Kate: great pic of the girls :)
Kirsty: Sorry to hear the surgery didnt go through and ouch to that shoulder tip pain if that guy got it, i have never felt anything like it pain wise when i had it after gall bladder surgery, i had open surgery after keyhole didnt work out though
Glad daycare is working out well :)
-
They offered me open surgery Belinda, but I declined. No way after 2 c/s's did I want to be opened up again even if it is in a totally different spot! They said I'd be off work for 2 weeks! I could not afford that as there is noone to run the place if I'm not there. And the thought of being opened up near my rib cage made me shudder!! Can I be so brash as to ask why it didn't work? Were your gallstones to big?? A friend of my mum's told me horror stories the day before I went in of her surgery(Seems to be so common huh!) that her gallstone was just a bit bigger than a golf ball!!Mine are just little clusters thank god!
-
i am still unsure what happened with mine, so cant tell you really, i just know that they thought all went well after the keyhole but a leak was left or something so i was transferred to brissy to get it fixed
And i was with 3 other ppl to have keyhole and theres all went fine if that helps you :)
-
aaaww how cute and glad her sister thinks it funny :)
nothing much happening here, Cooper still isnt getting better with the spewing and gastro thing so will take him to docs tommorow
-
Belinda hope Cooper is feeling better soon.
Hope all you other ladies are going well.
Not a lot happening here just got the bubs down for a nap and the other little one is in the bath so I probably get fifteen mins time out, then off I go again.
Th 14yr old is at work so get no teenage bother for a couple of hours the only prob is she gets off work at 9pm so another trip out.
Sorry for going on its all good !
Jean
-
Kate, I love the photo too! Thank you! It will be more exciting once the moving is behind us I think!! We will be moving around the 22nd or 23rd of March.
Kirsty, what a big pain about your surgery. At least it wasn't you with the belly full of gas! I hope you don't have any more attacks before the rescheduled surgery. The girls sound so cute, I'm glad they are settling in well.
Belinda, poor Cooper, I hope he is better soon. You've had a run of sick littlies haven't you.
Jean, I hope you enjoyed your spare 15mins!! You must really have your hands full!
Briohny, thanks! Glad your session at Tweddle went well. Men get better at the baby stuff as they go. I'm sure your DH will be more helpful soon. It is stressful when you don't get the support you need.
Emma, how are you doing sweetie?
A big woo hoo here. Tom slept through the night last night. It is only the second time ever and it's been weeks since the first time. Last night he went down around 6:30, I gave him a dream feed at 10 and then he slept through until 6:30. Jack came in and woke us at 6 thank goodness as I forgot to set the alarm for DH, and I suddenly realised that I hadn't been up to feed Tom all night. Hooray!
Another busy day ahead. Will be back when I can!
-
MelanieR Congrats on your big move & Tom sleeping throu it is always good when they give you a good rest.
Well I can't belive Jessica & jack are four months old already Jess has been officialy sleeping throu for one month and Jack for six weeks if they didn't sleep throu i think I would have gone mad by now.
Jack has started dribbling big time in the last week or so not sure if he might get some teeth soon DD #2 had four at for months so we will soon see.
Enough blah from me catch you all soon.
Jean
-
Thanks Jean. Got to love that dribbling - not!
Well, Thomas woke once last night, around 3am, and took over half an hour to go back to sleep which is most unusual. I wonder what will happen tonight! He is so interactive now, smiling and laughing more than ever. It is getting hard to bath him as he grabs the cloth really tightly. When I get it back and try to keep washing him, he grabs it again! But he and Jack really play together in the bath. They splash each other and laugh when they do it. It is so cute. If I didn't have to hold Tom in the bath I'd video it.
-
Good to hear from you Emma. I'm sorry you are having such a hard time atm. I hope it gets easier soon. I know how hard it must be when you were looking forward to TTC soon, but things will work out one way or another I'm sure. Hang in there and enjoy your beautiful little girl!
Tom woke once last night again but went straight back to sleep. We are getting there!!
-
Hello everyone..just a quick post to say I'm still alive!
Have had a pretty exhausting week with hubby being sick and Kirsten having cold and now teething..she is very grizzly and cries easily as well as chewing her hands and licking at her gums all the time, and her gums feel hard, so I am assuming thats what it is! She is just not herself!
