Wow at the Aquarium Candice! I know when I put on the mobile Louis quitens up but it never goes long enough to get him to sleep. I might look into it for xmas. My list is getting extremely long! It started out that I didn't know anything to get him and now there's too much!
Don't you love when you've got doting people around who like screaming babies! hehe. I think they always do a good job too because their relaxed about it whereas if you've already had them screaming your starting to stress out.
Unfortunately, my Mum (who lives 1/2 hour away) isn't too keen on the whole baby thing. It's really disappointing actually. I think she's just to wrapped up in her own life to really care. I usually only see her once every 2 weeks maybe for 1/2 hour or so. Oh well, I'm sure people have it worse off than me - I'm just having a little sook.
Enjoy your Sundays!

kristie that is nso sad about your mums lack of interest,i just dont understand how grandparents can be like thaT,we are the same.i dont have any parents and dhs parents are to wrapped up in there lives to care about there grand children also.they only show some sought of effort at xmas and there bdays.
we had 2 parties last night to go to and baby girl was fantastic, she just fitted right in,i was so proud of her.
we had pixie fotos done yesterday of the kids,i cant wait to get them back in 2 weeks, they will make great presents also for xmas.

Hey Girls.
I've been feeling much better in last couple of days. Had heaps of help from Mum this past week. She goes home tonight - nooo!! Tristan's been good too. He only wakes up once a night. Yay. Usually it's around 3am. I feed him and he goes straight back to sleep. I want him to sleep through the night again. I need my sleep!!!!!
I've lost all my pg weight. I started at 97kg, went up to 112kg, now I'm back down to 96kg. Yay. I want to be at my pre-marriage weight (84kg) but that's just gonna take a bit more time. Weight watchers sounds like a good idea!!!
I'd love to catch up. I live in Oaklands Park, so central for us would be Adelaide. I've got a friend that would love to come too. Her bubs is 4 1/2months old.
Gotta go. Hungry again. Eat while Tristan's asleep.
Love and hugs..........................Bonnie

