Found a pink bumbo and tray on ebay...local pick up only though. Obviously I am not near St Helens Sydney...Anyone help me?? I will pay costs obviously!! Auction doesn't end for a few days yet
scrap that last post I have a plan B
Sorry Belfie this time you are not plan B!!
I can not reveal my plan.... Its a secret....
Sorry Belfie this time you are not plan B!!
I can not reveal my plan.... Its a secret....
****! Bumbo??????????????????? what is THAT!!!!!!!!!!????????????
I don't get it - is it just my foggy brain - why are you usually plan B?
Bumbo's = a little moulded seat that looks really cute but not really practical or good for helping babies to sit or their posture - just stirring you all, my opinion only :) And if you google Bumbo seats you will see threads in other forums talking about how as soon as bubs can twist, potential and real falling dangers etc - gosh I'm a downer LOL Personally I think it is one of those cute nursery pieces that marketers make out are impossible to live without ;)
Well I just got back from CALMS - Canberra after hours local medical service - had a sore boob since lunchtime and was painful to feed so thought I better check it out and yep, all red and splotchy underneath so went and got some anti's to make sure it didn't develop overnight - my first appt was 10pm (so I had a coffee at 7pm to make sure I would stay awake) but they rang back with a cancellation cos I told them it was mastitis and got in at 8.45pm (which means 9.30 ) - so now I am still hyped on caffeine ;) Feel ok, but dizzy and sore, but at least got onto it early ....
lol I'm plan B-BBBBBBBBB for Belfie (and my REAL name ).
SamiH - bummer on the mastitis, hope it get's better soon. Sounds like you got onto it really quickly which is great!
Amy_o - I'm most intrigued!!!
hmm im so undecided abt the bumbo...i really want to get it but what if i dont like it?
would someone be interested to buy it off me, muahahaha
ive also been looking at the sling chair too, theres so much to look at and i jst dont seem to be able to open my books LOL
Hey! I have a BUMBO. I love it but BJ hates it. He'll only sit it in for 5 mins MAX. And that's even when he has his toys in front of him. But my niece used it alot. She was very happy in it. I think they're practical up until bub can sit up on their own. It's easy to transport around the house or back yard, or anywhere really. Like a portable chair. You can sit bub on the dining table if you wanted (with supervision of course). I wish BJ liked it more. He might get use to it, I don't actually put him in it that often. I never paid for mine though. I inherited it from my sister.
TANYA I am having the EXACT same issues with BJ. He just won't feed properly. He's happy & sleeping & having wet nappies but he only had 4 feeds yesterday & one of them was for 3 or 4 mins only. I'm worried too. Although I'm not worried about his weight as he's over 7kgs, but it's more that I'm worried that it's just not normal, and very frustrating for me. I'm going to keep a diary for a few days & see the MCHN on Wednesday. I hear there's a good one close to my home so I'm gonna go & see her & hope she can give me some tips. I'm considering the bottle, which is really not what I want to do.
SAMI I hope you get hold of the Mastitis. Use an electric toothbrush on the red areas. It works quite well.
Hi to everyone!
csab - I totally forgot how small V was. Maya started off at 4kgs at birth. But it has taken her 3 1/2 months to put on 1 kg. She's now 5kgs. Has V had good weight gains?
Sami - I hope the mastitis is under control.
Georgi - I went and saw my MCHN last week and she told me to try and feed somewhere quiet and dark. I can do the quiet but not the dark. No where dark at my place. She also suggested that I try and express after every feed and then offer that EBM to her in between feeds. But I can't express much after a feed. I think there's a lot more milk in there that Maya can get to but I can't. I have been getting a couple of mls though and offering in between feeds (AKA pouring it down her throat ).
Maya did end up having one good feed yesterday and lots of snacky ones. I was so happy she had one good feed though! And this morning she ate a lot! So I'll see what happens for the rest of the day.
