Thanks for the birthday wishes. What a day! DH's parents flew up from Sydney this morning & I've been crazily cooking all day long... Making muffins & rocky road & not to mention the monkey birthday cake. It's my first novolty cake I've ever made. It turned out awsome. I'm very proud of myself. I did however, eat too many lollies while filling the lollie bags lol.

I'm sure it's gonna be a huge day tomorrow but I'm looking forward to it.

I'll check in over the next couple of days & let you all in on how it went.

Tanya - yeah he saw a neurologist originally, but never an ENT. Maybe we should try that next time... but luckily most attacks are only a weekend or a week at most... and seem to be not TOO often. I hope you feel better soon, I'm sorry it's so difficult atm for you pls don't beat yourself up. M is such a cute spark, and it sounds like she's been such a challenge to BF, which would have really contributed. As my LC said to me... it's not enough for ME to want to BF, it takes both of us to make it work. So maybe your supply had gotten low, but it would have been a heap of things to cause that, and I'm particularly thinking of how difficult she was to feed.... and maybe now the timing will just work out right that you can sort your meds, and she may hopefully gain a bit, and it will all be ok in the end. I don't know what grieving for BF'ing is like... I know about grieving for giving up pumping (which is just plain stupid ), so I hope you can grieve but also feel proud of yourself. You've done wonderfully well.

In regard to Vit D, I've been chronically low in this (think I had a measure of 13 at one stage?)... usually there isn't MAJOR health implications, but it's one of those vits that they're starting to say is important for wellbeing more than was previously thought. It can impact bone density (because there's an interdependency with calcium and Vit D) but unlikely to have done anything major at your age. They tested my bone density (partly cos of my food malabsorption) and mine was fine. They reckon most of the population are way too low in it, cos we all cover up to avoid skin cancer, but then don't get our Vit D from sunshine!!! Apparently we should run around in the nuddy at midday to get our Vit D up! hahaha.
It's also implicated with low mood, depression, anxiety, insulin resistance (important for diabetics) and a few other general "gosh you'll feel better if it's a higher" kinda wellbeing things I think. Sorry that's a bit vague, but that's what i can remember off the top of my head. When I was really low i felt like I had chronic fatigue or something like that... just felt tired & like total crap. So I dunno, you might find you feel better after some supplements? Or you might find no difference. Vit D lecture over now

Ok, gotta go sleep now, I'm stuffed

Georgi - woo hoo, awesome BJ had such a great time, can't wait to hear the wrap-up.

Well just when you thought we had dropped off the face of the earth I am still here!! Life has been mad for about the past month or so but I am hopeful in catching a break sooner rather than later.
After the family encounter with swine flu, I was in cleaning mode, you know the beds etc as you do after a major illness. Anyway I had been out all morning with Miss Bethany and arrived home to find DH home....He had been sacked. Instant dismissal. It was his fault, he made a stupid choice but however that puts us in a whole new frying pan. This was over 3 weeks ago and we are still sorting things with centerlink. Cause of how he was sacked there could have been an 8 week withholding of benefits however we found out yesterday that they are not going to do that. PHEW!!! We are still waiting for everything to finally go thru however cause of how long it took his employer to do the seperation certificate. In the meantime DH has found and enrolled in a cert IV in IT through a gov. provider so it will be free. He should start soon. And then thankfully he will be out of my hair!!!!

Miss Bethany is super crawling and monkeying around furniture. She is a terror but a sweet one that it is hard to pull her up on it!! Still tiny but hey that is her. Must upload some recent pics for you all. As for her labia we saw the OBGYN yesterday and she is going to do the seperation here quickly so it is done. Under a light GA. We have the anesetics(sp?) appointment on monday and then it can be anytime after that. I was so pleased with how it all went. It was a bit of a double boon as well cause I was able to talk to her face to face about getting my tubes done. I realise not everyone here may agree with my decision and thats cool but for me this is what I need to do. I had a HORRID pregnancy that nearly took mine and Bethany's life. I have had to manage all that stress postnatally with my Bipolar. If I were to do it again and have Bethany to take care of it would be a huge strain. Too big. Remember there are no meds asides from one fairly "weak" one that help manage bipolar in pregnancy the rest is up to you. Anyway because of my age I have been getting the stone wall on this topic but I wanted to put forth my arguments and see. Margraet the OB was great (She is one of the head consultants and had a lot to do with the end of my pregnancy since it was so complex so she understood where I was coming from.) Obviously her first words were "At your age no way" but as she listened she agreed that I had given it thought and I knew what I was doing. She agreed to do the proceedure for me.