Hi Everyone,
lots to catch up on.
On the weight thing - I am back to my prepregnancy weight - not through trying though - just not much of an appetite.
Eden has been doing well the last couple of days - has slept quite alot actually - I think it may be some kind of growth spurt. Eden wakes probably twice a night to be fed - usually is asleep by 8ish, wakes at 1 then maybe again just before 5am. I am happy with that as I know she is getting a good feed through the night.
Went shopping yesterday, my Mum bought Eden her ID bracelet and DH bought me a new diamond ring for having Eden!! He bought me a gold watch with diamonds in it when I had Brandan - one of those men who likes to spend money!
Evening times are definitley the times that our little ones want the company. I think that Eden sleeps so much during the day that by the erly evening she is just ready for a cuddle and some company.
Even though this is number two for me, I am still so unsure at times what to do if she wakes early or a bit anxious about whether or not she is going to settle. I shouldn't be because she has been so good - just my nature to worry though. ANyone else feel really unsure at times what to do???? Or am I the only one - Linda and Kerrie, how are you finding it weven though you already have other children?? Just curious.
Going to the hairdressers tomorrow - become naturally blonde again!! I am taking Eden with me - her first visit!!!!!
Well, signing off now. Hope that you all had a great weekend and I'll catch up on some more news soon.
Love Kazzy
-
Kazzy - Glad Eden is doing well. Wow on the diamond ring! I wish my dh would do something like that!!! hehe
I think most people are unsure at times what to do with their bubbas. What works one time doesn't work the next so we have to keep trying all sorts of things until something works!
I am quite anxious after each feed as to whether Louis will actually go down but I'm getting better. Usually if he doesn't though it's because of wind or something. Or sometimes he just wants a cuddle. There have also been times when I've put him back on the boob and he sucks for 1 min and is then sound asleep. I haven't created any nasty habits with anything yet which is what everyone warned me about!
Have fun at the hairdressers!
Bonnie - Glad your feeling better and are getting some help!
Nikki - It is sad - luckily dh's parents are really good and make up for it with their excitement! I got photos today as well of Louis. I went to Portrait Place. I can't believe a package costs over $600!!!! I don't think we'll be getting that. Just choosing a few here and there.
Right now dh is asleep on the couch with Louis - it looks soo cute! It also means I've nearly got the house clean!
-
just a quick one from me coz I have a grumpy baby girl!! I am loving the fact that we are all back together again though.
I hope all is well with you all, I will try to catch up tomorrow when I dont have DP to deal with as well as my munchkin.
Love to all!
-
A quick one for me too, as i have to get tea ready in time to watch celebrity overhaul LOL.
Emma had a great sleep last night - I only got up once, then she slept for 5 hours today as well!! wow!! pretty happy with that.
Kristie - wow on the size 10 dress!! \:D/ well done! What a shame about your Mum, glad that your DHs parents are so good though.
Candice - I am the opposite to you - when we go out I hate other people wanting to hold Emma!! I just cant stand it! But then I am a bit of a control freak, so maybe that's why....
Nikki - glad your girl was so good last night!!
Kazzy - wow a diamond ring!!! how exciting! Emma is my first, so cant help you there sorry!
Bonnie - glad you have had such a good time with your Mum, isnt it great to have that support? Good on you for losing all the weight - good luck getting back to pre marriage weight!
cindy - hope your grumpy girl gets happy soon!!
Well, this didnt end up being so short after all does it?
-
Hiya,
sorry Linda - I should have put Nikki! What a great sleep from little Emma - great girl. A five hour nap is excellent!!!!
Some of you girls are amazing with going out. I too am a bit of a control freak and like to get Eden down for a nap when she is ready for one! I am going to start to try and loosen up a little though.
What amazes me is that all of the stuff I stress about is the same stuff that I advise people on in my job!!!!!!!!! I think I really need to take a chill pill and just enjoy the moments!
Cindy - hope your grumpy girl is feeling better and giving you aomemore joy!
Krisvee - same about the anxious after a feed!! I suppose the only way we know we are doing the right thing is if our babies are eating and sleeping. Glad to hear that someone else feels the same. I only have an appetite when I know Eden is fed and sleeping - then I know she is OK and I can relax a little bit. Strange , but I was the same with my son, loosened up after a while though - like 2 years!!!!!!
Kerrie - I know how hard it is after being so active all day with a Toddler - all you want to do at night is rest and go to sleep. Sounds like Jess needed that cry time to settle herself. One night Eden was up for a couple of hours - I kept nursing her and putting her down then picking her up - in the end I think that she was just over tired and harder to settle. I wrapped her, put her in her bassinette, lay down on my bed and rocked her until she went to sleep. I am sure it is just a change in her sleep patterns and that she will learn to settle herself at this time for you so you can get that much needed rest.
Canniel - is Bryn over tired do you think?? As a general rule, my MCH nurse said to put Eden back down for a sleep within the hour. This time up included a feed, burp, play. I put Eden down at around about the hour and mos of the time she settles herself for a sleep.. Sometimes she still seems wide awake - just a ploy though. Othertimes she needs to be settled. SOme babies need more awake time than others though, Bryn sleeps well at night though doens't he??
Bekka - so glad that your boy is sleeping so well for you!! Well done!!
As for christmas, I have all my pressies on layby - just have to pick them up. Knew I wouldn;t want to go out shopping after the baby. Still just some small bits and pieces to get for DS.
Have any of you startedyour first parents groups yet???? Something to look forward to.
Bonnie - hang in there - keep talking and keep taking help!!
Well - bith kids asleep so I am off yo bed to get a quick half hour before Eden wakes up.
Happy dreams to you all and hope the sleep fairy visits your little ones when you need it the most.

i cant remember who asked but....about being anxious even when you have already had previous children(raising my hand).every time feels like the first time, cos each child is different ,every routine is different, not to mention circumstances.i find i am most nervous when i go out with chantelle, even to do some shopping cos i am worried i will get there and she will become unsettled, hungry,do poos, scream or want to be held when i am smack bang in the middle of the grocery shopping or something like that.parenting is not easy at the best of times especially when opur babies cant tell us what they need and want.so dont worry about not feeling relaxed and experienced at this parenting stuff cos it is absolutly normal to feel quite the opposite,i have been doing this stuff for 10 years and chantelle makes me feel like it is the very first time.
cindy great to hear from you,i wont you to pop in more often so i can hear about you and your georgous baby.

