Hollye - a fenulum is the piece of skin connecting the gum to the lip. If it's short it makes breastfeeding very difficult cause in my case Olive can't flange out her top lip when feeding.
pead says Mia has severe reflux. He has put her on Losec and wants to see her again in 3 weeks. He said to keep her on s26 but not to bother with the reflux one as it wont do anything. So now shes is being medicated.. hopefully it helps. tho he said it wont do much for her spewing. fingerscrossed she atleast drinks abit more. Im keeping her on s26 but moving to the s26 GOLD so even if she does spew most of it up she can keep abit down and its got more goodness in it.
Glad you got some answers Hollye - hopefully the medication works and she grows out of it quickly!
OM - Sounds like you are doing an amazing job with expressing and feeding Olive! I am so lazy, I said I would give J man a bottle of ebm every 2 days to get him used to it so that he doesn't end up a booby monster like Izzy and refuse a bottle til she was 9 mts old but I just can't be bothered... I really admire you!
Kim - Great to hear that the depression has gone hun, that is wonderful!
Im off to eat something, I have THE worst cold, have used a whole roll of loo paper on my nose today - nice hey. It was too hot to go out to the shops - in between I have ben drying out some huggies wipes and using those when my nose gets too sore.
Tan - Awww thanks alot, the support of BB helps heaps.
Hollye - glad to hear that you got some answers, hopefully the meds make a difference.
Olive has put herself off to sleep once yesterday and once today so hopefully we are getting somewhere with that.
We had clinic today and even though the doctor I saw said Olive will probably lose weight cause she wasn't feeding she put on 500g this fortnight and is in the 97th percentile for weight and height and the 95th for HC. She weighs 6.95kgs now. I can't believe how many cute noises she makes both happy and cranky, her personality is certainly coming out. We have the ultrasound at 10:45 tomorrow so hope all is well for my darling.
Hey Hollye - glad u finally got an answer! and my gosh now im worried - u say Mia is 5.7kgs with her throwing up and her reflux well Bianca is 5.7kgs and she dosent have that problem! am i not feeding her enough?
The nurse at the chemist said that she is going to be a girly girl cause she is petit - but now im worried!!!
Tan - Awwwwww poor Tan - a cold is no fun is it - exspecially with 2 little rug rats! how can u get a cold in this heat tho?! hahaha
Olivesmummy - hope all goes well today - let us know how it goes as soon as possible!
I have a very grumpy man here, he just won't feed. So odd, I try to attach him and he just screams, so I tried expressing a bottle and of course he won't take that either. Poor love - I wonder if he has a sore throat like I did yesterday and that is making him upset?
morning ladies!
I know I dont post in here often, I guess I dont have that much to say! Lol
All is going well, Im getting the hang of having a toddler and a baby... Eva is doing great - getting big and is moving around on the floor on her back already!
hollye - my friends little one was put on losec when she was about 3mths old and that helped her reflux heaps - but she also took her to a paediatric chiropractor and was able to take her off the losec completely so it might be worth taking her to one!
Hey has anyone heard from cheryl (csab)???
Hope everyone has a lovely day xo
Morning Sneaky - glad to hear that all is going well!!! nope havent heard from CSAB for ages i was asking that a little while ago - hope all is well - maybe we should put a missing persons post out to see if anyone knows how she is?
Tan - hmmmm maybe James does have a sore throat aswell - pity u cant put honey in his milk to soothe it if he does! hehehe
HJ - dont be worried. They were only worried coz Mia was putting on under 100 grams a week. Mia is also petite, they have told me that from the day she was born. Im not fussed what she actually weighs but i would like her to put on 150-200 grams a week. I hope that makes sense.
yeh, i was gonna ask the same thing.. wheres cheryl? Might start a thread later and ask everyone..
hey cathie!!! glad to see the twins are doing well. I take my hat off to u... i couldnt do 2 babies at once! well done! ur a great mummy!
Mia had her MCHN 3 month check today. SHe has only put on 20 grams in a week so she wants to see her again tomorrow...... so shes now 5.72 kgs um.. 58.7cm long and HC is 40 cms.
Oh! I thought i'd posted last night! Must have dreamt it. No, new computer is playing up a little. Grrrr for computers!
Anyway, last night Liam slept in his cot for the 1st time. No troubles at all. I think he's happy to sleep anywhere really, and we've never co-slept - I'd be scared of smothering him!
Feeding is moving along ok. Had 2 feeds without bottle yesterday and 1 so far today - in fact only gave him a bottle so he'd be happy without a feed thru MG this morning. They covered baby massage today. I don't think Liam's too fussed by it. He just wanted to laugh and play - cheeky little monkey!
And ive got an appointment for the Dr on Friday to see about my c/s wound. Not sure if he'll be very helpfull. Am lacking a lot of confidence in my dr.
Hollye - good to hear you've got an answer. Hope the meds help.
That's all for the personals as I'm just dashing thru here for now, while my computer catches up to what im trying to do.
Hi everyone,
looks like everything is fine with Olive, the Doctor still needs to look at her scan but the sonographer thought it was ok, thank goodnass for that!!! She was so well behaved as well.
I've got ABA meeting tomorrow so it will be good to catch up with the ladies there. We are discussing expressing and storing BM which I know lots about. The ABA have been such a huge support to me and it's good because we don't have a mothers group in our town cause of funding.
Hi all, sorry I haven't been back since yesterday, had a few troubles getting on and then trying posting.
I took Julian to the CHN on Monday he now weighs 6.1kg with clothes on and is 61cm long, he also has torticollis, which is he has favoured one side with his head which for him is his right and all the muscles in his neck make it hard for him to turn to the left too much. So a referal has been sent to the physio and the should give me some exercise to help him.
Boys calling for a feed again will BBL, hopefully.
talking to u on msn, so u already know Mia has the same
um Mia has been having 125 mls in her bottles today! and she seems so much more settled already. Heres hoping its coz of the Losec and not just a fluke!
