Babies Born October 1st-15th 2008 #5

Yeah it was a hard decision for us Rhoda.
DD was 7 months and we wanted 2 children close together.
So i had to make the choice of either continuing to bf or weaning 100% (as droppin feeds didnt work).
So we weaned and then got preg with E. We are happy we planned our children the way we did after all. :)
you have a year to fall pregnant though remember to make it in the year :)

Oh i saw on the TV that it is great to have a dragon baby! woohoo ... did you plan that as well?

Anyhow - DD is at FDC and i am going to lay in bed all day today, My parents have been here the past 4 days and i am exhausted playing host. E is in his cradle a -rockin lol so i am just going to veg :)

Sorry havent been around for a while, with the school holidays and DH being home on holidays I didnt get much time to do much for myself IYKWIM. Anyway 2 darling kids off to school today just 2 to go. hehehe. :dance::dance::dance:
Well Olivia is doing really well, still little but she is getting there. Just over two weeks ago she weighed 3.390kgs hc 37cm and length was 53cms. She is so very petite. I still get asked how many days old is she, or how many weeks is she? My BF little man that was born just under 6weeks after Olivia was born is already bigger than her, yet I must admit her has always been bigger than her. She is also sleeping between 10 to 10 1/2hrs a night. She just loves her sleep. Her next appt for the pead wont be until early march. I still have her u/s to do which is on the 12th of Feb. Fingers crossed all will be fine with that.

pp- dragon isnt really born in yr of dragon, he was born in yr of rat. but we'll prob have 1in yr of dragon too (2012). i know we hv a whole yr to try, but dp wants the 2 kids to b only 1 yr apart in school so need to find out the deadline for the youngest enrolment in vic. which feed did u drop? i heard it the 1-4am ones...we'll try that 1st, if not, then we'll hav to wean :(

Rhoda - Ashley was feeding 5 times a day rom 6 am - 9pm (nothing overnight). From 4 months old.
and i still didnt get my AF back - i weaned completely at 7 months.

Ethan has lots of drool but it isnt teething. just lots of drool.

He has had heaps of mucousy vomit too ewwww

Ohhh how cute, love the image of a St Bernard drooling. hehehe Sometimes when Olivia is in her bassinette, you can hear her sptting away with all hers. hehehe

PP Jack has been 'spewy' lately...BUT that has been since the goats formula..never BIG spews just small possets...
Teru AF came back for me afew weeks after FULLY stopping BF... am up to my second AF since stopping BF...am seriously thinking about having an IMPLANON put back in just soo no AF...

PP - My DS2 had 4 teeth at 3mths of age, honestly back then I couldnt believe he got them so early.

Katones - I stopped BFing when Olivia was just under 3mths and got my AF around 9days later. As I expected was sooooo heavy. Dreading the next AF....

AF here is horrid (right now) Csab i stopped BF when Jack was 6 weeks old..he was too hungry for my supply (low because of meds) and now he is a PIGGY!!!!
AF for me has never been 'good' BUT i seriously loved being pregnant just for the simple fact NO AF....I am off to my GP tomorrow for other things am also going to ask about getting implanon again...

I stopped Olivia, as I didnt feel as tho my BM was bulking her up. I felt as tho it wasnt enough for her. Once I started formula she put on a bit more weight, so decided to stick with that instead. She still isnt gaining a weight all that quickly but its better than with the BM. Makes me feel a bit better about things. Do you think you will have anymore bubba's? Quietly speaking I really wouldnt mind another one, not yet however, yet DH has definately no intention on anymore. Which is also fine, especially after the terribly stressful pgcy with Olivia.

we had decided on starting IVF this december BUT now i am having second thoughts and soo is DH...comes down to my emotional state RIGHT now... and the way i am dealing/handling things at the moment definatly goes AGAINST having another bub :(
I am thankful for having Jack and getting pregnant first go with IVF, i honestly don't know how i would go if it didn't happen first time round again if we did try again..if you know what i mean??

Its nice to know that you are intending on having another one. yet getting yourself emontionally better is soooo important. Definately KWYM. hugs

Kat - have you had the implanon before?
I had it in a little while ago and the mood swings were terrible.
ANd i bleed for almost 2 months straight... just food for thought.

We are only have 2 children. I am atm not on contraception but we are probably going to look at some permanent contraception soon :)

PP yep had implanon, NO bleeding for the 3 yrs straight it was in...NO weight gain & NO mood swings
NOT 100% positive about getting it just yet BUT is certainly in the books...
although it wouldn't be for contraceptive purposes..as my tubes are surgically blocked so can't fall pregnant anyways...

Mostly BF now, ethan has gone back to 2-3 feeds overnight again yawn.
I gave him formula tonight he took 210ml!!

so will see what the night brings.

Finally he pooed though (4 days!!).

Sami - when they cleaned up old posts etc on BB your posts would have dropped (everyones did)

Mia rolled from tummy to back today!!!!!!!! yay!!! so now she can do both and boy does she think shes clever when she does!!

georgi - Thanks for the link of sleep schools. Though I don't know if I need sleep school.. more help with routine and what to do with her during the day.. I guess some settling tips too. I might ring them and see what they offer though. Ohh.. my mum gave a great book called "Games to play with babies". So I've started looking through that and it's giving me some ideas which is great.

