Babies Born October 16th ~ 31st 2008 #2

Hi Girls,

Tan - James is such a cutie, the nappies look great. Poor Izzy with the nappy rash, hope it clears up soon.

Blizz - Bummer about AF returning. I'm still bleeding from having Lara (9 wks) and it is driving me nuts. Its mainly spotting but enough to annoy me. Think it is from the implanon. I go to the dr with Lara on Friday for her needles so I'll be asking him what the go is with the bleeding.

Lara is our last child (coz I can't have anymore kids, pretty sure I told you girls why when I first joined this thread). We have almost a 3 1/2 year gap between DD1 and Lara. I wanted my kids closer together but miscarried in between but now I am actually glad that they have a bit of a gap between their ages. DD1 is such a good helper and I also go to enjoy her on her own for a few years before Lara came along. My sisters two kids are just on 14 months apart and I see how busy she is.

Sorry for the lack of personals but I have to go get dinner organised. Hope everyone has a good new years. We're just staying home I think.

Hi girls - it feels like ages since i have been in here. We are doing well, Logan is now 6.18kg and 59cm he has grown 800g and 4cm in 4 weeks!! We have had to put him into the cot as he is too big for the bassinette. He is much happier as he has room for his arm and legs to move around - he is kicking all the time!! We are having our needles next week - i am making DH come with me too!

Blizz - i haven't got AF back yet. Have decided not to go on the pill for that reason!! I want to leave it as long as possible LOL

Tan - I started using cloth, but we have been so busy out and about that we have been using sposies exclusively for the last few weeks. I should really try and get back into the habit of wearing cloth again.

Hollye - I think we will be not waiting too long to have our next - I am 32 this year so will prob start trying again when he is around 1. I would love to have 3 kids :) My cousin has 3 kids under 3 (3, 2 and 5 months) and she said it is really hard work! I don't think i want them that close together.

wow kylie hes getting so big now.. they grow up way too quick dont they :(

Mia is asleep in her cot without a fuss!!! (thanks to Katones) ahhH!! pure bliss... what to do?!?!? dishes?? mayb.. lunch.. yes LUNCH!! (first time in weeks i have been able to have lunch at LUNCH time!)

Hollye - how did things end up last night?

Kylie - Bianca has her needles on the 7th but DH can't come with me! :( im so not looking forward to it!!!!
I also have my "6wk" check up on the 7th! i AM looking forward to that! i just wanna see me OB again - funnily enough i miss her! how weird am i?! hahaha

HJ - We are going to a friends place for a bbq - nothing big just 6 adults and a few little kids. I have made a delicious white choc raspberry cheesecake to take. Maybe I will have a drink after Logan is asleep - that's ok isn't it?

I had no problems getting Logan to sleep in the cot but he isn't in it at night yet as we don't have a monitor and the room is too far away. I don't want to only hear him once he is screaming. This morning i put him in at 8am and he happily played for a bit (he loves his mobile) and then fell asleep, he only woke up at 12:30 and i hadn't fed him since 7am so that was a big one. I was leaking everywhere by the time he fed!!!

Kylie - have fun at the BBQ :) and ofcourse u can have a couple drinks once he is asleep.. :) its the staying up till midnight and getting to sleep say.. 1am then dealing with a bub at 6am.. hrrmm so not sure if i will see midnight lol

Kylie - yep a drink or 2 is fine - do it after a breastfeed - or even express and u can have a few more if u wanted too! sounds like a nice night tho!

1stbub.... I work from home doing Family Day Care, my mums done it for 20 years and I got involved in it 6 years ago when Britney was born so I could be at home with her and still bring in a wage! Plus I love kids so it wasn't a very hard decision to make!

I hope you all had a great chrissy!!! We did lunch for 20 people this year so we were quite busy here!

On the Hayden front,
He was weighed in last tuesday at 5.2kg and had put a kilo on in 3 weeks the midwife says he's on the 50% but will most likely return to the 75% that he was born on. We're doing well with breast feeding although it still hurts when he first latches! Hayden's been smiling for around 2 weeks now and making little cooing sounds. Have to watch him like a hawk as he can roll front to back already he will roll the other way if he's slightly on one side. He has great head control and will hold his head up and his little bum is up in the air and the legs are moving so I'm guessing he'll be an earlier crawler! I think he just doesn't want to missout, Britney and Joshuah love him to bits and from the smiles he gives them I'm pretty sure it goes both ways! Amazing how kids love kids!!! Well enough of my rambling!