I inherited a bumbo too - off my SIL. I do like it. As Georgi said, you can put it on the dining table with supervision. So sometimes I eat at the table with her sitting in it. It's a very cute sight. :) She can only stay in it for 5 - 10 mins though. I also take it outside and let her sit in it out there for a bit.
I have Maya's 4 month immunisations today (8 days early). I am so not looking forward to when the needles go in. :( Hopefully afterwards she'll be like last time and just be more sleepy and a bit grisly but not ill.
OK.. gotta run....
Good morning!!
You will be pleased to know that we were not swept away in the night and it was all a fizzer. Oh well. I don't have the heart to tell DH that he'll have to go to work!!
My plan B turned out that a cairns lady on BB saw me mention Bumbo and offered me her old one. :) ahhh online networking!!!
Sami~~ Sorry bout the mastitis, but it was good to hear good old CALMS is still up and running!!
Hope all the bubs who are giving their mummy's hard times with feeding get it together soon, it could be the heat though and I think I remember reading they have a 4 month "moment" where everything goes off. My MCHN was telling that last week cause Bethany had gone from Good Baby to Evil Baby!!! Something to do with brain development but it could be load of who-haa as well.
Well I can hear Bethany stiring, we are off to a Tupperware party, Bethany's first!! Is there a place in the baby book for baby's first tupperware party?? It is a big milestone for a girl, I see hundreds in her future!!
Have a good one!
Oh and we should hear about a house today cross all fingers and toes please!!
Tanya - V has only put on a kilo as well, I am having everything crossed that when I get her weighed again in 4weeks time that she would be over the 4kg mark. I am worried that if she hasnt put on much weight to what the pead expects then he will be convinced that there is something wrong with her. I am trying to convince him otherwise. V is happy and content and mostly snacks at her feeds. Everytime I hold her she doesnt feel any different with her weight, yet I know I am with her all the time, to someone else who isnt could tell more.I am really hoping that she has kept up with her 150gm a week at least. The most she has at a feed is 100ml give or take 10ml. She never finishes a bottle. I really think tho that it is the heat playing up on her.
Georgi - Thats interesting re the electric toothbrush on mastitis.... Seems like a few of our bubs are turning off their feeds.... hugs
A huge HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOO to everyone else, hope your all doing well. hugs
TANYA That's why I love BB. That's some really good advice, to try and offer EBM. Although, BJ is known to hate the bottle. But i'll try it today. Luckily I can get heaps of EBM. I'm currently storing some for that lady with the brain tumor. I've been doing 50 to 100mls a day for her. I can do heaps more though I don't want to promote mastitis & I don't want to play with my supply & demand too much. BJ's room is dark & quiet. I try to feed him there as much as possible, but it doesn't help. I also try different positions, but it doesn't help. Sometimes my singing quietly helps. Dunno why. Last night he had a decent feed, I sang to him for the 30mins. But this morning the singing only got him to 3 mins. :wall:
AMY Good to hear you didn't get swept away....
Oops BJ's calling BBL
Amy - I too am glad you didnt get swept away. What a nice lady to do that for you. hugs
Well I forgot to mention, I have to go and see my Physician today. They are going to retest me to see why I am ANA positive. So not sure on how long it will take to get the results back, so will be interesting to see what they come up with. I also want to quiz the Dr as to why V was so tiny. I want to know if they believe it has anything to do with the ANA positive, or did it have something to do with me having to stop the aspirin at 35weeks. All these things going thru my mind atm.
csab ~ i hope you get some answers hun :)
amy ~ glad you didn't get swept away hun!! Jack wants to know how his GF is doing???
everyone else..sorry NO personals right now...am too tired :)
someone slap me!!!!
i decided to try last night NOT wrapping Jack's arms just wrapping from the armpit down...BIG mistake!!!! he fidgeted ALL night (from 1ish am) and i was that zonked i just resettled him like that dumb me didn't get him up and re-wrap him with his arms in..stupid stupid stupid!!! i shall pay for that mistake today...