She has her vaccinations on Friday, don't want to put her through them but they have already been postponed so should probably just go for it!
Luckily she is still sleeping 10-11 hours at night as I am quite tired/sniffly/worn out myself!
Will post more soon when things on even keel, hope you are all doing well..
Marion

-
Marion, I hope things settle down for you soon. I hope the vaccinations go well.
Two exciting pieces of news from here. Tom slept through again last night - 2nd time in 4 nights yay! Also he got his first teeth today. The two bottom ones have both come through together. And he has been so good I didn't even know they were on their way LOL! Looks like our teething experience with Tom will be very different to Jack's. And ouch, I'd forgotton how sharp they are when they first cut!
-
Well, Tom didn't sleep through the night last night but that's ok. He is so happy, you would never believe he has just cut 2 teeth. I'm still a bit stunned that they are there. Jack didn't get his first tooth until 6 months, and boy did we know it was coming!
Kate, yes the move is very close. I haven't started packing as I want to wait until everything is confirmed, but I think I'm going to have to start anyway. It's going to be a HUGE job. Other than that everything is organised. I have even booked the movers. I hope there are no hitches now LOL! And yes, I feel so amazing in the morning after Tom has slept through (and all day!). I'd forgotten what it was like LOL! I hope you get there soon. I'm sure Rylee will love the swimming lessons. I agree that they seem to pick it up faster when they start young. And most of them love it too - Tom sure does!
Marion, hope everyone is better now!
Emma, hope you are doing ok.
Belinda, how is Cooper now?
Kirsty, how are you going with it all? I hope you are still loving the job!
Hi to everyone else.

Hey Girls
I'm coping well. Jasmine had her 4 month jabs yesterday at 5.30pm and at 1am she was grizzly, had a temp and vomitted all over me. I totally freaked and so did Corey and we've heard horror stories about the 4 month jabs causing problems. Gemma never had any probs. I was up all night with her, got 3 hours sleep and by morning she was all smiles like nothing happened!! I was knackered but went to work anyway! My boss was up for the day to see how things were going. Luckily she has kids herself so she could relate. Other than that we're moving house ina month. I'm a sucker for punishment!LOL
Jasmine is still all smiles all day every day. She even smiles in her sleep!PMSL And shes rolling everywhere, which Gem thinks she has to help her. Jasmine just adores Gem and starts smiling and talking before she can see her and when she can only hear her!! Oh and shes still not sleeping through. I figured out why shes not, cause at daycare shes only drinking half her bottle so in the middle of the night shes starving!!
Well I'm off to bed
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!
-
Kirsty - sorry to hear Jasmine had a bad reaction to her jabs. It is awful when a smiley baby gets sick or upset and is not her usual happy self. Kirsten had her jabs yesterday and was all smiles until the injections when she cried inconsolably. She didn't seem too sick afterwards but we will see how she goes today!
Melanie - Glad Tom cut his tooth with no complaints! I am sure Kirsten is teething but I think her grizzliness was down to her cold! Hope the packing is going well.
Emma - Sorry to hear you are still troubled. I can understand about the fears about baby no 2. I feel the same as I am turning 35 next week and am in no way fit to TTC again yet, so am not sure if I will ever have another baby!
Belinda - Hope Cooper is going better!
Kate - Glad Rylee loves her bath and will be going swimming. I was taken swimming from an early age and still love it to this day!
Hope the rest of you are doing well.
I thought we were getting back to normal, except for the vaccinations, but inlaws just told us yesterday they want to come down on Monday for a week. They love to spring things on us at short notice, of course I had made lots of plans for the week. They might not come if they have colds, they said they might have and I am not too keen on looking after a sick baby for another couple of weeks when she has just got better!!
After her 3.5cm gain in 2 weeks she only grew 0.5cm in 3 weeks, but has gained nearly 1lb so she is a bit more in proportion now..now at 13lbs 8oz and 63cm tall!