Ok some brief personals to prove I have been reading!!

Avasmum~~ How did the show go??

Tanya~~ So sorry to read about the meniere's. I know how scary it can be I shared a house with a girl who suffered from it for years. You are doing what is best though sometimes we have to make hard decisions to take care of us so we can take care of our little ones. As for Vit D this is HUGE in mental health. The early morning sun has the highest natural vit D (and lowest UV!!) so try morning walks. You will absorbe this better than suppliments. When I lived down south if I had to go in to hospital the ward I would use had a compulsary morning walk for this reason!!!

Belfie~~ Good news about the allergies. Hope the ENT can see you soon. And do do the speechy. It worked WONDERS for us!!!

Georgi~~ Happy belated Brithday to the big one year old!!!

    Hi Sami, Hi Fluff!!

Well we are off to swimming this morning and then to Andrew's grandparents for lunch and a bit of a chill out. I usually find myself asleep while grandma takes care of Bethany!!!

Take care all and I am going to try and be better about posting, think of it as my new weeks resoulution!!!

Ok so no luck for my gorgeous Ava Lilly today but she looked wonderful in her big girl dress and enjoyed playing with Ruby and her new bubba (4.5mths) friend Harper so in all it was a good day.
Ruby came home with 2 ribbons and Harper got 2nd for cutest baby girl!

We had a good day, very long but we enjoyed it!

Pics on FB if anyone cares to take a look.

Considering my 'backyard' is actually a front yard I don't think I'll be trying that one.

Morning everyone, hope you all had a great weekend.

Am only on quickly so apologise for no personals at the moment but having some troubles with Ava, very sooky, only had 1 bottle all of yesterday (had to give her a dream feed).. well anyway i have a Q in another thread if you can take a look ... http://forums.bellybelly.com.au/foru...sy-dinner.html

I assume it's teething but it's so hard to know.. my normal garbage guts baby has disappeared and been replaced with a sooky fussy little girl.

Here is a quick personals attempt... lol as Ava seems to be behaving playing with my washing

amy_o - welcome back, isn't the crawling and monkeying around just so funny...
Am glad you have found an OB that is willing to help with getting your tubes done, it's your decision and only you know whats best for you and your body... well done!
Good luck to your DH with his course, sounds like things are getting back on track!

*Tanya* - your neighbors might enjoy seeing you run around in the nud...

Belfie - glad you got a bit more info at your appts, bleach baths hey thats an interesting new one.. Ava's eczema isn't that bad so prob wont need to worry yet but it's good to know.

Sorry not much from me.. better get going Ava's exploring the hallway... lol

Yeah but the whole backyard being my frontyard bit means I'll actually be showing off my nud body to anyone and everyone who walks past.

    well.....
I have finally gotten round to popping in really quickly and updating you all

Jack still only has 6 teeth (2 more i can see under the gums so heres hoping NOT too far off!! they are causing havoc!!!)
    says a variety of words....
DADA, MUM MUM, NAN NAN, BA-BARNEY, BIRDS, UP, CAR, YUCK
Sleep has gone down the drain of late...soo we are doing CC...please don't flame me for this..it works for US and it worked for my older 2
Jack is taking steps here there and everywhere!!!! won't be long before he is walking
I am as clucky as ever...and trying to convince DH that another bub would be nice
BUT my meds have been increased (anti-depressants) sooo it might be a while before we start another IVF cycle...(if we do??)
As for me...still working 4 days a week (5hrs a day) DH has been studying like mad (i feel like a single mum!!!) has an exam tomorrow and had one last week....no rest for the wicked!!!! he is straight into another subject started this previous Monday...soo he is afew days behind already!!!

Hello everyone, just popping in quickly to say hi, seems to be quiet in here... hope everyone is well.

fluff-a-holic - sounds like Jack is a very clever little fellow, taking steps and everything is so cute, you will have your hands full there.
Do what you need to do to get your sleep and make sure he gets a good rest, what works for you works for you!
Hope your DH went well for his exam and that should you convince him another is ont he cards that it all goes well.

*Tanya* - it might be liberating and anyone and everyone might just enjoy the show...

