i am wrecked absolutly smashed!!! Jack decided to go to sleep great last night then wake and fidget..go back to sleep then decided to stay awake from 1am - 6am :o .... my eyes are hangin outta my head!!! and it has put me in the foulest mood ever!!!! he fed at 6 and went back to sleep and is still sleeping now!!!! feel like wakin the bugger up for keeping me awake!!!!

I think when people pay retail or more for items they often live in rural settings without the access of shops for these items,
I know this was the case for me when i lived rural.

Or they are just not aware.

Well both kids are snotty (yay) and i am tired.

OMG.. Where has Byron gone? I think i'm going to stalk the Baby Buddies January thread as I think someone has swapped me a newborn! This baby is feeding every 3 - 4 hours.... Around the clock! I am praying he's just making up for the last month of fussy feeding & that he'll be back to his sleeping through the night self in no time. Man...

AMY Sounds like Kindermuisk was great for Bethany. It's good to find something enjoyable like that. Byron likes his swimming lessons

TANYA Yoga was much better than last week. Though the instructor was late so BJ grizzled for the last 20mins. I had to hold while doing the tree pose & some floor exercises. I managed to use his weight for added intensity :lol: I had Byron call Maya, he said she'll be feeding like he is now, in a week or two. Unfortunately that means you'll be up every 3 - 4 hours overnight! If you're worried about your supply, just express after your first morning feed, or after her the feed she is fussiest on for the day. BJ's was always the first morning one. But remember, supply & demand. It will increase again when she starts feeding better again. I also read that in Babylove. But BJ's lasted 5 or 6 weeks. He's sure making up for it now.

HOLLYE Are you still thinking of moving to QLD?

Didn't see RENSTAR yesterday. BJ was sleeping & I had time restrictions. Going today, around 1pm (QLD time).

Gotta get ready for swimming lessons....

I am feeling really blue today, so unlike me ....

I think I just feel "stuck". Before kids I was happy with myself and body etc - but it seems like each time I fall preg (even with m/c) that my body says - whoa, wack on an extra 5 kgs just for luck. I lost the weight after Giselle, but then had 2 m/c and first time put on 3 kg (angel 8 wks) and second time 5kg (angel at 13wks) - and didn't lose it again before Zander. So now I am feeling pudgy around my tummy and hips and I am hating it. I am not the youngest chick on the block so harder to budge too.

Now, I know I can fix it - but I just cant get the time!! I was going to kick off 3 weeks ago and crap happens all the time. Sounds dumb, but between the heat we have had, sick kids, and Zander not being a pram baby like my other two, I am lucky to walk the 500 m to the shops and back to pick up a few groceries without him saying put me to bed!, Giselle complaining she wants to go home etc - she starts preschool next week so I am hoping I can then get out every day for a 30 minute walk and just put an ipod on if Zander gets grizzle - he will fall asleep - but about 20 mins is his limit.

Anyway, like yesterday - I was planning to get to shops to get some healthy salad stuff for lunch - with Giselle vomiting I drove to school and pushed RIley out the door and came home, and vice versa in the afternoon! So needless to say I only had bread and more bread in the cupboard for lunch, and RIley's 2 leftover cupcakes from school, so I ate them with a coffee.

Ok, feel better for getting it out - prob should have posted in boohoo, or diet/weight loss area - but really didnt want everyone to read and give me all their tips - cos I know what i have to do, I am an organised person, crap has just happened every week.

PP - Z escaped 3 times last night - I ordered one on-line for the $29 delivered in large - cant wait till it arrives. One of my friends was crapping on about a danger when he rolls - both my kids were wrapped until 6 months and after - depends how you wrap them - anyway, I cant wait until it arrives!

Next Tues I am meeting some BB girls from Canberra for a coffee so that will be nice - first time I have done it!