Oh Marion, I hope the ILs decide not to come! It would be awful if Kirsten got sick again. You also need some time to yourselves (when you are all well!). After our experience with Hotel Melanie (non-stop rellies staying after Tom was born) I sure know how that goes. I hope Kirsten stays well after the jabs. Tom cried a lot at his too, I think those 4 months ones are awful. As for TTC again, give yourself time. I felt that way after Jack too (and I was 35 when he was born). We started TTC when he was 7 - 8months as that was when AF returned, and we wanted another one close. But it wasn't until he was 9 months that I really felt ready.
Kirsty, poor Jasmine. I'm glad the reaction didn't last long. Bl00dy 4 month jabs! I don't think the 6 months ones are as bad. From memory there are only two then, but the 12mth ones are bad again. You are doing so well to cope with full time work and everything else. Is Corey well trained?
How is everyone else?
Last night we went out to a fancy dress 40th. It was a 20s theme so we dressed as gangster and gangster moll (complete with wig). Poor Jack didn't know what to say when he saw mummy dressed in a very short dress, fishnets and a blonde wig LOL! Anyway, he was of course alseep when we got home. Later in the night he came into our room (prob to check that we were home) and crawled into bed on DHs side. He slept there for a couple of hours then started wriggling (it's amazing he slept at all, usually he never sleeps when he is in our bed, he just wriggles around). Anyway, DH said to him could he please be still or go back to his own room and sleep in his own bed. So guess what, Jack says "ok" and climbs out of our bed, goes into his own room, climbs into bed and goes straight to sleep. What a kid! And he's still sleeping now and it's getting on for 8am! Tom has been up and gone back down so the house is very quiet. I feel lost!!
-
Hi gals! Our house contract was supposed to go unconditional today but everyhting hasn't gone through yet so now it will be Friday. It's a PITA bcos that only gives us 2 weeks to get ready. I'm doing some things but don't want to do too much in case it falls through.
Tom slept through the night again last night. That's 3 times in 8 nights.
-
Melanie - Sorry to hear the house isn't quite finalised! When we moved we ended up with only 4 days to pack everything..somehow we managed!
Glad Tom is sleeping through! It helps us so much that Kirsten does!
The inlaws are here, but interfering a lot less and being quite helpful so its not nearly as bad as when I saw them the last time!!

Just to let you all know i wont be on very much becasue our computer broke :( Not sure when we can get it fixed. So im on the local library comp at the moment.
Also got some good news. I got a job yesterday! Its for a sales and marketing company that deals with charity organisations. At the moment they are doing the heart reaserch institution. I am an independent contractor, so basically i am my own boss, so i can take days off whenever i like! Had to get an ABN number and all that too. Also a good thing is i can claim everything back in tax. Which is great because i will be using a lot of petrol. The hours are 7:45am til 5:30pm, so long hours but i think it will be really good for me especially since being diagnosed with an anxiety diorder. It'll keep my mind off things.
Charlie is good. Growing heaps. Yesterday he was in a fit of laughter at Lily for some reason and he wouldnt stop laughing for like 10 minutes. So cute!
Anyway that's my update. I hope everyone is well!
-
Tegan - sorry to hear about your PC..hope it's fixed soon!
But congrats about the job..it sounds perfect!
Father-in-law is now really driving me nuts. His latest thing is to go into Kirsten's room to see her when I have spent ages trying to get her to sleep..or to tickle her feet while she is asleep just as I am serving dinner etc..and he ignores me when I ask him to leave her to let him sleep! :wall: He is still doing the "No she isn't hungry/tired/itchy" thing but I am always right!
We have to go up there for a week at end of month...am not looking forward to it at all! Luckily mother-in-law is lovely and on my side so she tells him off!
Marion

-
Congrats on the job Tegan. That's great news. I hope you get your PC fixed soon, what a bummer.
Oh Marion, I know just how you feel. Tell him I said "bugger off and do what Marion says" LOL!! Just when you thought he was going to behave too. What a PITA.
Well, Tom slept through again last night. That's two nights in a row. If he does it again tonight I'm thinking we might have made it! Of course the downside is that if I'm not feeding through the night, I can't rely on bfing as a contraceptive anymore so I guess we have to decide whether or not there will be a number 3.
Bedtime for me now. I hope everyone is well.
-
Woo hoo! Tom slept through again - that's 3 nights in a row!
