woohoo on the win belfie!
ebay is great for babystuff
Well my contributions for the topics of the hour -
* AF - yep no AF yet , no idea what AF will or was like, Was onthe pill for 8 years and fell pg 2 wks after i stopped it and then 2 weeks after weaning DD - so technically no had a proper ovulation and period since i WAS 17.
* DTD yep it is starting to become enjoyable again. Probably only dtd about 6 times since birth - the last 2 have been normal and good! i guess i remember how much it hurt with DD - and it took me 6 months to be comfy with DTD - so i think 4 months this time (with a 2nd degree tear too) isnt too bad.
Also i hav huge fears of falling pg again as i am not going backon the pill ever again if i can help it!
So that was part of my nervousness when DTD
E is still waking once overnight - anytime between 2-4am for a feed and then both kids wake at 6am to start the day :)
But gee i love weekends.DH take the kids out the lounge at 630 for me and i get to sleep in for about 2 hrs... bliss!!!!!!!!!!!!
E seems to poo every 6 days. it seems so long. DD always pooed twice a day (still does) lol...
Thinking of work.... With the rates on the house so low atm i would be silly go to go back 1-2 days aweek and try pay the house of quickly while the economy is bad.... but might try waiting until E is 6 months and will wean then off the breast.
mmm well there is my thoughts for this morning. Waiting for E to wake up and take A to the playground to burn some energy.
p.s - tanya - stalk your postie babe - your parcel is on its way :)
-
Hello lovelies
well DH just decided to tell me now that he put Z on his tummy today and he rolled straight onto his back - so he has done both now - just waiting for more consistency!
Someone knick-knocked us last night - lucky i had just got up at 1 to dummy Z - and then the doorbell went at 1.30am with giggling girlie sounds running off - the buggers, lucky I was already awake :wall:
Z still fed at 4.30am - pretty much the norm at the moment too ...
Making Anzac bikkies - Riley having a mini fete and his class doing the bake staff for funds to raise for the bushfire appeals. That is, if he doesnt eat them all on me first ;)
Bakc later :)
-
what is nick knocking? lol..... sorry no idea what that is.
E is rolling both sides now too!
No more change tables, couch or bouncers without strapping!!!!
-
PP - when someone knocks on your door/rings your bell in the middle of the night and runs away lol
DISCOVERY
Well, Zander just had another runny nappy - I thought hmmm - had a good look at his bottom gum, and yep, there are two definite white lines there, his teeth are just under the surface so wont be long i think until they cut - hopefully that explains the unsettledness of the past week. got the teething gel out now :)
For mummies who havent seen kids teething - ppl tend to look at the front of the gum - but you have to look more towards the back of the front gum - that is where they cut and then move forward a bit as they grow if that makes sense - you can miss it otherwise, and have to get them to move their tongue lol - i think i did with Riley and thats why i didn't really know until they had cut. Mind you he was 7 months and Zander is only 4.5 ......
-
yep SamiH Jack has got 2 little white teeth sitting there!!! i wish they would hurry up!!!!
-
katones - love the avi. :)
Sami - I might look at Maya's gums when she wakes up next. She is such a different baby lately!
PP - Ohhh.. very exciting. :) I'll be checking my post regularly. :)
Last night I got Maya into bed earlier than normal.. 9pm! Well that's early for her. Then she woke at 2am and was up for 2 hours!!!!!!!!!! That was so tough! :( Finally got her back to sleep at 4am and then she woke at 6am. :wall: Then she went back to sleep around 8am for another 2 hours, so I had a nap then too. I am soooooooooo tired at the moment though. She seems to be easier to put down during the day at the moment rather than night time. :wall:
I had a nice afternoon today though. Went to a mother's group picnic and I started talking to one mum about how I want to try cloth nappies and was asking her questions about it and she's getting rid of some of hers so she's offered to give them to me to try. Plus she's going to give me some of the ones she likes to have a go with too. So now I can have a proper go at trying cloth and trying different kinds before I decide whether to buy. :)
-
awww thanks Tanya
i am now getting abit of time to myself!!!!
dadda is home for a week and takin on the role of feeding/burping :D
-
aww gorgeous avi Kat - love the saying too hehehehe... hmm I feel like chocky now!
