Katones - step away from the puter and go for a walk hun I'm not having a good day sleep-wise with Zander today either - it's really frustrating isn't it - you feel like you spend the day just getting them to sleep and wonder why you are so buggered at the end of the day!
We have the school Christmas Fair on late arvo/early evening so am praying it doesn't rain - my DS1 is soooo excited. Just a bit of a PITA cos I have to pick him up at 3.10 - home and get changed out of uniform, then back to the school again around 4pm Lucky it is only 5 minutes drive away.
In the meantime, still trying to settle Zander after his 30 minute cat nap ... grrrr
i agree with samiH get out and get some fresh air! it makes a world of difference.
I took ashley to a play group this morning - she is very clingy and shy around other children and i am trying to get her used to it. Ethan cryed from 630am - 1200pm when i have finally got him to sleep (usual morning for us).
i went back to a friends house who has a 5 month old and her mother was there too. Ashley was maing a mess with her lunch throwing it everywhere in play. Ethan was screaming as usual, and i am juggling the 2,t hen tyring to bf ethan while ashley is trying to climb their 15 stairs. I think Her mum was a little overwhelmed at the chaos.
I think realised perhaps i shouldnt leave the house as it can be daunting and i probably look like a non-responsive mother to ashley ( i ensure she isnt doing anything naughty but if i am settling ethan and she is doing something that isnt going to harm her self or damage something ... ie picking up books of a shelve and putting them o nthe ground - i let her and i can clean them up in 20 mintues when i am finished with DS). but to the person who 's house it is it must look terribly chaotic! and so perhaps wer should stick to going to the park or something in stead.
Hollye- i hope the mail arrives and whoot on your good day!
Well the storms are said to return again to night. to will buckle down to see if there is any other damage.
Can we just forward the day to tomorrow please??? It sure is a shi**y one here
My DD is being so demanding when I am feeding - attention seeking I know, probably seems like all I do at the moment is feed, try to get him to sleep, run to the toilet, run to the clothesline, maybe sneak a few minutes on BB get her some lunch and start all over again ....
Nearly school pick up time and still have to try and get Z to have a small feed before we go and get DD's shoes on and maybe go to the toilet myself !!
Itsme - When mine started making out they were choking on the dummy, I took it as a sign that they didnt want it. So never gave it to them again. Thankyou about Olivia, thankfully she did put on some weight. Woohoo. How is Maya? Hugs
Georgi - So glad Byron is doing OK, I put OlivIa in the rocker alot, yet alot of the time she just wants me to hold her. Today in the morning she was chucking a tanty while in her rocker as soon as I picked her up she turned her head to the TV and watched the cartoons, then Puzzle Play, hehehe. Wasnt even interested in the Boobie.
Well hope everyone is doing well, it has been so hard getting on here lately, so busy!!!! Everytime I come on here she starts, and has been awake more often thru the day as well. So not much me time. hehehe. I dont mind tho, she is such a cutie. Well for the good news, my little Olivia has finally hit her birth weight of 2380gms. Woohoo, cant believe it took 5 1/2weeks for her to do it, but she did it. I was so worried she was going to lose weight this week after the bottle episode, throwing it all up. Her rash is still there but have cream to put on her 3times a day, so hopefully it will get better in the next few days. Anyway Olivia is crying again, so better go off and see what she wants. hugs all.
Well we are in a bind again, same thing happened when he was about 3 wks old ...
I swear he has only had 4x 30 minute naps today - not much at all. So, vicious circle of being over tired (somehow, not through lack of trying!), and then when he decides to have a go at a feed, being too tired to feed properly, falling asleep just after the let-down, waking as soon as I move, and then another 3 hours goes past and I wonder how on earth he is surviving on that piddly little amount from the last feed.
We went out to DS1 school fair, he slept in pram for 10 minutes and then just looked around with big red eyes - still cracking an occasional smile little bugger. He fed very poorly at 6.20, stopped sucking after about 3 minutes and fell asleep, so I put him into his cot at 6.40 - and he is still groaning and moaning but unless he has a hissy, I AM NOT getting him up, he needs some sleep in an effort to feed properly.
He will not take a bottle when tired so can't even entertain idea of a first time comp feed or something ... obviously he is not hungry though ... oh heck I just don't know - see, and this is my third!!
Hate days like this when nothing gets done, I feel like I have neglected my little girl, and am now a cranky mother and wife at this time of night ...
Itsme - well you have tried and done what you can to get her to take a dummy, unless you try a different shape like PP just posted ...
I'm laughing about getting out of the house by 8am - I remember my first mothers group time was 9.30am with DS1 and I thought what a bad time that was and how on earth are we supposed to be organised and actually get there by that time!! Now I can get DS1 dropped off at before school care and DD to child care and home again by 8am on those lovely 2 days of just Zander and I - but of course without a shower
FWIW - all my family are in Melbourne/Ballarat too.
Hollye - My friends and family live in Melbourne, as well as me, but we live on totally opposite ends of Melbourne so it's a two hour drive to see any of them. I do have new friends where I live now, but none of them have kids. All my friends with kids live two hours away! And where I'm living we can't have people stay with us cos there's no room! So I want to move closer to help and people to visit during week days! When are you moving?
PP - Ohh.. maybe I should try a different type of dummy too!
csab - That's great news that Olivia has reached her birth weight! I keep being curious how much Maya weighs now, but her next weigh isn't until she is 8 weeks.
Well.. I finally got dressed at 4pm, did a feed and went for an hour long walk. I grabbed my ipod and cranked up the music. It was very soul soothing! And now DH is home I passed off Maya to him and had a lovely shower. OK.. now to sort out something for dinner.
areyou sure it is thrush and not milk residue? if it is just the tongue and not the rest of her mouth i would say that is what it is.
Try a little h20 after a feed to wash away.
Otherwise make sure you are cleaning bottles teats and your nipples well with warm soapy water as this is where the thrush will thrive. And get some nilstat from you dr to clear it up.
nope.. it is thrush. she has white lumps on the inside of her mouth too like at the sides and i tried scraping the residue off with a damp face washer and i gave her water and nothing changed
i sterilzed allllll the bottles and my expresser today.