Grrr - Louis will not go to sleep! Not happy!
When he eventually does go to sleep he better stay down for a while. It can be so frustrating and draining.....
I hope all of you have a better night!
-
AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!
No matter what we done last night, Tristan was being a little poo. What made it worse was we were at our friend's place for dinner. Tristan was crying which set their little bub off. So all four of us were sitting there with two screaming babies thinking "Noooooo. This is not happening!" Finally got him to sleep when we got home. He woke at four for feed instead of 2:30am. Then he woke when DH got up for work. Just wish he'd slept for a teeny bit longer.
Kristy - Hope Louis dropped off to sleep in the end.
Oooh. Tristan has just fallen asleep. Better have a sleep while I can.
Catch up later

Hi All!
Wow! Lots to catch up on...
Benjamin had his Christening yesterday. He slept through the whole thing at the church. It was a beautiful service. It was a good thing he slept, because the family kept him up by passing him around for the rest of the day, until they all went home at 2pm. My sil didn't want to give him back, now my boy has the sniffles, because her kids had colds. Benjamin sounds awful this morning. It didn't help that it was a hot day either.
In regards to the bubby fat topic - I've lost 20kgs of the 40kgs I put on so far. I think I'll have to get help with the rest.
Melissa
-
melissa that is a fantastic effort you should be really proud of yourself
nikki
-
Thanks nikki, you've made my day :D
DH said I need to lose 80kgs before the next one. Nice of him huh? I told him, that if I go on a diet, he's going on one too.
Melissa

kris - the aquarium is wonderful, not cheap though, but worth every penny. I am very sorry to hear about your mums lack of interest, one day she might just snap, maybe when they are older??
Bonnie - glad to hear you a feeling better, a little bit of help can make the biggest of differences.
kazzy - I have had basically no appitite as well, DP has been forcing food down my throat lol, yay at the pressies, don't think I will get one, I got a 1ct engagment ring only 12 months ago. Hope you enjoy the hairdressers. Io don't know if Bryn is over tired.. he definately spends more than an hour up at a time, sometimes 3-4
nikki - We are getting our photos done soon but luckyly we know a photographer who will take a full sitting ang just give them to us on a disc for $50, then we have good family friends who manage a photo shop, can not get out of it any cheaper if we tried lol
cindy - nice to hear from you
Linda - it was only my mum and two close family friends, but I just love seeing how much people smile when cuddling him, and they actually taught me a few tricks lol
-
hi girls,i just got back from the dentist i was up all night with a ferosious tooth ache so took myself in to have it pulled out.it was a horrible ordeal and although i am still numb i bet it is going to be really sore tonight,it was my biggest back one and it took them ages to get it out,she said it was vey big and stubborn and it just kept shattering and breaking while she was trying to extract it,thank god chantelle slept the whole time i would have freaked out if she layed in her pram screaming.i have an appointment to have my nails done at 2pm,bet she wont sleep for me then!!!!!!!!!i have never had my nails done proffesionally before cant wait.
nikki
-
oh yeah,i too have almost no appetite also, glad to hear i am not the only one
nikki
-
Candice - it's funny that our boys have the same sleep patterns- maybe there's something to astrology after all as they were born so close together!!!
Dylan will settle for 20 mins max at a time through the day, but goes really well at night. I've added up that he gets around 10 - 12 hours sleep a day so I'm glad that mostly happens over night...
My appetite is huge atm - I'm not usually a big eater and thru preg had very little appetite, but now I crave junk food non stop. I think it's for the fast energy boost, but it's not a trap I want to fall in to.
Nikki - I've been getting toot aches also, but hopefully nothing needing pulling out...
Bonnie and Fenella - do you want to try and meet up next week? (My parents are here this week so I'm busy) Fenella where do you live? Bonnie mentioned she was in Oaklands Park, and I'm happy to travel to Marion if that's convenient for everyone (I can start my chrissy shopping there!!) Most mornings are good for me, or Tues or Fri afternoons.
Melissa - great that Benjamins's christening went well - wow at him sleeping through it!
Sorry if I've missed people but I haven't been in here for a few days and so much has happened!! We sure do love to talk in here!!
:D
-
Hi All,
jwanted to say how much I love this group. It makes me feel normal when I hear that some others are feeling the same as me YAY!!!!! Thanks heaps for your honesty and support. It does go a long way in making me feel better. Nikki - so glad to hear that even though you have been doing 'it' for 10 years that you still feel anxious. It is hard to explain to others how I feel, most of the Mums group friends that I have already have their second child, but I don't feel too comfortable telling them that I can feel unsure at times!!! Funny isn't it that I feel more at ease with people I haven't met than close friends!!!!
Went to the hairdressers, took Eden, she was fab, got home and it took her a while to settle. I think she was over tired. DH settled her in the end. Have Kinder meeting tonight - taking her with me so keep your fingers crossed for me that she settle OK when I get home.
Bonnie - it is so hard at those times - like Nikki said - hard to know what the little tackers want soemtimes. All I can say is that as they get older it does get easier. I thought my toddler could be a handful, but atleast he can talk to me and tell me what is wrong!!!!
Melissa - Yay on the christening. Well done!!! Benjamin did well.
As for the weight, it iwill come off when you are ready. Much better to be feeling well emotionally. I went to weight watchers when Brandan was 2years to loose 10 kilos. It worked really well.
Appetite - yay that I am not the only one who doesn't feel like eating. SOmeone told me that it can take a while to get your appetite back after a caesar - I just think that I am a little too uptight to eat.
Eden hasn't smiled too much yet - she is only 5 weeks though. Looking forward to more of those.
Thanks for making me feel better girls, I will have to check in more often so that I can run some more stuff past you guys - hope you don't mind!!!
Thanks Again
Kazzy xx