Well X has been totally out of sorts, screaming at 2.30am... screaming this arvo... then I took him shopping and he was angelic! Go figure huh.
PP - OMG I cannot believe how long it's been since you've had AF, I'm truly envious lol. And woo hoo for E rolling!
SamiH - good info re teething. I'd wondered about X cos he is out of sorts, having MUCH smaller feeds than usual, lots of screaming etc... but I can't see any teeth there.
Tanya - I reckon Maya & Xander were PM'ing each other at 2 in the morning... "shall we wake up mummy? Yeaaaah let's do it, she doesn't really need sleep!"
Katones - nice work on the daddy-break!
Bought a bouncer on ebay today, I'm getting hooked it's soooo exciting!
-
Hi all.
V day was good, DH and I exchanged cards and we tried to have our romantic dinner, didn't quite go to plan.... but we ended up having a late dinner and dessert.
I've got the beginnings of mastitis :( in my left boobie, have a big red/hot patch just above the areola, I've been massaging it...so hopefully I won't be having to get antibiotics. I've got a slight temp and a headache, I've never had it before so don't really know the symptoms.
hugs xoxo
-
Amanda: Take Panadol if you feel any chills coming on because once you start shivering uncontrollably it's really awful, that's what happened to me. If it gets to that, go see a doctor immediately and take the antibiotics. You do not want the infection to get any worse. A girl from my antenatal group had to have her breast drained with bandages inside her breast, and had to go to the hospital to have the bandages drained every day for over a week, so don't delay seeing a doctor is my warning.
Tanya: Does that happen very often that you're up for 2 hours at night trying to resettle Maya? It doesn't sound like you're getting any sleep these days. I don't sleep either, but it's mostly my own fault because I can't go back to sleep after feeding Jude. He usually feeds twice a night.
I'm really curious about these babies going to bed so late at night. Does anyone else have a baby that crashes very early at night like Jude does? He also wakes up early, there's no way I could convince him to sleep in til 8am. Not a chance.
I can't dream feed Jude. Once he crashes he can't be woken until he decides to wake up, and if I try to feed him in his sleep he just lies there like a rag doll and comfort suckles a little bit, but doesn't swallow any milk. I wish he would dream feed and skip a night feed (or 2).
-
kuraiza - Zander goes to bed relatively early - normally anywhere between 7pm and 8pm - but last night was up and down for 90 mins cos he would start screaming - which he has never done, I am more convinced teeth now. That is the routine I have gotten him into to coincide with my other two - I dont particularly want to get the other two into bed, then still be up for 2 hours with Zander - definitely no me/us time then!
Dream feed doesnt work here, Zander either just purses his lips, or wakes fully and is difficult to settle. He fed last night at 3am but with his probs feeding the last few days i am fine with that - he then slept until 7.30 and I have put him back down with some Bonjela now!
Amanda - go to doc - my advice is get the anti's anyway - as kuraiza said - once the chills and shakes set in, ohmy - very scary and you won't be able to look after your kids - you will need your DH or someone else responsible around - first time I had it was this time b/f too and it was terribly frightening - i cant recall feeling so out of it and sick - so a couple of weeks ago when i got a hot patch etc, thats why i went straight to docs and got antis!
Zander woke at 2am but settled with a brief pat, and as i said fed at 3am - i did give him paracetomal at about 8pm though when we had tried to put him down twice already - and he still took 45 mins after that to sleep - his gums this morning look a bit more mushy - but poor fella clocked himself in the head with a toy he was shaking all over the place - so hard to tell if before bed crying was head or mouth lol.
