AF is aunt flo or something like that. i guess its used so its not so straight to the point even thou we all know whats going on...i could be completely wrong LOL
sorry if this sounds stupid, how do u know if u're ovulating if AF hasnt come back? i'd love to know whether i am or not but i have no idea?!
happy vday every1. dont think we're doing much as i have to study & DP still has the car in the garage to do...2 more weeks tills we leave!!
Hmm it will be interesting to see if I am back on the perfect 28-day cycle or if that was just because of the pill. I'm not on the pill now.
I have to admit, I haven't had sex since Jude was born. I've been way too tired, but now that Jude goes to bed at 6.30pm I think it's time. Am I the only one?![]()
KURAIZA I wish you can tell my DH that. We've DTD (done the deed) about 4 times since BJ was born (5.5months ago) & he thinks he's got it bad. AF is quite a silly way to disguise menstration. Like Belfie... I'm just a sheep too
CSAB I never ended up getting AF TWL. Just a thought.. Maybe this is my AF??? Just clear
PP That's great that you haven't had AF for that long. And that you got your BFP while BF. I should be well & truely finished BF by the time we TTC again. We're starting in Jan 2010, BJ will be 1yr 3mth (corrected). I plan to finish BF when he's 1yr (corrected) in Oct. So maybe I won't get AF till I stop BF... That'd be nice
TERU The tell tale sign for me is the EWCM (egg white cervical mucus) but not everyone gets it. You can also take your temperature every morning & see when your temp jumps up, that means you've ovulated. Also your cervix becomes open & high (yes, that means you have to feel 'up there'). If you're really keen, there's a charting programme called fertility friend Fertility Friend OnLine
oh goodness we haven't DTD at all! My episiotomy took so long to heal (well it didn't heal properly) and now of course it's less than 2 weeks since it was repaired.
DH said rather mournfully the other day that we only DTD 4 times last year and it's true! How sad is that! Twice to conceive X. Then once in first trimester which resulted in bleeding & spotting and we were told to avoid DTD, plus he was waaaay too scared after that. Then in second trimester I had a huge scare and we were told bubs wouldn't make it (at 21.5 weeks) - turned out to be a false alarm, was just a vaginal prolapse. Then DH was too scared again (thought my vagina would fall out I'm sure!). Then in third trimester I bullied him into it (lol!) to try bring on labour - but that was only the once too... I think his words were "novelty value!"... and of course since then it's been episiotomy land.
I tried to console him by saying don't worry, we'll do it at least once this year to create #2.... Lucky they don't forget how to do it haha! Poor DH.
Oh and he WAS faking me out yesterday - I got a Valentine's Day pressie this morning, two nice glassessneaky man tehe.
Hollye - Thanks.. I'll have to look for the BLS threads. And find some time to read them too!
Georgi - Maya has also been different lately. Waking more and at odd times and crying more. But I have no idea if it's teething, growth spurt, making up for the period where she didn't eat well, etc...
kuraiza - I didn't know what AF was either. Then Tanstar mentioned a great thread which has abbreviations and what they mean: here Now when I don't know what something means I go look it up there.Good to hear Jude is OK! This morning my DH was holding Maya while she was standing and he must not have been supporting her properly cos she did a head dive and I thought for sure she was gonna end up on the floor but he caught her just in time!
I managed to get up and go to my massage today and I'm glad I did. I'm feeling good now! Though I was very annoyed when she was running half hour late. That's an extra half hour of sleep I could have gotten.
Maya woke a couple of times last night. She seems to sleep so much lighter now too - any little noise disturbs her. I don't know why?!
.
- I've pretty much always had a 26 - 28 day cycle so assume also that my next one will be on time, I am paying for it now though - the PAIN
- observe bodies signs for ovulation - as Georgi said EWCM and temp are the best to observe, start now so you know what is "normal" for you
- can i just say (cos I am crabby) that whoever does BLS and who doesn't - doesnt mean one is better than the other - we just do what we feel is right for our bubs and our families adn I dont want anyone to feel bad with what they are doing etc ...
- DTD about 6 times - first few times are damn awful though and i am quite nervous
so its just to make sure everything still works really
- Anyway, I'm glad as soon as mine returned you all followed suit. Is this the online equivalent of when a group of women live together? Hahahaha
- teeth - i dunno Georgi but i have a cranky boy alot of the day at the moment too and it makes me sad! And then he does a huge poo and smiles for a couple of hours, might try infants friend again (thanks for reminder belfie) he must get one heck of a tummy ache
- we went to a new tea house this arvo when R on a playdate for tea and cake - it was looooooooooovely .... i had vanilla tea - not very adventurous cos Giselle wanted to share with me
- So, Zander has slept for a total of about 1.5 hrs today and is already in bed, scared about the rest of the night!!!
- back tomorrow after a sleep
Tanya - hope you had a better night.
SamiH - ditto for you! And lol re the women all living together.
X decided to feed at 10.30pm, 2.30am and 7.30am... what the?? Dunno where that came from - oh well, guess he just thought he needed more. hoping he'll sleep for aaaaages this morning.
And I finally won something on ebay! Woo hooa bottle & food warmer.
And here's my little munchkin gazing out the window: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...2469&nocache=1
woohoo on the win belfie!
ebay is great for babystuff
Well my contributions for the topics of the hour -
* AF - yep no AF yet , no idea what AF will or was like, Was onthe pill for 8 years and fell pg 2 wks after i stopped it and then 2 weeks after weaning DD - so technically no had a proper ovulation and period since i WAS 17.
* DTD yep it is starting to become enjoyable again. Probably only dtd about 6 times since birth - the last 2 have been normal and good! i guess i remember how much it hurt with DD - and it took me 6 months to be comfy with DTD - so i think 4 months this time (with a 2nd degree tear too) isnt too bad.