Better go and eat some food - lol - have a coffee and play with Giselle before Zander wakes ;)

Oh katones!! I feel for you!! Maya went to bed at 10pm very tired and was wide awake at midnight! She didn't go to sleep again till 2am!! Up for two hours! Not as bad as 5 hours though. But I was just going to bed at midnight. So in the end I didn't go to sleep till 2.30am. And then Maya woke at 6.30am. I managed to get her back in bed around 8.30am and I decided to crawl back in bed too cos I was sooooooooo tired. Then she woke at 10am and is still up now. I plonked her in front of the TV now cos I just need a break. So I am surviving on about 5 1/2 hours sleep today. :(

Sami - :hug: Yeah I feel bad about my body too. I thought it would go back to my original shape, but I have a flabby tummy now and I can't fit into any of my old jeans. :( I'm getting to the point where I think it's time to buy some new jeans in a size up. I don't own scales so I don't know if I've put on more weight or not. I think it's actually more to do with my tummy muscles cos I had a big separation and then never wore my band thing. I prob need to do some sit ups. :rolleyes:

well we went to the paed's this morning - he wants to do an ultrasound on X's left hip, cos it's a little "clicky". Hmm, fingers crossed there's no dramas there - we're booked in for monday so at least it's nice & quick.

Glad you can all picture me walking hehe... and sorry to hear of those with little sleep! I was stuffed last night (think the surgery & previous night of not being able to sleep caught up with me... I fell asleep in the middle of being grumpy at DH lol!).

Fascinating seeing Jack's measurements Katones! I like seeing how they all vary (cos lets face, it takes lots of variety to create this so-called "normal"!) so I thought I'd add in X's:

BIRTH WEIGHT ~ 3.4 kgs
4 MONTHS OLD ~ 7.6 kgs

BIRTH LENGTH ~ 51.5cms

So in a nutshell, X is shorter & fatter than Jack hehe. The paed just looked at me as we were leaving, and said, oh yeah - I didn't bother weighing him. To which I replied that's fine, he's a heifer. Hmm it's probably wrong to call my son a cow. Anyways, the paed also thinks that the hives might be more a general skin sensitivity issue than a specific dog allergy (fingers crossed hey SamiH!) and suggested we try it as an experiment in a few months lol. Can you picture it? Here doggy, come lick baby!!! Doggy would think all her christmases had come at once with a bubsicle to lick!

Btw, I googled Gymbaroo & Kindermusik - can't wait to go try one, they seem great! I'm leaning towards Kindermusk... anyone else got any recommendation/preference?

Georgi - E did that the last fortnight - feeding 4 hrly overnight. but i started going back to wrapping and dummy and he is doing better - sometime wakes once the last couple of days.

SamiH - Hugs hun! I hate th podge on the belly too. I have lost most of my baby weight - i guess having 2 kids in 16 months i didnt give my body a chance to get back in shape as i was pregnant 7 months after giving birth. I dont do any exercise now lol - running after the kids exhausts me enough. My back is suffering though! :(

As for rolling and wrapping you will know when the right time to stop wrapping is.
What colour did you get? I have the blue circles one vv cute!.
Also it is harder fromthem to roll when they dont have arms to help so i wouldnt worry too much :)

Belfie - fingers crossed everything is ok with the xray!

Well E did well today. i wrapped him tight inthe swaddle and put him in the pram and he slept for 2 hrs while i took ashley to the playground (do you ever wrap in the pram Sami? might be a way to get longer than 20min of walk time

He has his shots monday so i can tell you how well he has progressed with weight... i would be surprised though if he made it to 7kg yet though.

They are still snotty. E is in his cradle swing (hopefully asleep - his door is shut but i cant hear him crying) and A is laying on my lap feeling a little worse for wear and exahusted from playing all morning ... watching me type (i know she is tired as she isnt trying to type with me lol)....

I tried a front carrier with E today and OMG i am in pain. i am going back to the sling i have decided so much easier and comfortable.

TOmorrow night DH and i are going out to dinner for a friends bday (INDIAN FOOD mmmm)... not sure if the inlaws will baby sit for 2 hrs or we take them with us... might be nice for DH and i to have a bottle of champers though together... will see.

I am off to have lunch - dimsims lol... gourmet hey hahah.

