Hi girls,

Has been a loooong time since I posted here. I occasionally pop in here to check how things are going with you all. It's lovely to hear how your babies are growing and progressing.

I'm still on the merry-go-round of life with a prem baby - which means we're out at least four days each week carting Fergus to all the various specialists/allied health services people. Then we have one full day each week with Tresillian as they are trying to help us with his feeding.

Gussy is now 16wks old corrected age (and 27wks actual age) and finally seeming more settled. It appears that he has been suffering an intolerance/allergy to components of my breast milk. Under the guidance of a paediatric dietician I am now four weeks into an elimination diet to "purify" my milk from allergens. It has made a MASSIVE difference to Fergus. I can't eat wheat products, dairy products, eggs, seafood, soy products, nuts, caffeine, or any sort of artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives. It's a tough diet, but much easier to do given that it's for Fergus, rather than myself! Apparently the intolerance has been caused by his digestive system having to start work 11 weeks to soon. The paeds expect him to outgrow it in time.

Unfortunately he still hasn't got the hang of breastfeeding so I've now been expressing milk 7 times a day for 6 months and then bottle feeding it to him. Crazy isn't it!?!! My current goal is to get him to 6 months corrected age (mid April) on breast milk and then I'll rethink things. He now weighs 4.3kg which is pretty light even for his corrected age! te he. He still fits into 000 clothes. I keep reminding myself that he now weighs more than four times his birth weight - so that can't be to bad. He's really come a very long way in a relatively short time!

Hope you all stay well and that your babies are kind to you. Will try to post more often as I miss you guys!
