I had a bottle of water leak all through my nappy bag the other day
How is everyone? I finished up the christmas shopping thank goodness, no need to go near the shops now except for essentials.
Otherwise another typical tropics day here hot and humid. And one over tried cranky little girl! I thought but going grocery shopping early (8am!) I could avoid the people who know us or know of us through Andrews parents and grandparent....no such luck. She would be just asleep and someone would come up...Ohhhh its Bethany... Took ages to get round those aslies too. Then we had to go to the post office and the line was huge. Oh well all done now.
Just need to finsh the last of the wrapping and get a move on with the chrissy cards. Perhapes while the little possum sleeps today.
I couldn't get on BB at all yesterday! It was very frustrating. But I got the emails so I managed to read up on what you were all up to! A quick me post though cos I don't have time for personals at the moment!
Well.. the last three days have been terrible for me! Maya just won't sleep at all during the day!! So I haven't had much time to myself at all! But I wonder if it's because my mother was staying, whom I was hoping would be a big help, but actually drove me crazy! Every time I put Maya down for a nap during the day and then went off to do something, my mother would get Maya out of bed at the slightest sound from her and unwrap her and start playing with her! So then I would have to take Maya from my mother, re-wrap her and resettle her all over again - like starting again! I kept telling my mother that Maya needed to be resettled for sleep if she was only down for a couple of minutes, but my mother kept getting her up! It was so frustrating! Anyway, my cousin came and picked my mother up last night so it'll be interesting to see how I go today on my own! Cos last week I felt like things were going well and then this week everything has gone bad!
Oh and Maya will start crying when I go to wrap her for bed! I think because she doesn't want to go to sleep?! Does anyone else's bub cry when being swaddled?!? I sometimes wonder whether to stop wrapping her, but I think it does help her to sleep once she's settled in bed.
Anyway, Maya appears to be sleeping.. dunno how long it'll last. I was waiting to see if she'll stay down and now I'm going to attempt to have a shower!
Tanya..YEP Jack does start crying when i wrap him..i just ignore it and wrap him and settle him for sleep..he will usually wake after a little while i resettle and he is right to sleep for abit after this little episode which happens EVERY time...
Tan - Hi hun, how is eveything going? Good too see you in here. hugs
Georgi - It was nice chatting with you the other day too, I look forward to doing it again soon. hugs It is possible to getting AF at 4mths. I am soooo not looking forward to AF coming my way.
Katones - Sydney sider here.
Belfie - I was dredding DTD, yet DH was counting the days down. I held off as long as I could. It did hurt, which surprised me as well considering the c/s, but then I think it had something to do with the leak (drain) bag that I had attached as well as the cathertar.
Well I mentioned to Georgie the other day how Olivia poos in just about every nappy, then Tuesday she didnt do any at all, right up until last night. Well it was huge, and then she made up for it again this mornng. I actually didnt think it was going to end it was that much. hehehe. Ohh and what a happy little one she was after all of that.
Anyway have a heap of bookwork to do, while I can as just dont have time to do much of anything lately. Will catch up when I can. I hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy all that chrissy shopping. hugs I still have heaps to do. BTW Love all the pics ladies.
ive given up on wrappin dragon up cos he likes to wave his arms like a madmann hav a cry when i try put them away. now i just tuck the wrap under him esp cos he sleeps on his tummy...
teruteru..do you use a monitor with Dragon sleeping on his tummy?? PP (who is having a break from bb) uses a monitor because Ethan is a tummy sleeper...Jack did sleep on his tummy when he was in the NICU/SCN and slept well..but since coming home we have been co-sleeping.
not really cos dragon sleeps in our bed atm. he sleep MUCH better on his stomach cos he doesnt get shocks & wakes up/cry.
funny enough, i think ethan was born same day as dragon :P
Jack is a side sleeper.... and during the day sleeps in his boucer not his lovely cot during the night he is in our bed...and sleeps great!!! from 10ish til 6ish
Hello lovely ladies!