-
By early I mean: Jude would call it a day at 5pm some days (if I let him), I usually keep him busy til at least 6pm or he'll wake up at 4.30am and think it's play time.
-
re bed times.. yeh Mia has an early one 7pm-8pm. She dream feeds at 11 and sleeps till about 7am. Im looking for some baby hairclips, just the plain ones to try and do something with Mia's crazy hair, anyone know where i can get some, i have already looked on Ebay.
ETA - not quite that early.. but 7 is still early i guess.. the suns still out lol
-
Hollye - i found the best thing for that age is little butterfly clips - they grab the hair really well and stay even if they have fine hair - the slide clips always fell out of Giselle's until she had more hair. Big W, Coles, pharmacies etc
Just remember to take them out before she goes to sleep or starts to grab at her hair ;)
That little 2yo that was run over in her driveway by her mum in her 4wd lived 3 houses down from my BIL - such a tragedy.
-
Morning All,
Sami - I think it is true us women following suit with AF. I have to say I am so crabby too. Just not happy Jan!!!!! We used to call it Knock and Run when we were kids.
Amanda - Thank you. Sorry about the Mastitis, I hope you feel better soon hun. Thats nice you and DH are thinking about No. 6. My DH is definately not going there. hehehe
Georgi - I just knew I was going to get AF the first time, the ewcm was in abundance ewwwww!!!!!
PP - I envy you too with not having AF for so long. You know I think it is the other way round for me, DH is the one that is way too scared of another pgcy. hehehe
Katones - Woohoo for Jack having two white teeth.
Kuraiza - I am a sheep too. :)
Belfie - I hope AF is being have itself.
Teru - As the others mentioned about ewcm and ovulation. Hope your study went well.
Tanya - Gee a massage sounds nice, lucky you. :)
Well as for the DTD topic, I believe we have done it abit more the 6times since having V, I think DH would go nuts if he didnt get it. The first time I was soooo nervous about it, and I must say it hurt alllloooootttttt. Even now still does. Its the only time I am glad AF is visiting.
As for teething, the earliest I had one of my kids get teeth was at 3mths, one day my DS2 had 2teeth the following week he had another 2, so a total of 4teeth at 3mths. I hope all your bubba's cope well.
Anyway I have 2 kidlets at home sick today not fun poor things. hugs V also has decided to get up an hour earlier than usual. hugs all.
-
Morning Hollye,How is little Mia today? V goes to bed at 8-8.30pm every night. I hope you find the clips you want. hugs The butterfly clips are the best, I have to agree with Sami. You can also try Best & Less. V hates anything on her head.
-
HEY! Just for the record, that joke about women all getting their periods the same time online was my joke, Sami was quoting me. For an out-of-work writer, I've got to keep the credit for my work! ;)
I don't think 7-8pm is too early. It's a good time for a baby to go to bed.
-
:grouphug:I was just about to type I cant take the credit for that one LOL - I quoted K and then laughed at the end as my comment - but the quote didnt come out in italics i think cos i put it into bullet point?
Now PP are you going to pop in and say goodbye here hun? PP has posted a thank you and goodbye thread ... :grouphug:
-
Kuraiza - :) Take the credit hun, well deserved,
PP - Was wondering the same thing as Sami was.
Well I was very good today just spent 1hr 30min on the Wii Fit. hehehe
-
Hi girls
Yep!
Sorry extremely nauseated this morning *insert freak out here!!!*
I hope you all the best with your little angels..
I will be on facebook . I just need to spend less time in cyber world and more in real life.
I feel i have an addiction to BB and it is hindering my ability to be attentive to my children.
So i have to leave cold turkey.
E woke 3 times last night. And is imppossible to settle without boob as he hasnt had a dummy in about a month (refuses it).... so i was exhuasted this morning!
He has 2 little teeth just under his bottom gum i can see... so that will be fun hahaha!
Tanya - i hope the post y is speedy for you
and i will chat to those on FB soon
*mwah*
-
Bye kel :( ill miss u
new pics of Mia added.