-
Well tried to get comp fixed but it is totally stuffed. So have to wait a while until we can buy a new one. :( so sad. I will miss BB not having it whenever i can!
-
Hey girlies
Oh Tegan what a PITA about your computer. God Charlie looks cute in your ticker!LOL
Have been trying to catch up, doing so slowly!PMSL Jasmine is still not sleeping through but shes still no problem when she does wake for a bottle. She drinks with her eyes closed ! She looks so much like Gemma its not funny! Although she has red hair and Gem is blonde. Works going good, had a few dramas this week that made me pull my hair out, but nothing a glass of wine at night couldn't fix!LOL
We have the wine and food festival here this saturday. We're not going though, to many pi$$ed idiots ruin it for all. ANyhoo have a nice weekend ladies..................
-
Thats great Kate that Ry's sleeping is getting better. I really don't know how you got through the early days! Yup I think our girls are the only 2 left that aren't sleeping through although Tom has only just starting sleeping through. Jasmine has very little hair as well. Gemma is white blonde like I was and Jasmine has red bits of hair at the back of her head but the top looks like a mix of brown, blonde and red!Corey was red as a kid but is brown now. Didn't manage to get that glass of wine last night, definitely have to try for tonight!
-
Well, it appears Tom isn't sleeping through yet either! After the 3 nights, he has now woken once for the last 2 nights. What will happen tonight?
We still don't know about the house. It could be another week before we know. So if it does go ahead, settlement will be one week later too. I just wish I knew.
I'm so busy atm and tired, so will catch up properly soon.
Tegan, hope you get a new PC soon. I hope the job is going well.
Kate and Kirsty, hope you both have sleeping bubs soon too. Kate, how are you finding being back at work? Glad to hear that Rylee has improved some.
-
I certainly am feeling it after Tom was sleeping through. He woke again last night around 4:30 (when he does wake it's getting later each time), but he didn't really go back down so I have been awake on and off since then. Jack was good last night, but woke the night before. Both boys are teething so I think that's why we've gone off the rails. The 2 year old molars seem to be giving Jack some grief, he even bit my shoulder the other day which is very unlike him.
Kate, I'm glad work isn't all bad, maybe your mum can sit at your house more often and make it easier for you. It is nice having extra cash isn't it. I'm thinking of trying to pick up some chunks of work I can do in my own time once this move is over (if it happens!). As for no 3, well, the jury is still out. Part of me really wants it, part isn't sure. That's the Libra in me for sure!
Oh how cute. I just went in to settle Tom who is grizzling instead of sleeping - got to love teething, NOT - and he just laughed and laughed at me.
-
Melanie- I feel your pain - Kirsten is sleeping through from 6pm but is now waking at 5am, which is really tiring us out, as hubby has to get up for 7am to go to work so we don't really get back to sleep! She is also teething, and is making lots of whingy noises and chewing her hand off, the poor thing!
Kate - Hope Rylee settles even more soon. You sound like you are super-organised!
We were out last night for dinner..first time since Kirsten was born..to console me for turning 35 today :) My mum's friend, who was a children's nurse, babysat - we were worried about it as Kirsten had been grizzly and tired all day, but it turns out Kirsten went to bed just as she arrived and didn't wake again until 5am this morning! It was really nice to get out, but felt strange, like the buggy should have been there beside us!!

Happy Birthday Marion!! 35 isn't bad hun! I turn 30 this year.
-
Aww thanks!
I don't feel my age, maybe because DH is 29!
Also, twice my mum and I have met strangers when out with Kirsten, who have told us their daughter is pregnant but she is 33, much older than me, and far too old to have a first baby! Makes us laugh!!

Happy Belated birthday Marion :)
Just a quick one to say i am still around, have parents here and just generally dont seem to have enough time in the day anymore, they fly by!
Off to Sydney with Luke for 5 days on Thursday, should be good but thinking i will probably miss the other boys a lot, didnt really think of that too much when i booked it all, but Luke will probably always remember the trip with me so will be nice too :)
Cooper is going really well and fully over the bug he had for two weeks, now he is puking on me and smiling at me and doing eyebrows, he is such a happy baby thankfully
-
Happy Birthday Marion (better late than never LOL). I hope you had a good one. I'm a little older than you! It does feel a little like you are missing a limb when you go out without the bub doesn't it.
