teru - At mother's group we were told to look for hunger signs before giving babies food - when they watch you eat and make chewing motions. I like the suggestion of giving EBM but it's still a battle most times to get her to take a bottle so I'd probably end up more hot and bothered from that!

    katones -

belfie - Ohh new PC - how exciting.

Maya is feeding so much more frequently at the moment! I feel like I don't have enough supply to meet her demand at the moment. But I remember people telling me that the 3 month growth spurt is tough so I'm sticking with the BFing and hope my supply increases soon!!

    I'm mighty tired though.

Oh and I've been concerned cos her lower ribs seem to be poking out! I think maybe it's just that she's growing fastest there.. but am worried maybe she's not getting enough food. So I rang the MCHN today and I have an appointment on Thursday to get her weighed. I hope she's OK!!

Bethany is all sticky out too, but when she saw the MCHN is was just the 3 month growth thingy, they are just one day apart so they must be growing together!! I keep telling Bethany that formula doesn't grow on trees!!! LOL

Thanks Csab.. they were grose thick paste green poos .. the joys of formula huh lol

Hollye - what time is the weigh? good luck i hope it is good news for you.

Well exciting news for me - i am having a girls night out! i have met a bunch of mums with oct babies and we are all leaving the kids at home with dh's and going out for dinner and drinks... how exciting. This is my first night out in almost 2 years like this. I am not sure if i will drink.. scared - how weird is that - havent had a drink in 2.5 years! will have to see how we go i think lol.

Hoping DH will be ok with the 2 overnight and bottle feeding. Might give it a go tonight to see how ethan takes the bottle in the middle of the night.

Right at this moment both kids are fast asleep which is wonderful!! i am going to have some dimsim - mmmm and then lay down for an hour before the excitement starts hehe.

It isnt too hot atm which is nice and the breeze has picked up. I am thinking of all you melbourne and adelaide girls *hugs*

I'm so glad I went to the MCHN and trusted my instincts!! Maya has barely put on any weight over the last two weeks (120 grams)!! She's just never interested in eating cos there's too much stuff going on! So she suggested to start feeding in a dark boring room and see if that helps. Plus she suggested that I try and express after every feed. But I normally can't get anything after a feed. And even with the portable air con it's now 30 degrees in here! So I really don't feel like pumping my breasts after having Maya sweat next to me during a feed. Maybe once the change hits on the weekend I can start trying to add in the expressing!

belfie - Wow.. good to hear X doesn't have a problem in the weight department. And I hope his hip is OK.

PP - A girls night out sounds great. When is it?

Tanya - stick with it hun, you are doing a great job. in these early months sometimes DD was lucky to gain 150gm a fortnight but she soon packed it on when solids started.

HOllye - great news! i think E is over 6 kg by the feel of him - i will offically weigh him at his 4 month needles in a week.

The girls night out is tomorrow night. thai and drinks.. i just wont know what to do with myself - to be able to hold a full conversation without little mouths wanting feeds or little hands dragging me away!

Totally off topic - does any have any wii games they want to swap for others?

Way to go Hollye and Mia!!!

Hope the south girls are going ok, never thought I would think we had it good up here in the tropics...
Went to GP utirne infection not better, worse. Have 7 days of super dooper killer everything just by looking at it antibiotics then if no improvement off for scans etc, as super dooper as the antibugs are I will add they make me feel pretty miserable

Bethany tried out Gymbaroo yesterday, I love the fact that she slept for 4hrs after!! It was good for us and I think I will keep going although I can see that some would boo boo it. Bethany loved looking at the other babies and mums and the music and games. She loved the big equipment with the swing coming in at number 1 choice the roller boards number two and rolling on her tummy on the barrell 3, the funny thing was she did and enjoyed more tummy time there in 45mins then I can get her to do at home!!! Kindermusik kicks off next Wednesday.

Well I should go see what little one is complaining about!!

Hi all been a very busy week here, with the boys back at school and heaps of rain.

Julian has finally been booked in for his physio on the 23rd of Feb at 2pm, so hopefully that will help with his neck, he hasn't been to bad lately so hopefully it won't take much to fix.

PP enjoy your night tomorrow night, I'll be going out to the BB meet next Saturday night without kids, I'm so excited about it as well.

Sami enjoy your time away, I too thought the worse when I saw that title, hmm naughty girl, lol.

