sami
i hear you - it is hard with little ones
even ifi wanted to go to a friends house to take ds for a swim he ends up in the pram and i am in the water with dd. ds doesnt even get his toes wet.
too hard with a toddler - not like you can tell her - no dont go into the water - mummy and E are - just sit next to the pool
lolyeah right
Yeah - i think once she starts preschool next week I will have a new lease on life - 2 days to myself with Zander alone - whatever will we do lol - i wasn't organised enough to get in early, and now I am thinking about it all - it's too late!
Honestly, i dont believe he will suffer - and i truly believe that you can over-schedule your children - i know he just needs fun times with mummy, and he doesnt care what we do - I'll keep telling myself that anyway - but like Tanya said - sometimes its boring lets face it!! Until they can at least sit and grab stuff for themselves ....
Sick of this flippin heat here - can u tell LOL We are in Canberra for goodness sake - at 16.41pm it was 39.3 :(
lol for sure!
Well we are going out for indian tonight... mmm what should i order... any suggestions :)
I like Lamb Korma with Naan and Rice. Yum.
 we just had indian! Mmm butter chicken!
Hi all! I was up 3 times last night with Maya. I guess she's making up for the period where she wouldn't eat much! Before I was so worried about her not eating but she was sleeping well. Now she's eating well but not sleeping. I guess I should just be happy with whatever is working at the time!
Happily she was easier to settle last night than the previous night and one time I was even able to put her straight down after a feed and she chatted for a while then went to sleep. :hooray: She was also easier to settle during the day and had 3 naps of about an hour each.
My FIL came over today with lunch and we had a nice afternoon chatting.
Georgi - Good to hear BJ's back. I think BJs talk with Maya has helped her to start eating more again. Now can you get him to call her and tell her to sleep better again (but to continue with the good eating of course).
PP - I saw the wraps advertised for $24.95 at Toys R Us. But I don't know if that's both sizes or just the small. Oh and I'd never thought to wrap the arms only on a hot day! Maya's always getting out of her muslin wrap cos it's not big enough. I'm so glad you mentioned that you only wrap the arms. I'll have to try that now. :)
belfie - Maya had an u/s on her hips - can't remember when now.. I think when she was around 8 weeks old?! She had the u/s cos she had been in breech doing the splits! Anyway, her hips are normal. :) And the actual u/s was pretty quick and I was told the results straight away. I did mention the u/s at the time in passing but it prob wasn't very interesting cos it was normal. When's X's u/s?
kuraiza - Thanks for the settling suggestion. I haven't tried it. I'll have to give it a go. Hopefully I'll do it correctly. And hopefully I'll remember to try it. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with all the things I could try and forget them iykwim. I'm glad it's working for you. :)
Sami - I feel for you with the heat wave. It's been such a relief to have low 30s here. Though tomorrow is sposed to be 44!!
OK.. that's all I can manage right now. Hi to everyone I've missed!!
ive been reading but not posting.. just too hot to sit here...
Havent had a day under 42 for sooooooooooo long now. 44 tomorrow! but they said 39 today and it got to 47! grrrrr! so yes.. im still coming to QLD!!!!!!!!!!
quick post.. Mia is good. growing up too fast fo my liking. SHe chews on everything now.. toys, bibs anything!!!!!! rolls all the time and is trying to crawl. She drinks about 150 mls on average 6 times a day.. so not too bad. her spewing is still really bad but theres not much i can do about it.
take care xoxoxoxoxoox
Hi all, sorry but I'm not going to do personals, I have read everyone's posts though.
Julian is now holding toys and putting them in his mouth to chew, which is so cute. I'll be going to another BB meetup tomorrow night, without the kids.... so won't know what to do with myself, lol.
Quick question how many sleeps is everyone's bubs having now?
hugs xoxo
PP - this one's for you. DH caught snoring from your DH! :wall:
AmandaJ - that sounds so cute re Julian & his toys.
Re sleeps.. um X usually feeds 4 times a day, and has significant sleeps between each feed - so yeah, usually 3 sleeps and overnight. However, n days we're out & about, one sleep cycle would usually be a lot shorter (or non-existent even) os he's busy gawping at everything.
Hollye!!! I was about to say you've been missing in action... MIA! that's just too funny and bad pun was NOT intended but lol i had to write it now didn't i! So sorry mia is a spewy princess still, and missing you.. hope it cools down soon.