-
Just a quickie from me at the moment.
PP - I'll miss you on here! I've loved your input and advice! See you on FB!
kuraiza - I tried the patting Maya to sleep thing again that you mentioned and it worked today. :) Actually a woman at MG also mentioned it and showed me how to do it today. And even though your description was very accurate I am such a visual person that having someone show me was easier for me to have the confidence to know what I'm doing.. if that makes sense. Anyway, I wanted to ask if you are still doing it to help Jude to settle and is it still working? Also, do you leave Jude sleeping on his side? I tried moving Maya onto her back after settling her on her side and she woke as soon as I turned her over and was not a happy bubby! So I had to start from scratch and have now left her sleeping on her side.
Anyway.. wanted to get that all down before I forget! I'll BBL.. need a cup of tea! :)
-
you will be missed PP!!!
who was asking about cloth nappies???
I have a whingy sooky boy!!!! driving me insane...wants to be held 24/7!!!!
-
kuraiza thanks for the info on mastitis, Julian is usually in bed anywhere from 5:30-6:30, usually about 6pm, so yep he goes down early which for me is good because then I can organise dinner/baths etc.
Sami thanks also on the mastitis front, I think I caught it quite early I massaged it a few times last night and the red patch seems to have gone now, still feeling a little tired so hopefully it will go soon.
PP sorry to see you go hopefully I will catch you on FB and catch up sometime.
Hollye will look at the pics of little miss Mia in a sec.
Kat you sexy mumma you, love your Av.
Well Cody has passed on his runny nose to Julian the poor bubba, he woke at midnight (which isn't like him) and only had a slightly runny nose, then woke again at 5:30 and had a feed and was so stuffed up and runny he didn't really sleep much only catnapping until lunch when he crashed, my poor baby. I'll be taking him off to the Drs tomorrow just to make sure nothing else is wrong as he's pulling his ear, but it may just be blocked.
I think I got on top of my mastitis as well, I just massaged it heaps last night and the red patch seems to have gone and same with the pain.
hugs xoxo
-
Tanya: Yep I leave him on his side and prop him up a bit with some rolled up cloth nappies. He has rolled onto his face which upset him, but he usually rolls back. I'm glad to hear it's working. I'm very visual too so I understand my description didn't help much.
Woops I think I was rude to a girl at MG today, she said she went to sleep school and they taught her to leave her baby to cry itself to sleep and I said that went against my philosophy, but I wasn't meaning to be judgemental because actually Jude isn't bad about crying non-stop so I can't say what I would do if I had a baby who cried constantly. I'd probably do anything. I hope she accepted my apology and doesn't think I'm a total ***** now. I have a tendency to suffer a bit of foot-in-mouth disease when I meet new people.
Amanda: I'm glad I'm not the only one with a bub that goes to sleep so early. You're right, it does make the rest of the evening easier, but I wish Jude would dream feed and sleep a bit longer at night.
Still beating myself up about breast feeding and formula, and wondering what I should have done differently. Keep thinking I should tough it out and starve Jude back from bottle to breast, make him stop refusing my breast by offering him nothing else, but I hate to see him miserable and I don't think it helps anyone if he's upset all day long and hungry. I'm so confused and full of doubt, just don't know what to do. I want my baby to love my boobs again and I can't understand why he stopped. :(
-
This afternoon I'm finding patting Maya to sleep helps her settle quickly.. but then she wakes every half hour! :wall: So it feels like a choice of spending half an hour to rock her to sleep and then she'll sleep for a while.. or get her to sleep quickly but then constantly resettle. :wall: Though I think the problem is that she's waking up on her side and she's only ever slept on her back.. but I don't know if there's a way I can get her from her side to her back. :dunno:
belfie - How'd you go last night with X? Maya woke at 1.30am after going to bed at 10pm! Then woke next at 6am. But she stayed awake for an hour and a half at 1.30!