Tanya glad to hear Maya didn't cry to much in the car, it would've made for a better car trip. Hopefully the feeding in a dark room will help, goodluck.

Belfie X is growing so big, I'm nearly getting the 00's out for Julian, it's sad seeing them grow so quickly.

    Cheryl welcome back.

Hollye yay for Mia hitting the 6kg mark.

Got to go boy is hollering.

    hugs xoxo

amy - OK maybe the ribs sticking out is just a growth thing then. That's what I think it is.. but can't help worrying a little bit. The good thing is that the MCHN said I could cancel any time before hand if I decide it's OK! But it's nice knowing I have an appointment to go get her checked out in case it's still worrying me.

teru - I know.. I don't really want to go out in the heat on Thursday. I'll see if I feel like she needs to be checked or not?!

My mums and bubs yoga was cancelled today due to heat. So I have to wait till next week to see what it's like! I have an osteo appointment this evening though. It'll be nice to be in air con for a bit.

OK.. think I might get an ice cream!!

I've thought about trying to get inside the fridge. haha..

Hmm.. OK maybe ribs are one of the first things to grow?!

I got Maya into bed by 9pm!! Normally I can't get her into bed before 10pm-ish! Had to resettle once.. now hoping she'll stay down.

Tanya - hope she stays down, I'm sending good vibes!

Well X has decided today is the day to roll. And roll and roll and roll and ROLL! But he only rolls from his back on his right to his front. Then howls in frustration cos he's on his front. He got his leg stuck through his cot bars earlier (cos I'd put him in without a sleeping bag cos it's so hot here... not doin' that again!). And now I've just tried to settle him with no success cos he keeps rolling lol!

So he's sitting on my lap thumping the desk as I write this! Any good suggestions for settling a roller?

oh my... if i could fit, i would be sitting in the frezzer right now..

And good luck with the weights for the ribby ones. I reckon some kids are just built lighter and some heavier. I think X's ribs are AWOL - he's got the opposite problem, I'm wondering if the MHCN tomorrow is gonna tell me he's too fat! Plus he's on a HUGE hunger bust atm... we've fed SEVEN times today.. compared to our usual FOUR . Eeeek! 'm puttin' him on rations!!!!

EDIT: fixed my roller with a tight sheet!

    well....
one little toothy peg has popped through the tiniest bit...and you can definatly feel 2 in there
Jack is waking at aroun 5 in the morning again....so i reach over (in the dark fumbling round trying to find a dummy) give dummy back to him and put my hand on his belly..and off he goes back to sleep...he didn't do a houdinin on me last night..his arms were contained first time in ages!!!!!although after his 6am feed he just would NOT settle like he usually does until i set his arms free...
he can now quite happily (laughs after he does it when you look at him) blow lurvly 'spit raspberries'
he is also trying very hard to roll from his back to his tummy BUT isn't quite there yet....

i have also started him on 2/3 teaspoons of farex made with water and added a tiny bit of apple to it....ate the whole lot with gusto... and then he sleeps after this like a trooper..3/4 hrs in the morning!!!!

belfie - I think having a cuddly baby sounds nice. Maya still has some fat on her but she's definitely not the big baby I thought she'd end up being!

Well.. last night Maya went to sleep at 9pm then woke at 11pm. But DH managed to resettle her and then she slept till 4.30am. And after putting her back down she slept till 9.30am. So I slept in too.

And today I've decided to try the trip to my mother's house again. I am very nervous about Maya screaming in the car again but I've done the trip before and she was fine. It was only the last time she screamed the whole way back. So I'll see how I go. If she screams again I may never try the trip again. But I think this time I'll pull over and see if I can resettle her if she cries. And if she starts crying soon after I leave the house I might turn around and come back home.

    Hope everyone is keeping cool!

Yeah it was a hard decision for us Rhoda.
DD was 7 months and we wanted 2 children close together.
So i had to make the choice of either continuing to bf or weaning 100% (as droppin feeds didnt work).
So we weaned and then got preg with E. We are happy we planned our children the way we did after all.
you have a year to fall pregnant though remember to make it in the year

Oh i saw on the TV that it is great to have a dragon baby! woohoo ... did you plan that as well?

Anyhow - DD is at FDC and i am going to lay in bed all day today, My parents have been here the past 4 days and i am exhausted playing host. E is in his cradle a -rockin lol so i am just going to veg

    Hope everyone is ok *mwah*