I haven't posted in a while so not really up to date but wanted to say hi and hope you had fun last night. I stayed home while hubby went fishing then we he got home at about 10:30pm I got up and and expressed and had a wine with him which was nice. DH and a friend offered to look after Olive if I wanted to go out but i'm just not ready yet, have any of you left your bubs yet to go out? I can't believe how quickly time flies, a week since xmas already! Olive is good, finally did that poo while out shopping on tuesday - it had been 9 days and she was getting really cranky. I thought that BF babies didn't get constipated? I can't believe my news involves talking about poo these days, the joys of motherhood hey. That night she slept for 10hrs though which was fantastic. Another reason i've been a bit quiet on the forums is all the expressing I have to do, gets very tiring. Olive is smiling and talking so much now and is getting right into her toys, she picked one up this morning and thought she was very clever and so did I.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Here is to a great 2009!!!

Well we were very boring last night and stayed home. It was raining up here so there wasn't much point taking the kids to see the early fire works at 9pm. I went to bed at 11pm then DH came in at 11:58pm and woke me to say Happy New Year at midnight, I then couldnt go back to sleep :wall: lucky Lara slept in until 8:10am this morning.

Hi to everyone, hope you all had a great new years eve. Sorry for the lack of personals. I've got Lara's needles tomorrow. I told DH he can hold her coz with DD1 I had to hold her everytime. I bet I end up holding Lara through all hers as well. I bet I cry too.

Hope you all had a great night! We had a ball with our dress up party, but Izzy was sick - blergh - threw up at about 1115 and 1145! Good timing the poor love but we had fun anyway! I've uploaded pics of costumes etc in the gallery! I have one of me dressed up feeding James too! Little punk man!!

Off to do some more MCN shopping! My lovely gorgeous BB friend Oshani gave me a voucher to spend for Xmas naughty girl, feeding my obsession!! :D Have a great relaxing night and hugs to bubs!

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.

I didn't see in the new year, went to bed at 11pm, but someone in the neighbourhood was letting off fireworks and we had some idiots driving too fast past the front of our house (we live inbetween two round-abouts).

Olivesmum b/fed babies can go up to two weeks without doing a poo, so I don't think that Olive was consipated, usually it means that they are having a growth spurt and are using more of your breast milk to grow.

I know how you feel, I hate needles and I'm always the one taking the monkeys for them! I've got Haydens next week and not looking forqard to it as I'll have the 2 monkeys with me as well!

I had to leave Hayden for a christmas party that was strickly adults only, he was 6 weeks, it was horrible....... I wan't ready to leave him, we we're only gone for 3 hours all up but I didn't enjoy the party at all!

I didn't get to see the new year in - Bianca decided to play up and also have a bad case of reflux (another massive spew all over me) finally got her to sleep at 2330 than i jumped into bed and was out like a light bulb! couldnt stay up for last 30mins! oh well, i guess im not as young as i use to be! :(

Olivesmummy - i havent had to leave Bianca yet - but in saying that im going shopping with a friend today and DH is staying home to look after her - so that will be the first time i go out without her - and im not looking forward to it!

I'm having a boo hoo day today. DH's brother and SIL had a baby in Canada and we have decided that he will go and surprise them for a fortnight. Is it wrong of me to be SO jealous of him going and me home with 2 bubs? :( I guess it's because we haven't been away since Izzy was born plus I don't get a chance to do stuff like this anymore, love my kids dearly but I do wish I was going too. :( Off to clean before MIL comes to visit - hope you all had a great night!

Happy New Year everyone! Late I know, but we've been away camping again. Had a pretty good NYE. Not DH though...he passed out before midnight in a pool of his own vomit! Charming! :rolleyes: He's never done that before and because I was completely sober he was soooooo annoying!! He slept outside...yes outside because he was still passed out when I went to bed and I didn't want him in bed with us (because we co-sleep).

But apart from all that we've had a great time away. I'll be glad to spend some time at home though! Camping is a bit hard with a bub!!

And DS has conjuntivitis (sp?) so we are off to the doctors this arvo and also to get needles! Not going to be fun!

How's Bianca going??? My niece is called Bianca I love the name!!! Sooo cute for a little girl!!! They don't take long to grow up and two is completely different but I think that the 2.5 year age gap between Britney and Joshauh helped as Britney was able to help out with Joshuah! But they're well worth it and I love watching them play together!!!!

I agree with you it all changes once you have kiddlings! I also seem to be the one that stays home, but figure once they're older then I'll be able to go!