Amanda - Good to hear the mastitis didn't develop. :)
kuraiza - When Maya was a newborn I was often up for ages trying to resettle her, but then she got quicker and quicker at settling. Even to the point that during the night I could put her down awake and she'd go to sleep. So I thought I was making great progress even though I still had to rock her to sleep during the day. (though the day sleep rocking wasn't taking as long as it used to). Now it's like any progress she made is totally out of the window and I'm back to the start again! Taking ages to rock her to sleep during the day and at night. :( Oh and I also have heaps of trouble getting to sleep.. so when I go to bed it takes me an hour normally to fall asleep - sometimes less or more. So two hours awake = 3 hours awake really for me. :(
As for her going to bed late.. I think that routine developed early on and now I don't know how to change it?! Cos it effects all her day sleeps too. So my typical day starting with night time (I don't have any sort of routine really which is probably very bad but I find it hard to keep to any routine the minute I leave the house!):
- M goes to bed for the night between 9pm and 10pm. Then I go to bed around 11pm - midnight. I imagine every else probably also going to bed about an hour or two after bubs.
- M wakes a couple of times but sleeps till around 9am - 10am (sometimes she's up for a little while at wake times, other times a long time and sometimes straight back to sleep so length of sleep varies). But this is probably really the same as those babies going to bed at 7pm and getting up at 6 - 7am.. just pushed out later.
- Then she has a late morning/early afternoon nap and another nap in the late afternoon usually waking from this nap around 6pmish. Hence.. I can't really get her into bed at 6.30pm after waking at 5.30-6pm.
I think my 'routine' is probably similar to everyone's but pushed out later. Which I don't mind in some ways cos I am NOT a morning person and I don't feel tired in the evenings. But it makes it hard to get to any appointments in the morning and sometimes Maya will wake somewhere between 5 and 7 am and not go back to sleep.. which means I have only had a very short amount of sleep. The other problem I see is that she's often up from 6ish till 9-10ish which I know is too long but I find it hard to get her into bed earlier.
When you say that Jude crashes what do you mean by that? Does he just fall asleep? My other problem is that I have never ever been able to see any tired signs from Maya.. so I go by the time she's up for. I try and put her down after 1 1/2 to 2 hours up time. Also Maya wakes at the slightest noise or if I touch her at all. Actually I think if Maya had a choice she'd stay up all day/night long if she could.
Question: What time usually do all your babies wake from their last naps of the day?
Anyway, I should stop there before I ramble on too much more.. Did anyone make it to the end of this post.
-
Tanya: It was strange because Jude used to sleep at the same time as Maya and I also didn't know his tired signs but one day he completely changed everything. He just went to bed early one day and I thought it was a nap but he didn't wake up again until the middle of the night and now that's been his pattern ever since. I have no idea why it changed, but I'm not a morning person either. However, it has been easier to make appointments and get dinner ready.
Jude's tired signs have become clear. He rubs his eyes and yawns and through that I've learned his early tired signs when his arm and leg movements become jerky instead of controlled. Now he has quite good hand-eye coordination so I can visually see when he starts flailing his arms and I know he's tired. The BIG clue for me is: if I can hear ALL his toys getting kicked and punched then I know he's not playing nicely anymore and he must be tired. Does Maya do that? Does she stop focussing on one toy and start hitting them all?
But I don't put him to bed straight away, I usually sit him on my lap and we have a look at a book together or I just talk to him for a few minutes and then I take him to bed. Sometimes he objects but not for too long. However, Jude uses a dummy and that is a very big part of how he falls asleep and I know Maya doesn't like a dummy so unfortunately I'm not sure if I can offer advice for you. Maybe she will suck on your finger or a toy? If there's anything she'll suck on to calm down, I would use that to settle.
Jude's last nap of the day is sometimes just an hour before bedtime, it gets a bit tricky because we want to bath and feed him around 6, but he already wants to be in bed by then, but any earlier is too early for us to work around and my husband would never see him if he was in bed any earlier.