I'm crashing in here too - I just wish they would merge these threads, it is such a PITA.
ANyhoo enough biatching from me!
Teruteru - I have 2 kids, 17 mths apart! So far it has been great! Izzy just loves James so much and isn't old enough to have too many jealousy issues. Im sure that will come later. It takes a bit of organising to get out and about but I think that would be the case no matter what the age difference is. I really love the fact that my kids will be nice and close in age as they grow up! I stopped wrappng Izzy at 8 weeks but she went into a sleeping bag and slept on her back.
Csab - Thanks hun! I miss you guys! Sounds like Olivia is going great hun - so good to hear! I know what you mean about the poo. James didn't do one all day yesterday and then when he finally did it, it was HUGE. How does such a small baby make so much poo?
Tanya - It is so frustrating isn't it. James wasn't sleeping all that well during the day and then I realised he likes to a final grizzle/cry before falling asleep. I was picking him up and rocking etc but he actually was self-settling and I didn't realise it. I hope you have a better day today. BB was down all day yesterday - I got heaps done!
Amy - Wanna do my shopping for me?? I have bought a few things for Izzy and James, and my niece and that's it! Ugh Im going tomorrow again but I doubt I will get it all done. Thank goodness there are 2 weeks to go.
Belfie - Im glad your MG went well. I love my girls on a Monday. We have been lucky that we all get along and there is no real *****iness! They have loved having new bubs there too seeing as 2 of us have had our seconds! As far as poo goes, some days James' poo STINKS and he is fully B'fed. Must be something I eat at times but I can't pinpoint exactly what it is that does it! Ah the joys!
BIg hello to all I have missed - this thread moves so fast I can't keep up!
I just dragged a box of Christmas decos up from under the house! We aren't putting our tree up this year because Izzy will just demolish so Im going to get creative with lights and balls in vases instead! Better go get sorted! FOrgot to add, James sleeps in a hammock but he fell asleep in the cot watching the mobile go around while I was in the shower before so i put him in just now for another nap and he has fallen asleep! Yay! A bit earlier than I was thinking but I figure if he gets used to day naps in there then the transition for night sleeps when we are ready to move him out of the hammock wont be such a big thing!
Well I finally got Bethany down for a sleep...and now this thread has moved on!!
csab~~ I had a drain bag too...gee as if I wasn't dreading DTD again as it was!! LOL Can't hold out forever I suppose....I am worried a bit though between the drain bag the c section scar and the un known utirne damage and who knows how my poor cervix is after all those hours of pushing on it closed, I tell you I want NOTHING near that part of me!!! Got a pap smear coming up too...gee aint life grand!!
Tanya~~ Sorry your mum's visit didn't help as much as you hoped there is always someone to pick up the sleeping baby!! Bethany stopped being wrapped a few weeks back, I got her a light sleeping bag from K Mart, that way I don't feel like she is all exposed in the air con and she can been the wiggle worm that she is.
Tan~~ Thank you for the kind offer of doing your shopping but I will have to decline!! I am still recovering from my own. I was so buggered last night.
Oh I got more blood work back yesterday, My hemaglobin (really bad spelling) still hasn't improved....no wonder I feel like crap at the end of the day. Man I am bringing new meaning to anemic. I see the GP in a week for my pap smear anyway so I going to ask what we are going to do about this, I am taking the suppliments. Even eating steak which is so not my favourite food. Lots of veggies too. I need some energy damn it!! I don't expect much I realise I have a new baby but more than what I have would be great or could we just ditch the headaches and dizzy spells.
Went to mums and bubs movies yesterday with a couple of mums from MG, it was really cool. We saw 4 Holidays. Very funny.
I've heard a few people talk about a drain bag for c/s but I didn't have one with Izzy or James?? What actually is it?? I just had stitches, then a clear dressing over it. I then had the catheter and IV drip and that's it.