Tanya -thanks for telling me about Maya's u/s, helps put my mind at rest. X's u/s is on Monday so nice & quick at least.
amanda- dragon only naps during the day. our usu days starts anywhere between 10 to 12, and he'll have 3 naps (half hr each roughly) & sleeps ard 9/10. he hardly sleeps during the day prolly because he sleeps so much at night. but then again its prolly me cos i just want to sleep in LOL. he still needs his 3hr feeds at night but no biggy as he just goes straight back to sleep.
umm...hope everyone has a good weekend & keep cool for those down south!!
AMANDA - I second what Belfie said re sleep. BJ is EXACTLY the same
TANYA - BJ told me that he & Maya had planned to get up once last night. Did she hold up to her end of the bargain? He did, 2.40am
HOLLYE - Sounds like Mia is going great guns. Rolling & trying to crawl is fantastic.
HI to everyone!
We're off to Sydney this morning. Back on Monday. Taking the computer though. I hope BJ Is ok on the plane
I forgot to say that BJ is acting like he's teething. I had to buy some teething rings as he chomps soooo hard on everything. I don't think he is, he is only 4 months corrected. He has heaps of dribble too & is whinging real bad. Even after a feed & sleep.
Morning All,
Georgi - Have a great trip down here ok. I am glad BJ got up only once last night for you. What a good boy. He knew he was going to need his sleep for his plane trip today. :D All went ok with the Physician the other day, want need to see him again unless the BT's that I have to get done come back with something wrong. He does seem to think there is something wrong but until a new test comes up for another clotting disorder we may never know. That is of course if it isnt what he is already testing me for. He mentioned to me that with my m/c's last yr if I hadnt had any kids already he would have had me on clexane injections not the aspirin. He also said not to have any more kids as it will be unsafe for me. Anyway I am supposed to get these BT's done and I havent yet. hehehe. I am looking at getting them done on Monday. In a way I am hoping something shows up with these BT's as I really thought we were getting closer to knowing why I had lost my angels in the first place. ( Silly huh? ) Ohh and V said to give BJ a cuddle and kiss from her.....
Amy - Hope you have a better day today. Congratulations on the house.. Hope all goes well with the move next week.
Belfie - All the best for wonderful normal results for x's u/s. I really have everything crossed for you that all is ok. They kept telling me when I had V that she had clicky hips then they seemded to think it was all fine. However the pead mentioned one day that she opens her legs too far apart and was talking about doing an u/s on her as well. He hasnt mentioned it since, yet I really think he may be waiting to see how all goes with her heart u/s first then he probably throw that one at me again. ( I am really hoping like crazy that she doesnt have to have that u/s, I really dont want anything else to worry about. Hugs
Hollye - I have to agree with Georgi, Mia is doing really good rolling and trying to crawl. V I think could be another one of mine that starts moving around on her back instead of her front, hehehe. She loves moving her self backwards with her feet pushing down bringing her rear up. My DS1 started off the same way. hehehe. V has always got something in her mouth and usually her clothes and her hands. Its funny she starts off with her thumb then works her way up to all her fingers.
Amanda - V is doing the same with her toys, has been doing it for a while now, she loves playing with her toys that are in her pram too. V cat naps thru the day mostly. If she does get some sleeps in it is lucky to be 2hours at the most and that is usually at around 4-5pm once all the kids are home. Then she will go for her full nights sleep at 8-8.30pm and sleep for 10hrs or more. Occasionally does a little less.
Sami - Enjoy those days when it is only Z and yourself. I am so loving having this time with V now my second youngest has started kindy. I cant believe how quiet it is.... :leap:
PP - How was your dinner last night, hope you had a lovely time.
Katones - I cant believe you had a remark like that about Jack. Honestly some people have no brains. Jack is lucky to have a mummy like you helping him to relieve his teething. I am shocked that anyone could say such a thing, its just horrible. Ignore it hun, my DH wears chains so do my boys.... Ohhh ohhh hang on a minute!!!!! Maybe it is the chain making my DH want to have long hair!!!!!!! Just kidding!!!! Its just his midlife crisis..... going on!!!!!!.
Teru - Hope you have a great weekend too.
Well all is good here, V is having one of her cat naps atm, she loves holding things while she is napping. She is such a happy little girl, always has a smile on her face.
Jude catnaps. but i'm trying to get him to sleep more because he's often tired after he wakes up, he's just impossible to resettle.
right now he's chewing on my left hand, so this is a 1-hand post.
he sleeps 3 times a day but crashes out at about 6.30pm and wakes up twice through the night and then is awake by 6am usually. it's not the sleep pattern i was hoping for and every day i hope it will miraculously change.
he's been playing with toys and chewing on things for a while, also drooling but i don't think it's teething, just practise. he rolls from side to side and sort of on his belly, but ha hates being on his front and i don't do tummy time because i think it's dumb, babies all over the world function just fine without it, and it's fine if your baby likes his tummy ... but it's kind of torture if your baby hates it.
