woohoo Hollye - you and Mia are doing great! good on ya!
HJ - Hang in there hun... I know it must be so hard and everything is so much harder when are sleep deprived... I saw your other thread and I hope some of the advice you were given helps hun.
Hollye - Yay hun!! YOu are doing a brilliant job babe and trust your body and that amazing booby juice lovely!! :)
Rileynmia - Great to hear from you! I hope your MCHN can help out hun.
Blizz - Im not too sure about the pics, I do my own Christmas cards and last year Izzy was sitting and it was easy as to get her dressed up and posing - this year I have to work out how to get her to sit still for more than 2 seconds plus get her to hold James!! Hehe! Might prop them up on a bean bag I think! :)
 to everyone else I am tired and need to go to bed! DH is doing a kitchen reno so I stayed at mums all day today and came home to new benchtops! :leap: We are just replacing them, the tiles and the doors but keeping the rest of the kitchen as is and it looks great so far even with gaping holes in the wall! I won't want to sell it once it's all done!
Hope you all get a great nights sleep - be good babies!! Happy 1 month to my little man! Time flies so fast, I got teary today thinking about how fast he is growing up already and he now weighs 5.1kgs!! Boof I tell you. Hollye - Mia is still smaller than Izzy at birth! Not too sure how I've had such huge babies - Im only 5foot1!!
Chat soon lovelies!
Hi everyone,
Sorry i haven't been around much, it's been hetic here and Hayden's having a hard time with feeding!!! I'm happy to say that he has finally started to gain weight and has put on 50 grams since last tuesday!!! I've got heaps of milk in and he latches well but keeps falling asleep once latched on that with his 6 hour sleeping hasn't been helping! We've gone to 2 hourly feeds in the day and 4 hourly at night, I feel awful waking him up but he needs to be back at his birth weight soon!!!! Only 250 more grams to go!!!!
What have you all been upto, I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since Hayden was born!!! Hope your all doing well!!!!
Better run it's feed time again, wow it go's so fast!!!!
Takecare all,
Luv Snoopea
hey girls!
Tan - i dont know how i managed to have a small bub seeming me and Dp are both 6 ft! oh its strange how the human body works! Happy 1 month bday James! :D
Snoop - 50grams is great! u go girl! Mia's slowly getting over the sleeping thing, but i feel for u. it is very frustrating when they keep falling asleep coz with the waking them, and keeping them alert, a feed can take a very very long time. The only thing that has worked for me is letting her sleep. Dont u worry, she can go 6 hours without a feed when shes having a "moment" lol. Now she has reaslised what it feels like to be hungry and she is waking every 3-5 hours. You will get there hun and so will gorgeous Hayden.. stick at it!
wooohhoooo BFing for 4 weeks today!!! yay!
Thanks Hollye!!
Congratulations on 4 weeks, wow it's gone so fast!!!
Mia is ssoooooo very cute, love her pics!!!!
I've still got to transfer mine of Hayden of the camera, DH was mucking around with a few shots and I've stolen one for my ticker, just haven't had the time to do it yet! I've also got to organise our birth announcements, haven't done that either!!!! AAARRRGGGHHH how time flies, it'll be christmas before we know it that's for sure!!!
Hope your all having a good day so far, Haydens gone down for a sleep so I've got 5 minutes!!!!
Takecare all,
Luv Snoopea
Birth announcements and thank you cards! Thanks for the reminder lovely! I have half done them on illustrator and need to finish them. I just went through all the pics of James and back to APril for Izzy of photos I need to print and there are over 100 of them! Harvey Norman has 12c prints at the moment so I will get them done in the next few day! :)
Hollye, can you add me to the list: Liam Samuel 17/10/08 17:22 8lb 2oz/3670gms 53cm.
Liam's falling asleep while feeding after only 5 minutes sometimes. No luck waking him to keep feeding either. Put him in his cot and 5 mins later he wakes crying and crazily sucking his fists again. So we're now feeding him a bottle at every feed after I've done the best I can with BFing. For the 1st time I'm leaning towards bottle feeding...
I'm frustrated because I called the Community Health Centre yesterday and still haven't heard from the LC. The "Beyond Birth" 'class' thing i was meant to do the other week was postponed again as the leader was sick so I won't go until he's 5 1/2 weeks by which stage I've learned most of what they cover. My friend in VIC said she had fortnightly appointments with the Nursing Mums or whoever they are, but there's nothing like that here in QLD - or if there is I certainly haven't been told about it, and I asked after he was born. Nothing's clear about who I should go to, especially if I have no issues and just need someone to say 'you're doing the right thing'. :wall:
Anyway, hugs to everyone. I'm gonna go catch some shuteye while he's sleeping. :asleep:
Hello Everyone!
Latest with us - we are pretty sure Bianca may have silent Reflux - had a pretty shocking start of the night with her last night, and in the end we gave up and let her sleep in her bouncer - she slept from around 2330 - 0530 - stirred at 0300 but i bounced her back too sleep - so we think she needs to be up-right a a bit when sleeping - so we have put her cot up on bricks (looks terrible) so she is on a angle and so far she has slept a bit in it today - fingers are crossed that it works tonight! she seems to scream and scream when we lay her flat on her back!