Well off to change Hayden he's left me a loverly yellow gift in his nappy from the smell! Gotta love them! lol

AmandaJ - The dr told me a few weeks ago that babies can go anywhere between 20 times a day and once every 20 days but I thought that because she usually goes every 2-3 days that she must have been constipated so thanks. Although I must say that by the end of the week she was getting really agitated and wouldn't sleep properly and kept on grunting all the time.
Olive is growing out of most 000's now and is mainly in 00's, she's getting so big! I went through her cupboard and had a clean out yesterday and had a little pang of sadness at how quickly she's growing, I won't be able to call her a newborn soon, she's 11wks today.
Tan - i'm having one of those days today as well. I can totally understand why you are feeling jealous, mum's don't get to have a break very often especially going overseas by ourselves.
HJ and Snowpea - I have left Olive for half an hour to go to the shops but thats it so far. I feel sorry for women that have to go back to work after a few weeks.
I am really p****d off because I have AF again and it's only been about a fortnight since the last one. I'm now feeling like I really want to go off the mini pill as I have also been really moody from it but there aren't that many other options, so am confused. Should I see the dr about the bleeding? Has anyone else experienced this before? Also my nipples are still f****d and i'm so sick of expressing but really don't want to give up. I've gotten behind which just makes it that extra bit harder and have been BF heaps again which made them sore. I wish Olive's mouth and my nipples could just co-exist in harmony.

Tan - i checked out ur pics - How good do u look!!!!!!!! Also i would be pretty upset about being left behind! that brought up something i was thinking about the other night - why are we the ones that have to make all the sacrifices and miss out on everything?

Snoopea - hahaha sorry! Bianca is going well - her silent reflux has turned into the vomiting reflux i think but apart from that she is a gem! growing up too fast tho! I was surprised at the reaction i got from ppl when they found out her name - wasnt too sure if many ppl would like it - but i love it - and so it turns out so do quite a few ppl! it suits her to i think!

Olivesmummy - i know what u mean about the pang of sadness - i was looking at pictures of Bianca when she was born and that brought tears to my eyes - she has grown soooooo fast! why is it ur 9months goes so slow and when they are born time flys? its not fair!

Well i lasted 3 hours out at the shops with Bianca today - i phone DH once and msg'd him twice so i thought i did pretty well - but apparently i talked non stop to my friend about her! i also had a bit of a teary when i got to the shops cause it felt wrong not having B with me - i wasnt even there when she woke up this morning - and im ALWAYS there - im the one that gets her out of her cot because i love it - but no not this morning - what a mean mummy i am!

Anyways i better go - we got ppl comming over soon for dinner - i hate entertaining in our small house - cant wait till we find a new house!

Mia has only just gone into 000's. 20% of her clothes are STILL 0000's! hrmmmm shes 10 weeks 1 day today :)

Well my cot success turned into a nightmare. shes in bed with us again. I dont know what else to try. HJ, we had her in the cot for about 5 nights when she came home and then she just refused to sleep in it.. so its not like we havent tried :(

I also didnt think anyone would like the name Mia but at the end of the day i didnt care, she was my daughter and all that mattered was i liked it. She could have ended up will Ella but it doesnt suit her. So im glad Mia suits her really well.

needles.. is that everyones bub now that has had their needles? now its just countdown for the 4 month ones!!! ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

HJ - I got some Gaviscon and some colic drops. so far seems to be working a treat. I just wish she would stop spewing. Not **** she will down say 140mls and throw up a good 40-50mls before her next feed. whats the deal with that? i wonder if i should go get it checked?

well shes awake again.. oh man im struggling with these day times sleeps!!!

Tan - I agree, I'd be sad not being able to go away as well. I always say to DH it isnt fair that I have to miss out on everything all the time while his life still gets to carry on as normal. Dont get me wrong I love my kids and wouldnt change them for the world but would be nice to be able to get away once in a while.

Hippiemummy - Glad you had a good time camping, apart from your DH's vomit ha ha, how was his hangover the next day? Hope the needles go well this arv.

Olives Mummy and HJ - I get sad too thinking how fast Lara is growing. She is still in 0000 but will soon be in 000. I said to my DH before that I am sad coz she is almost out of newborn nappies and will soon be in the infant size. He laughed at me.

Well Lara had her needles today. I held her while she got them. She cried, poor bub, but not for long lucky. Ive been giving her lots of cuddles ever since. She now weighs 5.2 kg (she was 2.7 kg born) and is 57 cm long (42cm born).