I have to chime in here on the eating topic. I too have had almost NO appetite since having Jess. Dh has been telling me off everyday about it and stressing me because he says that's why my milk is off and on.... He says I'm not geeting enough to do me, and certainly not enough to do her too.... So I decided yesterday to put her on the bottle. I have been miserable these past few days from the fact my milk went when I had to send the kids to my mums and take medicine not safe for BF'ing which meant I had to take two days break from it and my supply cut right back. I've also got a touch of depression. To the point I feel DH is constantly picking on me and that I can't do ANYTHING right and have even been contemplating leaving him which is just silly because I love him too much and it's just me being silly. But I can't help how I feel at times. At times I get SOOOO angry at him for blowing up over silly things that I almost hate him in those moments and that scares me. I spoke to him yesterday about it and I think we kinda worked it out. He agrees it's just my being over tired and emotional and depressed a bit...
I think that has a little to do with my not eating much too.... I think I kinda feel I have lost control over most of my life atm, but that I can control how much I eat. Maybe that's not why....I don't know. I do know that the amount I eat lately has been terrible. For a few days I ate NOTHING but a handful of chips (plain smiths...my mums cure for tummy bug and I had a tummy bug. All I could keep down). Dh tells me off about it all. He tells me he doesn't find skinny women attractive at all and that he'd rather I eat well and be healthy than be skinny....
Gotta go...friends arrived. Sorry about the vent....

Hey everyone.
Almost ripped my hair out yesterday. Tristan just kept crying and crying and no matter what I done, nothing would work to settle him down. He only stopped crying when I took him to the shopping centre and walked around for a while. But the good thing is, he sleeps at night time. Yay. This morning (so far) he's been a little angel. Little smiley man.
Today we're taking him back to the shopping centre to have his photo taken with Father Christmas. I can't wait. I even bought him a little christmas hat for him to wear!!! So cute.
Dee - Next week sounds good - More likely Friday because I'm going to the island (KI) to stay with Mum and Dad for a week starting from Thursday this week, so I should be back by Friday next week. I'll let you know if anything changes. I haven't even thought of Christmas shopping yet!! (don't really want to atm - too hard!!)
Nikki - Horrible about the tooth. I'm glad I haven't had any pulled yet. Get some panadeine forte into you!! That'll work wonders!! I'd love to have my nails done again. I had acrylic nails for about 6 years. I got rid of them when I got pregnant. I still miss them sometimes. I buffed my nails on the weekend and I think I buffed for too long because one of my nails really hurt when I touch it. Probably made the nail too thin. Whoops!!!
8-[
Candice - I know what you mean. I noticed when my Mum went home, things got a little harder. I think that's why I'm going to stay with her this week. Oh and to give DH a break from me!! I don't see any grey hairs on his head yet so I can't be stressing him out too much!
Kazzy - I hope his little whingy sessions get shorter!!! You put things into perspective for me. I know now that it will get easier as he gets older, but I want it to be easier now!!! Hope Eden settled when you got home last night.
Enough for me now. I'll have a little nap while Tristan's still asleep.