It is hot hey! - poor things. i just walked home with the 2 kids from the playground at 1230 and melting lol

Maya seems to be eating a bit better! But she won't sleep!! :rolleyes: I have been rocking and rocking and rocking. She is so hard to settle at the moment. I don't know why!? What changed?! I've always had to rock her to sleep, but she was getting better and it was taking less and less time. Now I've gone back to having to rock for half an hour or more! :(

PP & Sami - Where did you get your wraps from? I'm trying to use a very light wrap with Maya cos it keeps being so hot here. But she gets out of it very easily. Maybe that's what is making her harder to settle. :dunno:

Tanya - you can buy them in stores on online stores But there is a store on ebay that has them for $29 posted . Just do a search :)

Bubs will go though phases of sleeping and non sleeping - dont ever get comfortable with a routine as it will change a week later (just to keep us onour toes).

I hope she sleeps well for you tonight :)

PP - I did a quick search and looks like that ebay store is the cheapest. I might buy one to try. :) And I know babies change all the time. I was just used to the old routine and now I have to figure out this new one. They definitely do keep us on our toes!

katones - I really can't believe someone said that about Jack. That is such an ignorant thing to say. Men wear jewellery all the time - gay or straight! Jack will turn out how he turns out - whether or not you put a teething necklace on him.

teru - Until this week Maya was sleeping well during the day. But that's all out the window at the moment. She's not even sleeping well at night. :(

Lucky you guys all know whats going on in my life - PP helped me in the "selection process". Yes I bought a wrap like a bag, cos Zander is fine, but kicks his sheet off so then he carries on until his wrap is around his neck like a poncho :ROFL:

PP - I got the green circle one - I thought that way I could pass it on for neutral colour. I did wrap Z in the pram, but with it being hot, stopped - but I did put a cotton wrap and tuck it around his shoulders so bit of feeling of being wrapped when he is dozy .. I wrapped Riley until he was 11 months - not tight, with a cot sheet in the end cos he was such a big boy, just to start the sleep off really cos he LOVED it, and he just got out easy when he flipped to tummy and moved around his cot. Giselle we stopped about 7 months and she went into a bag ... I am not concerned at all with any rolling/smothering issues :)

Teru - Zander has 3/4 sleeps during the day - prob averages 4 - 5.5 hrs, and does about 11 overnight.

That's the most bizarre thing I've ever heard! He's a baby for cripes sake! I reckon he's more likely to be a happy well-adjusted child because his mother his looking after his teething needs! stomps around on her soapbox for a bit!

You will need a large i would say as E is in a large. (just check as often the smaller sizes are cheaper! :P)

There are snug as a bug too but they have legs in them rather than a sleeping bag bottom :)

Well i am wet and sandy as ashley and i just spent an hour in the sandpit which has filled with water from the rain lol... and no we are having banana iced smoothies! mmmmmmmmmmm

I thought I saw PP mention those wraps cause I've been using them since BJ came home. DH bought me a Small, Medium & Large when I was 8wks pregnant. I use them at night so he doesn't get out of them. They're a bit hot for the day time. I have the green one too. It's so nice. That's the large. The small I have yellow, & the Medium is white with planes, trucks & cars on it. Funny enough DH thought that was neutral :rolleyes:, we obviously didn't know the sex then.

I saw Renstar & Ava today. Oh my, she's just soooo cute. I CAN NOT believe BJ was nearly half her size. She was sooooo tiny. I just can't fathom he was that small. Amazing how easily we forget.

Georgi - we dont use them day time either - we use a light muslin wrap for his arms - legs free and air con on 25 :)

I use the swaddleme as kinda like a que for 'night time sleep' if that makes sense :)

as for trucks lol... very cute perhaps to a boy it is neutral! haaha

geeesh. You know how i said I wasn't going to worry about the u/s for X's hip. Well I've changed my mind haven't I. DH is unavoidably out tonight, I'm still taking it easy... and my imagination is running away with me. I KNOW there's no point worrying if he's got hip dysplasia (DDH) - there's no history of it in our family... BUT I don't know anyone who's had an u/s then got the all clear (probably cos they don't need to talk about it at all!). I only know of babies who had the u/s and turned out to have DDH... so I'm feeling a bit nervous... and I'm googling which is such a bad idea :wall:

anywyz need to get to my much needed studying. D-day is in a weeks time yikes.

