Tegan – IKWYM about the climbing! We have had to be really strict about Charlie and his climbing… he knows he’s allowed to get onto the couch, and into his highchair, but that he’s not allowed to stand on anything. When he stands on things we’re firm about it and put him at the end of the hallway (our ‘naughty corner’, even though we don’t call it that) and then he knows not to do it again. He’s pretty good at remembering but if he ever forgets, down the hallway does the trick! Maybe you could wear Lily out at a playground or play center with climbing. Hope she doesn’t hurt herself too much (although she probably will, because they all do, don’t they?!).
Mitch – poor DH! That’s no good. I really hope that no one else in the family gets sick… that’s all you need with all the things you’re doing over the next few days. I hope you enjoy the wedding and that the extra kids aren’t too much of a handful.
Nothing much to report. DH has his fortnightly radio shift tonight, so it’s single parenting for me again. Unfortunately, I think this is going to be one of the last relatively quiet weekends we have before the baby comes… Charlie and I are going to NSW/Vic next weekend for a wedding and pretty much every weekend from then until the end of May is going to be taken up with either DH’s extra work or me working on assignments in a mad rush to get them done before No. 2 arrives! I was hoping for us to be able to get away for a few days before then but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Bugger.
Charlie has been a nutcase recently. I think he might be getting more teeth, so that’s understandable. He’s usually such a happy little guy – I feel terrible for him when he’s sad and I can’t do anything about it. I used to give him Nurofen but then I heard some bad bad stuff about it and I’m reluctant to do it anymore. SM33 will have to suffice, I’m afraid. Poor thing.
We’re going to DH’s friends house tomorrow to discuss the possibility of us collaborating on an album (if we get a grant from the government) sometime next year. DH has already started the compositions, I’ll play keyboards and this friend will sing. Should be fun. She has a six-month-old daughter (named Chorus – interesting, huh?) so I’m looking forward to cuddling a little one again… if she’ll let me!
Anyway, hope you’re all having a great weekend and that your bubs and DPs are well.