Ok, i'm back. BJ was sleeping for 1.5hours, woke up crying so I thought he'd be hungry for sure, fed him for 10mins whoohoo! Then, he fell straigh back to sleep again. Hmmm, weird! It's like he had a dream feed.
Anyways, where was I?????
Yes, AMY I hope Bethany enjoys her first tupperware party. Any excuse to get together with the girls I say
CSAB I wonder if you can get answers about V being so small. I'm very interested to hear what they say. Do you think you'll have another bub? Jayne told me about the electric toothbrush. She's had mastitis 6 times. So she told me last time I had it. It actually felt really good.
TANYA Good luck with the shots today. BJ was a little grizzly for the rest of the day but pulled up fine the next day. I'm sure she'll be fine.
RENSTAR is meant to be visiting today. Looking forward to seeing her big belly again. I bet it's grown in the week since I saw her last. She's 41 weeks today. It just seems like yesterday that we we're getting married (we both got married Sept 07) & ttc. WOW
Never made it to tupperware party had MAJOR MELTDOWN, so major that DH decided it needed a family day. I am going to crawl under the doona and feel sorry for myself. I think it is a combination, pain and sick from the infection, new meds, life with a cranky baby. Someone stole my good one and replaced it with evil baby. Bethany and I both just had a 30min cry, well I cried she screamed, she is sleeping it off. I will be soon too. So the unhappy Amy is off to be taken care of by her wonderful DH...
Oh and Bethany sends kisses to her BF, she loved the flowers!!! (4months and getting flowers...) She is banned from the computer however till her behaviour improves!!
amy- hope u feel better. u know we all love u :)
bumbo- im glad that u got 1 off a nice lady here. depending on how things go at the shops, we might be buying a new one. DP said if its $100 for a new one & $60 for 2nd, mind as well get the new one?! so if thats the case, i'll be passing on the $60-$65 2nd if anyone is interested.
baby being stinking. crying his head off so better go to him.
amy - Hope you feel better after a sleep!
csab - It sounds like Maya and V are very similar in their weight gains and eating habits! I hope you get some answers about V's size.
Georgi - Maya doesn't take a bottle well either, but I can only express a few mls after a feed so I've put pouring it into her mouth, rather than using a teat. A lot of it ends up on her top, but she will drink some of it.
We're back from Maya's vaccinations. Poor girl screamed when the needles went in. :( She then had a bit of a feed and calmed right down. Then she stopped eating cos there was too much to look at. We came home and she had a better feed. So thankfully she's had two good feeds so far today!
I'm thinking I might still go to my mother's group this afternoon.
Oh gotta go.. Maya's calling.
well....
i finally pulled my ifnger out..and did the groceries :D yay!!!!
fed jack at 10am..let him have abit of a play whilst i wrote said shopping list... then shoved a nappy/wipes and spare outfit (for jack) into my handbag :) and off to shopping.... little man decided he would stay awake the WHOLE time.... then just at the end when i was getting fruit/veg he decided he was over shopping..so thought he would start grizzling... so i stood with the pineapples & cocnuts put wrap over him lightly and stood there rocking him off to sleep...must say i got afew stares... took him all of 2/3 mins to knod off....slept all the way home put him down he woke twice i resettled and heis still sleeping :D
amy..hugs hun!!! i hope you feel abit better after a well deserved rest!!!
Amy_o - meant to say earlier, I'm so glad you're still in BB, we'd miss you!
Cheryl - it's so nice having you back around, and sending good luck vibes for V's weight.
Georgi - have fun today, and great on the the feed
Tanya - sounds like the vaccination went well, hope she has good one & you make it to MG.
Katones - I shouldn't but I did laugh at your post re arms. Don't you hate it when you realise in retrospect that you shoulda done something different? Anyways, hope you can catch up on some sleep... and I imagine Jack will never be allowed to have arms out again!!
