OK Maya slept for an hour before so I managed to have a shower. I've now put her down for a second nap today, so will use the time to respond to personals!

Tanstar - Thanks for the info on what AF stands for! I knew it meant period but just couldn't make words with A and F that meant period! Now that you've said Aunt Flo I'm thinking that's really obvious! I think I have to search for that abbreviations thread you mentioned!

Georgi - I am finding that Maya has been coming off the breast less since I started reclining while feeding. Though I wish I had a recliner. I am trying to use pillows on the couch but it's not very good for my back! Anyway, she seems to be eating more I think.. and she seems to vomit more now! Which I think is a sign that she's getting more food in her belly.. I guess maybe too much food though?! Her weight gains have always just been OK, so I'm hoping with the new feeding routine she can have some good weight gains!

kuraiza - I hope Jude is still being an angel for you! Sounds like you had a great day out!

belfie - Maya's poos smell more suddenly too. But I thought the smell might be from the vaccinations?! Oh and thanks for the settling tips from the settling course you did. I'm trying to use them lately. I just had to go in and rock her in her bassinet! It took a while but she eventually calmed and closed her eyes.

    amy
    - Love your avi! As for Xmas shopping I've been doing some of mine online! Saves me from having to go out and they wrap the pressies and send them direct!

katones - It's nice to know other bubs hate being wrapped too! Yep I have to resettle after wrapping and then resettle again after putting Maya down for a sleep!

    Hello to everyone I've missed!

Well so far today Maya slept till 9am (after waking once in the night), then had an hours nap at 11am and I put her down for another nap at 2pm and I'm hoping she stays asleep for at least an hour. For both naps I've had to resettle very soon after putting her down. But so far she has had more sleep today than she did the previous three days! I really think it was cos my mother kept getting her up and then I would struggle even more to put her back to sleep. Cos settling her when she's already wrapped and ready for bed is easier than starting from scratch each time! It's disappointing though cos I thought my mother would be a big help but found her to be a PITA instead!

Arghh.. I was posting this and the thread disappeared! But I found the new one!

No personals from me cos I have no idea how you ladies managed to do more than 30 or something posts this morning alone

It is so weird that we are up to #3 thread, when for our preg belly buddies we struggled to get to #3! Obviously we have a lot more to say and know each other a lot better.

I know some of you are having hard times with your bubs so what I am about to say is in no way bragging - well just bit.

GAWD I just lurve my little fella - he is so placid - but I truly believe that is also something to do with the environment - I don't have time to stress too much about him IYKWIM??? He has a bad feed, oh well, time to do school run - he is getting tired, wrap him cuddle for a minute then in the cot cos someone needs some food -etc.

I just went to a work Christmas lunch - got to the office at 11.30 - Zander had fallen asleep on walk from car to office. He woke as we were walking to restaurant - and just happily looked around etc. At restaurant he was cuddled by about 5 different people and lots of others coo-cooing in his face - he showed off and smiled heaps. He got tired after all that, I put my sling on, and he just drifted off to sleep for an hour. Then it was time to go home - of course everyone commented how good he was - and he really was super good LOL. I have just fed him and wrapped him and he is down for another nap. It is good to have sanity saver days like this

Plus, I put make-up on - shock horror - felt really good with my new hair-cut - so I think that all shows and he gets those good vibes too.

But, DH gone away again tonight so fingers crossed a good night as well.

I could go back for another one if I could get a guarantee - nah, our family is complete and I am OK with that.

Hollye I think you may have forgotten Snoopea as well.

Not much going on here, was very hot today so Julian didn't sleep very much, but has been feeding heaps. The two older boys finished school today, so got them home for 6 weeks I think, I'll have to organise to do something. I'm going to get Julian's needles on Tuesday as well as Wyatt's 4 yr needles and my 6 week check up, oh the joy.

Finally got around to DTD after 8 weeks, wasn't bad I suppose, first one after a bub isn't always the best but hey.

Ok off to do some house work while Julian has a nap.

    hugs xoxo

LMAO, Hollye, you have SO earned the money you don't get paid for keeping that list up to date! It's a wonderful job that you do Can I change X's name now...? Nah just kidding

Tanya - I'm glad the settling tips are good. I find they work some days and not so much on others... but i didn't wanna sound know-it-all-y (cos i am so NOT knowing what i'm doing!), but glad it's handy.

SamiH - aaw that sounds like an awesome trip hun and I think it's fab he's such a great baby. I think they bought each other luck, because honestly X is the same. I don't tend to say too much cos I don't want u guys to think I'm bragging either... but I think I'm so lucky (makes up for the sh*t PG haha). And it was nice to read what a nice time you're having with him too ... you SURE you don't want another??? I know i do.. once I get up the guts to DTD again! (Tanstar, she's my inspiration for having two young'uns!)

I had my MIL come & visit today - bit nervous cos she can be a PITA but realised I need to work at this relationship, so tried really hard to communicate clearly & positively if she said something I didn't like, but to enjoy her company... and she was GREAT! I asked her if she'd come grocery shopping with me, so she could push the stroller while I pushed the trolley - and it went really well. Plus she arrived in the second half of our feed and X put all the charm on with smiles & gurgles, she was so happy it was great. Plus I talked with DH about things I can say when she says stuff that annoys me (not said maliciously, but sometimes thoughtless or semi-jokes)... so I've got some prepared responses.
    • "Didn't have that in MY day" - "well it's lucky we have it in my day cos it's really useful".
    • "That baby has everything" - "yup, takes after his grandparents ".
    • "what a bad mummy she is (said to X)" - "well why are you saying that?/that doesn't make me feel very good" - and she followed up with "no, really you're the best mummy in the world" (why couldn't she just say that first???), and so I smiled at her and said "well you're hte best granny in the world". I think the check-out chick nearly vomited haha! But it was all good.

Ok I'm off to powerwalk around the block with an unhappy boy & a crazy dog! Hey taht's neat - 2 months 2 weeks 2 days old!

belfie - I don't think any settling technique will work all the time. Today rocking and patting her on the chest worked all day, except now it's not working at all!

I uploaded more smiling pics of Maya - one here and another here.