Kerrie,
big hugs to you - it is certainly a stressful time. It is hard to going from having some type of control to none at all and top it all off with no sleep, no appetite and being sick - any wonder you are feeling vulnerable. Don't feel bad at all about using the bottle. The main thing is that Jess is getting fed and you are getting rest when needed. Breastfeeding is not the be all and end all!!!!!!!!!!!! It is such a hard adjustment having a newborn and I htink that we all can understand how you are feeling.
As for depression - if you feel it is getting worse - go and see your doctor. I had severe anxiety with number one and had to find different ways of coping with it. I got the help I needed and during this time, I still breastfed and my appetite returned. I wanted to run away and not take on the resposibility because it frightened me. I got through that horrible time, just like you will by gettign the help that I needed. Everyone is different, but please do not suffer through it. This time, I am taking things from feed to feed and getting as much support as I can. DON'T feel bad about bottle feeding - Jess will still grow to be a healthy, happy little girl.
It is hard for our DH's to understand as even though they are parents too, they do not have the hormones and emotional attachment that we have. Also I think that the resposibility for us can be overwhelming at times as we feel as the mothers we are the only ones who can do things and can find it hard to pass it over. Tell your DH that it makes you feel better to talk about it, that you don't expect him to understand ( who would want to understand how it feels to be depressed and out of control!!) but just to accept that you need extra reassurance at times.
You will get through it Kerrie, just look for the help that you need, guilt free and let yourself be human. We all have those times of feeling down, anxious, unsure, angry, sad and confused. That is normal, but it doesn't mean that we have to feel like that all the time. It is not your fault that you got sick, it just happened!
I am sending you HUGE hugs and thanks for letting us know how you are feeling - it is important!!!!!!

Oh Kerrie - I'm so sorry you are having such a tough time. I hope your DH can see how much you need his support atm.
kazzy - i agree - where would we be without this group? it really is easier to be open here than with our 'real world' friends. :D
Donella - I'm glad I'm not the only one with a huge appetite!! bf seems to make me ravenous!!
Nikki - hope your mouth is feeling better after having your tooth pulled. good on you for going to have your nails done! that will feel nice.
Melissa - give your DH a slap for me!! just joking. you have done so well though to lose 20 kg!! good on you!
Kristie - you are probably super busy right now - hope it is all going smoothly for you. You will be able to have a much deserved rest soon - I hope Louis agrees and lets you!!
Emma is improving with her night time sleeps so much, it is fantastic. She is chatting a lot more too, but it seems to tire her out LOL. she will smile and chatter away, then suddenly cry and has to go straight to sleep or gets cranky!! Hard work eh?
-
ggrrr, I just wrote a big long post with personals for everyone and then lost it............ ](*,)
Emma is doing really well, sleeping much longer at night and more smiles and chats (which seem to wear her out LOL - its hard work being a baby!!)
Will write more later........
-
Kerrie - big hugs to you, Iposted you a huge message but it wouldn't post on the forum.
I do know how hard it is - after my son was born suffered from very bad anxiety which made me feel awful. It was a very dark time for me and my hubby, but I sought help and got thru it. You need to talk about how you are feeling and get support/help. I too didn't eat for 3 weeks straight - not a thing. This effected my milk supply but I just kept going. It came back. Even if it didn't, I didn't care at that time anyway because I wanted to run from the responsibility - too scarey!!!!!! Don't feel guilty about the bottle feeding - Jess will still grow to be a happy healthy girl regardless - let go of the guilt - it is not helpful. If you want, still try and feed and supplement with the bottles or vice versa - just get thru this patch whichever way you can.
As for you DH - it is hard for anyone to understand how depression feels unless they have been there. All I can say is ask your DH not to try and understand, but to just try and be patient and ready to listen. A few kind words go a long way when you need them.
This hard patch will pass - just get the support you need. I think that we all understand how you are feeling and it is great that you did 'vent' to us.
I know it may sound contrite, but I do know how you are feeling - I have been there and you are normal and you will be OK!
I am sending you big hugs and hope that you let us know how u are doing.