Talk of the devil she is now crying in her cot - im not too sure if she likes her cot either!
Anyways better go see to her!
Im really sorry i dont get much time too do personals!
big hugs hj - if the bricks arnt working try putting some books or pillows under the top end of the mattress.
1stbub27 - all added :) im moving up Torquay area near u somewhere at the start of next year :) just have to find DP a job first!!!
all good here.. Mia's asleep.. has been for 3 hours.. hrmmmm kinda bored lol!
HJ - James was struggling with trapped wind and reflux a bit too so we got him a hammock after he fell asleep in the bouncer one night for 7 hours and he is now sleeping SO well in it. You can hire them for a week to trial them from Hire for Baby - they are all around Australia, just google! :) We ended up buying the one we hired because we loved it so much.
1stbub - Have you tried calling the ABA?? They should be able to help with any questions you have and they are Australia wide as well hun. I know how hard it is.
Just dropping in to say hi. DH went back to work yesterday, so all on my own now (with Logan of course).
Hollye - Is that a Geelong Cats singlet that Mia is wearing in the photo??
We have our 2 week appt at the MCHN tomorrow to be weighed. I wonder how much Logan has put on? He seems to be putting on weight quickly. He was 4.34kg last Tuesday at just over a week old - goodness only knows how much he will weigh at nearly 3 weeks old LOL!!
Gotta go as I am trying to make some shortbread whilst Logan is sleeping. xx
Tan - i wanna try the hammock i have heard sooo much about it - but than im worried about the troubles we will have trying too get her back in the cot.
maybe im expecting too much too soon and i should try and go with the flow a bit more!
sleepless nights and all!!!
Hollye - we did put pillows under the mattress too start off with - but didnt elevate her enough! once we did the bricks she had a bit of a sleep in it!
Kylie - My DH goes back to work on sunday - so soon i will be in the same boat as u - im not looking forward to being alone when he does night shifts tho!
Hi everyone.. i am getting Jorda's shots here in Canada... same thing.. just would rather get them done sooner then later... so its ok.. I never freaked out when Ben got them.. so i am ok..
Snowing here like crazy.. but so fun.. Ben has a snowsuit and boots etc..
And Jorda is so cute in her little snow outfit and hat .. so fun..
I have been shopping like crazy.. but need to stop as my friends here are having a baby shower for me next sunday.. so nice of them.. and here in Canada.. there is kinda a silent rule.. that people spend anywhere from 50-100$.. which i think is a lot.. so we will get tones of stuff... Which i need as the dryer here at the hotel(since my parents house burnt this is where we are living) ate all Jorda's clothes.. holes in all of them and oil spills on them all. I WAS DEVASTATED as it was all newborn small stuff that is now wrecked.... :(
Anyways i hope everyone is well.. hang in there...
I did the control crying with Jorda for 3 nights and she is sleeping through from 10pm till 6-7am.. I Am loving it!!!!!!
didi - what bliss at night to have Jorda sleep through!! How annoying that you have to get all new clothes, I don't like driers but i imagine where you are they are a neccessity. How exciting having a baby shower - how are you going to get all the pressies back home to Australia again??
HJ - night shift, I don't envy you that position. I grew up with my dad on nightshift his whole life. Hopefully Bianca will be sleeping better at night for you by then.
OMG - I can't believe it, but Logan rolled over from his tummy onto his back today. I put him on the floor for some tummy time, and within a few minutes he had rolled. He has pretty strong arms and legs, but he is only 17 days old. Very exciting - i hope that it wasn't a one off as i can't wait for DH to see it too.
I thought it was just me Angus did the same thing three times, I thought it was a fluke so I kept trying till he got sick of it,(Hee, hee...mean mummy am I)
hi to all back soon Angus is screaming out for me
I took Bianca too doc today - looks like she may have silent Reflux - so she is on Infant Gaviscon for the next wk too see how she goes - if she dosnet improve we have too take her back and they will try something stronger!
Has anyone else used Infanct Gaviscon on such a young baby? and does it work?
hey girls!
Mia is now on 95% formula, just until i finsh weaning her off my breast as my breasts are having abit of a culture shock and i need to tell them not to produce anymore milk and to do that i need to slow things down gradually. Anyhoo my story is in the breastfeeding bit on here. I have an appointment to go on the pill on monday.. ahhh good ol contraception.. speaking of sex.. what is that? somethin u eat?
Moving on... today has been the BEST day ever since she came home. She is much happier and its only the first full formula day! Its such a sigh of relief. i love being a mummy!
hj - that really sucks about the reflux. Hopefully that stuff works.. i have heard of it but dont know anyone that has used it. I have heard reflux can be very painful for a baby so fingers crossed it gives her some relief. so glad u went to the doctors! big hugs!!
yeh Mia's doing the "oh look mummy, i can roll this way and that way..." hrmm makes changing a nappy very interesting!!!! tho she rolls to her right more. I have to encourage her to roll to her right too. so she can go from back to tummy but not tummy to back. tho she gets her knees up already.. i think i might have an early crawler on my hands.
anyhoo.. gonna go change my milk drenched top.. lol..
ps.. no it wasnt a geelong top... its black and white (collingwood suck) and it has a glitter flower on it.
