As for us, we're going well, Izzy seems to be settling a bit more at night have had two inghts of 6 and 5 hour stretches which is nice.
MCHN said she isnt smiling yet because her corrective age is only 5 weeks, so hopefully in the next few weeks the smiles start.
Still breastfeeding really well, no issues there.
DD1 is still going really well with TT, still in a nappy over night, but we'll get her there.
GTG hunting down a golden retriever. DF promised we could get one when we moved into our own house. we had to give my baby up because she absolutely destroying the rental we were in!

Oh my darling Ery - what a knob to just dismiss breastfeeding as unimportant because he *thinks* it's a milk protein allergy! Paeds really need to have a huge component of their training be on lactation because they undermine so many breastfeeding relationships merely by having no clue. It's not like she's on solids and it's just a matter of switching foods around to test his theories - I'm so sorry you've had the weekend you've had Please call the ABA 1800 mum-2-mum line and have a chat with them when you're having a hard time - 24 hrs and they hear the broad spectrum of BFing issues.
Just dropping in now cos DP came home early and I had a chance to eat my lunch in front of the laptop before other duties call me away again!
Tallarah has been running a slightly higher temp today, which accounts for lots. She's still quite peaceful for a sick girl - DS can't manage quietness when he's sick! She sounds positively awful in her breathing. Those suction thingies can only suck out so much snot
Anyhow, second week back at work for DP and given we've all had the lurgy, I'm still sane (my own opinion ) and have been painting a fairy for my niece's birthday present (birthday tomorrow, she lives in NZ...another belated pressie!!).
Better get something to drink while I have a moment...

Maya-yep DD1 has got the lurgy too but to top it off she it also teething her molars and fangs on all sides, so yesterday was absolutley hell You sound so relaxed in ur pose i dont know how u do it lol

dd2 is still having troubles keeping her milk down, projectile vomit is a glorious thing the maternal nurse said to try and nap in the afternoon as it might increase my supply or something, i laughed at that cause dd1 only has 1 nap and thats normally late morning. So i think we might have to take dd1 off the boob and space out the feed and see how that works. We have a bit of an attachment problem too so i think she is taking in more air than usual, which probably doesnt help. so i might ring the m2m hotline and see wat can be done.
How are you guys putting the babies to sleep during the day? Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated as yesterday was a day where dd2 slept for maybe an hr the whole day and didnt want to be put down.

no puppy yet, the ones im looking at arent available till decmber. i love goldies, excellent big dog to have with little kids. Charlotte would do all thing unimaginable to hollie and she never flinched.
Cam, wat kind of nappies were u looking at? iv got stacks but cant tell u wat works and what doesnt for us yet because Izzy doesnt fit into them yet! we went mostly with one size fits most
Mzy - getting there! T is breathing better now (thank you, heat!!) and not as velcro-y and my throat is no longer lumpy Thanks for asking! With T, I wear her in a shoulder sling (easier to get in and out without waking) to sleep, then put her down onto her lambskin. She's a much sleepier baby than DS was. She's been asleep now for over an hour. DD also seems to be a bit of an air sucker. Today and last night I'm having some nipple pain but I don't tend to think it's DD, I think it's DS who's feeding habits are creating a new sensitivity - he's been resting his top teeth on my areola at the base of the nipple and even though I pull him off as soon as he starts doing it it's been getting worse on my nipple. He really needs to concentrate on how he's attaching (and he can do it, he just needs to focus) or I'll have to wean him Anyhow, DD has started to get a bit chucky, and I'm hoping like hell that it's because of all the snot in her belly and that it's temporary!
Cam - I've used Peapods (which I found great when DS was bigger, I've only ever used the Mediums on him, and I have one Small for DD that is a bit big around the leg and leaks when she sleeps on her side), which can take a while to dry with the bamboo inserts. Nothing an overnight stint in front of the wood heater in winter can't fix. I had one Bumgenius with DS and didn't like it with him after a while because the lining didn't wick moisture from his skin as well as the fleece of the Peapods, so he'd get a red welt around his waist and I stopped using it overnight (which was why I got it in the first place, when he was down to one night nappy). However, now that DD is being whipped out of wet nappies as soon as she's done a wee (part of the EC caper I'm doing with her, and I'm using flannel flats) I'm finding Bumgenius good when I DO use them - which is really only when we're out, because the flannel flat fold is not recommended for car travel. BUT...BUT...I have found a lovely new nappy that is very much like Bumgenius, except it's an Australian company (recently had to move production to China to keep costs down, but is all ethically produced), it's about $3 cheaper per nappy, has bamboo instead of microfibre (I find bamboo better for lingering smells...as in, less of them!) AND...AND...comes in fantastic colour patterns!! It's called MiniLaLa and has a website you can google. My local nappy supplier has them in stock but not many retailers have them - they are predominantly online. It's a one size affair, so there's no messing around buying more when the child gets bigger (Peapod is about $20, MiniLaLa is $35). I will get a few more because even though I'm EC'ing as much as I can, later on the cover can be used without the insert as a panty that can be whipped off quickly And, as I said, I use them for car travel and I do heaps of that (unfortunately, for my carbon footprint!).
Right, nearly finished paperwork - sent off birth reg this week, have nearly finished the form for family assistance and medicare (the one for Baby Bonus), and nearly done with the Health Care Card one (that I've been eligible for for most of the year and have a major aversion to filling out forms!!). So, Tallarah will be official soon.
Also, been busy cos we're making moves here - house will be on the market in a few weeks and I have to source boxes to pack the visual peripherals and wash the walls of DS's 'artwork'...
Gonna rest now, while DS is watching the Muppets movie and DD is asleep...in the Spanish dub (don't think he's even noticed that I selected Sp at the start of the DVD!).

Cam- we've had Liv in Bumgenius for just over a week now and I LOVE them...absolutely recommend them.
I shopped around and got overwhelmed with choice!! In the end, we went to the Babies and Kids expo and spoke to the rep and chose BGs because they are a one-size system and that just seemed to be the easiest for us (and DH was sold at 'Expo Special' price )
I'll prob end up getting a few diff brands too now, just to compare...Good Luck researching...