Nikki - Enjoy Getting your nails done, I am a qualified Nail tech, and just hate not having my done, like they are at the moment, oh well will pop some more on soon..
Dee, The sleeping patterns seem soo similar, that is a little strange
Kazzy - This group is great, and I agree that it is definately easier to chat to all you lovely women. The 1st mums group here doesn't start back up till February.. way to late to help with those early issues.
Kerrie - hugs to you honey.. I really hope you feel better soon. Please make sure you look after yourself, It will be very hard to look after your girls if you are not looking after youself first.. Are you taking any vitamins? that may help you while your not eating great. just take care honey.
Bonnie - I love it whe nmum is here she is soo patient and just seems to have that magic touch.. guess she has been there 4 times, so she should know a few tricks lol. Good to hear your little man is being better today
Linda - sounds like you little girl is doing very nicely.
Well we when to the community health centre for our appointment yesterday, my little man is a now 10lb 5oz he is growing so fast, the nurse who I spoke with was soo good, she gave me some great advice about settling him through the day, seems to have paid off as he is asleep right now, first time he has had a long day nap in a week. I really walked out of there with renewed confidence.
Also we have already had to put him in his cot as whenever he stirred in thecradle he would wack his arms on the side and wake with a startle, so that was no good.
We left Bryn with my parents last night and went to the movies. was great to have a break. we will be doing it every fortnight, and from now on my sister will look after him in return for me doing her acrylic nails afterwards. good deal i think.
well see you all soon, look after yourelves and bubs

Thanks Linda! DH is just looking out for my health I think. I almost did slap him one when he did say it. I know he's right.
I almost lost DH yesterday. He rolled the car on the way to work. Fell asleep at the wheel! #-o The car flipped a few times and ended up on its side, and he climbed out the driver's side window. His first phone call was to me, then to 000. I went and had a look at the car yesterday arvo, and I have to admit, I'm lucky to have him.

OMG Melissa! How scary. Is he injured at all? I hope the car is insured!
candice - what were the tips your nurse gave you for day time naps? good on you for going to the movies!! we should do that too. Sounds like Bryn is growing very nicely indeed!
We had our ECHN 6 (7) week check yesterday too. Emma has put on another 500g since 4 weeks ago, so now is just over 4kg. all seems to be well. we booked for her immunisations for dec 13th, so she will be a little bit older, but thats fine by me! are any of you requesting to have your shots split up? i asked about it and the nurse said she will be fine, there is no need to split them up. i guess if you do she has to go through it twice, but then it is a lot for their immune system at such a young age isnt it?

Melissa - I am so glad to hear that DH is ok, sounds like he was extremely lucky. What a scare for you both.
Linda - good to hear that Emma is putting on good weight. It is so nice to hear that they are growing well as you feel a sense of acheivment, that you have done this for them. :)
Candice - what a great idea to have a night at the movies. DH and I left Jordan at his parents while we went shopping for some xmas pressies. It felt weird without him but we were able to get around alot quicker without the pram and the bag etc.
To all the breastfeeding mums - Does anyone find that their milk isnt as good at the end of the day. I am finding that by 7-8 pm feed Jordan wont settle and is constantly getting back on the boob as he doesnt seem to be getting enought milk.
I have expressed a bottle for tonight to see if that will calm him down as last night was awful. He screamed from about 8pm till 11pm. It breaks my heart when he is like that and I end up crying which isnt good for either of us.
I have been told and read that rest helps the supply build up and also regular feeding. I dont want to wake him every 2 hrs though to bring the supply up as that means I will basically be feeding all day.
Any advise will be appreciated.
thanks guys speak soon