Belinda, glad to hear that Cooper is finally better. I hope you have a great trip to Sydney and don't miss the other boys too much.
Kate, the teething has settled down now, although Jack still has two eye teeth and two 2yo molars part way through. I can't believe Tom is cutting his 3rd tooth already. Jack got his first tooth at 6 months and then took ages to get the 2nd one. LOL, yes, I am a Libran. My birthday was supposed to be 2 weeks before Tom's but due to his early arrival, his birthday is actually a week and a bit before mine (I'm 4/10). When I started getting birthday cards in the mail I thought they were more baby congrats cards and couldn't work out why some people were sending another card LOL. Got to love baby brain, I totally forgot about my birthday! Mind you, I don't like getting older so I could happily forget them all! I hope your girls start sleeping better for you soon, I don't know how you do it.
We seem to be back on track now. Tom slept through again last night except he woke at 9pm for a feed instead of waiting for me to give him a dream feed. Yesterday we had visitors and his teeth were making him grumpy so his sleep was all over the place, but today he has slept well like normal. Also, the last couple of mornings Jack has played in the lounge room until one of us is up, instead of coming in and waking us up. Mind you we were already awake but trying to put off getting up LOL.
MIL has asked to take Jack down to the Gold Coast to visit friends one day next week or the week after. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with it. DH isn't sure either. MIL said she would understand if I said no (but she would probably be upset anyway). Jack gets along well with MIL and FIL BUT......What would you girls do? Am I being too overprotective?
-
Thanks girls :)
Melanie: Answered you in jan-june thread about MIL, all this teething talk is getting me scared lol, i forgot about it
Kate: hope you and the girls are going good
Cooper is officially rolling now, he rolled ages ago once and then got over it lol so didnt really count it as official, but he is doing it constantly now, so yah for him, he moves all over his mat now too by wiggling him self bit by bit, so all is good there
i am sooo tired tonight so off to bed for me, nite :)
-
Just to let you all know we're going up to QLD for a holiday for 3 weeks. So wont be around until after then. BUT we're buying a computer up there so when i get back i can catch up on everything again!
Also just an update on Charlie. Got him weighed today. He is 7.3kg, 70cms long. Had to start him on solids the other day when he turned 5 months because he kept having 250mls of forumla every 2 hours. Little piggy! But he is only in the 50th centile for weight so he must have a very fast motabolism. God, i cannot believe our bubs are 5 months already. It goes so fast!
-
Kirsten is also eating more, plus she has started waking earlier and earlier..she used to sleep from 730-6 or 7 but this morning was up at 430 and yesterday ate a full feed at 130 and 530. Hopefully its just one of her many growth spurts.
She is only in the 30th centile for her corrected age so obviously also has a very fast metabolism, hard to keep up with with expressed milk which apparently digests quicker than formula too! But will keep going until she is 1 probably!
Am trying to hold off from putting her onto solids yet as I've heard it's better to wait until 6 months for her eczema, and also it might not even help her sleep longer, so will wait and see what happens!
Am tired already though!!
Hope the rest of you are all well and rested!

Hi gals, sure is quiet in here lately! We must all be busy!!
Thanks for the advice girls.
Kate, how are things? Are the girls sleeping any better yet?
Tegan, have a great holiday. Wow at Charlie, what a great eater!
Belinda, Cooper sounds like he'll have you running around after him in no time.
Marion, wow, Kirsten is another great eater!
I think Tom is nearly ready for solids too. Getting teeth is usually one of the signs and no 3 is now on its way. Also he is starting to grab at food and seems to be drinking more. I will wait until he's 6 months which is only a couple of weeks away now anyway, but I think by then he will be ready, unlike Jack who wasn't interested until 8 or 9 months. And then the first thing he really liked was yoghurt and he had an allergic reaction!
Tom is still only sleeping through some nights. He did last night (well, until 5:40 anyway). But then he went to bed late (around 6 instead of 4 - 5pm). I would like to put him down later more often but he's just too tired. It only worked yesterday as we were out anyway.