Kuraiza - V hates being on her belly too. She prefers laying on her back. So not much of tummy time here either due to her disliking it. Which is why she is more into moving around on her back. hehehe. She doesnt roll onto her tummy either, just side to side. She has also discovered her feet. She has them near her face quite abit now.
amy - That's great that you found a place to move to. :) I'm still looking for somewhere new to live but only online at the moment. I find it too hard to go look at places that are an hour or more drive away with Maya in tow!
katones - I'm glad Jack liked gymbaroo. :)
Hollye - 47 degrees! Yikes! I hope you have air con. It's up to 43 here at the moment. 27 degrees in the lounge with portable air con running. I'm hanging out for the cool change which is sposed to arrive this afternoon. I hope the change hits you too!
Amanda - Now Maya usually goes to bed for the night around 9.30 -10.30pm. Then wakes once during the night around 4-6am. Then sometimes she goes back to sleep straight away. Other times she's awake for a bit but does another long sleep. Gets up around 9.30 - 10am. Usually that's when I get up too. Then she'll do 2 or 3 naps of between half an hour to 2 hours. But if I leave the house she doesn't sleep at all or barely sleeps and I end up with a very over tired, very grumpy baby at the end of the day.
teru - Yeah I've been wondering if Maya goes to bed so late cos I love my sleep ins and I go to bed late. :dunno:
belfie - Hopefully they'll tell you straight away if there's a problem or not! That's what they did for us. I hope it all goes well.
georgi - BJ's talk worked. Maya only woke once at 5am and then went back to sleep till 9.30am! Have a great holiday. :)
csab - V sounds so gorgeous.
kuraiza - Maya absolutely hates tummy time too so I don't really bother doing it either. But lately she doesn't mind being on her tummy for a couple of minutes so I do it maybe once a day. Sometimes not at all though. What I discovered though is that she likes being on her tummy for a bit on the change table - I think because it is up higher and then there's more to see than being on the floor. But I do agree with you - lots of cultures don't do it and their babies turn out fine which is why I don't push it with Maya. I did have a MCHN tell me I have to do more tummy time with her so her neck muscles gain in strength but I just took no notice. I think Maya is a little bit behind other babies in terms of neck strength but I don't care cos I know she'll get there when she's ready. :)
oooh it's so hot - just hit 42.8 degrees (yes, that's a HOT redface, not an embarrassed one!)! I want a magnum!!!
We just got invited to a friend's place who have air con (apparently inside their house is 21 degrees) and they have an outdoor spa. :) I just hope Maya is OK with the trip and being at a strangers house.
ETA - OMG I just checked and it's 47 degrees!!!!!!!!!!!
I just started menstruating again. I forgot women menstruate. What a shock.
kuraiza....never nice when AF returns.....
i am dying!!!! it is tooo damn hot!!!!
You poor southern girls, I am almost glad for the humidity and constant rain at the moment!!
it's cooled down thank goodness!!! X decided this arvo was waaaaaaay too hot to sleep and spent lots of it lying on our big bed watching the fan go round.. and round... and round.
And then at his evening feed, I nearly accidentally head-butted him... and I did a big "oops" face and laughed and he got the giggles big time. We were both sitting there cracking up! It was awesome!!!
well it hasnt cooled down here - currently 39 degrees - poor Z cant sleep at the moment cos air con struggling with so many hot days in a row - only alittle one in living area which doesnt really reach his room - tried unwrapping him, but he keeps chewing hands and crying - I just dont know what else to do  So I am off to be grumpy and sad about that
Back tomorrow when it is supposed to be cooler
PS - dont forget whoever knows anything about teething necklaces pls post why they are suppsoed to be so good etc - I have a friend who has said her daughter has been "teething" for over two months - she is now 7.5 months old and no sign of anything - I know they can move etc - but it doesnt go that long - to be frank - I am bloody sick of hearing about it and EVERY time she cries - oh poor thing she is bothered by her teeth.
Hmm well that was a mini rant too LOL
xxxooooo to you lovely ladies though of course :)
PS Since my last post - it is 6.20 and the temp is stil 38.friggin 8 - I am so cranky :p
Very quiet here today.
I am loving the cool change! :)
Hope everyone had a great weekend. :)
Oh my, I just went to a work dinner with my husband and got home around 9.15pm to find Jude awake with the baby sitter. He usually goes to bed at 6.30pm and sleeps til midnight, so he was screaming his head off and we're giving him a bottle (I had some Rose) and hoping he'll go back to sleep. Poor baby, he's beside himself. :(
gosh very quiet today.