AFM - poor Ava is still not herself, last night woke up screaming and she was SWEATING so much there was a patch on her sheets, she wasn't hot to touch, just a little warm and couldn't take her temp as she went straight back off to sleep.
I am hoping that it's her teeth but she wont let me anywhere near to check on them, she has what looks like a bite on her finger and has been there about 3 days but it doesn't seem to hurt to touch and she's not fiddling with it etc.
Will get her checked when i have a DR's appt tomorrow.
D you think it's just teething? on and off her bottles and food, grumpy and sooky, restless over night, pulling at her ears, getting a chest infection just like last time.
Oh it's so hard to tell and now i'm babbling... best be off to do some housework before she wakes...

Gosh I keep meaning to pop in here... time flies hey.

Avasmum - hope Ava is feeling better, poor little sweety.

Fluff - oh wow, Jack walking gosh! Saw some of your recent pics, he's just such a cutie!

*Tanya* - tehehe re your frontyard... and no, I don't fancy doing it either. I just like stirring the pot how are you feeling now? have the meds kicked in? And how's M going?

Amy_o - I hope everything goes well with Bethany's procedure (or maybe it's already done?) either way, you're doing a great job in tough circumstances. As for your side of things, well it's your body hun and you've gotta look after yourself at the end of the day - only you know what is right for you. Re the sppechy, if you don't mind, what did you see her for with Bethany? We're on the waiting list, and I'm trying to be super creative with foods : but he's just refusing all finger food or anything remotely lumpy . But at least he eats the sloppy stuff I guess.

Otherwise, doing alright here. Found out that i'm not allowed to eat the eggs/nut either, oh well. After the first week of new regimes, he is HEAPS less itchy! So that's a woo hoo. He's still crawling around and starting to pull himself to standing more now, but still very wobbly. He's a cheeky little monkey, and starting to suck his thumb even more these days - everytime he goes in the cot, in goes the thumb!

Oh and OMG the thought of TTC the month after next I can make everyone else clucky while i freak out!

Georgi - Looks like BJ's party was fun. The cake looked great.

belfie - Thanks for the info on Vit D. I have gotten a multi-vitamin that has vit D in it so hopefully that'll help. M sucks her thumb every time it's time for bed too. I reckon it's cute. oh wow.. TTC next month. One of the mums from my MG is TTC already. She's 41 so definitely feels like she's gotta get a move on. I'm so glad now that I did have M younger because there's no way I could see myself TTC any time soon with my illness.

amy - I hope the op goes well. So sorry to hear about your DH losing his job. Have you got dates yet for Bethany and your procedures? I'm suddenly wondering if I'll be able to have another bub. I'm probably being very pessimistic though. But I'm still suffering funny things since pregnancy, plus have the menieres. Thanks also for the info on Vit D. I do need to go for more walks. I'm too scared to go out still though.

fluff - Jack is doing so well. Wow so many words and taking steps. M is still just saying 'dada' ALL THE TIME. I can't wait till 'mama' becomes a part of her vocab! As for CC that's what I did too (well my own version after reading books) and I reckon it's the best thing I did. M sleeps so well now! GL with it all. If you need someone to talk to about it feel free to talk to me. I know how hard it is!

Avasmum- How's Ava? Is she still sick?

    hi to everyone else.

As for me.. I've still been feeling unwell. Just dizzy and unsteady. I think my balance gets effected after an attack. I've also had a few short, intense vertigo attacks. Thankfully while in bed during the night. but they are still awful. So far my ear is still blocked. I'm waiting for the meds to do something. I haven't been out much at all. Only to appointments. I keep wondering if I should push myself to go out but I am too scared plus still sick. Please keep your fingers crossed that things will improve soon for me!!

And I've had a more comprehensive blood test because of all the weird things I still experience since pregnancy. I'll get the results this week.

As for Maya.. she pulled herself up to stand for the first time. She's only done it twice though and hasn't done it since. Hmm.. Her tooth is poking through more and more each day. I'm surprised because I thought once a tooth was through a bit it just suddenly popped all the way out. But her tooth is taking forever to come out all the way.

    Hi all,
Just a quick hello. Poor Bethany is getting all 4 of her molars at once. She is not a happy baby. Thankfully all she seems to want to do is sleep which is better that the crying when she is awake!! She did make it to swimming yesterday though and made such an improvement. She is starting to really get the hang of the giant bath like thing!!

No dates as yet...Should hear something about Bethany in the next week or so, I might be a bit longer since most elective surgery is on hold up here cause of the swine flu outbreak.