Well I successfully made it to my mothers with no crying. Then Maya cried for a little bit when I first left and I held my breath. But then she went quiet so she must have fallen asleep. And she cried again when I was two minutes from home. So that was definitely an improvement on a solid hour of screaming. Phew! I think I discovered the trick is to leave after a feed and play and when it's her sleep time! So I'll stick with that for a bit if I have to go on long trips and see if that helps.

It's going to be 43 again tomorrow!! I'm thinking of cancelling my MCHN appointment and going to a shopping centre to escape the heat.

PP - Glad ethan finally pooed, especially after 4days. Olivia had actually been constipated when I put her onto formula for a while there. Thankfully she is so much better now, that she has gotten used to the change.

My DH bought a portable air con for the lounge. :hooray: Though apparently it's 29 degrees in here. Still that's cooler than anywhere else in the house!

I've decided I will go to the MCHN appointment. I'll brave the heat and walk there. It's only a 5 min walk. Still in 43 degree heat I imagine it won't be fun. But I do wanna make sure Maya is OK!

we've got evap cooling thank goodness so we're managing the heat (just!) - it's about 28 here. Had our MHCN visit yesterday - apparently our next visit is at 8 months :o 'cos they're too busy to see us more often. I heard all these people say that your MHCN will be such a big part of your life in your child's first year. Yeah right!!! She would be if I saw her maybe... anyways, he was all good, but a bit clicky on one hip, so she said to call his paediatrician and just get it checked out - but should be nothing. So fingers crossed on that one.

Otherwise, he's growing in all directions - 7.6kg and 65cm long!! OMG I'm gonna have him in 0's very soon!

Holly & Tanya - good luck with your weigh-ins. Hollye - awesome on the rolling! I reckon X is YONKS away from rolling tummy to back.

csab - great to see you back again, and Olivia is looking just adorable!

oh and I was on implanon too - had it twice, but took the second one out early when the "clucky's" hit me overnight. I'd definitely do it again after no. 2.

Well exciting news for me :) - i am having a girls night out! i have met a bunch of mums with oct babies and we are all leaving the kids at home with dh's and going out for dinner and drinks... how exciting. This is my first night out in almost 2 years like this. I am not sure if i will drink.. scared - how weird is that - havent had a drink in 2.5 years! will have to see how we go i think lol.

Hoping DH will be ok with the 2 overnight and bottle feeding. Might give it a go tonight to see how ethan takes the bottle in the middle of the night.

Right at this moment both kids are fast asleep which is wonderful!! i am going to have some dimsim - mmmm and then lay down for an hour before the excitement starts hehe.

It isnt too hot atm which is nice and the breeze has picked up. I am thinking of all you melbourne and adelaide girls *hugs*

I'm so glad I went to the MCHN and trusted my instincts!! Maya has barely put on any weight over the last two weeks (120 grams)!! :( She's just never interested in eating cos there's too much stuff going on! So she suggested to start feeding in a dark boring room and see if that helps. Plus she suggested that I try and express after every feed. But I normally can't get anything after a feed. And even with the portable air con it's now 30 degrees in here! So I really don't feel like pumping my breasts after having Maya sweat next to me during a feed. Maybe once the change hits on the weekend I can start trying to add in the expressing!

belfie - Wow.. good to hear X doesn't have a problem in the weight department. :) And I hope his hip is OK.

PP - A girls night out sounds great. :) When is it?

Mia put on 260 grams this week!!!!!!! yay!! :cheer: so shes now 6.1 kilos! finally over 6kgs!

Tanya - stick with it hun, you are doing a great job. in these early months sometimes DD was lucky to gain 150gm a fortnight but she soon packed it on when solids started.

HOllye - great news! i think E is over 6 kg by the feel of him - i will offically weigh him at his 4 month needles in a week.

The girls night out is tomorrow night. thai and drinks.. i just wont know what to do with myself - to be able to hold a full conversation without little mouths wanting feeds or little hands dragging me away!

Totally off topic - does any have any wii games they want to swap for others?

Went to GP utirne infection not better, worse. Have 7 days of super dooper killer everything just by looking at it antibiotics then if no improvement off for scans etc, as super dooper as the antibugs are I will add they make me feel pretty miserable :(

Bethany tried out Gymbaroo yesterday, I love the fact that she slept for 4hrs after!! It was good for us and I think I will keep going although I can see that some would boo boo it. Bethany loved looking at the other babies and mums and the music and games. She loved the big equipment with the swing coming in at number 1 choice the roller boards number two and rolling on her tummy on the barrell 3, the funny thing was she did and enjoyed more tummy time there in 45mins then I can get her to do at home!!! Kindermusik kicks off next Wednesday.

Well I should go see what little one is complaining about!!

Hi all been a very busy week here, with the boys back at school and heaps of rain.

Julian has finally been booked in for his physio on the 23rd of Feb at 2pm, so hopefully that will help with his neck, he hasn't been to bad lately so hopefully it won't take much to fix.

PP enjoy your night tomorrow night, I'll be going out to the BB meet next Saturday night without kids, I'm so excited about it as well.

Sami enjoy your time away, I too thought the worse when I saw that title, hmm naughty girl, lol.

Tanya glad to hear Maya didn't cry to much in the car, it would've made for a better car trip. Hopefully the feeding in a dark room will help, goodluck.