Teruteru - good luck with the bumbo, love to hear how it goes. I'll send you "book" vibes too  I feel for you having to study, I'd hate to be doing that now, so you have my sympathy.
My little man has been super grizzly the last few days. I have no idea why... but it's pretty humid here now, plus we had a fabbo thunderstorm this morning. My legs looked black and hairy, the dog was sticking so close to me (no, my legs aren't actually black & hairy!). Actually I do have one idea... we just got a bookcase for X's room (finally somewhere to put books & toys).. and so we rearranged his room and I think he wasn't quite sure about it all!
I'm in super-expressing mode today, trying to get as much as I can before my day surgery (to get my episiotomy fixed up) tomorrow. MIL is looking after X (at our place) with DH working from home (so he's there as back-up)... should be interesting I just hope it all goes ok. Plus I found out it's definitely $500 for the surgery gaaaaaah :wall: serves me right for going private huh!!! But on the bright side, I get my new PC on Thurs (YAY!) and I've got an appt for X with the paediatrician on thurs too - the MHCN thought he had a "clicky" hip on one side. So I'll pick the paed's brains re hives/dog saliva problems too.
So it feels like it's all happening... and I'm buzzing around trying to clean up a bit today cos of MIL coming... more fool me I should leave it messy and see if she tidies up - HA!
Ho hum that's it for me - hope your days are all improving, special  to SamiH & Amy_o having bad days.
Belfie too true...the only time he is arm free time is when he is awake :p
other than that he will be in his straight jacket blanket/wrap
belfie - hope all goes well tomorrow - put your feet up now and have a relax and make all that good milk for your little man - still in awe of what a great job you have done with expressing :)
I'm just crap cos of mastitis - not full blown - just getting dizzy sweats now, so wonderful hubby picking Riley up from school cos Ijust feel safe enough to drive.
I feel like I have achieved alot though - cooked 3 dozen chocolate and banana cupcakes for him to take to school tomorrow cos it was his birthday on Sunday - reminder, need to change siggie to say he is 6 - booohoo growing up
Going to bed :)
How's this for baby brain: I decided to go to mother's group. But when I went to leave it started raining so ran back in to get rain cover. Went to MG. Come home and saw my keys are still in the front door (which also has our car key on it)!!! :wall: OMG! I am sooooooooo glad we didn't get burgled!
belfie - GL for tomorrow! I hope it all goes well.
Sami - Hope you're feeling better soon.
katones - Sounds like it was a successful trip out. :) Maya fell asleep in her stroller on the way back so she's still in there now. Normally she wakes as soon as I stop moving it. But she's probably tired after her vaccinations I guess.
I eed to pull my finger out and decide when i am going to take Jack for his vaccinations....
HI girls i have missed so much .
Sorry been busy and tired *yawn*.
Well Friday night went well had yummy thai dinner and a bottle of bubbly lol. As you can see from the FB pics for some of you. I got home about 1am (i left early) and got about 4 hrs sleep before DD woke up :)
Ethan took about 100ml of the bottle that night at 7pm - threw it up and then didnt feed over night, he woke at 6am - DH tried to give hima bottle - he refused all but 40ml so i had to stretch him as far as a could to BF him. Lucky i stopped drinking at 11pm so by 7am it would have been fine.
But yep he is refusing the bottle again. which i am not devestated about, as it is nice that he wants the boob again. but has been cluster feeding. Sometimes feeding 2 hrly andothers not hungry for 4hrs. but that is fine.
I got a hippopotamus swaddle and it is great - although he still manages to get out of it! go figure. But he woke twice last night and i re swaddled and settled with a dummy. it has beenabout 3-4 nights i have not fed him until 630 . He will wake every now and then but is haoppy to settle without bb's so i figure he cant be that hungry!.
I have E booked in monday for his needles while DD is a FDC. I am also booked in for a womans check (i havent seena dr since E was born). they are just too $$ and we cant afford it right now.