Hi Everyone,
Melissa - what a scare - I am so glad DH is OK. Was he sleep deprived?? It certainly puts things into perspective doesn't it!
Deancy - I am finding the same thing, so what I have been doing is expressing some milk so that I can increase my supply. I think that som eof our babies are just 'fussy' at that time of night and nothing in particular is wrong with them, just unsettled. Hope the expressed bottle works though.
Candice - do share the tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have just been putting Eden dwon within the hour including feed time - works most of the time but sometimes she wakes after an hour. SOme nurses say to resettle, others say to get them up. I know from experience with number 1 that a child who is overtired is much harder to settle than a child who is a little awake so i would LOVE to hear what has worked for you - Glad that you may be getting some more rest during the day. YAY for you!!!! amd what a great boy Bryn is.
How long does everyone's bubbies sleep between feeds on average during the day and night??
Linda - Emma is certainly thriving isn't she, well done. It is great to know that the babes are all doing well health wise. I love going to the clinic for visits!!.
Well, hubby is home early so I will get off computer and do more personals later.
Love to you all.

Tracey - I find that my supply is definately lower in the evenings. I usually express in the mornings while i have plenty. But like Kazzy said, it is pretty normal for bubs to be unsettled in the evenings anyway.
gotta go!
-
Thanks guys for letting me know about your mlk supply.
I have expressed a bottle for next feed so will see how that goes. I might start expressing for tomorrow night when DH feeds Jordan.
At the moment Jordanand DH are asleep on the bed together. After our bad night DH deserves some sleep so I will leave him till dinner is ready.
Kazzy - I am finding that Jordan will settle within an 1 1/2 of starting a feed and then sleep for about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. He is generally 4 hrs in between feeds however the last 2 days he has gone up to 5 after his second feed of the day.
At night he is generally waking every 3 hrs so so only getting 2 hrs sleep as takes about 1 hr to feed.
take care everyone, I am off to battle dinner.

Tracey - just in regards to expressing for the evening feed, my ECHN said it is best to do it in the morning while you have an excess (the morning milk seems to be the fattiest too which i imagine would keep them satisfied longer?)
Emma was doing the same up until about a week ago - having long day sleeps then up every 2 1/2 - 3 hours at night. but just this week she is sleeping about 5 hours then 3 hours through the night - hopefully Jordan will start doing the same for you soon!

Hi All,
for those of you who have unsettled babies of an evening, what is your methos of settling?? I rock Eden in her bassinette till she is asleep, she sort of cries out when I stop so I keep going. What do you do - are your babies crying, screaming or just grizzly. Just curious?? (as usual)
Here's to a good night sleep!!!

Melissa -wo hope everything is alright, that must have really rattled you. It is very scary, I rolled a car once and when I weny back and looked at the wreckage that scared me the most..
linda - I think I would just rather get all the shots over and done with in one sitting for them
tracey - i find that my supply is a little lower in the evening, but i still seem to have plenty for him, but then i seam to be a like a dairy cow
ok for the tips the nurse gave me, you's may already know this. She suggests through the day that you eat/play/sleep. That is, do the feed, burp and nappy change followed by some awake time having hugs, in a rocker, just on the floor, oor some tummy time, watching out for their tired signs and then put them down. For feeding she said to just keep waking bub if he falls asleep and keep putting him back on the breast as a bub with a full tummy will settle for longer. Their signs of tiredness apart from being grizzly and unsettled is, that the baby tends to have their hands up near their face more and sometimes make tight fists. when this starts, pick bub up and settle them in your arms but don't let them go to sleep there, babies need to develop sleep assocaition with their cot or cradle, not with being in your arms, also babies expect to wake up where they went to sleep. so once they are settled and quiet, pop them into their cot, place your hands on them as a reassurance thing and continue to calm them for a little while then slowly leave. If they don't settle, and murphy's law says they won't, go back in, not talking or putting lights on, don't pick him up, just pop the dunny back in rewrap etc and calm again by putting your hands on him patting his forhead etc.., an just keep at it, keep doing this everytime he bocomes unsettled, continue for atlest 20 min before checking again for wind and nappy.. And the most important thing she told me to remember is that it is natural for mums to expect that they can always stop their babies crying, and it is natural for babies to cry, so you need to find a balance.
well that is just what she said to me..