Hollye - we wanna stay in the same area, but i want a pool so house's in this area with pools are very expensive - so we have been looking at houses on the north side - which i dont really want to move to but we might have to!
Keep perservering with Mia and her sleep, its tough i know, but u will get there - u are doing well so far, whatever works for you just do it!
How long have u had Mia on the Gaviscon for? its good hey! give it a little bit more time and that might help with her spewing, cause it has a slight thickner in it so it might help her formula stay down! if it dosent and u are concerned than go get it checked out!
also Bianca's nap times have seemed to go out the window, she is only having 5-10mins here and there, and i have been pretty bad with not sticking to puting her down in her cot after her lunch time feed! she use to sleep around 1300-1600! silly me thinks oh well DH is on holidays she can stay up, but im now starting to think im just making things worse for when im on my own again! tut tut!
Bianca hasnt had her needles yet - she has them on the 7th!

Hayden's doing the same with his sleeps, only a cat nap here and there in the day but is still sleeping from 8pm to 4am sometimes 5 if I'm lucky!

Hayden goes of to sleep in his basinet but wont go back to sleep after his 4am feed unless he's in bed with us! I'm too tired to care and figure at least he's sleeping! It's not easy getting into a sleep routine, but whatever works works, so just go with it I'm sure she'll come around soon! Love the name Mia by the way!!!

On the bleeding front, I stopped for about 5 days a week ago, then started back up I'm also on the mini pill but have an appointment next week so I'll be asking about it then! I'm pretty sure that I didn't bleed for this long after having my last 2 but it was so long ago I don't remember!

On the clothing Hayden's got too long for his 0000 jumpsuits/singletsuits ect and is now in 000, but 000 shorts are like pants on him so figure he's long in the body and not the legs! It's sad to be putting away the baby clothes, I keep the first few outfits, I've still got Britney's and Joshuah's as well, it's amazing to look back at how small they use to be!
Hayden's due for his needles tomorrow but is booked in next week to have them!

Hayden's 2 months tomorrow no longer a newborn bub but a little man!!!! Still can't believe how fast it's gone, but I'm loving being a mum this time and I'm enjoying every minute!!!! I updated Hayden's ticker the photo was taken this morning while he was playing on the floor, couldn't get over the difference in the photo's from 3 weeks ago looks like a different child!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, I've got 6 kiddlings here tonight so it's a fullhouse!! Anyway better try and get some sleep!!!

Morning ladies!

Well we had needles yesterday :cry: not fun! Poor little man was all out of sorts last night. He also has eye drops and antibiotics (which he hates) for his eyes.
He had a good sleep last night, but this morning had a MASSIVE power chuck (first spew!). Its horrible when you can't fix it for them!

We aren't doing anything today! I'm sick of being out (with Chrissy and New Years) so glad to be home today!

Leigh-DH had a huge hangover so I made him go to the supermarket, cook tea and do the dishes and bath the bubba haha nasty girl I am!! ;)

I wish we were staying home today..... got a family bbq with the inlaws!
It's horrible running around and I need to catch up on housework! OMG the floor looks like it belongs in the zoo!
Anyway enough whinging from me!

I have a sick girl here again, poor love was hysterical last night and I finally got her to sleep by lying down with her and she woke up throwing up in our bed at 6 this morning. She is still in bed now poor thing, unheard of here, shes on the go from 7 to 7 every day.

DH is going to Canada to see his brother, SIL and nephew on Wednesday...boo hoo we will miss him SO much, loads to do today too - sorry for the very slack personals ladies. Take care and have a great day with your gorgeous bubs!

Hi all

Guess what???? we have a realestate agent comming out tomorrow to do a apraisal on our house!!!! ooooo getting a bit scary now!

hey..

well was a busy day yesterday... But Mia was great. She napped through out the day (max 20 mins) and by 9pm she was buggered. We got home about 11:30 lastnight (2.5 hour trip) and she slept in the car. Once we got home i got her all ready for bed and gave her her bottle, she downed about 50mls and was looking at me like as if to say "cmon mum, please let me go to sleep" so i did.. put her down and she was out like a light. Slept till 8am then went back down about 9 (mummy needesd some more sleep). I woke up at 10 and went out and DP said she woke up about 11:15. So he fed her and i kept her awake longer than usual and she went down about 1:30pm and napped in and out (about 20 mins total again) and got up at 2:30 ad daddy is feeding her again. so i think thats the way she like to do it now. Just napping.. i dont mind coz she sleeps right through.