-
Tanya - just a quick response from me. I had trouble with X rolling in his cot then squawking. Go a nice tightly tucked in cot sheet, then she maybe she can't get onto her side?... mightn't be the same, but with X, he draws his legs up, arms up... and over he goes. The sheet stops the limbs going up and he stays on his back. And it doesn't seem to bother him & he definitely sleeps better for it (this after me putting him back on his back about 10 times the first night he realised he could roll.... lol).
Had my aunt & uncle over this arvo - lovely visit but they've currently been evac'ed from their home for a week now due to the fires. Very stressful for them but at least they're safe.
BBL short on time atm.
-
Tanya - Zander wakes anywhere from 5 - 6pm last nap of the day, and his last nap is just that - usually only around 40 mins.
kuraiza - why beating yourself up? Do you feel guilty or as though you havent done the best you could? You have done the best you possibly could, there was a reason you introduced formula - you had tried other options which didn't work - try not to second guess yourself or feel too bad - Jude will be grateful for having a full tummy I am sure. I know you might think easy for me to say - I am still b/f - but i have had hard times with all 3 of mine - and we do the best we can at the time.
I wouldnt agree with any sleep school that says to control cry under 6 months either. Babies need to know you will respond to them - when they hit that magical marker they come into a new awareness and test us a bit more, so in my opinion, a bit of crying then is ok if it is ok with your family.
PP are you saying you might be UTD????!!!!!! Nauseous - freaking out .... will stalk you on FB now LOL
-
lol sami! haha.
Nah i think it may be Ov.... no idea
-
SAMI - I'm wondering how Z went down last night? It took me an hour to get BJ down. What is with that? That's 3 nights in a row. Gosh, I hope he's not going to be one of these babies that fights to go to sleep every night. He has always been such a good sleeper & always goes to sleep with minimum fuss. His days sleeps I just put him in his cot, he cries for a few minutes then goes to sleep. Last night I let him cry for 20mins, & when he started to get a little upset I went & patted him until he fell asleep (only a few minutes) then, 10mins later he woke crying again so I patted him to sleep again, then 10 mins later the same. I had only fed him at 7.20pm but had to feed him to get him to sleep, finally, at 8,30pm. I know this is nothing compared to what some mums have to do but I am worried it's the start of something. I'm gonna try to play around with his afternoon sleeps to see if it helps.
Plus... He woke this morning at 4.20am just gooing & ga ga'ing till 4.55am when he started to whimper. It kept me, & DH, awake the whole time. When I went in both his arms were out of his wrap. That was probably why he didn't go back to sleep. I fed him at 5am then he fell back to sleep again. I went back to bed till 6.20am when he woke up crying so I took him in my bed & we slept till 7.20am. If only he had slept till 5am. I don't believe my day should start before 5am.
TANYA I am like you. It takes me aaagggges to get to sleep & back to sleep after I've been woken. It's crap. When BJ was a newborn I could get back to sleep no worries. I guess I was just so exhausted. But now.... Gosh, it's awful. I need to exercise more, that helps me sleep
KURAIZA I wouldn't of taken offense to what you said to that mum at MG. I let BJ cry, alot. He refuses to take a dummy & won't settle in my arms (as you saw at yoga) so I have no choice. Babies are so different & there is so many ways of settling, that mum would know that. I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sorry to hear you are having a hard time dealing the breast refusal. I know it's upsetting for you. Take heart in knowing you're a great mum who wants the best for her little man.
