
-
HJ - Yeah I am thinking I am going to wait until Lara is at least 1 year old. Shes too little and I dont want to put her through any pain just yet.
-
HJ- He is sleep at the moment, he is basically waking every 10 minutes, it's driving me nuts!!!!
Leigh-I agree with HJ, I would wait and let her decide, she might not want to get them done!

Hi girls,
Liam had his needles today. He did pretty well. I hadn't heard about BF him to stop the pain - so i didn't. ;) But then again, in hospital they did the Hep B while he was BF and he still screamed (& probably thought I'd done it to him!). The heel ***** she sent me out of the room (thankyou!) and he cried a little then settled right down. Today he had some stuff squirted into his mouth - which he was fine with; had 1 needle in the leg - he cried a little but settled down quickly; then had the 'ouchie' one in the other leg - he cried and cried and went red in the face. But it only took a few minutes for him to settle down with some cuddles. Awww. Went shopping straight after and he was fine, fell asleep towards the end and has quickly settled to sleep all arvo for hours at a time (not typical). He has had some 'woah is me' cries (oh so cute, with his bottom lip shaking) when feeding, i think maybe coz the needle points were hurting even though I tried not to touch them. I gave him panadol at one point (about 3 hours after he was done), and he fell straight asleep and didn't want to feed anymore, but haven't given him anymore.
Grrr. I want to do personals but i'm exhuasted. I'll try to get in here more often so i don't sound so selfish and just post about me. But I'm glad everyone's bubs seem to be sleeping more at night. girls.

hey hey.
Mia went nuts again today so i took her to the doctors. Doc seems to think she has reflux and abit of colic she just cant win! So he has put her on a new formula to help the reflux and if that doesnt help then he wants me to put a little baby rice in her bottle. So today she did scream for 2 hours but it was hell of alot better than 8! Atm im so exhausted and just plain over it. Is it bad for me to feel this way?
So i got her to settle at 7pm and she has been asleep ever since.
It really feels like im losing the battle here. She was so good and now she has just turned evil! lol
so thats my day...
Re ears.. Mia will prob get hers done the year she starts school (if she wants that is) i think it looks stupid when kids are too young. Sorry thats just my opinion.