The boys are both doing well atm. Jack is saying the cutest things, out of the blue he'll say things like "oh my goodness" or "that's funny" in such an adult tone. And Tom is smiling and laughing all the time, except when he's crying with a sore mouth!
We are still waiting to find out if the house is going ahead. We have been so stuffed around. I'm so over it now. Hopefully it will all be resolved one way or the other on Monday. Basically the bank has promised to LOOK at our application then. We applied on Feb 22 and have just asked for our 3rd extension on the contract and they are going to deign to LOOK at it on Monday. Actually I'm furious - and when we paid our last mortgage out with them they told us we were good customers and would love to give us another mortgage. And then they treat us like this! Monday will probably be too late as the vendors said last time they wouldn't agree to another extension. So probably on Monday we will get a call from the lawyer saying sorry, the contract has crashed. I wonder if we can sue the bank for mental anguish...
-
Sorry to hear of the continuing house hassles Melanie :(
Sounds like Tom's sleeping is improving!
Marion
-
Thanks Marion. Hoping for some good news today but not holding my breath....
Yesterday we had lunch with the ILs then left the boys there for a couple of hours while DH and I went to a movie. The boyes were both very well behaved, both of them went down easily for their afternoon naps and slept for most of the time we were gone. Tom had an episode of breast refusal before we left (he's had a few over the last couple of days) so was ready for a feed by the time we got back, but wasn't starving or anything, he was playing happily. MIL had offered him a drink in a cup but he refused that too.
I think Tom is very close to sitting up unsupported now. He can nearly do it but then topples over. He's not far from crawling either. I can't believe he will be 6 months on Sunday. Seriously, it can't be half a year since he was born, it can't be! He is having his 6 months vax on Thursday.
Jack turned into a 2 year old monster on the weekend. He became defiant and very grizzly. I'm not sure if it's teething or just a stage but luckily he is a bit better today, although he didn't want to go down for his day sleep which is very unusual. He even hurt Tom yesterday (accidentally I think) by hitting him in the head with a big toy he was trying to give him. So now I have to be careful about leaving them alone together. Oh the joys!
-
Seems like its just you and me here these days Melanie!
I feel your pain about the house, we went through a lot of hassle to get this one and at one point thought we had definitely lost it...hope everything works out!
Must have been great going to a movie, we used to go a lot but haven't managed since Kirsten was born! We watch lots of DVDs though!
Sorry Tom has to go for yet more vax! We don't have any at 6 months here, and get a break until about 12 months!!
Sorry to hear Jack hurt Tom! They are very resilient though, aren't they, Kirsten keeps getting overenthusiastic with her toys and hitting herself on the head/face, but doesn't even cry!!!
I think Kirsten is also teething, she was very grizzly yesterday and just chewed her hand/drooled all day. She also woke 3 times the night before last then fed all day yesterday. My friend, who happens to be a health visitor (don't know what they are called there but its the nurse who deals with mothers and babies, weighing etc) said she thought she was ready for some baby rice last night, so we tried, but she just cried and turned away. I think we will hold back a bit more as she slept through last night and hasn't eaten as much today. I think it was just another of her huge growth spurts!
Luckily she is smiling again today, it was breaking my heart to see her little sad face all day!!

Hey girls
We are moving next weekend.....lucky us. Moving closer to daycare, its only a block away. Corey's on holidays so hes doing all the packing, lucky man!!PMSL
Jasmine is going great guns, on solids and loving it. Still not sleeping through, but still such a happy talkative little girl. Gem and Jaz are really interacting now with Gem reading to her and giving her toys(yep shes finally sharing!LOL)
Works going great. Crazy busy though, but loving it. Must say the extra cash is weird. Was so used to living on Corey's wage. On the bad news front my Lil Sister and her hubby are definitely heading for divorce. Hes starting to get a bit violent during fights, throwing things at her, no punches or hitting just throwing things which is just as bad in my books. So hasn't told him she wants the divorce yet. Its just so sad as they have 3 little girls 5, 2 and 10 months. Once a cheat always a cheat to me though. Shes better off without him.
Anywhooo better do some work.............................have a great day ladies
-
No news on surgery yet. I rang the other week and they said the machine that broke still hasn't been fixed!! wIll get told soon thought I hope.