On the exciting side i got a brand new deep fryer from my rewards points on my credit card. (its nice to get something for nothing).. very exciting - cant wait for calamari!! mmmm.
Otherwise. All good here *mwah*
hehe back frm a trip to the shops :) we ended up buying a brand spanking new bumbo for $70, the tray cost another $15 on top. at least DP likes it. now i jst need to be outbidded on ebay or i have to retrieve my bet somehow... we also bought some foam puzzle mats so guess that's what he gonna be sleeping on now. the floor mats were too exxy.
dragon was very angry today, been grumpy at both me & dp. wonder whats got onto him?!
teru - what is your bid up to?
well i finally get abit of time to myself...DH has decided to take Jack for a walk up the street :D Jack was so smiley & happy outside looking around everywhere...now to hang washing on the clothes horse :( and abit of time of the computer :)
Well obviously RENSTAR didn't make it to my place today  I decided to stay home all day. Wanted to make sure BJ fed & slept properly. We got through the day ok.
Dunno if any of you have seen my comment on FB today, but I tell ya, it's amazing how us women get together to support each other. I think it's great that when it comes to being a mum, everyone is so understanding.
BJ fed for 30mins before bed tonight  So I'm very happy  He did feed earlier than usual (6.15pm) so i'm not expecting him to sleep through tonight. I'm gonna go to bed soon so won't be able to dream feed him. Am just assuming i'll be up around 4am.
Oh.. BELFIE I hope all goes well for you tomorrow *hugs*
pp- theres still 1more day on the auction. its on $48 but max $50
eta- man im struggling to open my books, let alone get stuck into them *sigh*
I knew he wouldn't sleep through but I didn't think he'd want a feed at midnight, 4am & 5.20am. WTF? I have a newborn again. I guess all these days of not feeding properly has caught up with him. Now I have an exploda poo to go with it
morning ladies...
just a quick question...
for those of you who FF...how many mls is your little one taking? Jack is taking 200/210mls a time (it goes up to 210mls when made up) and drinks the lot :D) BUT now he is 4 mths (by weeks not date) i tried the next lot up which is 250mls before adding powder..i added the powder made it up...and he just left too much for my liking. When did your little one drink the next amount up?? if you all get what i am trying to say?? it just seems like a huge leap from 200-250mls...
little man was in his straight jacket last night :) slept from 9.30pm til..well now he is still sleeping, had a feed at 6am (is basically a dream feed) woke him, he was 1/2 asleep then he finished his feed and straight back into bed asleep :D
katones - my DD only ever drank 150 - 180 mls tops - she never got past 200 so I stopped making the bigger bottles cos I was wasting so much - I put her on FF at around 4 months - hope that helps.
Georgi - just when we have them figured out hey - Zander feeds like crap before bed - he feeds around 6pmish which I have tried to change by moving sleeps etc etc, so then when I want him to top-up at 7ish, he doesn't want it and just wants to go to bed  he is feeding fairly consistently around 4 - 5am for the past 2 weeks.
I am sick of all the probs I have with BB - cant log on, then interrupted, then database errors for the whole day etc - *sigh* not my server either cos I can do other stuff.
Zander has his needles this arvo, BBL hopefully. Need coffee :)
thanks samiH :D
he is a little piggy BUT i highly doubt he is going to drink 250mls+...he gets through his 210mls just fine now...couldn't expect the poor little man to drink 250mls 4-5 times a day....
teru..i got onto maz about the bumbo :D although am watching afew on ebay at the moment...
SamiH - its BB's server. they have out grown the other one. Be patient, it will be fixed one day.
Now Mia is back to normal she drink about.... 150-200mls 5-6 times a day. she is 4 months by weeks next week and there is NO WAY she would do 250 mls!!!!!!!!!! stupid tins! i dont think she will ever do that.. mayb @ 9-10 months.. if im lucky.