I had a good mumnesia moment today - went to the shops, collected the stuff I wanted, waited for aaaaages to be served. And yup - I'd forgotten to take my purse with me!! :wall: I was so annoyed I actually went all the way home, got my purse and then went out shopping again!
I'm in "distract self from worrying" mode. It's not working all that well, but oh well, a gal's gotta try! We've got our u/s for X's hips at midday tomorrow and I am soooo impatient. I'm not good with this whole waiting/wondering thingo. I'd rather just know one way or the other... oh well, not too long to go now.
Hope it's cooled down for everyone at last. It's awful hearing about the fire tragedies here in Vic... makes me appreciate how lucky we are to be home safe & sound.
sami- been meaning to answer u re teething necklace but been forgetful. anywyz heres the link baltic amber

Kat - i hope the swaddleme works for you :)
Big hugs to all the girls down south! i am thinking of you! :)
I hardly ever see the news any more and had no idea there were so many devastating bush fires till now. So sad!
I had a good weekend. Went to a friend's house on Sat to escape the heat. Went in their spa while Maya slept in the air con house. Then when she woke she wouldn't stop screaming. We finally realised she didn't like the chlorine smell! So both DH and I had showers and she was fine after that. I guess we now know she hates bleach, chlorine, disinfectant smells. I was hoping to take her for swim lessons when she's a little older but I don't know if I'll be able to.
On Sunday a friend came round and then afterwards my MIL came over.
Sami - I hope it's cooled down for you.
belfie - I hope X's u/s shows everything is OK!
kuraiza - I tried patting Maya on her side to settle her for bed. But it seemed to get her more upset. I'm prob doing it all wrong though. :( I've heard AF can come back around 4 months. I'm hoping it stays away for me! How did you go settling Jude back down?
katones - I hope you have success with the wrap. I still need to go buy one. I did bid on one on ebay but someone outbid me!
PP - Looks like E's doing well in growth. :)
OK.. that's all from me for now. Gotta get ready for mother's group.
kat - mine turned up in mail today - Zander is fast asleep in it - I absolutely love it - thanks PP!
I wish I could do the shakes, but cos still b/f can't - and has been too hot to do any exercise, but hard to get out with all the kids anyway, once G starts preschool that is my goal!
teru - thanks for link - but doesnt actually say how/if it works - has anyone tried the necklaces and had qualitative results - how did you measure the results - how do you know it works?
Tanya - LOL i know we all get self absorbed at times - 110 ppl have died the last I heard- so terribly devasting and sad
kurazia - poor thing with AF - i havent got mine back yet - fingers crossed! Z still fully b/f but I think anyday now .... good on you for getting out with hubby - we never get the chance - who do you use for a babysitter - a friend or something? I think I jus thave too much guilt leaving the poor person with THREE kids LOL
belfie - what does your saying mean to you hmmmm? Just curious ...
quickie - all clear on the hips!!!! YAY =I'm so relieved!!!!!
Belfie that is good that everything is OK with the hips :D
lol so true! Hopefully it won't be for aaaages. DH is still kinda smug cos I was actually more nervous on this one than he was... and he's usually the worrier. Hmmmph lol! The radiographer was really nice and after commenting that he's a fatty (in nice terms of course haha) she was quite happy to tell us that both hips looked good. And X just lay on the bench thingo and stared at the screen open-mouthed. He thought it was better than playtime!:
wait until the first emergency room visit
I haven't bought him anything for being perfect yet.. but I've been toying for a while with the idea of selling my P&T sports and getting the Vibe instead. I don't like the brake on the Sports.. and I walk a very rambunctious doggy - a handle brake would be much better & easier. So mebbe now I'll do that
Kat & SamiH - I'm with you on the weight! I want to get to my goal weight by Oct so we can TTC (and I can put it back on again ha!)... but like SamiH, can't do somethings while BF... and I'm waiting for healing... then... then... I'm toying with looking at the Weight Watchers thingo for BF'ing. I've never tried something like that before, but I think some support would be good. When I think I used to do triathlons (IN A FRIGGIN' TWO PIECE) & be superfit... aaah those were the days lol
oh and did I mention that when I'm happy I talk more? DH always says the best measure of my happiness is WPM - Words Per Minute. LOL better stop before the verbal diahrroea becomes uncontrollable
woo hoo!!! just went for a walk round the block!!! (it's a start!!!) Jack whinged abit but was good.. and is now screaming....
I am hoping we will be alot better health wise by the end of this year..to TTC DEC/JAN
E just rolled for the 1st time
belly to back
