Chepie when will you have to have surgery? Hoe is Mr A doing? I think our ds's are at a such a fun and at the same time frustrating age lol. My dd thinks he ace though.

Maya how is the baby swim going? Wow at the commando crawling, T is a clever little thing. I am pretty much the same as you with solids, dont do farex and will wait for developmental cues that she is ready. I am in no hurry its just another thing that I will have to do each day lol.
I have been lucky enough to have spent this past weekend with Skybie, Nina21 and Jen, we had such an awesome time and got lots of photos of our girls together.

Chepie - was great to read from you Yep, I second Oz, DS is so great, yet so trying. It's so hard to stay on top of his needs and tend to a littler one, too - it's when I really lament the loss of the 'village' because at this stage we'd be able to send our older ones out to play with and learn from older children and mix with other kids their age...and they'd be out of our hair so we could be with our babies! There's lots of frustration ensuing when I can't drop everything for DS
T is going great, as usual. Yep, she has started the BabySwim classes, but the first class was a bit boring considering what I've already been practicing outside of class! Plus, class time is really not working - it's during her cluster feeding time and can't feed for an hour before lessons (they're much more likely to poo otherwise, though T wouldn't cos we've got a different toileting pattern where she'll have done her poo on the chamberpot after some cueing), so she was really quite upset by the time the lesson was over. May have to look into another time if this week is the same. She's enjoying the water, anyway - may end up like her "I like to float face down, Mr/Ms Lifeguard" brother...
Been very busy here with packing up the house (well, DP has been...bit hard with one or the other child hanging off you!) and preparing for the next phase of life. This week is me running around finding out what banks will lend etc while maintaining normal activities for DS! Before we know it we'll be moving to MiL's and organising our shed cum temporary housing. Life could be worse than having one of the highest hills in the Korumburra area with clear views to the Prom! Oh, and I reckon DS reckons life could be worse than having a tourist railway as a boundary fence...
T is really getting that caterpillar thing happening, so she's moving all over the bed when she's not quite asleep and being fidgety. Right now she's completely starkers, and has been all sticky night - this EC is paying dividends already! I wish I could call her clever, but really it's just lucky genetic pre-programming throw-back - nice to share it in DP's gene pool, though
I haven't booked T in for her shots yet, must really get onto that. Her growth has slowed down, so now she's not overtaking DS anymore, thank goodness! She's actually sleeping in our hanging hammock now - I realised that DP had tied the 'back up' string so that the spring didn't have enough bounce. Now that it can spring the whole length she goes to sleep in there, and doesn't already have to be asleep! DS was never able to just drop off to sleep (aside from teh car) so this is quite novel for me to have a baby who'll just nod off without help!! I just got used to DS needing help to go to sleep and I didn't mind it because it was all I knew. I'm so glad he was first - LJ, when you have your second you will be glad you had the challenging baby first!
Better go and get some things done (like showering) before T wakes up again.
hi all, back from qld, had an absolute ball! oz, skye and nina are such wonderful ppl, and all the bubs are simply stunning, not to mention the older children being awesome and gorgeous. glad to be home, yet missing that holiday feel already.
maya - i think you do what works for you, solids, no solids whatever works, its just about figuring out what makes your bub happy i think. not to mention what makes mummy happy too lol. good luck on the move. sounds like busy tiimes ahead for you.
solids have made a huge difference to jades reflux, im glad i started her. shes switched to raffertys, taking some getting used to the different texture, but shes as happy as ever to eat. i only offer solids after she has had enough milk, and is refusing anymore (which is almost always a monster feed) and shes not shown signs of preferring the solids yet.
ery, how is ella have you started her on solids yet? has it made a difference. hope the losec helps.

Oh, for sure, Jen, re: solids. I get mad when there is misleading 'advice' about iron intake, though, when MCHN's are wanting babies on solids. There are other things you can say to a mummy rather than unnecessarily worry them about supposed lack of iron in BM! If more people knew that the iron in Farex type things doesn't actually get absorbed and only looks good on paper, they wouldn't start solids till later, and it's only because the MCHN hasn't been updated iron absoroption since the 'olden days'. If you've got other reasons then they are other reasons, but the iron one is a furphy. I hope DD goes as long as DS did without wanting solids...one less person to clean up after There is also a lot of misunderstanding about the developmental side of solids introduction that I won't go into here, as it's been said before in related threads.
Better put a tired DS to bed now that DD is asleep...

Oz and Jen - The losec appears to be working now so she is much happier, is sleeping well during the day and night (well, most of the time ) and is actually feeding well without screaming!
I havent started the solids yet but will be doing so in the next few days. The paed told me to start her aswell for the reflux and as shes still getting the reflux and screaming for the last feed of the day /night I will probably give it to her for dinner!
May - I understand alot about the developmental side of giving solids as am an Early Childhood Teacher so studied child development and was going to wait until at least 6 months for the food but if it helps her reflux then I am all for it!!! Just hate seeing the little one in pain! The baby swin classes sound great! Ella is loving the bth so will have to get her some lessons - she had her first day at the beach a few weeks ago and splashed in the water!
Heavenly - wow 0000's what a big girl! hehehe Ella is still in 000's but won't be for much longer!
Chepie - ahhh sounds painful! Ella has been in crawler nappies for while now - more protection for the explosions that somehow make it all the way up her back..

Jen- Hi hun, Im ok thanks for asking . OOO Jade's on solids too, so exciting! We are really getting excited and cant wait to get to that stage! Great to see you had a nice holiday, it always nice to come home but how great is it to see a different scene when you get up of a morning...even just for a little while??
Maya- your new 'home' sounds like it is going to be just gorgeous, I think there are plenty worse places you could be waking up each day . Great to see T is having swimming classes, I used to be a learnt to swim instructor and absolutely loved teaching the baby class- unfortunately not enough mums think its a good idea around here to start them young.....Not sure of the logic, maybe kids need to be at least 3 to drown or something?!?!
Heavenly- Wow, Serenity sounds like she is growing so well! We went up a nappy size to crawlers but had to go back down to infant ones as DD kept weeing out the legs! They were just too big on her . Just starting to outgrow 0000s here and starting to go into 000s, not sure what is going on there because DD doesnt seem to outgrown anything despite gaining weight and getting longer, maybe they keep stretching?!?
Chepie- You sound like you have your hands full and a buggered knee to boot, I bet that aint much of a help! Hope you get it all fixed up soon- good luck!
Skybie- I'm in agreeance with you about the swine flu vaccine, I am sure I will have a fight on my hands with the narrow minded Drs here BUT I dealt with them with my pregnancy/ birth choices and Ill deal with them again- bring it on I say! Sometimes I wonder if they bury theyre head in their hands and say 'why bother' with me sometimes.

I'm still here as well, but finding time to post is getting harder when you have a baby that is now more awake during the day.
So good to here everyone is doing well.
AFU: Tara had her 4mth immunisations yesterday and didn't scream at all, she was very brave and even smiled for the nurse after it was all done. We are now also onto solids, I started about 1 1/2 weeks ago and she really knows what it's all about as soon as she sees the spoon her mouth is open waiting.
She has also started to do back to tummy rolls, she hasn't learnt the other way around yet but I'm sure it won't take long once she realises it is the only way to get onto her back again. She also had her weigh in last week and is now 6.5kgs and is 62 cm long, which makes sense why I've now had to start putting her in size 0 all in one suits. How fast do they grow and now she is on solid food as well I'm thinking she will be a chunky monkey before to long.