Belfie: I don't know about babies and ultrasounds, but I had to have an ultrasound on my boob after I had Jude to check for breast cancer and it came up all clear ... just normal breast tissue. It was VERY reassuring to know I could stop worrying about that lump.

Jude woke up just once last night which was nice, last time he did that was on my birthday 6 days ago. Not exactly a pattern, but always appreciated. The community midwife came by yesterday and showed me a great settling technique when Jude was screaming all red in the face and choking.

She swaddled him and rolled him on his side so he was facing away from us. With one hand she held his shoulder and arm firmly and with the other hand she patted his hip/bum in a heart-beat rhythm, fast to match his heart beat and then she slowed right down and then held him firmly for a few minutes. It was amazing, Jude calmed down so quickly and went to sleep.

Tanya: Have you tried the above settling technique? I use it to resettle Jude yesterday (only the 2nd time I've done that successfully). It took me about 15 minutes for him to sleep but he was calm that whole time.

belfie - re FB chat - i know of loads of ppl who have had to have the u/s and then nothing - so you worry cos you are his mummy, which is what you are supposed to do, but just dont worry TOO much until the u/s - KWIM?

kuraiza - so great to hear that something worked - I remember doing that with Riley when he was around 4 months for a week until he settled - but whenever I rolled him back he woke again:rolleyes: we got there eventually though.

Now, whats the go with these amber teething necklace thingies - I have read threads on everyone getting/having one - what properties are supposed ot help and how? My kids have never had real issues with their teething, but Zander is his own person so you never know.

I hve a heat headache already - 38 yesterday, 38 today, 39 tomorrow and 38 Sunday - with minimal overnight relief - I am just not sleeping well. Zander woke around 1 cos he was unwrapped and I just fed him one side to get him back to sleep quickly :redface: I was too tired to settle - he was out of wrap by 9pm but I decided to let him go cos it was so hot - i could tell he was trying to get back to sleep nd wanted the comfort. But he escaped again about 4
and I just rewrapped in cot and he went back to sleep - so maybe I am feeding needlessly early morning - BUT it is really hot so he probably needs some extra fluds -

Tanya - yes b/f icky in the heat, I was dripping after his 1am feed and turned the aircon back on and sat in the lounge area for 15 mins to cool down.

Anyway school drop off here we come!

KURAIZA I do that often with BJ. Though I do sleep him on his side during the day anyway. But always hold him down.

BELFIE I just did a quick google on DDH and it doesn't appear to be a HUGE problem if attended to early. I know it's not exactly something that you would wish upon anyone, but it must be reassuring to know that if he does have it (which only 1 in 3000 boys do have it), it can be easily fixed. Worrying is a natural part of mother hood so don't beat yourself up for it. I worry about EVERYTHING!

I'm glad to announce that my little BJ is BACK. He slept till 5.30am. Although I did dream feed him at 10.30pm which I don't normally do cause I am usually in bed by then. But just happy not having to feed him 3/4hourly over night.

Yesterday, BJ vomitted & it had browny/red bits in it. I freaked, thinking it must be blood. I telephoned 13 health & they ran through a checklist of symptoms to which I answered no to. At that point it was decided that I should keep an eye on him & if it happens again just go to the doctors.. Then, DH asks "Could it be from the blackcurrent & blueberry Frosty Fruit I gave him last night" :rolleyes: I guess he won't be doing that again.

Thanks for the reassurance guys :hug: much appreciated. I've got a girlfriend who's bubba has DDH, and having the brace while it's good/preventative and all that, it has been stressful for them too.... so fingers crossed. As Georgi says, it's way less common in boys... and SamiH told me I'm a good mummy for worrying. I think my.. um resilience is a bit low this week after the op and things are getting to me. So I invited a really nice girl from MG round for coffee this arvo, that'll keep me semi-sane. but really u all know there's bats in the belfie ha (that's what I shoulda got in my avi lol).