PP Sorry to see you go! Will definately catch you on FB xxx
AMANDA I hope all is well in the Mastitis front. Gee it's a nasty thing. Did I read somewhere you are talking about number 6? Wow, I think i've mentioned before I take my hat off to anyone with 3 or more. Gosh, I struggle with 1
KATONES Are you going away this week? Thankfully we're not. With DH home I can go & get my hair done & my waxing done & visit friends so I can leave BJ home. But, we have already had a little tiff , & he's only been off since Sunday
CSAB Yep my ewcm is in abundance too. But it was last time too & AF never showed. I'm still hoping it'll stay away. Guess I should be lucky to have gone this far
Hi to everyone, Teru, Hollye, Belfie, Amy & any one I may have missed
-
Georgi - poor fella is fine for a while, then just starts whimpering and cries, cries - i tried to give him paracetomol again - but he wont swallow it and pools it at the back of his throat for ages - I'm talking 15 mins when I am sure he must of swallowed it!! I dont know why i bought panadol (no offence) - i have always bought Dymadon in the past - same base ingredient, but it is thicker and orange flavour and seems kinder to my kids tummies. I only give it to him before night bed - but i think he only got half a dose in anyway - Bonjela - screamed the house down, it does hurt initially but then after a minute he is much happier.
Long story short (LOL) he slept really well - he did cry at about 9pm but I picked him up and cuddled him for a minute and put him back down - he slept until 4.45am and I fed him. But after feed he was crying (which he NEVER does after night feeds) - so put some more bonjela on - and he slept until 7.30. Checked gums today and they are mushy, I reckon one tooth would have erupted by the weekend.
I am going to get some Brauer teething relief today and try that.
Georgi, Zander has never breastfed to sleep which makes me sad cos there is ntohing like them falling asleep when feeding - it is so beautiful and lasts for such a small amount of time. Havign said that, he does close his eyes straight away once wrapped and i pick him up and cuddle him close to my chest ...
I baked 2 batches of anzac cookies - riley's school having a minifete to fundrasie for bushfire victims - 11 - 1pm - - so better go pack - Z due to wake anytime - been down for an hour already.
-
katones - I was the one asking about cloth nappies. And actually someone from MG yesterday gave me some to try. So I am trying them today. :) First time in cloth nappies. Though the first nappy leaked!
belfie - I put Maya on her side - she didn't roll that way. It's part of a patting to sleep routine. But then I don't think she likes sleeping on her side so it doesn't work for me. :wall:
Georgi - I'm still struggling with getting Maya to sleep too! And I'm worrying if it's the start of something and all the progress made is gone?!
Sami - mmmm.. can you send me an anzac cookie. :) I hope Z's teeth come through soon!
kuraiza - It sounds like you did what you had to do re feeding. Could you maybe talk to a lactation consultant about getting him back on the boob if that's what you want to do?
Tired signs - sometimes Maya does rub her eyes or is more jerky and then I do know that she's tired. But seriously sometimes she's just doesn't have any signs until she starts crying.. or sometimes there's not even any crying I just decide she's been up for a while and she prob needs a nap! Maybe there are signs I am missing though. :dunno:
Dummy - I tried everything to get Maya to take a dummy. Then yesterday at MG that woman who showed me the patting settling routine showed me how she got her son to take a dummy - using the patting settling routine and holding a dummy in his mouth. So I tried it last night and she took it!! And settled extremely quickly! She was in bed at 8.30pm!! The earliest she's ever been. And I was so thrilled! And then.... she woke at 9, 9.30, 10, 10.30.. and I think she wakes whenever the dummy falls out! Also I'm not sure if she sleeps properly with a dummy in her mouth.. I think she dozes but doesn't go into a deeper sleep. Arghhhhhhh :wall: Well.. I realised that wasn't going to work all night long.. getting up every half an hour! So then I tried the patting routine.. nope she started screaming. Anyway, at 11.30pm I finally decided to re-feed her and use my good old fashioned rock her to sleep method. And she was in bed by 12.30am! And slept till 5am. Then back to sleep at 5.30 and up at 9am.