DH should find out this week when he starts study. We have decided to take advantage of this oppertunity and send him back to study to re qaulify in something he really enjoys, IT. So although things might be tight for a little while I think it will pay off in the long term.

Belfie~~ We saw the speechy for food and eating stuff so same story. Bethany refused to start solids of any kind and really needed them for weight. She was also refusing bottles so you can see the problem!! We have pretty much sorted it all now though. But PM me with any questions if you need to hun.

Well bye for now from us!!

Hey everyone just a quick stop as heading to Mums for her b'day today.

Ava is still sick, slept better last night and i was only up once but every nappy is a #2 and i can't see her urine output due to this, am trying to keep her fluids up but as she only has 2 bottles a day now and sips at water i can't see how she's going all that well.
No more temps since the other night but still VERY sooky and whingy, at times i can't leave the room.
Dr said last week it's a viral infection and should only last about 3-4 days, it started wed and it's now monday!
Am hoping now as she is sleeping a bit better over night it's starting to ease off, just keeping my fingers crossed for her.. it's so upsetting to see her like this!

ONa good note Mark LOVED his painting from Ava for Fathers Day and she seemed fairly well behaved besides her not feeling well yesterday.

Well better go, she's watching the wiggles so i can eat breakfast, gotta get the dishes done and have a shower before we head out... ohhh and also going to see if i canget her carseat turned around today... YAY she's a big girl now, pulling herself up on everything, crawling everywhere and she now says ISH and points to our fishtank! YAY...

    Hey!

The party was a huge hit. We had a wonderful day. BJ had a great time too. He even had cake & chocolate for the first time... And the last for quite a while lol. I was very happy with the cake, but it just wasn't enough to feed everybody. Some people didn't get any.

It was our wedding anniversary on Wednesday & we left BJ with my sister & her 3 kids for the day while we went to wet N wild. We had a great day. We also went out for dinner that night. But... poor BJ is sick now. He's got a bad cough & snotty nose. You've probably heard me mention that my sisters kids are ALWAYS sick, well they've given it to BJ. The first time he's ever been sick. We had to take him to the doctor yesterday cause he's just not getting any better. He's on antibiotics now. Thankfully his cousins returned to Sydney last Thursday.

He is finally starting to do sign language now. He can sign bed, bath and finish. He will also copy you when you say shhhhh.

DH has gone back to work yesterday after his 10 weeks off. I'm back to being a FT mum. Just trying to squeeze work in between. Hopefully I can keep up with you gals now that I'll be home a little more.

Hey everyone, sorry for the selfish posts of late, am here to TRY and attempt some personals before Ava realises i am not paying her any attention... lol

Georgi - i am so glad the party went well, mm cake and chocolate he would have loved that.
Did you make the cake or buy one, sorry am so not with it, you prob have said this already!
We have too many ppl invited for Ava's so am getting one made.
Am so glad you got some time to yourself for your anniversary, it must have been nice!

amy_o - all 4 molars at once... OUCH the poor little thing.
Hope you get dates soon, must be so annoying having to wait, i hate waiting 2 days for a Dr's appt for Ava.

Tanya - YAY M for standing up ... the fun is only just beggining, she will figure it all out now... Ava climbs on EVERYTHING... lol
Hope your feeling better soon, i know there is no guarantee but take every day as it comes and stay positive... we are all here for you!
Ava's teeth move like snails, they cut and then don't seem to show for like 3 days and then move really slowly, her 1st one is only JUST looking like a tooth and thats from over a mth Ago...

Belfie - good luck with TTC.. i'm 22wks and getting fat, am excited but also FREAKING OUT... ahh the joys.. hehe
Am looking at ideas for prams etc.. oh my head is spinning!
YAY for less itching, Ava's eczema has been playing up while she is sick.. poor girl.

I hope i haven't missed anyone, hope all the mums n bubs are well.

AFM well Ava just fell asleep in her highchair eating breakfast which she has NEVER done (pic on FB... sooo funny) i woke her up, chucked her in the lounge with ITNG (dumbest show in history) and ran a bath, giving her til 9:30 then a bath with mummy and bed.
Finally got a nappy last night with no #2's and this morn she hadn't done one either, now she has had breakfast she has though so will investigate that once she's finished grunting!
Am hoping she is on the mend but falling asleep in her chair doesn't bode well with me!
Dr's tomorrow, think even if she is a little better might take her in just in case.. want to know whatever it is is gone!