Also i hav huge fears of falling pg again as i am not going backon the pill ever again if i can help it!
So that was part of my nervousness when DTD
E is still waking once overnight - anytime between 2-4am for a feed and then both kids wake at 6am to start the day
But gee i love weekends.DH take the kids out the lounge at 630 for me and i get to sleep in for about 2 hrs... bliss!!!!!!!!!!!!
E seems to poo every 6 days. it seems so long. DD always pooed twice a day (still does) lol...
Thinking of work.... With the rates on the house so low atm i would be silly go to go back 1-2 days aweek and try pay the house of quickly while the economy is bad.... but might try waiting until E is 6 months and will wean then off the breast.
mmm well there is my thoughts for this morning. Waiting for E to wake up and take A to the playground to burn some energy.
p.s - tanya - stalk your postie babe - your parcel is on its way![]()
Hello lovelies
well DH just decided to tell me now that he put Z on his tummy today and he rolled straight onto his back - so he has done both now - just waiting for more consistency!
Someone knick-knocked us last night - lucky i had just got up at 1 to dummy Z - and then the doorbell went at 1.30am with giggling girlie sounds running off - the buggers, lucky I was already awake
Z still fed at 4.30am - pretty much the norm at the moment too ...
Making Anzac bikkies - Riley having a mini fete and his class doing the bake staff for funds to raise for the bushfire appeals. That is, if he doesnt eat them all on me first
Bakc later![]()
what is nick knocking? lol..... sorry no idea what that is.
E is rolling both sides now too!
No more change tables, couch or bouncers without strapping!!!!
PP - when someone knocks on your door/rings your bell in the middle of the night and runs away lol
DISCOVERY
Well, Zander just had another runny nappy - I thought hmmm - had a good look at his bottom gum, and yep, there are two definite white lines there, his teeth are just under the surface so wont be long i think until they cut - hopefully that explains the unsettledness of the past week. got the teething gel out now
For mummies who havent seen kids teething - ppl tend to look at the front of the gum - but you have to look more towards the back of the front gum - that is where they cut and then move forward a bit as they grow if that makes sense - you can miss it otherwise, and have to get them to move their tongue lol - i think i did with Riley and thats why i didn't really know until they had cut. Mind you he was 7 months and Zander is only 4.5 ......
yep SamiH Jack has got 2 little white teeth sitting there!!! i wish they would hurry up!!!!
katones - love the avi.
Sami - I might look at Maya's gums when she wakes up next. She is such a different baby lately!
PP - Ohhh.. very exciting.I'll be checking my post regularly.
Last night I got Maya into bed earlier than normal.. 9pm! Well that's early for her. Then she woke at 2am and was up for 2 hours!!!!!!!!!! That was so tough! Finally got her back to sleep at 4am and then she woke at 6am.
Then she went back to sleep around 8am for another 2 hours, so I had a nap then too. I am soooooooooo tired at the moment though. She seems to be easier to put down during the day at the moment rather than night time.
I had a nice afternoon today though. Went to a mother's group picnic and I started talking to one mum about how I want to try cloth nappies and was asking her questions about it and she's getting rid of some of hers so she's offered to give them to me to try. Plus she's going to give me some of the ones she likes to have a go with too.So now I can have a proper go at trying cloth and trying different kinds before I decide whether to buy.

aww gorgeous avi Kat - love the saying too hehehehe... hmm I feel like chocky now!
Well X has been totally out of sorts, screaming at 2.30am... screaming this arvo... then I took him shopping and he was angelic! Go figure huh.
PP - OMG I cannot believe how long it's been since you've had AF, I'm truly envious lol. And woo hoo for E rolling!
SamiH - good info re teething. I'd wondered about X cos he is out of sorts, having MUCH smaller feeds than usual, lots of screaming etc... but I can't see any teeth there.
Tanya - I reckon Maya & Xander were PM'ing each other at 2 in the morning... "shall we wake up mummy? Yeaaaah let's do it, she doesn't really need sleep!"
Katones - nice work on the daddy-break!
Bought a bouncer on ebay today, I'm getting hooked it's soooo exciting!
Hi all.
V day was good, DH and I exchanged cards and we tried to have our romantic dinner, didn't quite go to plan.... but we ended up having a late dinner and dessert.
I've got the beginnings of mastitisin my left boobie, have a big red/hot patch just above the areola, I've been massaging it...so hopefully I won't be having to get antibiotics. I've got a slight temp and a headache, I've never had it before so don't really know the symptoms.
hugs xoxo
Amanda: Take Panadol if you feel any chills coming on because once you start shivering uncontrollably it's really awful, that's what happened to me. If it gets to that, go see a doctor immediately and take the antibiotics. You do not want the infection to get any worse. A girl from my antenatal group had to have her breast drained with bandages inside her breast, and had to go to the hospital to have the bandages drained every day for over a week, so don't delay seeing a doctor is my warning.
Tanya: Does that happen very often that you're up for 2 hours at night trying to resettle Maya? It doesn't sound like you're getting any sleep these days. I don't sleep either, but it's mostly my own fault because I can't go back to sleep after feeding Jude. He usually feeds twice a night.
I'm really curious about these babies going to bed so late at night. Does anyone else have a baby that crashes very early at night like Jude does? He also wakes up early, there's no way I could convince him to sleep in til 8am. Not a chance.
I can't dream feed Jude. Once he crashes he can't be woken until he decides to wake up, and if I try to feed him in his sleep he just lies there like a rag doll and comfort suckles a little bit, but doesn't swallow any milk. I wish he would dream feed and skip a night feed (or 2).