I must admit I am soo extremely frustrated and upset about the whole thing! It seems now the patting doesn't work at all. And now I have a choice of very quick settle with dummy but waking constantly. OR rocking to sleep for AGES but she'll stay asleep. I really don't know what to do! What's really getting to me is the fact that she was getting easier and easier to settle and things were getting better. And now I feel like I am back at the beginning. I am so exhausted and feel like things are never going to get better (even though realistically I know they will get better I just don't feel like things are going to get better). Georgi mentioned sleep school and two weeks ago I really didn't think it was necessary cos I thought Maya was improving. Now I wonder if it's something I should really consider.

Grrrr, I had this huge post and lost it, so now just a small one is all I have a chance to do now, sort of all I feel like doing now too. Sorry lovelies.
Georgi - Wanted to mention, I had my DS2 have 4 teeth when he was 3mths. Do you believe BJ is teething, if so have you tried bonjela? If so has it helped him at all? Poor little thing, V has been a bit wingy, not eating all that much and wasnt that fussed on the Bonjela taste. hehehe. She is wanting another cuddle atm. goodluck with AF, hopefully you will get a bit more of a break before the visits start happening again.
Tired signs as well for V are:
She rubs her eyes on my chest, gets really restless. Has a whiney cry.
Tanya - Lots of Hugs....
Sami - Yummm Anzac cookies... mmmmm. I hope Z feels better soon hun, poor little man. hugs
pp - here i go again, I was thinking the same as Sami, sounds like you could be thinking that a bfp is on its way. I know you said you werent sure. GL either way. hugs
Well still have sick kidlets here. then the oldest was sick too. So much for my peaceful dyas with just V. hehehe
-
PP, so sorry to see you go!!!
csab - oh how annoying on the post, gotta hate that  hope your sick kidlets are on the mend sooner than soon.
Tanya - ah duh me... read & replied too quick & hadn't realised what you meant. Re sleep school, well what have you got to lose? To me sounds like it's worth a try..? It's horrible feeling so frustrated and upset, and sometimes just having someone else to brainstorm with, and who is an impartial observer can help you come up with extra strategies, or maybe to work out the best strategy for you guys. Good luck with it, and extra hugs
SamiH - hmm teething eep! Hugs for you too.
I was gonna go down the list... but my brain has literally turned to mush... so hiya :hello: to everyone else, hope you're going well.
I went shopping today , you'll never guess what I bought! What starts with "o" and ends in "veralls"? Tehehehehehehe  ok I'm clearly delirious! Sending all bubbas good sleep vibes! :asleep:
-
Belfie - Sleep vibes didnt work for V last night, she doesnt seem real well. All clogged up in the nose and quite whingey. Just wants me to hold her all the time. Funny everytime lately Dh holds her she looks at me as tho, well come on come and get me. She gives him some smiles and then straight back staring at me again. :) Normally she is so happy to be
staying with him.
Morning everyone else, I hope all your bubbas were well behaved last night and let their mummies sleep. V unfortunately was not her usual self and was awake at 4.00am from her silly little nose.

Jude had his 4-month vaccination yesterday and so he slept for 2.5 hours straight during the day, then up for a good happy play and watched us eat dinner, then in to bed and he slept until about 4am which, ironically following Csab's note just before, was great as far as I'm concerned. Can I immunise him every day?
Last night my husband prepared Japanese BBQ with the most delicious dipping sauces, I was sooooo impressed! He also did a mass cook, preparing all our meals for the entire week. I'm not sure what came over him but WOW!
Question: What happened to the gallery???
-
OM Goodness, i was just about to post but noticed I got a RAK - *off to search the RAK thread* ...
BBL!
-
good Sami...you can then tell me what it is....
-
Well I took Julian to the Drs yesterday and he's got a viral chest infection, nothing they can do so my poor bubba is going to be snotty and chesty until he's better. I put off him getting his needles until he's better, hopefully that will be next week.
Sami yay for getting RAKed, you deserved it.
Cheryl I so know how it is to have the oldest ones sick, sometimes I think they are worse then the littlies.
Belfie yay for getting the overalls for X, make sure you post a pic of him in them.
Hi everyone else.
hugs xoxo