Kuraiza - goodness that must have been scary getting your boob scanned. I think I would be a nervous wreck. And late Happy Birthday! That settling technique sounds awesome btw too!

Georgi - OMG can't beleive DH gave you such a fright! Naughty fellow! He owes you flowers or breakfast in bed or sumthin!

SamiH - oh hot hot hot - and that's not just you! Icky - hope you get a better night tonight. And I also know nothing about these necklaces (apart from their supposed "gay-turning" properties).... I'm interested to hear.

I had MIL & FIL over yesterday arvo. They were too funny. X was fast asleep - the next thing I know... I've turned around and FIL is there holding a very sleepy looking X!!! I'm said "um.. why is he up, he wasn't awake". And FIL is like... yes he was, his eyes were open. I looked a bit skeptical, so MIL jumped in and said "I'll take him back to bed". she trots off with him and I hear all these giggles and coos from the nursery. 10 mins later she calls out "oh he's wide awake, he's not going back to sleep, I'd best cuddle him". :rofl: they were like a pair of mischievous 10 year olds with a new toy! I didn't even have the heart to be mad cos they were just too funny! Did I mention that he's their first grandchild.. OMG we're training grandparents too! :lol:

am BARELY here...Jack had reactions to his immunisations yesturday didn't he... ontop of that he was constipated AGAIN!!!!! he slept with me last night so i could keep an eye on him..his temps were near 39...poor little man...he finnaly pooed at 3am :D had more nurofen at 3 and slept til about 6 where i was awoken by BIG smiles and a very happy lil man. Hi leg also reacted to one of the needles...so shall have to check it this morning... he did go down in his cot last night but at 1 was fidgeting so popped him in with me and he dozed off on my chest. so little sleep again today..no matter.
Gymbaroo...we are going....lady rang me back after my email saying i was disappointed about their bad communication etc...and said "oh you are booked in we have held a spot for you..."
I went back to see my psychologist yesturday (lovely lady) and had MAJOR meltdown there BUT felt 100% better after it.... was alot calmer also when dealing with Jack..not getting frustrated.

hmm i think i need to invest in one of the kiddopptumus wrap things...as mr houdini can escape most night!!!! i even resorted to tying the ends of the wrap as he escapes.... BUT he wriggles heaps...therefore loosening the ties...

good idea - not early at all! - Z tends to get up around 6.30 - 7ish and I try to have him back in bed by 8 so he can get 40 mins before school - he is getting used to it though so that is good - but yesterday he was too tired to stay up until 8.40 for school run, so put him to bed at 8.15 - poor darlin!

Katones - yeah I reckon the immi's are worse this time around with the rotavirus too - Zander was unsettled on Wed - up for 30, down for 30 etc - but was much better yesterday and slept alot! Hope Jack finds his rhythym again today :)

samiH ~ nope still slight temps and does NOT want to be put down!!!!! he is tired BUT refuses to go off to sleep.....we are going to gymbaroo..wether we do anything is up to him...maybe he will sleep in the car before we get there???

SAMI - DH is VERY naughty. He, for some crazy unkown reason, wants to start BJ on solids. I have no idea why but I keep having to tell him that he's not ready for them as he's showing no signs at all. We usually have the orange frosty fruits so I guess that was always disguised in his vomit. But IGA ran out of them ones. I don't think DH will do that again, thankfully

I'm going to do this super fast bullet point style while there is a lull in the chaos that is my life right now.

* Got house!! Very happpy, nice house, will like being there which is good since we are locked in for 4 years on this low income rent thingy.

I'm worshipping at my MIL's feet. She just came around and fed X, emptied & stacked dishwasher & cleaned up kitchen, made my bed, made me lunch!!!! My stomach is upset for goodness knows what reason so I'm feeling like total crap & I think i did too much yesterday cos I'm sooooo sore. I'll just have ta keep waddling....
